Klay is off again tonight. Steph equally iffy. Noticeable slump in the performances of late. Kerr needs to break a board or something. Getting killed by an average Bulls team. Yeesh. |
A40:Horford is puzzling. I feel he can be doing more but I don't know what difference his more will make. I am just worried that I still feel Cleveland will sweep most of these teams playoff time thus giving them more rest than whoever comes out from the west. As per Matt Barnes, the only thing I am happy about is his enthusiasm to play for us. We can't afford to have 2 troublesome players come playoff time. |
Muna15:Lebron is marginally better than KD. I agree. But that's just about it. Every match-up is different and a lot of things need to be considered instead of just simplistically zeroing it down to W and L records. Sonics were so bad when KD was drafted that they couldn't beat anything even with a drum. Everyone knows KD is the most efficient scorer the league may have ever seen so that he puts up good numbers is immaterial. All I am asking you to do is critically look at his teams and juxtapose them with LeBron's, you'd see he barely stood a chance. For instance, there were a couple of times he lost and put up big numbers because Russell was injured. What magic was he going to perform? We can all see Russell carrying his team on his back yet he has picked 3 Ls against GSW and we know it is because in reality he stands no chance. If by some sort of serendipity Russell picks a couple Ws against GSW everyone will blame Kerr and his team more than give OKC credit so it doesn't matter if the Heats with Wade seemed to beat Cavs more often than not, if they met in the Playoffs it would have been a sweep. This is a side note, but what I find funny is how people want to defend LeBron's first stint in Cleveland and say he didn't have a good team hence the Ls he racked playoff time but if I mention KD not having a better team than Lebron, (hence the poor H2H) they say how he is talented and should be galvanizing his team to wins regardless of the opposition. Very funny I tell you. |
Muna15:If you are looking for an exercise to improve your reading ability perhaps my posts won't be a good place to start. If you are looking to exchange asinine posts as well, you can do that with the lady and keep the house entertained. Some dolt says KD has a bad record against Lebron (the person is attempting to extrapolate that record into GSW to justify why she doesn't fear him). I say to you that LeBron's teams have historically been better than KDs until GSW. You try to bring up WestBrook and Ibaka but even you know that's garbage. To remind you why that is, I play you LeBron's tape from Cleveland (first time) until last season. Why are you then referring me to more hot garbage from said dolt? Were Seattle Supersonics going to beat Lebron's Cavs that played Spurs in 07 NBA finals; Had 66 wins in 08/09 and played a conference final? Was OKC (with fledglings like Harden, WB and Ibaka) going to have a better head to head record against Lebron and his Miami Super team? Did Lebron come back to a talentless Cavs team that had worse players than KD and WB did in OKC? So WTF are you telling me about facts? See, I'd appreciate it if you limited my exchange with you to what you had to offer or better still, just ignore. I am great either ways. |
Muna15:Which Bron team is weak? The one that got to NBA finals in 2007? 66 wins and conference finals 2009? Miami heat of 2011-2014? Cavs of 2015- till date? Be careful where you get your data from. A couple greenhorns are posting stats that have no bearing to the discourse. |
Muna15:For a team that won 67 and 73 wins without KD and are currently 50-10 meaning they need another 19-4 to get 69 wins (19-4 they just did BTW before their loss to the Wizards yesterday). Can you count or is counting a fantasy as well? |
Muna15:So when did KD teams having those players become better than Lebron teams? I am listening. |
Muna15:Now that you have mentioned it, let me use this opportunity to dispel this misconception. The head to head has always been one sided because until now, Lebron always had the better team...CLEARLY. So let us relax that awful record bant once and for all. |
Muna15:When they won 67 and 73 wins, was KD there? Besides, that was a quip to say we would keep winning games even without him. |
birdman:Love was out well off and Kyrie went out in game 1 when they were sure-fire going to lose. I don't remember anyone celebrating it and it appeared GSW players were sympathetic because that game 2 was a gift to extend the series ![]() |
SmooshCHN:What is annoying me is the Kyrie/Love comparisons to KD. Let Cavs lose Lebron. That's the easiest way to compare. Anyways, the core of our bench are still there; Iggy, Shaun and now McGee to join. I don't like Barnes but he seems hyped about coming back to us so maybe he will do some numbers as he is ok a 3pt shooter and has meaningful defence. I fear Spurs or Rockets but we have the password to the Clippers such that even if we can't sweep them, We would still beat them, I wager in 6 games tops. |
