I believe this platform is for our learning and as Christians we ought to be open to reasoning as long as its in accordance to the dictates of scriptures. I really love the current discussion on Ordinances like the anointinf oil, communion etc. I think its a good opportunity for us to teach each other. So lets reason together;
Its important to understand the following while studying scriptures
1) It is the Spirit that profits, not the flesh. Every word of God is a mystery. The word of God are Spirit and life. It requires the quicken of the spirit to unravel the treasures in it. THERE IS NO CARELESS UTTERANCE, DOCTRINE , ORDINANCE IN SCRIPTURES. GOD IS NOT AN ACTOR. HE DOESN'T JUST DO SYMBOLISM WITHOUT A DEEPER DIMENSION ,HE'S A SERIOUS PERSON AND EVERY SCRIPTURAL ORDINANCE IS ACTUALLY A MYSTERY IN ACTION.
2) God never contradicts himself, therefore to get the appropriate meaning of every scripture it must as a rule be explained in the light of other scriptures. That's why Paul explained in 1 COR 2:13 that by the helps of the Holy Spirit we are to compare spiritual things with spiritual.
3) Every word of God, every instruction, every doctrine or odrinance and every promise of God is for our profiting in all aspect of life( 1 Tim 4:15, Heb 4:2) , however how much it profits us Is dependent on our depth of insight that's why all though the word fell on good soil ( the right heart), some had 30 fold benefit, some had 60 fold and some an hundred fold according to their depth of spiritual understanding in the parabale of the sower(matthew 13:8,23) Hence to get maximum returns and make maximum use of the redemptive opportunities opened to us in Christ Jesus we need to seek out the revelation behind every ART and ACT of scripture. GOD IS NOT AN ACTOR OR STAGE PERFORMER THAT TELLS US TO DO SOMETHINGS FOR ONLY SYMBOLISM SAKE. TO EXPLAIN SOME OF THE ORDINANCES IN SCRIPTURES SUCH AS THE ANOINTING OIL, THE HOLY COMMUNION AND WATER BAPTISM AS ONLY MERE SYMBOLISM IS TO LOSE THE HIDDEN BENEFITS HE WAS TRYING TO IMPART TO US THROUGH THOSE MYSTERIES. GOD IS NOT AN ENTERTAINER OR AN HISTORIAN, The same communion someone eats as a symbolic act is what heals another person who has a better understanding.
4) The foundation of our Christianity is on the Apostles and the prophets with Jesus himself being the chief cornerstone (Ephesians 2:20, 1 Cor 3:11) . wisdom therefore demands that anything that Christ and the apostles teached, accepted and practice becomes an integral part of true Christianity. To discard some of those things no matter how trival it may look as only mere symbolism and hence not necessary to do is missing out of the spiritual mystery behind it.

IN LIGHT OF THIS, in subsequent posts I will be talking about some spiritual insights about the Holy Communion and The Anointing Oil with a little discussion on water baptism. I will leave out the issue of tithe for now because its the most controversial.

PLEASE MAY I HAVE YOUR EYES, EARS AND HEART FOR A FEW MINUTES? I believe this message for the rescue of someone or some people from imminent danger. It will pay you well to listen.
These are observations I have noticed : there is a revival gradually sweeping through the land. A portion of the body of Christ is waking up to its covenant obligations of soul winning and there is an intense battle right now for the souls of men. Has the kingdom of God is laboring hard to see men saved, the kingdom of darkness is also laboring VERY HARD, DOUBLE TIME, DAY AND NIGHT TO SEE people derailed.
IT IS MY OWN PERSONAL CONVICTION THAT NAIRALAND IS ONE SUCH PLATFORMS THE ENEMY IS DEPLOYING TO ACTUALIZED HIS ASSIGNMENTS. THE AIM PRIMARILY IS TO CAPTURE THE MINDS OF YOUNG MEN AND WOMEN. IT’S ABOUT THE MIND, BE VIGILANT, BE VERY VIGILANT.

