CapitalCee:So Liverpool is worse off than Porto and Celtics based on recent form? So Brendan Rodgers actually got a better job than the one he was sacked from? So Leicester City is a bigger club than United? Recent form agrees with the analogies. |
elrony:I am not arguing their status in terms of winnings. Do you know Gabriel Jesus was courted by Real Madrid but he went to City? Would that have happened in 2005? |
CapitalCee:Why 3 years that is my argument? |
CapitalCee:You are adjusting the timeline dishonestly that is my point. If any player leaves PSG today to go to Porto it will be seen as a relegation. The reason being PSG are a financially tier 1 football club at the moment. Same for City. Rumors filtered earlier in the season that Messi's clause could be triggered by City and Barca did not treat it with levity. This could not have happened 50 years ago. It is beyond winning continental titles per se because Aston Villa has won more than Chelsea FC yet John Terry moving there was seen as a decline. Not everything should be argued to a halt because Dayo is involved. That is what is happening now. |
elrony:They are receiving tier 1 money. The emphasis is on where they are FINANCIALLY. |
CapitalCee:Are they tier 1 clubs that is the issue? Abi don't they have more titles than Chelsea? |
CapitalCee:Pelle's first league cup was in 2014. His 2nd in 2016. |
CapitalCee:City? Mancini had 1 FA Cup. Pellegrini had 2 League Cups. To add to their 2 titles in 7 years of tier 1 money investments. |
Why is City's own 2 league titles in 50 years but Chelsea's since the turn of the premier league as we know it? Chelsea should have 4 EPL titles in 50 years too. And Aston Villa, FC Porto, Celtics are the big clubs? |
SmooshCHN, saw us losing by 19 in the first 8 mins or so - should I waste my data? I know we have reduced the deficit to 5 but I don't know what is wrong with these players. Donlittle, you guys are mean. I have laughed my GSW-madness away. ![]() |
WeissBarlow: |
Not every one that criticises the Cavs is a Warriors fan. I need to put it out there. Assembler in Chief ![]() |
eph12:Ok o. |
Lana1:He said "luck" but you can ask him why yourself. I am guessing the winner by Solksjaer was a bit fortuitous and the other against CFC was on penalties which could have gone Chelsea's way. So it was a toss up. Oya, help me answer my own. I need to dispel this myth that has been going on for sometime. |
ollah1:Dani Alves was denied a stone wall penalty in the first leg against Inter that would have given us 2 away goals. Messi was denied a glaring penalty against Arsenal that game that Bussacca redcarded RVP. I wonder why these decisions don't generate as much controversies too. |
eph12:Help me explain something; So Ovrebo was cheating for Barca yet he wrongfully redcarded Eric Abidal and forced Barca to play a man down for large swaths of the game against an imperial Chelsea side that were a goal up? |
Lana1:How did he influence Ovrebo's decision? |
SmooshCHN:When we led by 8 in the first, he put out that mumu line up with DWest and co. Before long, Pistons led by 3. He left that line-up a tad too long before bringing KD back in. Then we went up by 5 again. Next thing he started doing stupid alterations like when Steph was playing around with 4 non-shooters. I know TOs have been crazy but we have been bad with them all season. It still cannot justify losing by 8 after having led by 14pts at home. Kerr is too stubborn; if he has made up his mind before a game to make certain rotations, he will make them regardless of how the game is going. We needed to win yesterday to get a game ahead of SAS who have recently faltered. Why lose a home game to Detroit "useless" Pistons? Of all the losses this season yesterday's peppered my body. I was livid. I know it is a long season and what not but he better start trying to rack up wins now. We would use much latter in the season to explore different line-ups in readiness for the playoffs. |
Blowing a 14pt lead. I did not expect that. All the blame should fall on Kerr for the useless rotations. Good job from him. |
aliondo:I don't want to laugh first until they lose. But they might not lose. |
chic2pimp:I get your point but the reality is if there is a criteria for the best rapper alive Eminem will tick the most boxes. And I did not say he did everything better than every other rapper but that he did most things better than the other rappers they normally put in that greatest category. Just like in football, the players that make up that greatest ever category have certain boxes they need to tick such that no matter one's preferences or biases any random choice will not foot that bill. For instance, no matter how much someone likes Rick Ross, they simply cannot make a case for him in the greatest ever criteria going by the requirements. Now going back to Eminem, my position was, had Eminem fulfilled that unwritten "black-skin" criteria, he would have made most people's number 1. I know they lazily put Tupac and BIG at the top of most lists etc. It is laughable because had both rappers not died so tragically, I doubt they may be as relevant now. |
