Ancelotti's predecessor's fault. ![]() |
Coutinho doing what I said he could for us. Meanwhile Isco is still putting the ball through the legs of players without any end product. |
Neymar1095:They should re-hire Jupp let him play the sexy balanced football he was playing when Basel FC beat him. Jupp's team was no different from the way PSG played against Carlo's Bayern; ceded possession and hit on the counter. How many seasons was he going to play that way that other teams in Europe won't have figured him out? Mou, Klopp, Fergie and even to some degree Pep got figured out subsequently. A real manager must be innovative and proactive. Conte is having a hard time now for this very fact. The smartest thing Jupp did was not coach another team after Bayern. If he even coached Bayern the season after his treble he would not have won the UCL. Revisionist nonsense wants to make it look like it was not via penalties he knocked out Mou's RM in 2011 or that he did not "struggle" to beat Stuttgart 3-2 in the DFB-Pokal final that treble year. If someone wants to talk about losing scandalously in a big game how about losing to the weakest Chelsea side in years, after going a goal up late in the game and missing a penalty on your home turf? How about losing to your arch rivals, Dortmund 5-2 in a final? I hate to do this to Jupp but he was not the Jupiter of managers that they are making him to be. They said same about Carlo on this thread and na here we dey when the Bayern board Dhalsim-ed him with "Yoga flames". ![]() |
Neymar1095:I told you to focus on the real fans not the fugazis. Problem is, the real fans will agree with you for the most part. Klopp's Dortmund this, Klopp's Dortmund that. Klopp's Dortmund were last in a group that had Arsenal, Marseille and Olympiacos with 4 fooking points. That same year they outstripped Jupp's Bayern to the title. Jupp has achieved the best ever season for Bayern and his team was super-balanced. But the narrative that his work was impeccable and someone else came to tarnish it is (to borrow their words) cold zobo. |
This Conte formation na one in town. They have basically set up to scatter the midfield and defend in numbers. Game go hard I won't lie. We can't let this sort of team score from a setpiece or before us as breaking them down after such will be two times difficult. It all whittles down to Gab, Sterling and Sane converting half chances. This will be the day that Gab registers his name FULLY in England. |
hoopLA:Oga, even you must know why Ruud had issues with Fergie. CR7 was a confirmed party boy and he was even giving out oloshos to his fellow Portuguese hombres like Nani and Anderson. Even long after Fergie banned them from partying, Ororo still travelled in crotches to the USA to lash Paris Hilton. If a manager like Fergie could not control that boy, what do you expect subtle Pep to do to Sergio? I remember one UCL game when Zlatan was still in PSG (and they had a game in Paris that evening) but Ib.ime or someone else saw him in a hotel in London (certainly with an olosho) in the afternoon. Players do that all the time. |
Tough game ahead. Mendy and Sergio will be missed no doubt. It still boils down to chance conversion regardless of who starts. They will have 1 or 2 of their own but if City converts theirs, it could end very well. |
Neymar1095:It is for the "likes" bro. People will do anything for it; change narratives, learn to use paragraphs even use non-existent words like "stuffs" for the "likes". |
pkasso:Actually, it is you "Bayern" fans that need to stop bringing him in. I saw 1 or 2 people blame him for Carlo's misfortune and I needed to set the record straight. Udo! |
Neymar1095:As if it is easy to motivate players who had just won a treble a season prior, to go on to win it again and again and again. They say he destroyed Gotze. They did not say he wanted a marquee player like Neymar but the board said no. They did not add that he wanted Sané and KDB in Bayern but the board felt they were too expensive. He was trying to build a team for them but they were forming frugal overlords. I am happy they got a better manager who would outdo everything he did and return them to the Jupp days of perpetual success and no failures or mistakes. I know Carlo Ancelotti will do it. Oh...wait! |
Neymar1095:Struggling with Porto FC Porto 3-1 Bayern Bayern 6-1 Porto Struggling with Shaktar Shaktar 0-0 Bayern Bayern 7-0 Shaktar Struggling with Arsenal Arsenal 0-2 Bayern Bayern 1-1 Arsenal Struggling with Man U (bear in mind, Prior to Pep Bayern had not beaten Man U by more than 2 clear goals apart from a friendly 17 years ago) Man U 1-1 Bayern Bayern 3-1 Man U Meanwhile, Jupp vs Arsenal Arsenal 1-3 Bayern Bayern 0-2 Arsenal How Ancelotti wished he could struggle like Pep. ![]() |
