edi287: True but none of those guys are pure destroyers except maybe Casemerio who I think is better sha. gbam..... But in a top level team, who needs a pure destroyer, whose only attribute is tackling especially in this modern football era... Shey u see the trend...maybe now we get the point... Even casemerio you call a pure destroyer scores goals and gives assists... I mean big big goals that has taken Madrid one step further in the champions league.... Remember he was loaned to Porto when kroos was preferred to him in that role.. But Zidane called him back and integrated both in the team.... Point is casemerio improved other aspects of his game and flourished....... I really don't get the ndidi is a black african hence he is not rated syndrome..... |

AIG07: baba, how is stats generated? Or how do players churn out stats? Let me help. Let me summarize in two words 'GAME TIME'.
You only know a player has quality when he plays. You can and should never assume that a player lacks quality without seeing him play.
Most Nigerian players are never given enough time to show what they've got compare to their counterparts. Yet, you want us to judge them with the same yardstick. That's unfair.
Give both parties same opportunity and see who'll excel.
On Ndidi, I didn't say he is World class. The guy's performance as put him at the top. we have what we call standard... There are yardsticks for measurement and it is the same everywhere.. Be you African or otherwise I rest my case... Nice discuss tho |

AIG07: @first bold, how many Nigeria players were signed by top teams in Europe in 1995 when Nigeria was ranked 5th by FIFA and despite the 94 performance? There are more to this things than the eyes can see.
I don agree with you On the second bold-A resilent mindset. oga you must agree for the first o... Cos me I knw say that 95,96 na we get players for Barcelona, ajax, dortmund, inter, ac Milan, come lead enter arsenal chelses..... Last last.... The time frame may not be spot on but it was a boom period... The domino effect of our top ranking was felt in our player transfers |

Mujtahida: Not so simple as you think. Never said their counterparts are not the best. Just telling you black players have to do so much to earn just a little recognition. This black thing has grades ooo. Blacks from say France are treated better than Blacks from say cameroun oga you be lawyer na.... If you nor measure up to nba standard will you be called to bar.... Again if you never improve and upgrade can you serve at the international court... Mek we leave this racism black thing.... Quality is quality... There is always a standard to be met... |

AIG07: wait... Question for you. How do you know a Quality player? thank you for this question... We got different types of quality... World class, average, bang average, shhht etc.... The stats tells the story... Type of team, team contribution, trophies.. There are so many parameters used to measure quality.... Ndidi for me is just outside the bracket of top quality dm.... He is not there yet.... When he improves he's attacking qualities then we can talk.... You can't call him world class based on he's tackling stats alone.... I Pray he gets there |
Sports › Re: "The Super Eagles Thread: The Road To AFCON 2027, 2028 And 2030 World Cup by eterisan(m): 10:51pm On Mar 13, 2018 |
Mujtahida: Point is if his counterpart do so much as he's doing they'd get more than enough credit. I am not one for using terms like world class to describe our players. I don't see racism but then there's a reality you are not aware of. It's harder for black players. They have to be twice as good to get even their names mentioned. Drogba and the rest are the ones no one could do otherwise. They were not good. They were too good. it all boils down to fifa rating, work permit issues... Bla Bla Bla... Probably Im going too far... But trust fifa standard they rule the game.... If we africans want to be the best... We beat the best... Besides we leave our country to go play there and you say they are not the best.... It's harder for black players because we are not the best... It's simple.... No inferiority complex here... Else why don't African teams run over Europeans nd Americans at the world cup.... We should change the way we think.... Accept where we are in the grand scheme of things and strive to grow from there.... |

