I think it's time we come together as one |
As a PDP person I find it sad that our Nairaland Chapter is divided between TonyeBarcanista camp and Biafran camp. I want both camps to unite and I'm suing for truce. I am from Edo state and I don't see any reason for disunity in the PDP family. I am calling on Biafran supporters that are PDP members to forgive TonyeBarcanista because the Tonye that I know has always insisted that the only way there would be justice is for the PDP to present an Igbo man in its 2019 ticket. He wants Igbo advancement just like he wants his Ijaw and other tribes. I know him in person and know his weakness. TonyeBarcanista should also let go of whatever ills he has against IPOB and Nnamdi Kanu and stay away from the Biafran affairs. He should stick to playing politics and promoting PDP. I know that he has some principles but he should stop putting writeup to swell APC and Buhari ego. We in PDP see him as a brain and an asset, a member of our umbrella family. Also, PDP supporters should stop attacking him. We need to build and unite and not destroy. It is obvious that APC people are happy whenever he seem to be on their side but enough is enough. Let me say that I was afraid that he would leave but he assured me that he isn't leaving and I'm glad he is keeping to his word. His Abia Experience was soothing. Calling on Pro-PDP Biafran agitators and Barcanista to come together and sheath their swords.... We are one family. Erunz |
IMAGINE, INES CONFIRMED Mr. Sylvanus Eruaga WON THE ELECTION, GAVE HIM CERTIFICATE OF RETURN, BUT OSHIOMOLE IS USING THE SPEAKER TO STOP HIS SWEARING IN |
The Court of Appeal sitting in Benin, Edo State, has ordered the Speaker of Edo State House of Assembly, Mr. Victor Edobor, to immediately swear in Mr. Sylvanus Eruaga, of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, as a member representing Etsako West 11 constituency in the state legislature or be guilty of contempt of the court and liable to be committed to prison. It will be recalled that the appellate court in its judgment on December 19, 2015, in the appeal by Mr. Eruaga against the judgment of the lower tribunal, declared him the winner of the state House of Assembly election held on April 11, 2015. It then directed the Independent National Electoral Commission, INEC, to withdraw the certificate of return it earlier issued to Dr. Yakubu Marughu, of All Progressives Congress, APC, who was declared winner of the election and issued the appellant a certificate of return. In Form 48 titled “notice of consequences of disobedience of court order,” filed against the Speaker and the Clerk of the Edo State House of Assembly, Advertisement Mr. Lawson Ugiabe stated: “Take notice that unless you obey the directions contained in the judgment/order of this court dated December 19, 2015 (enrolled order attached) by swearing in the appellant/judgment creditor as the member to represent Etsako West Constituency 11 in the Edo State House of Assembly, you will be guilty of contempt of this court and will be liable to be committed to prison.” The appellate court after listening to counsel to Mr. Eruaga, Mr. Dele Igbinedion, in a motion ex-parte, also ordered the bailiff of the court to serve the Form 48 and all other processes pursuant thereto, including the subsequent Form 49, on the Speaker and the Clerk of Edo State House of Assembly by substituted means, to wit: “by publication of the said form in a newspaper with nationwide circulation. https://www.today.ng/news/national/91152/acourt-orders-edo-assembly-speaker-to-swear-in-eruaga |

Schools, hospitals and the secretariat at Oke – Mosan, Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital, remained deserted yesterday as the indefinite strike by civil servants entered the second day. The striking workers, who are protesting the non-payment of their pensions and deductions, said they would not resume until “there is evidence of payment”. Three labour leaders – Chairman of National Union of Printing Corporation, Kayode Wemimo; Chairman of Amalgamated Union of Public Corporation, Recreation and Technical Employee (AUCPTRE) identified as Ojeleye and an unidentified person- were arrested at the south end gate of the secretariat. The Secretary of the Joint Negotiating Council, Adebiyi Olusegun, said the police arrested the three leaders, who were monitoring the strike, shortly after the arrival of the Secretary to the State Government (SSG), Taiwo Adeoluwa. “It was peaceful initially until the SSG arrived. We exchanged banters and just a few metres away, the police told us that we had only five minutes to leave the area. “Then from nowhere came tear gas. They dragged the three leaders, handcuffed them and drove them to the Trade Fair Complex Police Station. “Thereafter, we got in touch with our state leaders, who came to intervene. They wanted them to write statements but we told them that would be done before the media.” The state chairman of the Nigerian Labour Congress (NLC), Akeem Ambali, said the arrests would not affect the workers’ resolve. http://thenationonlineng.net/police-arrest-ogun-labour-leaders/ |