Neymar1095:The real fans know. You can check their comments on many fora and columns. The ones still spinning alternatives like Kelly Anne Conway are glory hunters many of which started in London and are almost camping at the Spanish capital now. |
My issue is that 4 people liked the post without even checking. Neymar can be accused of many things but not being less than Hazard na. Both players are good but Neymar is just more productive. |
stuff46:Used out of position is Lahm and not only did he play the role well he was deployed there as a contingency plan. The Mandzukic that was complaining he did not like the way he was being used scored 30 goals under Pep. Today he is playing Left wing back for Juve. There are certain monikers I advice you not to debate with as they just talk out their ärses. I don't mind if someone does not like Pep but be objective. That is all I ask them. How can anyone blame him for a team that nobody complained about last season? |
hensben:Again, if you have no facts don't speak. Jupp stays one more season and replicates Pep's first season and everyone will call him the best ever tactician. Zidane did UCL back to back but nobody recalls his first season Enrique won a double. You have not watched enough football to understand Pep's work in Bayern. The way Jupp is extolled one would think he won trebles back to back. The way his team improved in his subsequent seasons, Peps teams did too especially just before he left. Bayern had serious fear factor under Pep. Teams feared Bayern. Last season and this present one, the difference was clear. |
EvilMetahuman:If qualifying for a final is an achievement then why is Wenger berated? There is no moral victory matey, Jupp went trophyless his first season. Jupp did not leave a team that won 5 Bundesligas in a row. His team won (1), Pep (3) and Carlo (1). Pep got to 3 SFs back to back to back. Lost to a Madrid team that will go to win 3 UCLs. Lost to MSN in their prime after he contained them for 78mins without Ribery, Robben, Lahm, Lewa. That team was ravaged by injuries yet it took Messi's brilliance to unlock Bayern. He beat Barca in thee 2nd leg by the way. He finally lost to ATM in a match Simeone dubbed the hardest of his entire career. If only Muller would have scored his penalty when Bayern were a goal up in the first half. Pep is an innovator. He did not spoil any winning team. Jupp coached Bayern for 7 seasons and he won the league just 3 times. Pep did that 4 seasons fewer. Pep's Bayern was the most exciting for the most part and his players played for him. All the talk about leaving a pile of crap is what true Bayern fans will not agree with you. Kimmich was to replace Lahm (they also had Jupp's Rafinha). Bernat was deputizing for Alaba. Costa for Robben and Coman for Ribery. He 'yesed' Hummels before he left as well as Benatia, brought in Thiago Alcantra who is becoming a Xavi clone. If Pep was in Bayern he would have gone all out for Alexis and gotten him. Carlo brought in Renato, James, Tolisso and Rudy. Stop telling us crap about inheriting a weak team. This was Carlo's second season in Bayern why did he not sign replacements starting from when he came? If you want to give stick then direct it to the frugal Bayern board that did not give Pep Neymar but instead Goetze and told him KDB was too expensive. I don't want to turn this into a Pep debate so except I see anything profound in your rejoinder - I have to rest my case. Entitled Bayern fans complained about Pep's high line and susceptibility to counters. They got Carlo and not only was he far worse, his team had no flair and his players did not believe in him. Ask Robben who the greatest tactician he ever worked with is. |
FastShipping:The longest pile of rubbish I ever read on NL. No offense. Mandzukic was a player that did not like Pep. His Most successful ever season? Under Pep. Muller outscored his total tally under Jupp in each of his 3 seasons under Pep. If you don't have facts you are not mandated to post abeg. Pep destroyed a winning formation? The formation that went trophyless - hammered by Dortmund 5-2, lost 2-0 to Fvcking Arsenal at Allianz arena? Like I said it is not compulsory to chime in. Gustavo and Shaqiri? The ones setting the world on fire where they are now in Wolfsburg and Stoke? Just like Joe Hart is the best keeper in England? Who replaced Kroos who wanted money Pep told the board to pay him but refused? Try Xabi Alonso (Kroos' progenitor). Let me let who you quoted to respond to you or else I would just respond with vitriol. |