AIG07: I have learnt to stop comparing our players to their foreign counterparts. Simply because they're not on the same WAVELENGHT and so I can never judge them by the same FREQUENCY.
The difference is clear and obvious. The difference is NATIONALITY and NATIONALITY ALONE.
We're always trying to compare Nigeria players with those players from S.America, Europe etc when we all know that the FIELD OF PLAY IS NEVER FAIR AND EVEN.
A certain coach came on board and gave a relatively unknown player from S.America a call and the next was history.
If Ndidi was to be a European or a S.American, no one will be here discussing this. The Main Stream media would have pass their verdict on his quality.
To those who never believe in the quality of our players, I say put other top DMs(the Kroos, the Casemiros, etc) in leicester and let's see if they'll churn out the same numbers Ndidi is producing week in week out.
I have come to appreciate the work our boys are putting everyweek in Europe to keep the our flag flying.
I know someday, verysoon, we'll silent every doubters. Those who never believe any good thing can come out of NIGERIA.
I rest my case lol.... Quality is quality irrespective of nationality... Ask George weah or toure, Drogba, eto to name but a few.... If you don't measure yourself against international standard how do you develop.... We go meet for world cup na.... It is not rocket science why s. America and Europe dominate the world cup.... They are the best in terms of football.... Take it or leave it. . That is the reality.... To be the best you have to beat the best.... For ndidi to be rated a top quality dm he has to perform better than he's American and European counterparts... O pari |

tbaba1234: I would not be surprised if Ndidi secures a big move at the end of this season.
Kante in the premier league winning season had only 1 goal and 4 assists. Kante was certainly not there for his passing ability or goalscoring.
Ndidi already has 3 assists this season. Let us hypothetically agree that Ndidi has a blast at the world cup and moves to a big team... U pick and choose any.... Tell me who he will bench.... In any of the top teams.... Note Liverpool already signed keita.... I say he stays and improve... |

BascoVanVeli: First of all nobody can replace Busquets. He is the most important player in barca apart from Messi. Also Ndidi could battle Rakitic for a shirt although that would also be tough because he is very underrated. Ndidi cannot play rakitic position.. He will flop big time... How una de look this Ndidi sef... This guy was a defender before o.... Blik una Dr forget.... He doesn't have d guile... How many assists, goals has he... tbaba1234: What was Kante doing apart from tackling and interception? Was he a great passer or dribbler??
If Ndidi moves to a bigger side, he will get better and will be better recognized.. Kante is a better passer and dribbler nd scorer... Ndidi should stay for one or two more seasons with Leicester and improve other aspects of his game before eyeing a move to a top club if nd when they come for him.. That is my point |

maidaboi: put indidi barcelona and his passing stats will improve leicester is not a possesion side until of recent and his passing stats are improving because of it Ndidi is very good at what he does, which is break up play, but for top quality dms...the cream de la cream.. Tackling is not enough... Wait o.. Is this not same Ndidi I watch misplacing passes nd shooting waywardly... Imagine Ndidi in a man city side... How will he cope.. Can he beat his man in tight spaces release a pass in quick transition nd his teams scores from that play.... Bf them come for my head I am only analysing without a gwg tainted glass... At present, none of the above is better than Ndidi in breaking up play.. They might surpass him in other attributes but on current form, he is right up there. 1st the quality of teams they play for, 2nd experience wise, 3rd number of trophies won, 4th better dribbling stats, 5th better passing stats, 6th better shooting stats... I can go on nd on... Ndidi jus de use experience as a defender plus he long legs they accumulate tackling stats for midfield nd una de hype m to high heavens.. I shock for una oooo.. Daejoyoung: So you think Barca cannot chase Ndidi? Matic is just a bigger and more popular player. Ndidi at 21 is certainly a better defensive midfielder than Matic is, except in making timely passes like someone said earlier. Barcelona cannot sign Ndidi yet... They just signed Arthur from gremio with n eye on replacing busquets plus they have Paulinho... I am not putting him down but please the reality is he is on the up and not there yet.. Cc icon4s. When he improves the attacking aspect of his game, then we can talk about world class. |

tbaba1234: At the moment, on form, Ndidi is as good as any DM out there, including Matic.
Matic can be grouped as 'world class' based on previous achievements and Ndidi has not yet gained that level of acclaim and is still developing as a player. I beg to disagree Sir. Ndidi is not as good as fernandinho, Fred, jorginho, casemerio, busquets, Gabi, Can, vidal, khedira... I can keep naming them... Put him in an attacking team and he's deficiencies will show.. He has a lot to learn. |

Ndidi still has a lot to learn, long pass accuracy, fast transitions, shot accuracy.... Do you know he is the worst players in terms of shooting accuracy in the EPL... the guy who has taken the highest number of shots without scoring... Make we calm down for the hype abeg... Ndidi still de grow and even on present form cannot and will not bench matic. |