LET ME SHARE A LITTLE EXPERIENCE
Over the course of the last few weeks I’ve been increasingly and stupidly too busy to take time to sit down with the word and pray fervently. Most times the excuses even looked good. If it’s not about my secular job of medicine, it’s about the cares of life on my mind: relationship palava, money matters, and career decisions. I mean very serious issues. Wake up early rush to work, do the work for 2, then get home around 8-9 very tired. Then came football season to steal the remaining little time and before I knew it, gradually fasting and prayer became a burden, studying the word became an issue. Because I had started taking of my eyes from JESUS to carnal matters. At the beginning I didn’t sense that demonic influences were in play. But as this weariness became worse and I started to see the void of not communing with the Holy Spirit regularly. The devil switched to step 2 “condemnation, guilt” this cloud was just around me. being a bit enlightened in spiritual matters, I could see the devil at work. It was now a full scale siege of the devil. But I played into his hands by trying to revive myself in the energy of the flesh, which I failed at leading to more self condemnation which further separated me from God. But for the first time in my life, I had a dream and saw Jesus and the dream made me understand what was happening and the kind of battle ahead. All the while Jesus was with me but he wanted me to learn.
I also got to understand that I (and I believe every person genuinely sold out to God) is a prime target of the devil. He can’t do anything to you but he’s always scheming, looking for any moment of laxity to catch you of guard and derail your spiritual connectivity, corrupt your mind and derail you from fulfilling purpose.
You have a purpose and the enemy is out to stop it. SIN AND CARNALITY is not a matter of whether it pleases God or not. It’s about CORRUPTING YOUR MIND AND MAKING YOU LOSE CONNECTIVITY, LEAVING YOU EXPOSED TO THE DEVIL’S OTHER ATTACKS AND CRASH OF DESTINY.
TO BE CARNALLY MINDED IS DEATH, BUT TO BE SPIRITUALLY MINDED IS LIFE AND PEACE (ROMANS 8;6)
YOU ARE A LIGHT OF THE WORLD SENT ON A SPECIFIC TASK TO DISLODGE A PARTICULAR KIND OF DARKNESS, IN A PARTICULAR FIELD OF ENDEAVOUR, IN A PARTICULAR PLACE. YOU ARE SALT SENT TO ADD VALUE. ONCE THE DEVIL CORRUPTS YOUR MIND , YOU ARE A GUNNER. YOU WILL BE TRAMPLED UPON BY PEOPLE.

Hello friends , I think we have to realize that not everyone has the capacity of hearing and accepting the truth. Even Jesus didn't come to save everyone . That statement is the truth.

48 And when the Gentiles heard this, they rejoiced and glorified (praised and gave thanks for) the Word of God; and as many as were destined (appointed and ordained) to eternal life believed (adhered to, trusted in, and relied on Jesus as the Christ and their Savior). Acts 14:28 amplified version.
Acts 2:47 KJV: Praising God, and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily such as should be saved.
So it's as many as should be saved that will be saved. God's will is that all should be saved according to 1 Peter 3:9 .but that's just his will, he won't force his will on people. This knowledge is vital.
When we see some people who are just hell bent on being agents of confusion and are unrepentant, we should just ignore their comments like they don't exist and leave them to the Holy Spirit who is able to convict and convert them. Some people are not ready to reason scriptures with you. We should just avoid them and not let them derail this thread. Thanks brothers and sisters.

Why people pray a lot and their problems get worse?
I'm sure a lot of us have noticed people and many churches who pray a lot, praying with intensity and yet get no result. In fact in most cases things become worse. Well let me explain one of the principal reason this happens
Anytime you take your eyes from Jesus and the faithfulness of God as the reason why God must bless and answer you in prayer and look to your Works (Fasting, intensity of prayers, good deeds, tithings and many more), you have given extra motivation and committed the devil to remind GOD of what you have not done and what you have done wrongly (Rev 12:10 , he's the accuser of the brethren). And because you have overlooked the Grace of God in Jesus Christ, you have limited his ability to be your defendant at the court room of heaven . It's like telling your lawyer, he should shut up and let you defend yourself in court . This is why people Lose their case at the court room of heaven. God being a just judge (Gen 18:25, psalms 94:2) then passes a judgement that is going to be a punishment commiserate to the offense you committed. Have you seen why so many people pray a lot and their situation gets worse ?

When you get to the throne of Grace approach with this mentality. First greet and hail him (every child does that to his dad before asking something big) then proceed with this mindset " daddy I know I they mess up ,but baba no vex, ha baba Abeg no look that side lol, no look my work at all, them no pure Instead baba forgive me because of Jesus *at THIS POINT LAWYER JESUS TAKES OVER (CASE WON Already ), then proceed by reminding God of his promises and commit him to answer you because Jesus has qualified you for them not your works, this part is important. Then end the prayer with thanksgiving. Thats how you win all the time. I have so many testimonies abouy God's faithfulness when I look to him.

