helpee: i won't be tired of educating you. if police is guarding a car and the car is stolen, the first person that will be arrested is the police officer guarding it. your logic is defective that is even if you did one in school. the custom officer in this case is an accomplice by accepting to collect lesser duty. in the case of a missing vehicle police is not there. So these are two separate issues. moreso, the custom officers deliberately allowed the duty to be stolen because it is impossible to clear the vehicle from the port without an accomplice in custom. so unlike police and car theft, duty theft can be 100 percent eradicated simply by flushing out corrupt custom officers. you got it dunce? "The first person that will be arrested is the Police guarding the car"- yes, in an idiotic alternate world filled with dunces like you. Especially when you have apprehended the thief and are now asking him where he hid the car. Your argument is that we should not bother about the missing car or the thief and focus on the Police officer who could not prevent the car from being stolen. In other news, blame the NNPC officials for not reporting that Andrew Yakubu stole money. Blame Deltans (and not the court) for Ibori going scot-free in Nigeria despite looting his state blind. You are really educating me. |

Ibime: Sorry, fouling is only the 2nd option. In the first place, he should never have been dispossessed. In that situation, a midfielder should easily throw his leg across the player breathing on him, stick his nyash out, and there is no way he would be dispossessed if he "full ground". In Naija that's where we use the terminology "that midfielder dey ground" ie hes got his body position, his core strength and his centre of balance right to ride pressure from behind.
Unfortunately Fabregas has a dangerous habit of turning over possession under physical pressure, too dangerous for me to feel comfortable with him playing that deep. That's why I prefer him in AM where his runs and finishing are 2nd to none. He did it several times last season leading to dangerous situations at our backline. Conte spotted that and removed him from the pivot where such actions are dangerous, and rightly so. Even 2 years ago in our victorious season, I particularly recalled this one that led to Schalke equaliser in UCL.
This is why when he was asked if he can replicate the Pirlo role for Conte in the summer, he said he can't. Not because he can't replicate Pirlos long passes, but because he can't ensure he won't get dispossessed in dangerous areas of the pitch unlike Pirlo.
This was the one that led to Schalke goal for example. Midfielder should be riding that sort of pressure from behind easily. I can't argue with this because it makes sense however, the West Ham game is not a worthy example of a situation where Fabregas was dispossessed or dominated in midfield and that's the position I offered/am offering. The pass from Azpi was too heavy and behind Fabregas who was out-muscled by a stronger Andy Carroll (who would have out-muscled Matic or Xavi in the same situation) freeing a fresher Andre Ayew to win the ball, run and pass the ball to Lanzini who was being marked by Matic at the time. If I am to borrow the line of your argument, then Matic should have been physically dominant and quick enough to nudge Lanzini off his stride or foul him and take a yellow for the team- thus preventing the goal. It can work that way in slow motion or hindsight but not in real time. Sure, Fab has his lapses but so does Matic. End off. |

Where is the paper used to clear saraki vehicle? custom should have records . who cleared it? why clear it without collecting proper duty? I am not a custom officer so it is not my duty to ensure I pay proper duty cos I don't even know proper duty. it is the duty of fraudulent custom officers so Ali should rather deal with corrupt custom officers and all these will stop. If I buy a vehicle from a dealer it is expected the dealer paid duty. I can't be punished for an offence committed by customs themselves. that is what we are saying mr Your stoopidity knows no bounds. All the questions you are asking are the questions that made Customs confiscate the car I.e because they saw that the previous govt or better still sullied customs officials did a botched job and let Saraki go free with financial criminality. This new govt or CGC has decided to correct the ills by making sure Saraki pays the correct duty that behoves the car in question. Stop trying to force me into educating you. helpee: use your sense too. How did the car bought for 298million scaled through customs ? sarski did not manufacture it in his bedroom. this news is just vendetta. As recently as two weeks ago, I wanted to buy a Nigerian used 2014 ford explorer . The seller is a young naval officer. the car was cleared via cotonue with no duty paid whatsoever. the man said nobody would disturb me once I tell them he was the first user in nigeria that military men no dey pay duty. How could I buy a vehicle for 8.5million only to be telling customs it was used by a naval officer. na so I quick go buy tokunbo jeje with 10 5million even though na 2013. so the bottom line is all the men in uniform and in high places including custom officials no dey pay duty. Lawless country Stop asking stupid questions. The car was not purchased when Hameed Ali was the CGC so Mr Saraki was free to do anything. Under the Colonel, the car was routinely stopped to check for proper documentation which the driver couldn't provide so it was confiscated. When the driver presented the papers for the car, it was a fake, seeing that the duties paid were far less than the valuation of the car - more so, the paper presented was issued for another less expensive car and not the one that is currently owned by Saraki. The customs is of the same status as the Nigeria Police and Immigration(Section 8 of the Customs Act). If the heads of these organisations put on the uniforms then what is d special thing about Ali? A former Army Colonel? Did he not realise that d customs was a uniform service before taking up his appointment? He represents the office by discharging his duties without fear or favor and not by wearing a uniform. The former army General that wore FRSC uniform how good a provost Marshall was he? Why won't Nigerians concentrate on what is important? Besides, Uniform wearing pertains to career Customs officers and not political appointees which Colonel Hameed is. As a result, he is not mandated to wear any uniform just to play to the gallery or pander to the whims of the dolts in the Hallow chambers. |