Muna15:It did not stop us from getting a ring in 14/15. But of course it is not important as the 7-8 January record of the cabs wasn't a reason for the class captain to cry for more help. |
SIRcumalot:My worry was that I heard "Knee". |
^^ Playoffs is in June (the part we definitely cannot play without him). KD will be back by April. Quote me. Obviously the games will be alot harder without him but we can weather the storm until Rockets or Spurs. It doesn't mean we cant beat both teams, it will just be 10 times harder. We definitely can't beat the Cavs and their present roster without him. |
Good news. It is a partial tear and he will be revaluated after 4 weeks. Beasley suffered the same injury against Cavs and was back in 3 weeks. I hope KD rests well and is fresh in 7 weeks. If my memory serves me well, Bogut had the same injury in game 5 and was available for Australia in the Olympics. So let us refocus on getting 69 wins atleast. I need the January version of Curry back now that he will become the primary scorer again. "Satan shame unto you, all power belongs to Jesus" ![]() |
noob03saibot:Absolute rubbish but it was purely consolatory same way Kendrick winning it for "I" was rubbish the previous year. Drake (with NWTS) should have gotten rap album of the year the year that Macklemore got it (they only had a better rap song/single). Kendrick deserved to be the best Rap artist of that year but Macklemore got it as well. To compensate Kendrick, they gave him best rap song the following year for "I" which to me, was rubbish as I felt Drake again deserved it with 0-100. To compensate Drake they decided to give him best rap song for "Hotline Bling" which wasn't a rap song. The reality is, I don't take the Grammys too seriously anymore. Nas has never won any yet Jay-Z has 21. |
SmooshCHN:I didn't know you posted this. You said exactly what I was going to. I am going to pray for him today. It will be unfair if he is out totally bro. How you see the game yesterday? |
Skywalker5:Some ESPN commentators are saying it is not as bad as first feared. I hope the MRI agrees with them. We lost 3 players for KD it will be unfair to lose him (playoff time). If he doesn't come back, we may not beat Rockets or Spurs should we meet never mind Cavs. I have to switch to religious mode and hope KD comes back in time for the playoffs. I couldn't care less about the regular season because we would be good. We came back from 19pts against a good Wizards team, despite a back to back and the shock of losing KD a minute into the game. Klay shoots slightly better and we win that game. It was a bad shooting night across board. KD, take my knees. I don't need them. I work with my brain and my hands. |
noob03saibot:He does not become a rapper in your books based on your own rules. If any of those other rappers you know could sing, they would have been singing that's just the truth. Your argument that he does not sing like Adele and Taylor Swift does not cut it because there is no rap song where those 2 featured on, that is bigger than any Drake song. Which means, he is better doing what he does, than featuring people who will ultimately not improve him. For evidence look for Adele's track with Tyga and Taylor's track with B.O.B. Both fell flat. |
raumdeuter:1. Yea, you are right Henry was 20. But that's just about the only thing you said that was right. Henry's performance for Monaco led him to be selected into the national team, yes, but his performance in a 2-1 win against SA in 1997 was what led Jaquet to select him in the WC team. "Within four months, France head coach Aimé Jacquet called Henry up to the senior team. The 20-year-old made his senior international debut on 11 October 1997 in a 2–1 win against South Africa.[64] Jacquet was so impressed with Henry that he took him to the 1998 FIFA World Cup. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry Which is an aside from the fact that he was a largely unknown player even at the time. Besides, Ronaldo was about a year older than Henry, better known, a WPOTY yet he scored 4 goals only one above a player you claimed choked. 1b. Again Henry was not dropped for performance any more than Zlatan was dropped for same under Pep. To prove my point, he played in each and every game apart from the finals because of the Desailly red card. Henry was usually the first sub ahead of Trezeguet or any other forward and Henry himself stated why he was not starting after the 2nd round game against Paraguay. Listen to him: At the start of that tournament the boss put out youngsters who were not scared and that was fine, but then he chose to go for experience in the quarter-final, semi-final and final. https://www.google.com.ng/amp/www.mirror.co.uk/news/uk-news/henry-ill-make-up-for-agony-632857.amp How can you claim he was underperforming when the CF who became the starter scored not a single goal all WC long? 2. How many WC finals did Henry play? Can you bring gifs of him missing chances in both WC finals? What about Euro Cup finals? I like how the Confed cup in which Henry was the highest goal scorer means nothing because he scored but would have meant a great deal had he not scored. 