As usual, trying too hard. I am not teaching you the subtlety of language that is, that language can be subtle. I am teaching you that one can be subtle IN using language. There is a difference. 1. Means the way an English man will say something will be slightly different from the way a French person for example will transliterate the same thing 2. Means a speaker can be subtle or employ euphemisms in expressing his/herself. Keep arguing with yourself. Mensa ko, Koffi ni. Get a life or something ![]()

WeissBarlow:I know subtlety in language will fly over you like pedestrian bridges. The other statement admits the player is great but chinks his armour by implying that he may not be as great without the others around him. Jeezus! Everyone agreed that Harden and Brodie had equally great seasons. But the journalists who voted the latter MVP claimed they did so because he achieved what he did in a relatively weaker team. By inference, they were saying Harden's season was simply not as great - thus, underrating his achievements. https://spinditty.com/artists-bands/Kendrick-Lamar-vs-J-Cole-The-Best-Rapper-Alive-BlackLivesMatter-and-the-The-Politics-of-RapYour first link is dated 2014. I know you are a rank pseudointellectual so I would try to help you out. Secondly, isolated references and preferences mean zilch. I can write a blog and say who is the best rapper alive between 21 Savage and Rick Ross. It does not mean it is universally agreed. Let me show you a quote from that first link; Kendrick has a better reputation for consistency among hip-hop nerds, but with Cole's stellar new album "2014 Forest Hills Drive," the North Carolinian ROC rapper is finally receiving some well deserved critical acclaim. Even the writer agrees that JCole is "FINALLY" receiving some acclaim. Which implies he was not receiving it before. As for your second link. Hear what the writer was addressing and don't get drawn by sensational headlines. I warned you to mind who you are engaging as you won't come out a hero. While collaborative friends, hip-hop heads have been debating who's the greatest rapper of the two for awhile now. As you can see, the writer is comparing who is greater between the two. A poll at the end of the article cements my argument. If that were not so, then the writer would be implying that Jay-Z is not in the conversation for who the greatest rapper alive is. Your last link pretty much sums up how subjective the question is. [Peep the last name they inserted into the mix ]. Again, that person was simply asking for people's preferences amongst the three of them.Yeah j cole is very under appreciatedIn his own words which I quoted. Argue with him. The fact that you're comparing drake to jay z has destroyed any hope one has that you're at least capable of any reasoning.Comparing Jay Z's first 10 years into the game to Drake's 10 years. Yes, Drake is 10 times more successful. You argument is based on complexion, which you have still been unable to prove.Draymond agrees. KD agrees. Chris Broussard agrees. Stephen A Smith agrees. I gave you Laettner who was the best ever NCAA player yet he was villified and maligned. I gave you Grant Hill who even Chris Webber and Jalen Rose admitted they hated simply because his dad was a famous quarter back and his mum was roommate with Hillary Clinton at Yale. They hated that he; light-skinned, handsome, rich and attended Duke. As a result, they never gave him the credit for being a great b-baller. They only admitted this recently. You can watch the documentary on the "Fab five" (ESPNs 30 for 30) for evidence. Its usual for even the greatest of rappers to claim they arent getting enough respect. what i cant see is where he said he isnt respected because hes light skinned.Where did Steph say it for Chris Broussard and Draymond to surmise that it is the case with him? Where did Dirk say it? What about Eminem? Did he say it too? Even if they did, evidence shows you won't have a clue. We can tender this thread in a court of law for example, but then, knowing you, what that means is your posts on here can be used as proof that you have comprehension issues. Lets summarize some of your arguments hereSome of them. Don't forget the some before someone starts asking me about non-entities like Simmons and Lonzo. When they mention an nba players father its to belittle his abilities.NBA player's father who played professionally and is well-recognized and then relate his son's skills to his in a way that shows the son may not have had that skill without his dad. Yes, it shades off the son's skills. J cole isnt respectedIsn't as respected by his PEERS and contemporaries as he deserves. Drake > Jay ZWhen comparing both rappers 10 years into their careers. Yes. At this point you just keep throwing sh it on the wall and hoping something sticks. I promised myself id be more patient and try not to be drawn into arguments especially with people that have clearly shown their mental deficiencies. I have better things to do with my time so i'm done responding to you.You have been schooled. Now go play with your mates. |