Psalms 130:3
If You, Lord, should keep an account of our sins and treat us accordingly,
O Lord, who could stand [before you in judgment and claim innocence]?
If God will not keep record of our sins, why are you keeping records of your small good works and boasting (yes it's boasting, check Luke 18:9-14) Before God in prayers?
(digressing a bit now) Some people have a ledger for all the good deeds they have done in their mind, they can't do good out of a free heart expecting nothing back. Thats hypocrisy not love. The Bible warns that let love be without hypocrisy in Romans 12. In case your pastor has to motivate you before you pay your tithe and ofofferings and the reason why you do them is because of the blessings attached to it just ask for mercy because you're putting a curse on yourself without knowing. The motivation for doing good deeds and obeying God must firstly be because we love him. If you love him, those things become natural to you. Remember it's the heart God judges. When God sees your heart doing good as a lifestyle with or without compliments or getting anything in return and it doesn't bother you, it stirs him up to bless you.
Let your eyes be fixed on Jesus and his faithfulness (not your works) always in prayer and you will never be disappointed.

bro CharlyG1 On what you said in your earlier post that "true spiritual warfare starts with the mind" . I can say you're 200million percent right . What you said about how demons persistently whisper thoughts into people's mind is also true. I have experienced it very well. I will talk more on it later. It still happened to me two days ago as I laid on the sofa at home trying to catch a nap, I was thinking then suddenly a very unusual and carnal thought just came into my mind. But God helped me discern, that the source of the thought was not within me but behind my head, I clearly heard the demon speaking thoughts from being my head Not noticing that I had caught wind of his presence, I didn't see it but I'm very certain it was from outside my own mind and body, so I immediately rebuked it in The name of Jesus. I have had other experiences too that a thought pattern will just set in and I will then realise that it's an entity projecting it in my immediate environment, I often don't see them but I quickly rebuke those thoughts. Having said that it's the believers responsibility to control what he watches and listens to particularly guys, beware of excessive football entertainment its a snare and weapon of distraction, I've fallen a lot for that recently, I'm recalibrating sharply. If it's not edifying you, it's stylishly defiling you. Be warned. The devil is not powerful over Christians but his game is to get legal right by distractions, deceptions, trickery, he fans the fire of our fleshy desires, he's very patient and subtle.

1Smartkiddzy Not to overflog the issue, there is nothing like gift of the word of God, any man of God that gives you that Kind of prophecy is suspicious. God won't give a gift that's contrary to what he has revealed in the verses of scriptures. If he called you a teacher Now, I would have accepted that he may be right.

There are a lot of things going on in my life right now ( which I will explain later). The man of God (a branch pastor of a very big church in Nigeria here in SA)[I am currently in South Africa] told me that neither the devil nor any enemy is responsible but that God is the one working out everything which will be like a history for me to tell later. He said he saw me on the pulpit preaching and that I was called to serve and if I refuse to heed to God's call, I would die. He said plainly that answering God's call is the only way for me to remain alive and he said he is seeing the gifts of Singing, healing and interpreting the word of God..
You couldn't imagine the shock on my face that a man of God who I came to see for guidance and counselling was now telling me I was to be a Pastor...Pastoring was the last thing on my mind.
And then I asked him if I was just to be an ordinary brother to serve God well or a pastor. He said he is seeing me standing on a pulpit not in the congregation....
And ever since then I haven't really accepted the call because I am still doubting it so I have been looking for confirmation....
So please I need answers to the following questions:::
1. Does God use suffering to train His children?
2. Is it proper for me to Request a sign from God if He truly called me [Because it is a big risk to venture into pastoral ministry without a calling from God]
3. Is there any Gift like interpreting the word of God
4. And if I finally want to accept the call, how do I go about it?

