both teams made the finals last year. they know they probably will again and the target is on their backs. Regardless of how hard it looks like they are playing, I assure you they are coasting on star power, trying to end the season without getting injured, getting mentally tired and giving away plays. They are going to try and win no 1 seed if they can. But they know 2 or 3 seed is no biggie. warriors especially know they have a slugfest coming up. Cavs are going to get punched in the mouth a couple of times, maybe knock some teeth loose grin. Half the coaching staff is probably drawing up plays and matchups even now.
Brother man, they are not coasting o. There is fire on the mountain. A palpable one. I know you know better than to claim this season mirrors the last 2 because it doesn't. At this point, Bron was being rested here and there which was precipitating the odd inconsistent losses here and there not this drove.

The only reason Cavs still have a great chance is Bron, weak conference and NBA. With this form, they literally drop to 4th seed in the West and even if by some chance they see Semi or even WCF, they would do it with bandaids on every part of their bodies and tired legs. And you know Lebron is not as young as he used to be.

They need that big man in the center to help defensively. This was clear way early into the season.

You don't have any SAS breathing down your necks that's why. That is not a team you want to gift home court to during what is sure to be a 7 game slugfest.

I know you was expecting Jr Smith return would change 2-5 in the last 7 games. Back to Back to Back Ls. Cavs and Warriors have been struggling of late. With their 'depth" Cavs should be good.
It is always that absent player that is the reason Cavs lost. Not the coach; star players not doing enough; opposition defense good; opposition offense good etc. LOL. Always that missing player. Funny stuff.

You did not watch the game, yet you have made conclusions based off stats. Did your stat sheet show you Kerr's tactics for each quarter? or the adjustments Kerr made if any?

Did your stat sheet/ game summary tell you how Jay Crowder made consecutive 3's because the Warriors were everywhere but away from him?

Did your stat sheet inform you the Warriors did not lose because of a shooting slump, but because the Celtics played better defense? or that defensive stops from the Celtics led to consecutive points that stretched the lead?

Eastern conference teams average 100 points or less in victories, while Golden state averages 117 in win, yet in 2 of the 3 losses the Warriors were held to 87 points and below, while opponents averaged 99 points and above except the Bulls. In your book, the Warriors are bad because their offense has been poor, however, that is one myopic way of looking at the games.

Do yourself some good by scrolling through the pages of this thread and educate yourself about my perspective on Kerr, and the Warriors. In the past i have praised Kerr, however, i have never failed to call out his rigidity in tactics and ineptitude when the tide is different. If anything i have a Warriors bias in comparison to the Cavs, however, it should not becloud my sense of judgement when analyzing games.

Truthfully, i am not sure why Arsenal is necessary in this conversation, it only distracts your points if any and makes you sound too emotional.
This is jibbyjabber. I know your position on the Warriors and Kerr but Kerr does not become a bad coach for losing to the Celtics anymore than Brad Stevens became one when Phoenix beat you guys.

With that said, you don't get a monopoly on what does not seem to be clicking about GSW. I know my team and I watch them thus my judgment is lucid enough and has been that way even before overreaching EC teams picked wins against them.

See that thing you call myopic? That's the consensus on GSW threads, Reddit columns and ESPN comment boxes. My guess is we should hire you to see what Kerr and his rigidity won't see.

As per how the game went yesternight, I guess Chicago Bulls played great defense too when Klay was bricking wide open 3s and layups in the 4th quarter enroute to GSW scoring only 12 points in that quarter. Analysis to Paralysis or is it Paralysis of Analysis is a bane in our social space.

The --> cheesy at the end of that tongue in cheek comment wasn't there to occupy space. I know full well that you an ardent supporter of both AFC and the Celts and since one hurt you, it was only right that I celebrated the one that gave you joy yesterday. Similar to me who supports FCB and GSW. That I had to even explain that last sentence makes me wonder if someone is posting through your moniker.

I was watching the game and thought we had it and slept off.. Our offense isn't what it used to be. Curry and Klay are the only shooter we have now. Green didn't even attempt wide open 3s neither did he really attack the basket. Other guys can't shoot a jumpshot to save their lives or even create their offense. On Defense we were OK, forget whatever it is anyone here was saying. They offense stunk and we ain't moving the ball like we used to.
Bro, other GSW fans said it. I read posts on reddit like 5 mins ago. The same things you are saying now is what they said.