3. I have no problem about a MOTM not scoring. You are the one who tried to claim that was the definition of choking. To that end, we can throw away your Henry choked in UCL 06 final seeing that he assisted AFCs solitary goal? We can also throw away any final in which Henry played, did not score but his team won or else UEFA would have to be drunk for announcing Totti and Iniesta players of the respective Tournaments? Again, Bringing Messi 09 and 11 does count at all. I wonder why you think it does. Messi did not choke to me in 15 even if he did not score so your logic that a player not scoring in a final means he choked is excluded based on sound logic. 4. I never claimed he took the ball from his half at any point. But there was a particular one where he received a pass, took on the last defender-leaving him for dead then facing Westerveld who sprawled to the ground to make a last-ditch save. Same as against Barca, Henry received a pass from an uncomfortable angle, made a quick-sleek turn leaving whoever was marking him in his wake, with Valdez having to make one of the saves of a UCL final. 5. Sorry but Valdez saved the on-target shots (I have to put a period here) 6. So funny. I just told you Totti did not score in the final. Why are you showing me goals leading to the final? Did Henry not score in the semi's in that same tourney? 7. So going by your logic, if Robben had scored his penalty Drogba's goal won't be inconsequential? FYI, I have nothing against Drogba. But he did not score for Ivory Coast in any final nor did he help CFC in 08. So imagine someone holding unto the latter 2 instances to call him a choke artist. That's what you are trying to do with Henry. 8. No you did not. You are showing me Keepers making great saves and defenders making life-saving blocks. I need to see howlers, missteps, blown penalties etc. Not a gif about a UCL 06 final that AFC won't even get to without Henry. It is comical. 9. This had to be the funniest thing you said. So Cech making saves did not keep his team in the game in 12/13. Muller missing chances did not help CFC either but when Valdez makes a great save it is because Henry choked? And who was comparing The confed cup to the CL? You asked when Henry had led his team to win any trophy without Zidane, I showed you one, immediately you started comparing it to the champions league and bringing Drogba in. How did we get there? ![]() |
Skywalker5:He may be out for 6 months or less. Some other player too may get injured. These things happen. |
I saw the L. I accept it. Stoopid Turnovers and sloppy play. No chance of a 73 win season. Klay had a bad 4th quarter. We missed KD. |
Curry and all the stoopid behind the back passes. Yeesh. |
I tuned into this game late. What happened to KD? Meanwhile, Klay is stinking up the joint and the refs are calling these reaching fouls too easily. |
The game feels like an L. |
raumdeuter:1. LOL. Simply false. Stephanie Guivarch was the experienced vet which everyone thought would lead France into glory. Henry was the 18 year old that was taken because of a performance against South Africa. Henry was like Martial in Euro 16 and Guivarch was like Benzema. There is no spin you can give to it. Henry was even registered as a wing forward because that was the role he played for Monaco. He overperformed by scoring 3 goals. So if Benzema is underperforming but his coach starts him against Brazil in a WC final against Martial (who they registered as a wing forward) it is because he is mentally weak or chokes? Also, I used Zlatan to show a coach could bench a player for reasons other than football. 2. That's what you should ask yourself. If every striker is to score every chance they get then why were people calling for Bravo's head? 3. Ask anyone who watched it? Try me for example. Henry does not choke by one NLders opinion. If it was as glaring as you claimed, then why do some people rate him as the MOTM of the finals of the tournament? At least you have accepted he equalized for France in the Semis and led his team again on the scorers chat. More so, when I said I did not care who the official MOTM was, I said it from the angle that nobody can claim Henry choked (seeing that some others felt he deserved to be given the award). Also, the gif on Henry's run is disingenuous. I can also bring gifs of Messi losing the ball on many occasions against Juve in 2015 UCL finals + he did not score. So I can claim he choked as well in that game even when he was voted MOTM? 4. This is not a Drogba vs Henry. I can as well say Neuer was poor for not saving a routine header from a corner kick but that will be simplistic. I am sure the chances you claim Henry did not make did not include his quick runs in-behind the defense? His dribbles around the last CB before facing the keeper? His control of the ball before his positioning to receive a quick one-two? 5. Apples and Oranges. So when France were winning quarter final games by Penalties Zidane choked because he did not assist or score during the regular time? Or Sanchez did not choke against Bayern because he rebounded a penalty he missed? So how did Henry still choke in UCL 06 when he assisted the goal AFC scored? 6. So what goal did Totti score in 2000? Which means he choked as he did not score when it mattered. That's the kind of argument you are making. 7. So there is no footage of Drogba making shots even Almunia would have saved with his feet in a final? How does that take away from his overall performance in that very final? 8. So why are keepers put there? You would have a case if Henry fluffed it by shooting it above the bar or off target. Valdez saved those chances. That's the only thing to take away. 9. LOL. So because RM beat Leverkusen in a UCL final it meant less than Barca who needed to beat Juventus to win it? How does that work? A Confederations cup is a Confederations cup. |