WeissBarlow:If the statement was made this way, there would be no implication. You have directly stated why he is great. Subtlety in language has to do with inferred, deduced, implied, indirect meanings. You're hopeless. Can you please post these lyrics small fry? Has any neutral rapper shown anything but respect towards j cole? Please tell me who. Again the fact that he is in the conversation for best rapper alive and this is universally agreed shows how appreciated he is. no one appreciates drake cause hes a bum. Its not about complexion. To show you how bereft of facts you are; I would let you type "JCole and Underappreciated or Underrated" and see how many links you would get about the issue being discussed. It is only in your imagination that JCole is universally agreed as anything. I won't even speak about Drake because at this point in his career compared to Jay-Z (same point), Drake is 10 times more successful. Unless he recanted his statements citing inebriation or duress or his complexion has changed since this period what he said still applies. That being light-skinned helped him sell more albums? How does it relate with being underrated by some of your peers? Take home assignment; just like Nowitzki, Google Christian Laettner for another evidence that complexion can taint how a player is rated. You may add Grant Hill to the mix. He was the first real version of a privileged light-skinned black guy who never got his due credit from his peers. And stop arguing with me. I will bludgeon you with hard facts. Painful reading your comments when you're trying so hard to sound clever when your thought process clearly exposes that you're noComing from someone who deliberately tried to claim I was arguing against privilege and when he was found out, still had the temerity to call said person a simpleton. LOL. LOOOOOOOOOOOOOOL. Edit; thought against posting the JCole lyrics intially but let me oblige you to show who the real simpleton is. From 'Jodecci Freestyle' FT Drake

Messiah!! |
Messi missed a sitter. |
We are getting outplayed. |
Scoreline does not reflect the dominance. Westbrom were very physical. Otamendi, youuuuu imp! ![]() Great 3 points. |
WeissBarlow:Context. Stop bloviating. So what if he did get a head start? does that take away from the end product? Nothing subtle about that, its clear and straight forward that they think his shooting is superior, only a simpleton would that is subtle. You mean if I say KD is great [but he has great players around him in GSW] takes nothing away from him? Stop calling people words that aptly describe you. The issue is about why, i say its privilege, you say its complexion. i disagree.I know it is hard for you but try not to be a tad stoopid. I mentioned privilege AND complexion. Seasoned journalists agree with me. Draymond agrees with me. What are you waffling about? This just sums up how confused and ignorant you are. Apart from claiming j cole is disrespected (again ignoring the biggest debate in rap today, kendrick vs j cole) you went on to claim he doesnt get enough credit cause hes light skinned?I warned you to know who you are talking to. I can reel out many of his lyrics depicting his feelings of underappreciation from his peers. So stop tossing redherrings about him saying being light-skinned helped him sell more albums (I already said he sold many albums). He also said being light-skinned helped Obama become president. Now compare what he means to what is being discussed and stop confirming that all that high IQ talk was a hoax. Edit: 2013 article by the way. Very recent. Touché. As used by a big fry. These jokes write themselves. |
WeissBarlow:So when they compare Lebron James' sons to him and when they compare Lavar ball to his sons are the same situation? And you asking me how I think. Lmao! you're just confused. Doesnt that just mean they know that and they're not trying to "demystify" him as you claim? again since when has mentioning an nba players father, especially a former player been a ploy to discredit? Do you know how ridiculous you sound?Because in the context in which it is usually used - they make it sound like he got a headstart compared to other players. For example, when they want to extol SCs shooting over Allen's or Miller's they will usually say "but he does it off the dribble". It is subtle but average Joes will get it much less MENSAs. Ooh so its just NBA players, the commentators who mention his fathers background dont yeahSorry but the issue is about players disrespecting Curry. Try another spin. The biggest debate now is about j cole vs kendrick, j cole is one of the most respected rappers in the US, no one ridicules him. Drake is a punk and deserves to be treated as such, has nothing to do with his skin color.LOL. You obviously do not know what you are talking about. JCole is like Drake in being underappreciated and disrespected. He has no major awards. Few nominations. Barely called in rap convos even when he outsells and outraps many of the others that always get mentioned. JCole talks about the light-skin effect as him and Drake share commonalities in respect to having white mothers. Unlike the other guy you mentioned. its the burden of being exceedingly smart, most people seem exceedingly dumb so i need to be more patient. I dont blame you, not everyones reasoning is up to par.I could have made the same claim myself but it speaks to a person's character if he thinks a number defines his intelligence. |
rotimi9:Sarcasm Rotimi9. Skywalker5 was being sarcastic. |
At the end of the day the result will keep City in check to easily dispatch West Brom. I feared a draw could make City complacent. Something about that game makes me feel Chelsea is still the 2nd placed team but I guess we would know next week. |