One person said we are running the same offense we did when KD was around, only that KD is not here. I remember January when we played more PnRs with Curry and we were blitzing teams. Then Kerr switched back to accommodate KD more in February and he picked an injury now we are here; From averaging 119ppg we are now 87 and 86 in 2 of our last 4 games, that just shows an offensive slump of the grandest proportions.

Klay playing with the 2nd line up doesn't cut it too especially when teams set out to mark him and Iggy and co can't shoot for sh-t. Shaun Livingston is another really major letdown. He has been bricking since the Wizards.

Perhaps Curry may need to force more shots or drives (Like Russell does) since he is currently scoring with Russell's efficiency (sh-t, that's what I mean cheesy ). I can't believe an MVP takes only 1 shot in the 4th quarter when your offense is stagnant.

I need to read epistles from Warrior fans on this loss.

have said it before, even though some will disagree, Steve Kerr is very poor for such a talented team. Again, where is the defense?

Awaiting epistles..

The Warriors and the Cavs stink right now.

Kerr is poor when he looses then has good players when he wins. You can't make things like this up.

Anyways, it was a late game so I couldn't stay up to watch it hence I can't tell what really happened. The figures show it was an offensive rather than a defensive slump with an 86 point home game, 8 TOs 4th quarter and 12 points to show for it.

Again, the team bottles another close game because a bench has garbage shooters and the greater shooters which Klay and Curry are, are going through their worst shooting run since forever.

You are not telling us something we didn't know. GSW has been bad for the last 6 games atleast and I said that, even when we beat the Knicks.

Take your W and walk with it. Hope it makes up for what AFC did to you on Tuesday. GSWs implosion and possible slide to second seed will not take away the joy that Barca brought to me yesterday cheesy

TO YOU GUYS, EVERYTHING IS SCRIPTED ESPECIALLY IF IT DOESN'T FAVOUR YOU...
YOU CAN CONTINUE WITH SUCH MENTALITY..
BBN MIGHT BE UP NEXT YEAR AND A LOTTA PEOPLE WOULD STILL APPLY
Hold up, this is my 2nd post on this thread as I barely follow the show. It was my friends' gist that led me to post here. I really don't know much about Efe and I do not care who wins. If my friend was in the house, sure, I would have wanted him to win.

You are right that many people will still apply next time around and one thing is for sure, BB will not select this type of people again into the house as they are all projecting an image way less than what they sold to BB enroute to getting into the house. For example, my friend told me BB made them say stories about the most perverted things they have done; how many sexual partners they have had, their favorite sex positions etc. And I can tell you that it was those with the baddest and vilest stories that got into the house. People who told biggie they could throw anyone under the bus for the money. People who said they had betrayed friends and slept with their boyfriends or girlfriends. It was this image that Biggie hoped to see in the house; sexual exploits, backstabbing; perversion and so on.

But what are we seeing? Barely any of those things (only in pockets). People are forming unions and nominating themselves. Biggie has to force them to play "truth or dear" for anything remotely sexual to happen and has to remind them each time that they are playing a game. Many of them are not displaying the images they claimed they had that got them into the house. To counter this behavior, Biggie has to script somethings. Force some fights and introduce new measures like the new housemates (My friend said he met John and Ese during the auditions and he was very close to Uriel (Lagos). Said he also knew Kemen did his in Ph) yet when they met in the house Ese and John pretended like they didn't know Kemen before the house, even when they did.

I have a lot to say, but no need because you think I have any fish to fry. Just take note that all the housemates are acting fake including your Efe. If he wasn't, he ought to be smoking and trying to sleep with all the girls in the house because that was the impression he created before going in.
TV/Movies › Re: Big Brother Naija 2017: Live Thread by Eruditor: 4:27pm On Mar 08, 2017
I don't really follow BBNaija but I have a friend who went through with all the auditions and was dropped at the latter stage. Because of that, I have gained some insight into BB based on his experience during the auditions.

Before I say more, in a way I agree with ovoP and Ndifreke. Not that I know who will win the show but that it is well-scripted.

For one, I am convinced BB have in mind who they think can represent their brand well and in that case your popularity votes especially when the show gets to the final days will not count as the show must select someone who will represent them well. The reason they have to do this is because they have made mistakes with some previous winners (when votes counted- especially the first ever BB Africa and Naija) and will hope to change it now.

