The truth of the matter is that hardly will you see anyone in Nigeria that pays full duty rather customs assesses the vehicle and gives you what is appropriate to pay. Even the officers that impounded your vehicle know that hardly does anyone pay full duty. There are things I can't post online but my advice to you is to liase with the officers that impounded your vehicle to work out things. If you intend travelling interstate where you will be entering customs check points then ask them to raise additional duty for you to pay but still they can never ask you to pay full duty.

As a matter of fact, the cars I enquired about are all Tokunbo. I got the authentic history of the cars that the sellers supplied the VIN. I reckon those of them that gave out the VIN didn't realise that I was going to check it out. I'll never buy a Nigerian used car anyway because there's no remote chance of checking the authenticity of the car's history.

The one that even annoys me most is that after posting their photoshopped pictures, some of them will still NOT put the price & location and will be asking you to call, as if they are the ones that bought you a phone.

What is the point of putting up an ad, and refusing to include the price? It doesn't make sense. If a price is included, as a potential buyer I can easily scan to see if it falls within my budget, or not. If it does, and I like what I see, then I can make the call. My time is too precious to waste, on unserious expeditions.
