Onyiridike: 1. Sim Fubara used his incumbent power to make 3 lawmakers superior to 25 pro Wike commissioners and even went ahead to pass the State's budget and made it a legalised working document. Wike is yet to understand how it happened 2. He chased pro Wike lawmakers away from state assembly complex and told them plainly that they don't exist and that they can only exist if he allows them to exist. 3. He publicly referred to Wike as a rat and warned him that "otapipia" is in place to destroy him completely if he dares eat Rivers garri again. 4. He is gradually destroying Wike's political structure and I can assure you that Rivers people are on his side 5. He sternly warned Pro Wike commissioners to resign or be sacked and they immediately complied.
Wike is really in shock. none of the things you stated here hold any water. If he likes, let him believe that his wife is the House of Assembly. No decision by those people can stand as you will find out. Watch. |

Meanwhile, Gov. Sim. should also desist from this show of shame he is embarking on. Governance is continuous and if a project is done by his predecessor in the interest of the state, there is nothing wrong if he pay up the balance if truly there is any. All he needs to investigate is, if the balance haven't left the government treasury.

Please, do not become STUPID because of politics or the N30k rhey pay you. what are you disputing? Even the contractor has clearly stated in the letter that the sum in question was withheld for retention. |

SenatorCharles1: There are a lot this government may not come out to say in the media but trust me, you won't want to get the details of what's been going on behind these award of contracts and payment to contractors. Take it or leave it, the retention sum of whatever you want to call it had been signed off by the last administration and monies pocketed by someone else other than the contractor. I rest my case you are entitled to your beliefs. But that doesn't make them facts. |
Politics › Re: Another Stupid Propaganda By Sim Fubara by Eteka1(op): 11:02pm On May 16, 2024 |
SenatorCharles1: A project that was awarded and completed within the first tenure of Wike's administration and after 8 years you're still talking about retention sum? For your info, maximum number of years for retention sum is 2 years except otherwise stated in the contract agreement.
For the contractor to wait until after the administration of Wike (almost 7 years after) shows something is wrong somewhere. there must be a good reason why the retention is pending. The awarder of the contract holds onto the retention fee to ensure that contractor meets agreed specifications. The point is, this is not a debt but a retention. If the new government thinks the roads in question are okay after a reasonable period post-completion, they should release the retention to the contractor and stop the stupid propaganda. |
Politics › Re: Another Stupid Propaganda By Sim Fubara by Eteka1(op): 10:42pm On May 16, 2024 |
SenatorCharles1: What's the required number of years a government is allowed to withhold retention sum? there is no fixed timeframe. It's agreed in contract awards depending on the type of project involved. |

This is the first time where correspondence stamped at the Governors office and sent directly to the Governor is released to be used for unintelligent deception and social media hype. Whoever released that letter is either brimming with ignorance or banking on the silence of those that know better.
The letter clearly states the money in discussion is money held for "retention". Retention is 5% of the contract sum kept by the Government for a period, it is released at the expiration of the defect liability period of a project and is done for ALL projects.
The project in this letter was executed at N5.28bn, 95% of the project sum was paid, the project was completed and commissioned and the retention (5%) was kept as is the norm.
I can tell you with certainty that the SIM Government is in possession of the 5% retention for the old Bori road he just commissioned and will do the same for all other projects he will commission.
Finally, the funds for this project was fully approved by Wike and the 5% retention which is what is reflected in this paper from Governor SIM's office was held by the Accountant General who happened to be the same SIM.

SpartaOfLagos: Former governor Nyesome Wike actions in the last presidential election is the reason Tinubu is president today . But with the way Wike has been rubbished and reduced to nothing in rivers state politics by his Ex-political god son, similaye Fubara, it is over for APC and Tinubu in rivers state as there won't be Nyesome Wike to spill the blood of Rivers state people to rig for Tinubu as witnessed presidential election.
God bless Nigeria That's why you people hate Wike so much. But let me correct an impression. Wike and the G5 mobilized and canvassed support for Tinubu's election in their states of influence and beyond. They didn't rig. Tinubu won the election. And also, Wike is still intact. |
