Tell me to point out a coward and I will point at the direction of Tinubu because he's a coward who couldn't face Peter Obi like a man at the poll but sneaked behind to connive with the INEC chairman to rig election in his favour , all thanks to Lagos money .

Yet he rid Obi of his man.hood. Yes Daddy is no longer a man but a crybaby like his obidient wailers.

You talk about building empire when the British saved your ass from 16 years war, rather than fight the british you fell like a pack of avalanches, yet you were envious of Benin Kingdom, Ekumeku resistance fought the british for over 30 years and we won indirect rule but you were totally subjugated with your so called empires

Tinubu, you asked them to quickly make you ECOWAS chairman because you might not spend up to one year in office. Don't worry your nightmare will come to pass, you will be kicked out of office after one year.

SO it will reach 1 year? Ha, you people's stolen man.hood is taking so long to recover.

Politics / Nothing Wrong With The SE Wanting Igbo President by Escapist(f): 12:31pm On Jun 17, 2023
The South Easterners (specifically the Igbos) should be honest about wanting an Igbo president. There is nothing wrong with that desire. The problem is covering it with faux nationality and making one candidate seem like the messiah. False presentation of intentions will continue to erode the trust other ethnic groups have for Igbos.

If, instead of trying to drag Tinubu's personality and past achievements in the mud in order to promote a less-performing Obi they had openly and transparently made a case for a president from an under-represented region, a lot of empathy and consideration would have been built. And the benefits would have come through in the coming years even if not in the current elections.

Success1981:
Its been a busy 2weeks for Tinubu and some are already believing tinubu is the choosing one. but if u truely know the system, u would exoect what is happening now. The presidency are desperate for some kind of legitimacy. So what u see playing out is how these leaders continued to play Nigerians,
This Tinubu administration has already been planned to be better than Buhari because if it becomes as hard as the kast administration even they the leadership can never handle what is to come. So do not be any surprise at the supposed turn of event under Tinubu because his government will ease the burden for the next 4yrs and use the remaining 4yrs as they please.

The only administration that will set Nigeria to the true path of progress is a Peter Obi's government. What we are asking for is for the tribunal to do their job without favour. We cant continue in injustice and desire to progress. I believe in the justice system and as well believe in the Grace that follows Peter Obi. At the time he won his gubernatorial court case in 2006 know body saw that coming. Even his party and closest allies had left him by then due to the prolonged court case.

Nigerians be ready for that that is to come

This post comes from a place of ethnic bigotry. Osino only Obi's government can bring true progress to Nigeria... goan sit down, my friend.

Do you even know the parallel market is the true reflection of economic reality of any country
Do you even know dual exchange rates provoke distortions by manipulating relative prices in the economy and open opportunities for rent-seeking behavior for those who have access to preferential rates. therefore eliminating dual exchange rates would lead to a more efficient application of market-driven relative prices to allocate resources in the economy.

Can we even fool ourselves that CBN Fx at the official rate, are duly alloted or served. just few people ripping the country off, Mr A who needs $30 collect $100 cos of influence, sells $70 at black market makes ridiculous gain at the detriment of the economy & people, that as being our reality for years. the true of test of any economy theory or policy is the effect on the economy over a reasonable time frame, using 4yrs does the reality of the economic reflect postive or growth. Tell me what i don't know

Only prostitute who are addicted to Brazilian hair and ipjones will see this as a good call.

It means the forex rates have been collapsed into one window unlike before when production related imports enjoyed lower rates and luxurious goods suffered in the black market.

How many producers, especially small scale ones, do you think were able to access forex at official rates in reality? Many manufacturers often had to resort to obtaining forex at black market rate. Only well connected big players could boast of getting CBB rates and not even consistently.

The float makes business easier for SMEs as black market rates will eventually drop.

This decision is the most senseless economic policy.
Tinubu has succeeded in killing the naira, wait and see what happens in few months.

No country totally floats it's currency including the USA.
Some of you are saying market forces will determine exchange rate but you should be asking yourselves is what constitutes "market forces" in Nigeria

Tell me countries that have official rate that differs from the rates on the streets.
Politics / Tinubu Floating The Naira Is A Good Call by Escapist(f): 8:33am On Jun 15, 2023
But those who just want to see the negative in everything he does, would argue otherwise. And those who have been making a fortune from the slow death of our economy will keep fueling their myopic narratives.

How can a country have a street exchange rate that is double the official rate? That is simply economic genocide as it keeps increasing the demand for foreign currency because of those who are profiting from the gap through black market sales.

With this regularisation, I believe the rate will drop in time, due to lower demand (drop in round tripping, black marketeering and local oil refinement).

Tinubu is indeed economically savvy and knows the right decisions needed to steer Nigeria back to the right path.

Sensible arguments welcome.

Politics / Re: Devaluation Of Naira, Another Tinubu Economic Sabotage by Escapist(f): 8:17am On Jun 15, 2023
Another tough but good move.
It is ridiculous to keep capping the official rate accessible to a few, while the black market rate is so high. That gap creates a lot of round tripping and high demand for dollars driven by those making a killing from bureau de change business.