Hello brother you're welcome. I hope this answers will help.
Firstly it's important to understand that everything a child of God does is actually a ministry because it's supposed to be in service to God. Meaning you can be in service to GOD as a businessman e.g Abraham and Job, you can be in service as a politician e. g Daniel and Joseph even a banker or musician is in a ministry as long as its servicing God's interest. So don't let anyone box you into thinking you must be pastor to serve God. Serving God is just doing what you're created to do in service to God.
However there is the office of the five fold ministry I. E the Apostle, prophet, pastor, evangelist and teacher whose duty is prepare And spiritually equip the others in the body of Christ for their respective work for God.
On the matter of calling. It's important to note that there is a DIFFERENCE BETWEEN YOUR GIFTS AND CALLING. YOUR GIFT IS THE GRACE OF GOD GIVEN TO YOU TO PERFORM A SPECIFIC TASK WITH EASE, IT'S AN ENABLEMENT GIVEN TO YOU TO FULFIL YOUR CALLING. HOWEVER YOUR CALLING IS THE SPECIFIC THING GOD WANTS YOU TO DO WITH IT. For example that you have the gift of discernment of spirits doesn't make you automatically a prophet, and that you are prophet doesn't mean you are sent to everyone or sent to prophesy everything. E.g Joel was a prophet sent to Prophesy the coming of the Holy Spirit and the endtimes, Jeremiah was sent to the nations so you will see several prophesies he prophesied to several nations. Samuel was also a prophet but he was sent only to Isreal. Paul was an apostle to the gentiles. You can be a teacher and you are only sent to teach the subject of faith or grace. So an actual calling tells you who you're sent to and what you are sent to do with your gifts and when to set out.
So it often (not always, GOD is mysterious and can do anything he likes, how he likes) starts with you discovering that you manifest a kind of gift or grace e.g Teach easily, inspired to write songs, seeing Visions, having knowledge of hidden things e.t.c . Don't jump into ministry presumptuously at this stage or BE WORRIED EVEN IF YOU RECIEVE A PROPHECY POINTING TO WHAT YOUR CALLING MAYBE. Just keep exercising that gift of yours as God allows it per time where God has put you AND MOST IMPORTANTLY WALK IN GOD's general will for all (His revealed instructions in the word) which includes SANCTIFICATION, DILLIGENCE IN WHAT YOU'RE CURRENTLY ENGAGED IN, PRAYER, FASTINGS, VAST STUDY OF THE WORD OF GOD. Continue your education or whatever you are doing now and do it more diligently but beware of distractions, The anointing often attracts the devil and he comes with diverse tactics to derail you (sufferings, ladies ,family sef) be focused. Then along line at God's appointed time, he will speak to you clearly on what he specifically wants you to do in a way that you can't deny he's the one speaking, don't rush in until he unveils his perfect will for you. BUT IN THE MEAN TIME BE SANCTIFIED, BE DILLIGENT, STUDY TO SHOW YOURSELF APPROVED BOTH THE BIBLE /ANOINTED BOOKS AND YOUR BOOK IN SCHOOL. BECAUSE MANY ARE CALLED FROM BIRTH BUT ONLY FEW ARE CHOSEN AND SENT. THE PROBLEM IS NOT WHAT TO DO, BUT WHO TO SEND, GOD CAN'T SEND JUST ANYBODY TO DO HIS WORK, THATS WHY YOU HEAR HIM SAY "WHO SHALL I SEND? WHO WILL GO FOR US? " Isaiah 6:8, until he removed the iniquity in Isaiah's mouth on verse 7, he couldn't send him. God sets apart him that is godly for himself (psalms 4:3)
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity. But in a great house there are not only vessels of gold and of silver, but also of wood and of earth; and some to honour, and some to dishonour. If a man therefore purge himself from these, he shall be a vessel unto honour, sanctified, and meet for the master's use, and prepared unto every good work. Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.

God is always seeking to see who amongst those he has given the gifts(Grace to do) to see who he can send on specific tasks,
“And I sought for a man among them, that should make up the hedge, and stand in the gap before me for the land, that I should not destroy it: but I found none.” Ezekiel 22:30
THE SPIRITS OF THE PROPHETS ARE SUBJECT TO THE PROPHETS, BEWARE OF PERSONAL PROPHESIES NO MATTER HOW GIFTED THAT PERSON IS. Don't despise it but test it with the word of God and wait for him to fulfil it. God bless you