EvilMetahuman:Sorry but this is patently false. Yes, Jupp's team was balanced but he had 2 seasons before retiring and he won zilch in one and everything in the other. Pep's philosophy cannot be useless when he has a better win percentage than any other manager you respect. Your all attack no defense jibe too is neither here nor there. Jupp's treble winning team scored 98 and conceded 18 to Pep's 94 (23). They won the same number of games (29) and the same win percentage (85.29). Pep maintained Jupp's success in the league. (Bernat/Alaba), (Rafinha/Kimmich/Lahm), (Benatia/Hummels {was signed before Pep left}) (Coman/Ribery) (Douglas/ Robben) (Vidal&Thiago/Alonso) etc etc. If another manager cannot use them he should have bought his own. Terrible ageing team and signings is a myth. They defended Coman's scoring record here. Douglas was mega-productive under Pep. Time won't let me talk about Kimmich, Robben, Muller etc. He left because a team that did not win the UCL since 2001 before 2013, now felt it was their exclusive right to win it every year after 2013. They brought a "better and balanced" manager to do magic and like the Great Lafayette he died playing his own tricks. |
Fraud wanted to leave, Bayern board offered him €18m P.A to stay back. Better manager just stayed over a season they fired him. When Roma, Porto, Shaktar were chopping 7 and 6 without red card people say na because dem be Allie Haze. Today na so so moral victory dem dey celebrate. "We had more possession" "we did not play that badly". I wanted Carlo to stay for 3 seasons so there would be a proper juxtaposition between his tenure and the one that came before. Mans had other plans. Raheem Sterling has 9 goals already this season but Pep is a fraud. Meanwhile Thiago Alcantra don turn spheroid midfielder. Let me laugh in Catalonian. ![]() |
omotayos01:I remember comparing Coman to Oxlade and someone almost bit my ears off. |
omotayos01:They chased Alexis and gave up - I wondered why. He is now 10 times better than Ribery or any other winger in the team and could deputize as a striker if Lewa was out. The preseason games were showing signs. Liverpool, Inter etc hammered them. Then the season proper began and it was one drab performance after another. I admire the man, Carlo, but the issue was beyond his expertise. The previous manager was hiding cracks and keeping the dressing room yet some fans wanted him to win a treble every year to prove himself. Tüchel can do a good job on this team I have no doubt. Bayern could have a phenomenal season with him. Even the previous manager spotted him out as one of the managerial talents for the future. |
afrodoc2:I agree. Mia san Bayern. |
EvilMetahuman:He relates with players better. The other guy that was there destroyed everything. Muller, Coman, Kimmich will look like revelations very soon. Sometimes you need to go down to go up. |
pkasso:Carlo Ancelotti can never be wrong. He will fix things. Conte needed to lose 3-0 at Arsenal to get his ish together. Carlo will fix things. |
All that matters is that the players believe in their manager and respond to him. If anybody can turn things around, it is Carlo Ancelotti. |
He could still win the UCL this season. Remember Conte last season. |
VargasVee:Well, basketball, and not football is my dominant sport so I have seen alot of tall players to give a credible assessment of player's heights and Michy is nothing taller than 5'11". He is about an inch and a half taller than Azpi who is 5'9.5. To be sure, compare Michy to Azpi - and Drogba (listed 6'2.5" ) to Azpi. Drogba is atleast 5 inches taller than Azpi. So there is no way Michy is just an inch or an inch and a half shorter than Drogba. No way on earth. ESPN FC even listed Michy at 5'10" ![]() I agree that Courtois is taller than Zlatan. He also looks it. Builds don't deceive me. Imagine Dennis Bergkamp being listed at 6'0" with David Beckham ( ) yet Batshuayi is 6'1" according to those stats. LOL.Hahahaha. |
BlueAngel444:You would be surprised. Anyways, no matter what they "list" always compare it to what you can see and other players as well. |
VargasVee:Officially profiled by who? Is it not on this thread that people argued about Batshuayi being 6'1"? |
BlueAngel444:Actually between 188cm and 185cm you have an inch. But Diego is actually 184cm which makes him a strong 6'0". The other figures you see are reported based on boot and shoe heights. And yes, I can actually tell a player's height by juxtaposing his claims with others who have seen him or stood close to him. I can also do it with available pictures around. |
BlueAngel444:Costa is not 6'2". He is at best 6'0". David Luiz is a legitimate 6'2" and Drogba should be about 6'2.5". Both players are clearly taller than Costa. I also doubt Morata is 6'2". He looks 6'1". Drogba was also about an inch and a half taller than him when they stood together. Players lie a lot about their heights. Lukaku, Pogba etc. Matic who is a legit 6'4 (just like Fellaini) is taller than Lukaku and Pogba who claim to be that height. ![]() |
The braggadocio has begun. Very soon it will be that he has no help and he is surrounded by bums. Anyways, great interview by him concerning Kyrie, Cavs etc. He carried himself well. |

. So your view of their height is based on your opinion that they lied and how you see them on TV.