In the very first edition, I think the show wished Ebuka and not Katung won. Look at how their careers have gone, Ebuka has been a reference point for BB participants more than Katung. I am not despoiling Katung's own respectable standing but really, Ebuka just outdoes him in every thing; from the celebrity friends, the talk show, fashion sense, looks and even wife choice and grandeur of personality . I believe BB Naija hopes to emulate such a choice this time around.

To that end, I suspect either TTT, Tboss, Bally and Bisola could win it in that order. It is not about who I prefer but just who seems to have the potential to represent their brand well. Personally, I felt Bisola had the Je ne se quois, but she is not easy on the eyes and seems a bit loud and erratic for the role. TBoss has the looks and attention that the brand may want even though she is a tad bit too laid back (pretentiously so). TTT has what they want; he is playing the game well. Misleading people, throwing some under the bus, telling lies etc. He seems like he can put himself out there. Bally would have been ok but there is just something about his persona that says "I don't need to win".

I know Efe is really popular on here and generally on social media but Efe appears too rustic for the brand. So my guess is, his voters will keep him in the house till the final round but BB will rig him out for a more desirable winner.

And yes, My friend told me how all of them had to sign a declaration to obey everything BB says to them including those done off air. For instance, since TBoss was not attracted to Kemen, why did she keep letting him sleep on the same bed with her? Answer; BB told them to sleep that way. He was hoping for some activity that could help galvanize more viewership for the show because this time around the show has been a snooze fest.

Top 10 NBA player right now

Kawhi
Harden
LeBron
Westbrook
Durant
Isaiah Thomas
Demarcus
Anthony Davis
John Wall
Gordon Hayward /Antetokounmpo / Nikola Jokic / Draymond..

Curry, Irving, CP3, Paul George, Lowry and Anthony Towns aren't really doing anything special.. Feel free to disagree with your list.
I know opinions are free and what not but sorry you are not going to be taken seriously if your list changes after every game. Whether Kawhi blocked Harden or not, Harden is the most valuable player for his team.

Sure, Kawhi has been nothing short of otherworldly this season but even when he was not as great last season his team racked up 67 wins. Lebron will always be Lebron and his team surely are not punching above their weights with his presence this term. They are doing exactly what was expected of them even though some might say they are slightly underperforming.

As per Russell, like I have said all season he is having perhaps the best season numberswise compared to the other players on the list but his team sits in 7th position in his conference. Sorry, but that just isn't MVP material. He is just the best player in his team and producing the best numbers while at it.

I don't know about you guys but Harden is seriously playing out of his depth. His team is marginally behind GSW and Spurs in the West and he is a (if not THE) major reason for it. Besides, he still put out 39 points yesterday against Spurs (which is the same with Kawhi) to go with his 6/9 3pt shooting and 12 Assists.

One block cannot just end him like that. Abeg.

Kawhi is definitely in the conversation with Harden and WB. I personally feel Harden will win it but it won't be egregious if Kawhi does.

My team has 2 games against this team that seems to win every close game and We are only 2 games ahead of them. I hope they lose one more game before they play us or that we go to their home court and spoil their run. We don't have an iota of a chance to come out of the WC without being top seed.

It felt like his shin was bruised. Big shame but that is what we were trying to tell our Cavs friend. No matter the heroics of Bron and Kyrie, their defence still doesn't scare good PGs off. The more important aspect of the back to back loss is being overlooked again. Everyone is pointing to the Warriors offense, but no one is speaking of the Warriors defense, and Steve Kerr's ineptitude at making adjustments. Also, the losses have suddenly exposed the Warriors bench as shallow, in comparison to last season, and other contenders for the title especially in the west.

Players slump, shots fail to drop, however, just like last season's finals choke job, they were bullied under the paint, could not guard the pick and roll, and S. Curry was bullied at the top of the key, it was like 'Deja vu" again.

When offense is blunt, the defense shoulders the team across the finish line.
I beg to differ. The defense was elite yesterday. It was the offense that collapsed because the 3s not falling helped Bulls to protect the paint better and get some crucial blocks. There were a lot of clean looks for the 3 that the number of clings on the rim made some fans to wonder if some teams rig their rims against GSW.

Perhaps what you are referring to is the 3rd quarter collapse defensively but even that was not key because Kerr made good adjustments and forced 8 defensive stops in the 4th quarter which unfortunately were not translated into buckets on the other end. 4 mins to go and Bulls had only 7 points to show for the 4th quarter. That was how good the defense was.