Also, concerning Remy Ma and Nicki. At this point, if Nicki rushes and responds but it doesn't fly, she will take a double L. I want her to respond but she needs to do it in a way that it will swing the momentum fully in her way. To do that, she has to make the diss track a sellable single and put it on her album such that her success in terms of total albums and singles sold will help. Any other thing will make her appear like she took a big L. |
noob03saibot:Yea, that's the message I was passing about Drake; that he wasn't gifted things free of. He even said it in Star67 a track on IYRTITL I was on TV makin' fifty racks a year/After helpin' mama out the sh-t would disappear and in the track Views on "Views": They think I had the silver spoon but they'll get it soon/I still got somethin' left to prove since you left me room As you can see from me quoting Drake's lines, he is currently my favorite artiste so I guess I am going to say he is a better rapper than Meek Mill and the evidence is clear. One of the stick Drake gets is that he mixes styles alot and can do rap, hiphop, pop, dancehall and R&B but the reality is that he does them because he can. Alot of the people who give him stick are artists who still feature people to sing choruses for them because they can't do it themselves- but Drake can. Also, Drake's style is adaptable so he can blend into many Genres and rap beats but Meek Mill is one directional and sounds the same way in all songs. Sure, MeekMill can rap off the top which Drake can't, but that's about where the comparison stops. Peering through Drakes lyrics and bars and juxtaposing it with Meek's, it is clear Drake is better lyrically (only that he doesn't do it enough to impress hiphop heads). In the 2 tracks where Drake and Meek presented verses, Drake trumped Meek both times- in "Amen" and "R.I.C.O". Drake also clearly outrapped K.dot in "Poetic Justice" and even if "Fuckïng Problems" was polarized, Drake held his own again against K.dot whom many feel is a superior lyricist. He also outrapped J.Cole on "In the Morning" even though J.Cole would revenge on "Jodecci Freestyle". Look at Drake when he went against Common in "Stay Schemin". He basically crushed a legend in many people's eyes such that even when Common responded, it didn't fly. Drake is a lot wittier and clever with his bars than many people are ready to admit (See "No lie" with 2Chainz and "Pop that" with French Montana/Ross/Wayne). If you doubt it, listen to all his singles that have time stamps with them like "9AM in Dallas", "6PM in New York", "5AM in Toronto" and "4PM in Calabasas" or even 30 for 30 on his mixtape with Future titled "WATTBA". If you want to listen to the Lyrical Drake then you may have to go back to his early mixtapes such as Comeback Season which had him rapping all through for the most part with little to no singing. |
raumdeuter:1. That is like me saying since Zlatan was scoring goals for Pep, why did Pep fail to start him against Inter? Your argument about him being mentally weak is conjecture because he wasn't supposed to be a starter. He was one of the substitute forwards for Guivarch. And he ended up outdoing everyone else so nobody can accuse him of choking. 2. There are also many places the keeper could have dived to. Also, if a player misses a better chance than another, of course he is allowed to take a brunt of the blames. 3. I don't even care who was the official MOTM as well. Henry scored more goals than Totti (who did not score in the finals as well) besides, I was trying to show you that some others felt he played well enough to be the MOTM (which renders your choking accusations null and void again). 4. You are showing me chances were the keeper and (defenders) made saves and blocks respectively. Half the time, those chances were created by Henry's runs or skill. So how is he choking when you are seeing him playing well and forcing saves of the keeper in the highlight reel? 5. How can a top scorer in the competitions you mentioned choke. Okay so in 2003 FA Cup final where he was voted MOTM too did he choke? Or that final does not count because it was the FA cup? 6. Should we check between the two who has scored more free kicks or even penalties? Again, Henry could not have choked when his brilliant run created the Penalty. Or could Zidane make the same run? 7. No. The commentator said it to prove that from the 2nd half, the game had become a Thierry show as he was leaving Gattuso and at some point Cannavaro in his wake, whilst forcing saves and last ditch tackles of the italian defense. 8. Again Valdez is making saves. Also show the cross that put Sol Campbell with a neat header to put AFC ahead. A choke master put in the cross. 9. That is a tournament placing the winners of their respective football continents against themselves. If it was enough for Spain to lose twice and wail about, then it is big enough for Henry and France to celebrate. |