In this perilous times where wolves in sheep clothing’s have invaded the body of Christ, it is increasingly difficult for Christians to accept and be blessed by the ministry of sent men of God. It has become so scary that you need the helps of God and high level discernment to escape many of these wolves. However the fear of getting it wrong with men of God is gradually robbing the body of Christ of the benefits of God’s plan for giving ministry gifts to stabilize the church in the first place. Hence I belief that the devil is capitalizing on his introduction of false men of God on a large scale from two angles. firstly by using those people to led people astray and secondly to use the fear and common narrative of Christians being led astray to further toss to and fro well meaning Christians and spiritual babes in the faith. I’m a very strong advocate that a believer’s faith is primarily his own responsible however we must not lose sight of the benefits of accepting the ministry of anointed vessels.
According to the scripture shared above, no matter how anointed you are, no matter how studious, no matter how fire brand you are, you can’t attain the fullness of the stature of Christ without the input of anointed men and women of God in your life. Even pastors must have a pastor, every timothy needs a Paul, and even Paul needed an Ananias, Jesus needed John the Baptist. So this is a spiritual principle we can’t do away with despite the prevailing circumstances of false men of God.
I have found this principle to hold true from personal experience ( it may differ for others), to have an healthy and rapid spiritual growth every Christian must have access to the ministry of a Teacher in the faith ( A PERSON WITH THE TEACHING ANOINTING, NOT JUST TRYING TO TEACH ON HIS OWN. TEACHING IS VERY DIFFERENT FROM PREACHING) and then a prophet ( a new testament prophet, not everything vision things without sound doctrine) or an apostle preferably through their books and messages.
I attend a church whose founder is called to be an apostle and by virtue of this he often manifests as a pastor and prophet frequently, or a teacher sometimes yet there are spiritual principles he will teach that he can never explain like someone who is primarily a teacher. There is just this anointing that makes teacher explain deep things and make them look cheap.
The problem is most churches by virtue of their founder usually have one ministry gift in operation most times, so it’s important that you let the Holy Spirit open your eyes to books and materials of other anointed men of God (living or passed on) to augment your spiritual arsenal.
Not all Christians may need the ministry of the evangelist in their lives but the ministry of teachers, apostles and prophets are so vital to every Christian, that there are somethings you will miss out on if you are not connected to them
Important notes:
1. Out of all these ministries,i didn't mention the pastor, because I believe the ministry of the pastor is non-negotiable, every christian has one (Jeremiah 3:15), you must pick them extra carefully because they often have the closest relationship with you. In this second dream this one is reaally complicated but I will share it in this dream after the first dream I shared above I was with a group of people which I suspect to be Party leaders and we are having a meeting with President Buhari in his bedroom in Aso Rock, me I realized I was just an observer listening to everything been said so Mr Buhari with a very SAD AND UNHAPPY MOODS WAS TELLING THIS PEOPLE THAT HE WANTS TO DIVORCE HIS WIFE AND THE PEOPLE HE WAS TALKING TO WERE LIKE WHY WILL YOU DIVORCE YOUR WIFE AND WHAT WAS HER OFFENCE? Wow, i don't really know much about interpretation of dreams but it's definitely true that there is more than meets the eyes concerning Nigeria, I shared some dreams with regards to that a few weeks ago here. Another thing I have learnt is that the devil is a very dubious and deceptive personality, he would rather want the church to be fighting the wrong enemy while manipulating things from the background. The leadership of this country needs our prayers a lot,our problem is not that party or this party. There are powers in the heavenlies designated to rule the unbelievers over Nigeria Andthis forces manipulate Every unbeliever knowingly or unknowingly and if the genuine children of God (not church goers) don't make intercessions this forces will keep manipulating the society through economic, social and other factors to draw men to sin. For example Now this current economic crunch has killed the conscience of many including christians, they are looking to get rich anyhow and what this stimulate his the judgment of God which we must intercede against. If the people that are called by my name will humble themselves and pray and seek my my face and TURN FROM THEIR WICKED WAYS, I will hear them and heal their land.

Mine is based on the fact that Jesus has paid for my good health as revealed in scripture.

Whenever anything contrary tries to rear up, I simply meditate on this fact and profess it - voila!

My close friend who is also a believer complained of symptoms of asthma, he had rejected it as not being his portion.

Now, I believe that Jesus Christ has made full provision for sound health. At the same time I am a licensed medical doctor.

This is a dilemma, I affirm God's provision of health, and at the same time, I am aware that untreated asthma can lead to sudden death.

My solution - understand that God's promise/provision and our experience in some way can be viewed as the relationship between aviation and gravity.

The experience of flying is not the denial of gravity.

It is the imposition of a higher law over another.

It is wrong to go the top of a building and, without any prior preparation, jump off and expect to fly! It is wisdom to rather do this in a wise and practical manner including adequate preparations. Consider how much safer it is to engage this higher reality by utilising an aircraft.