As per the bench, you have a point but it boils down to poor utilization from Kerr. I thought he could have played one of the centers to get screens and perhaps feed off alley hoops to force the offense but Kerr stuck to what he was comfy with.

The team is just adjusting to the loss of their primary scorer. I'd be worried if this run continues but I won't pretend the signs were not showing even before KD got injured. What needs to be changed is the stoopid foul calls against Curry that don't get called when others mark him the same way. That is what has continued from the finals of last year into the regular season of this one.

We are Barcelona. We are not Man city. We lost 7-0 to Bayern, but it's Bayern not PSG. We lost @ the semi final, not 2nd round.

If Enrique doesn't turn that margin next week, then to me, he's beneath Mourinho.

Like I said, imagine our team tutored by Mou, he won't lose 4 nil against PSG.

I hate myself for saying this, but that's the fact.
Mourinho lost 4-1 at Dortmund in a semi-final. He lost 3-1 ahome to ATM when he needed any type of win.

I am not defending Lucho as everyone knows I criticized him during the first season because I noticed a considerable change in our game play and we started playing like English "counter attacking" teams.

Because we won a treble and eventually 5/6 trophies I sheathe my sword and just remained anon. Even when we slumped again this term and played atrociously I wanted to give him a benefit of the doubt- still doing so now.

The reality is, we have the hardest job in world football in terms of our managerial requirements. We don't just want a coach to win games and trophies; but he is to do them playing an attractive and possession-laden style where we totally dominate whoever we are playing against. I knew Enrique was only going to last for a moment because he was pragmatic and delivered the goods without the style. We would have forgiven him this time around had we gone past PSG but losing 4-0 was too scandalous to bear and I am sure it neccesitated why he opted to leave come season-end.

I don't know if Sampaoli would get the job though. I think our priority will be an ex-barca player. As a result, we might go for Unzué (Enrique's assistant I think and Pep's very good friend) or we might go for Ronald Koeman. I really do not know what I want at this point but Sampaoli is definitely leading the pecking order.

The 3s will only help the wins be blow-outs. I just need Klay to make a lay up or a 2point shot. He tends to make neither of those these days. Curry's misses on the other hand are inexplicable because he is not hitting shots off the dribble away from his home court.

The Bulls usually show up against the big boys. Handed the Cavs and Raptors multiple L's. The issue I think for the Warriors is Steph and Klay continually launching threes on nights they are clearly not falling. They are settling instead of using their athletic ability and intelligence to get better shots. Its mind boggling
Curry's 3s I can excuse because at the moments when he launched most of them, we needed 3s to either take a lead or significantly reduce the deficit. So more than half the time the 3s were contested and bearing down to the final seconds of the shot clock.

In Klay's case, routine shots were being missed. I remember when it was 85-84 with GSW in front and the ball was moved in a way Matt Barnes only needed a lay up to stretch the lead. He saw Klay open at the 3point wing to the right so he passed it out to Klay. With Klay, having more than 3 secs to settle and hit the jump shot, stretching the lead by 4 with just over 2 mins to go, Klay missed it.

That wasn't even the only time; routine lay ups were missed by him. Routine 2point shots in the paint. D West missed a couple himself. The only guy who seemed to force his shots and make them was Shaun but even he took an extra second to hit a buzzer-beater in the end of the 3rd quarter so the shot was eventually canceled.

My only worry with the team is that even with KD we have lost all crunch time games this season. These are games we continued to win all through the regular season, last time. Also, Klay and Curry have shot really badly away from Oracle so that's part of the problem as well.

The good thing is, if they maintain their 3 game lead against Spurs (which looks harder now because we play them 2ce in March) and finish as the WC leaders, we would have that home court advantage which implies that Curry and Klay would have about 4 games to still shoot well and win games.

Consecutive losses for the Warriors against eastern conference teams, SOMETHING OR NOTHING?
Both, because both games could easily have been won if Klay in particular made just 2 extra shots. Really. His own slump has been more stinging because the ball movement usually leaves him uncontested (the way Harrison Barnes was in the finals) but uncharacteristic of Klay, he has missed such shots especially crunch time like he did Back to back against Wiz and Bulls. The defense has not missed KD neither has the offense missed him per se (obviously he still makes a difference). It is how poor Steph (but especially Klay have been).