I also don't think that appearing in the uniform of the CG of Customs as required by the Senate should be too much for one who supposedly has d interest of Nigeria at heart.
Why did he hurriedly suspend d policy if it was well thought out? Why are we hearing this news now? This happened on January, why was it hushed? Is it some kind of smear campaign? Ali's pride stands larger than his diminutive self and that is what d Senate has sniffed out n latched upon if this story is anything to go by. So James deserves the season MVP, yeah? yeah! An argument can be made for him and I said so (I said he has an outside chance). Unfortunately, 2 things work against him; 1. He has won it 4 times 2. His team is pretty much achieving what everyone expected of them or maybe even slightly underperforming so there is not much spark to it. For someone like LBJ to win it again, he would need to do outrageous numbers at an equally outrageous efficiency and Cavs will need to win 70+ games etc. Won't happen. |

You people should calm down with the hyperboles. Arsenal had 70%+ of the ball, 600+ more passes than West brom and dominated the game in the literal sense. In their defense, West Brom's second goal should have been ruled off. The West Bromwich player that was offside clearly participated in the play by pushing Bellerin.
That being said, Wenger's ineptitude and tactical bereftment cost his side a vital win today against a flailing WestBrom side. I think the signs are clear that he should leave honorably come season end. |

sapiosexual1: Brother projections are done based on potentials and previous stats of the players in the team. We've said it here time and again that opinions change with every passing game. > Who would have projected that Curry would struggle soo badly this season? (what we now infamously refer to as mental aspect of his game strength > Who would have projected that Cavs would even entertain a discussion on possibly sacrificing top spot for play off longetivity. > Who would have projected that WB would be on a crazy roll of TDs (though leftists say he pads the stats)
Long story short, pre-season projections shouldn't form part of judgment or fulcrum of argument. This has been a rather interesting season and the playoffs may yet bring more surprises. How can projections not be pivotal to the argument? Pundits and experts looked at teams based on personnel and projected their season expectations based on what they observed. One team is punching way way above what experts projected but the player majorly responsible for that should not be the MVP - it should be another player whose team is either underperforming or at best performing at the level that was expected of them simply because he is averaging triple doubles? See I ignored the Curry aspect? Curry's stats are better than it was when he won his first MVP title yet his "fan boys" never called him the MVP. It is played out for his "non-fan boys" to keep bringing him in. This is about Harden and WB. |

Fighting your bigs is still a no no for me but doesn't change the fact that he's a beast. I said same. He is a beast but calm down with the triple double jibes. Let me tell you something I just researched. ESPN ranked teams preseason and guess where they projected OKC to be in the west? 4th. Guess where Houston were projected to be? 9th. You can check other rankings. NBA projected Houston 5th and OKC 6th. Yet all I keep hearing is how Harden has better players. Better players that nobody saw them to be when the season began. |

SIRcumalot: once you start trying to define what MVP means you going down a rabbit hole not many will follow. their is a reason why the league didn't really define it and allow for a very broad interpretation. It is not even a definition. Every team has an MVP. Which MVP is more "MVP" than the other that's what I am saying. Take away triple double but keep OKCs winning record and WBs PPG and he would fall down the pecking order in this MVP debate. |
Sports › Re: The NBA Begins by Eruditor: 4:45pm On Mar 18, 2017 |
SIRcumalot: his not a top 5 PF this season. kawhi will get it best lock down defender on his team and first scoring option. KD yes, ibaka no.my argument is simply,OKC got the better of that trade if they wanted to keep him he'll still be a thunder and the magic had to take another loss again just to get rid of him. so you agree that his padding those number particularly the rebounds ? WB is leading in uncontested rebounds. Which means his players basically give way for him to get the rebounds. He is a top 2 player this year and perhaps the best player according to individual stats but it is a different argument to say he is the MOST VALUABLE player. He is not. The nomenclature even spells it out: he is the most valuable player to his organisation sure but what is his value WRT the league standing? Harden is the most valuable player to his organisation and he has lifted them to 3rd in a difficult west. He is clearly the MOST VALUABLE player when juxtaposed with WB. |