I encouraged him to go for evaluation and accept therapy as offered - prudence is to heed God's warning signs.
Afterward, to find out God's provision on this matter and engage it by continuously meditating on and professing this reality.
The life of God begins to manifest as we change our deepest thoughts and continuously affirm same. Soon, you realise your experience has eased into this higher reality.

I'm also a Medical Doctor and I face this scenario with patients regularly. Personally I don't use drugs because I CAN'T AND I DON'T fall sick, everything is a function of faith. The problem is people don't have an understanding of faith. Many people think it's strong mindedness that want to have what it likes without a foundation. Any faith that's not based on personal revelation from a divine encounter is likely to fail. I got my own command of health from a revelation of the word and because whatever God(the word) does is forever, it has withstood several tests and never failed me. What I do with those kind of patients is to find out where their expectations come from, is it because they heard so and want to join the bandwagon OR because a pastor said so? If it's not a revelation of truth I just advice them to use drugs.
One scripture that opened my eyes concerning faith is this :
My son, eat thou honey, because it is good; and the honeycomb, which is sweet to thy taste: So shall the knowledge of wisdom be unto thy soul: when thou hast found it, then there shall be a reward, and thy expectation shall not be cut off.

So the reward for the right word encounter is sure delivery of your expectations. as long as the expectation is based on the word, you can rest easy, your friend will be fine.

Another thing that just struck my spirit from both scriptures I just shared above is that, Word encounters don't just happen, YOU ACTIVELY SEEK FOR THEM TILL WE FIND IT AND WHEN YOU GET IT, YOU JUST KNOW YOU HIT A JACKPOT, now I see what David meant when he said[b] Psalm 119:162 KJV: I rejoice at thy word, as one that findeth great spoil.[/b]

I Listened to a man of God recently and he said something along this line that struck me like thunder " if you are a truly redeemed child of God, it's an insult for you to wake up at night and be praying because of the devil, if you must wake up to pray let it be about thanking God, asking for wisdom or something else" . It sounded boastful but when i pondered it, he was right and his boasting was not in himself but what Jesus has done. it is unscriptural to spend your nights fighting the devil as a genuine child of God. why this is what the scriptures say :
It is vain for you to rise up early, to sit up late, to eat the bread of sorrows: for so he giveth his beloved sleep. psalms 127:1 and who is that beloved ? you and i why? because ephesians 1:6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved. since i learnt this from a book anytime i consciously proclaim this and hold Christ to fulfil his promises before i go to bed except on a few situations where i let my faith i have never had any problem sleeping, sex demons oh, nightmares ooh, name any kind of sleep problems i don't have it. that"s what the word of GOD does, it is light that shatters darkness. The Holy Spirit helped me discover it and taught me how to apply it while doing my personal study, if i had refused to study maybe i wont have found it. what else does God say about sleep?
Psalms 4:8 I will both lay me down in peace, and sleep: for thou, LORD, only makest me dwell in safety.
Psalms 91:5-6 5 Thou shalt not be afraid for the terror by night; nor for the arrow that flieth by day;
6 Nor for the pestilence that walketh in darkness; nor for the destruction that wasteth at noonday.
All that's needed is for us to discover and put our faith in Jesus like a baby and trust him to keep his part of the bargain.

