A very bad job they did |
It's a very good development. So that ladies too will see what guys face when they continually act rude and scarce to a man showing interest in them. |
guys vs ladies, who have a higher sense of morality? |
When a man tells a lady to pack her things and leave, he is trying to avoid a murder case. When a lady insists on staying, she is inviting Death. |
My prayer is never to have a girl child. It is an avoidable disaster. |

As we face the reality of Jesus’ life, death, and resurrection again this Easter, we can believe that God has not stopped working miracles. Thanks to testimonies like Sarah’s life and our own life, we can believe that He is active in our lives. Donations and prayers from Open Doors supporters allow women like Sara to grow and become stronger in their faith in Iraq. Sara regularly attends one of the Hope Center churches, which is financially supported by Open Doors. These Hope Centers strengthen area communities and churches in many ways. At the center, Sara attends women’s meetings. She is accepted there and she will be able to grow in her faith. She has also started to reach out to other women with the message of the Gospel. |
Meeting Jesus changed Sara’s life The miraculous escape and the meeting with Jesus changed Sara’s life profoundly. “Before I met Jesus, my life was empty. I didn’t have the joy and peace in my heart that I have now. In my former life, I had everything I needed. All my material needs were satisfied,” says Sara. “But there was no peace or true love in my heart. I couldn’t love. I was very self-centered and selfish. I had a big ego.” When Sara met Jesus, her life changed completely. She began to understand what love is. “I am grateful for everything unpleasant and bad that has happened in my life. I have come to know Jesus better and He has made me more like Him. The real miracle that happened to Sarah is that Jesus found her right where she was and said to her, “Come to Me and you will find rest.” (Matthew 11:28) This miracle will happen to all who take refuge in the name of Jesus. This is the power of Jesus’ resurrection that still works today. It may not seem as miraculous as waking up from the dead or escaping from a locked room. Yet it is just as real the power of God. |
Sara and her father’s relationship has never been the same since. This still causes Sara pain. She later learned that her father had deleted her name from the family’s official records. Losing your family is the most painful consequence of following Jesus. In Iraq it’s especially hard for an unmarried girl. Nevertheless, Sara does not regret her decision. The miracle showed Sara how much God loves her. She continues her walk with Jesus even though she has lost many jobs and been persecuted and oppressed for her faith and celibacy. Eventually, Sara found a Christian community and an opportunity to grow as a Christian. She was baptized and even began to study theology. |
In a silver car to a hotel in northern Iraq That night, Sara went to sleep, hoping not to wake up the next morning. But instead of dying, she got the answer to the prayer she had asked for. “Someone came to me like a light, took my hand and took me out of the locked room. I felt like I was in a trance. Everything was unreal. The person who came to me put me in a silver car,” says Sara. In the morning, she woke up in a hotel room in a northern Iraqi city, several hours away from her home. Sara was very scared when she realized where she was. “I thought I was still sleeping, but the hotel employee came to bring me food and left.” The hotel security guard came to Sara and took her to a room. He told Sara: “Usually a girl runs away from home when she is afraid of her father or runs away with some guy. What is your story?” “Yes, I ran away with someone,” Sara told the officer. “Who is he and why isn’t he with you?” asked the official. At that moment, Sara gathered her courage and said: “He’s here with me. And He is always with me.” “Then who is he?” asked the official. “God,” said Sara. When Sara told her story, the officer said she needed to confirm it with Sara’s father. Sara dreaded having to face her father. At the same time, however, she felt braver and stronger than ever. Two days later Sara’s father arrived. He asked Sara many questions and she told him her story. Finally, Sara said to her father: “All this happened because you challenged God. You said, “May your God save you from here.” And God did just that.” |
One day during dinner, Sara’s family discussed the differences between the different branches of Islam. Then Sara said to her father, “What are these different ideologies that you follow? God loves you and He wants you to come to Him.” His father got angry. He told Sara: “All the time you’ve been asking about Christianity, I’ve thought it was just some teenage phase that was passing. But now it seems I didn’t raise you right.” Then the man whom Sara loved very much locked Sara in her room. The father said: “Now let’s see how your God will free you from here.” Sara was in complete shock and very afraid of everything that had happened. Her father had always been good to her. Sara was locked in her room for 10 days without food. But God did not abandon her. “Every night I dreamed that I was in a very dark place and someone took my hand and took me to a very bright place. Although I was helpless and my situation seemed impossible, I still had faith and hope in Christ.” When her father finally opened the door, Sara’s situation became even more impossible. “My father told me: “Start preparing. Tomorrow you will marry your stepmother’s nephew. I didn’t know how to raise you right, but maybe he can.” Then dad locked the door again.” Sarah was very angry with Jesus. She prayed to Jesus and said: “You are a liar. If You were real, You would save me from this situation. If You want to show me that You are real, take my life now. I would rather die than get married.” |
During Easter, we rejoice in the miracle of the resurrection. For many, it can still be difficult to unite everyday life with the miracles of the Bible. But persecuted Christians testify to God’s continuing miracles. One of them is Sara*, who miraculously got out of the room locked by her father and avoided a forced marriage. Sara* is a Christian living in Baghdad, the capital of Iraq. Sara’s mother died when Sara was little. Her father is a Muslim, but not a very devout one. When Sara was a teenager, a friend of hers gave her a Bible. Sara started reading it and something lit up inside her. The text of the Bible confused her. “My head was filled with many questions. How can God have a son? What does it mean that Jesus died for my sins? How can we be children of God? What does the Son of God mean?” Islam had taught Sara to fear God’s punishment. What the Bible said contradicted what she had heard all her life. Sara wondered how God can punish when the Bible says He loves and died for people’s sins. Sara searched for answers and asked her father about it as well. Her father said that the Bible was a book invented by men. “Leave it and don’t read it again,” said the father. But Sara couldn’t leave the Bible. She continued her search and compared the Quran with the Bible. Sara was both surprised and shocked. The God she read about in the Bible could not be the God she had previously thought was God. The God of the Bible was peaceful and full of love. The God of the Koran was something else entirely. Finally, Sara realized the truth and accepted Jesus as her Savior. But that didn’t mean her life had become easy. “May your God save you from here”. |
