I concur, Nigerian education need rehabilitation there is no new invention, no enough practicals, no field work just nothing nothing except one bulky dirty brown handout given to the lecturers by their predecessors and it is what the lecturers will be using for donkey years.

They should either restructure the education system or better to have few courses that you will get more practical exposure.

That's why i always respect private universities and I don't fault them when they hike their fees.

BTW some courses are useless, i don't want to list them here.
I do agree with you; there is an urgent need for curriculum restructuring in our educational system. However, I don't think some courses should be tagged useless. Perhaps we could say they have no market value or practical field in Nigeria (no avenue to practice) .

Having a knowledge in a particular field does not mean the person
can teach others effectively.
Graduates of Nigerian tertiary institutions can attest to this

NUC should stop lowering the bar for our lecturers.
I do agree with you, but have you not observed that even some who have obtained PGDE struggle with an adaptable teaching methodology to ensure we're in line with global standard?
I think we should view the trainings in good light. However, PGDE should still be considered as a prerequisite for teaching in our tertiary institutions.
EducationRe: NUC Scraps PGDE Training For Lecturers With Phds Dailytimes.ng by Estiara(f):
This right here ➡️ "to ensure that over time; more Nigerian lecturers are exposed to the modern method of teaching in line with global best practices." is a step forward in pedagogical advancement in Nigeria!

Acquisition of a PGDE by an academic does not imply that he/she will be effective in teaching. Everyone who passed through any public tertiary institution in Nigeria can attest to the fact that our teaching methodology over the years has been faulty, therefore consistent trainings of our educators is indeed a welcome development. However, PGDE for PhD holders shouldn't be scrapped.

But personally, I will never do this to any child, no matter what.
Wasn't thinking in that direction. You may be right but is that possible at that age? If true, what the boy needs is psychological therapy because I'd be sure he ain't aware of the gravity of such (only if true).

Irrespective of whatever offense the boy could have committed, this type of harmful punishment should not have been meted out to him.
CrimeRe: Boy Rescued By Neighbors After Being Brutally Beaten By His Aunt In Lagos. Photo by Estiara(f):
This is totally uncalled for. It is called child abuse. There's a huge difference between correction and discipline as well as punishment and infliction of bodily harm. This incident may affect the little boy psychologically later in life. That heartless aunt should be charged to court and made to pay for her crime.
Wickedness everywhere.

On a second note, that man carrying the boy seems to have a striking resemblance to Evans. grin Or do I need corrective spectacles?

It's the heart. When you sleep, your eyes do rest, you can hold your breath while taking your shower or under water, your brain goes on hiatus whilst you sleep or if you're into yoga, during a particular session. However, your heart shouldn't stop working. Once it stops beating in the case of a cardiac arrest, it may lead to death.

Pls adopt a child after 3years or so of waiting. So many babies need loving parents and a home.
I share same opinion as yours although I was thinking it should be an option after five to ten years of TTC. It's one of the topics I'd discuss with my future partner while courting. If after five/ten years of expecting, we are unable to conceive naturally, we'll try IVF or adoption.
Many children out there are seeking loving homes.

FamilyRe: How To Deal With Loneliness In Marriage by Estiara(f): 9:36am On Jul 28, 2017
Nos 5.5.6. and 7. Great advice! Btw, you typed 5. twice.

Nairalandsss:
Most people get married in the hope of finding a partner with whom they can share anything and everything. Many hope to find their best friends in their life partners. Many get married thinking that they will never be lonely again, especially if you marry late in life. But, it is an unfortunate truth that many people do not find what they seek in their marriage. Many are left unsatisfied and lonely as their partner fails to understand them. This usually happens if you have a workaholic partner or if they were forced into marriage with you. Other times, your partner may not be aware that you are feeling lonely in the relationship.

Whatever be the case, it is not wise to simply throw in the towel and call it quits before trying to deal with the problem. In fact, loneliness in relationships can have devastating effects on you. 2.Shared experience: The key to how to cope with loneliness in a marriage is to have shared experiences. This can be something mundane like taking the dog for a walk or going to the supermarket for a shopping.

3.Stand in their shoes:

4.Do not blame yourself: In order to know how to cope with loneliness in a marriage, you need to stop blaming yourself. It is also a good idea to refrain from blaming your partner. Instead, work on constructive ideas to solve the issue.

6.A good listener: What is more important when talking to your partner is listening to him. While you learn how to deal with feeling lonely in a marriage, you realise that not everything is about you. Be an attentive listener to your spouse.

7.A time for each other: In order to know how to deal with feeling lonely in a marriage, set aside at least an hour each day to spend with your spouse. Leave the worries and responsibilities of your life aside and devote this time only for your spouse.

These are the ways to deal with loneliness in marriage.

RomanceRe: Reasons why Relationships Are Important by Estiara(f): 9:21am On Jul 28, 2017
AccessME:
And here I am still not having a girl friend ..

God why?
Leave God alone my guy! Will He woo a girl for you?
Few questions:

- Are you dirty?
- Do you wear your worries on your face?
- Do you always appear too serious?
- Are you shy?
- How is your oral hygiene?

If your answer to the first four questions is no, you should take a bold step and approach a lady of your choice when you're ready.

Btw, if that's you on your profile, you appear to be a fellow who would lose focus easily. Stare at the camera to appear confident.
Wait o! All these so you could have a girlfriend? My brother, bye!