raumdeuter:1. That is a question for Roger Lemerre. Guivarch who was preferred in that final had zero goals in that WC compared to the young Henry who had (3) and was top scorer for France. 2. That was a save not a missed chance. The ball was going in, the keeper saved it. If I remember that game clearly, Kanu missed a sitter not once but twice. Besides, It is possible AFC created more chances from the 75th minute or no? 3. No Bruh. Against Portugal Henry scored the equalizer and Zidane the winner. Henry was also France's top scorer in the tournament again with (3) goals. As per MOTM (Just like the City vs Monaco game that had some sites call Aguero the MOTM and others said Sané), I guess that had to have happened in 2000 because different sites have said different things. Totti (thrash because his team lost), Zidane and Henry. Don't take my word for it. Look it up. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Thierry_Henry This is the actual quote "France went on to defeat Italy in extra-time in the final, earning Henry his second major international medal.[69] During the tournament, Henry was voted man of the match in three games, including the final against Italy." 4. Nope, AFC were just the better team but Henry didn't have clearer chances. Grimandi and Ljunberg did. 5. Just the same way Zidane was never top scorer or even top assister for France in many major tournaments. He always needed the services of others around him. Besides, 2003 without Zidane, Henry was voted best player of Confederations cup and he led France to win it- scoring in the final. 6. France barely created chances for all their possession. But Henry won Zidane the penalty. So without Henry, Zidane doesn't score that penalty. Simple. 7. Quote from BBC "RATER POLL: Goals clearly talk as far as your ratings go, with Zinedine Zidane and Marco Materazzi leading their respective team ratings. But Thierry Henry is racing up the rating order, perhaps a sign that he is about to produce the killer blow? http://news.bbc.co.uk/sport2/hi/football/world_cup_2006/5148796.stm 8. The argument goes either ways that's the point. Henry created the assist for Sol Campbell and Drogba needed Robben to miss a penalty for his heroics to work. 9. 2003 Confederations cup. ![]() |
raumdeuter:Oga Dayo, history begs to differ: 1. He wasn't dropped. Guivarch (who scored zilch by the way) was the leading striker for France all through 98 even though Henry led all scorers on the team. He was to be brought on until Desailly got a red card which forced France to make another substitution. 2. Kanu blew more chances than Henry besides that was his first season as a striker. He even said so himself. 3. Myth. Henry helped France qualify past the semis and was unstoppable in the final. He was voted MOTM. 4. He had a clear penalty ruled off. Sure he missed 2 chances (he created them by himself) but they were more like saves from Westerveld and Ljunberg fluffed the rebounds twice I think. LFC were lucky simple. 5. Can't be pinned to him. Sorry. 6. Another myth. France for all their possession could not create a worthy chance and Trezeguet was the one who missed a chance if memory serves me well. Henry was unmarkable especially in the 2nd half and won the penalty that Zizou would convert for France to win. 7. LOL. So untrue. Besides, France outplayed Italy even in Zidane's absence till they lost on penalties and again Henry was unmarkable. He made many darting runs and would have been MOTM had France won (bone Zizou and Materrazzi) but he suffered cramps towards the end of the game and was subbed for Wiltord. Trezeguet Choked and missed a penalty and France lost. 8. Fair. But Ronaldinho choked too besides Henry had the assist for Sol Campbell's goal. 9. France sucked cheese but the only goal they scored in that tournament was from Henry. Besides, he deserved a Penalty against Holland which wasn't given. |
noob03saibot:That Ebro line was already started by Ebro himself (Hence why Nicki and later Drake took issues with him). He has a history of falsifying stories just to garner viewership for his failing radio show on Hot 97. Even Jay-Z has called them to warn them about using his name to start up rumors. I guess what I am trying to say is the Ebro line is a lie but it made for a good jab lyrically. Of course, Drake would not join Nicki in a rap battle against Remy Ma and that's because unlike Lil Kim, Remy played the beef thing well. She spoke well of Drake all through the song to give him every reason to be neutral and also because when Meek and Drake had their thing, Nicki took Meek's side and did not talk to Drake all through till she broke up with Meek. If you listened to Drake's song on "Views" called 'Keep the Family close' he alluded to it. |