Now let me share my experience. on monday night after sharing my testimony of how God helped me to shame the devil when i ate in my dream. It seemed the devil provoke and wanted to shakara me that night . i went to bed around 11 pm, exactly around 2:15pm after phcn had done their usual stuff. suddenly it felt like something entered my room and immediately tried to start pressing me gradually from the leg upwards. so i rebuked it and woke up, i could sense something was i the room but i didn't see anything, next thing i know was i heard something like a cat or a baby crying at my window truth be told small fear catch me (i no be spiritual macho man yet) my mind told me that "yes dem don find you come house, sebi u dy get mouth: but i determined in my heart to hold on to the truth that good sleep was my right and i won't give the devil space to contest it by praying a prayer of unbelief. so i tried speaking in tongues, but it didn't flow, i choose to ignore the voice, i wan form smith wigglesworth by not recognizing the devil, so i walked around and eventually went to the living room to sleep on the sofa. for where ? sleep no come , i could still feel the evil presence . so i went back to my room, slept on my bed and started reminding God of his promises in a conversational tone. Then from nowhere two scriptures came to me one of them i had read during the day . Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid (john 14:27) and i added Jesus you have not given me the spirit of fear, but of power and of a sound mind (2 tim 1:7) and[b] just like that, immediately,it was as if someone took something off my back and as if a person switched on a bulb. the evil presence departed and peace just rushed into the room. [/b] and i fell asleep. i slept so much even (though i had planned to do my normal study and prayer later on) that i was late for work on tuesday . i say all these not to boast in myself but in JESUS CHRIST. I DID NOTHING THAN JUST BELIEVE IN HIS COMPLETED WORKS, I DIDN'T BOTHER TO FIGHT THE DEVIL BECAUSE HE'S NOT MY MATE, BECAUSE I JEJELY CHOSE TO REST IN JESUS SHIKENA.BUTTERFLIES ARE MINDFUL OF COBWEBS, BUT A MAN INSIDE A JEEP(JESUS) SEES A COBWEB, RECOGNIZES IT, HE DOESN'T DENY IT'S EXISTENCE OR IT'S POWER TO IMPEDE ANOTHER PERSON , BUT HE ALSO RECOGNIZES IT CAN'T BE AN IMPEDIMENT TO HIM, SO HE DRIVES ON LIKE THE COBWEB IS NOTHING. THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN WINNING AND LOSING IS OFTEN NOT WHAT WE KNOW, OR THE INTENSITY OF OUR PRAYER, BUT LOOKING AWAY FROM OUR WORKS TO BELIEVING IN THE COMPLETED WORKS OF JESUS. JESUS HAS DONE IT, JESUS HAS SET US FREE. TO HIM ALONE BE ALL THE GLORY.

But if you dont want such dream again Psalm 127:2c "for so He giveth His beloved sleep". shikena no need of fire-fire prayer, just tell God you are His beloved sake of John 3:16 and you need sweet sleep. that's all.

Most people in the Body of Christ don't know how cheap the devil is, because we don't really know Jesus and what he did and many preachers (particularly so called deliverance minsters, FORGIVE ME FOR SAY THAT, THERE ARE A FEW GENUINE ONES)are not helping matters. they have glorified satan so much that the only reason many people are serving God is because of fear of the devil. The truth is that the devil is very powerful but he can only rule over those who are not in Christ. Christ is not just a person, it's a realm. Christ is the secret place of the most high, the shadow of the almighty(psalms 91:1). when he came he paid our ransom, defeated the devil, and made us to sit in heavenly places IN CHRIST JESUS far above the devil (ephesians 2:6, ephesians 1:20-22). SO CHRIST IS A REALM YOU ENTER AND SIT IN, AND OUR ACCESS IS BY FAITH. Our major fight is to labor to enter into this rest. Paul said in Hebrews 4:9-11

9 There remaineth therefore a rest to the people of God.
10 For he that is entered into his rest, he also hath ceased from his own works, as God did from his.
11 Let us labour therefore to enter into that rest, lest any man fall after the same example of unbelief.

We labour in faith to enter into this rest, so we don't fall into the snares of the enemy by unbelief. this is the real fight of faith. that's why agree with sister HananHezron that we Christians need to take personal responsibility for their faith. another persons faith can only help you a bit, but you can only live by own faith. You are right. That is why it is important to be persistant in prayer. There is nothing like unanswered prayer. It is either your prayer does not go beyond your roof as a result of sin or it fails to manifest because of spiritual opposition from the devil and his kingdom. Anybody reading this should note that, God hears the prayer of a righteous man and answer immediately. Then he continued, "Do not be afraid, Daniel. Since the first day that you set your mind to gain understanding and to humble yourself before your God, your words were heard, and i have come in response to them. But the prince of the persian kingdom resisted me twenty one days. Then micheal, one of your chief princes, came to help me, because i was detained there with the king of persia (Daniel 10:12-13). Because we are unaware about the spiritual warfare in this area satan robs us of the answer before it can manifest.

This is very true sir and it's more common with intercessory prayers. What most Christains are not conscious is that there are different kinds of prayers (Eph 6:18) and the rule that governs them differs . The prayer of faith which involves appropriating God's promises to Ourselves is usually straightforward if our faith and standing with God is intact, but with intercession for a person or group of people we are leaving our own territory to plead another person's case. The person may even be in sin or has done something that gives the devil the right to contest the delivery of the answer. That's why intercession is often fierce warfare and you did notice most times when interceding particularly in the Spirit, there is usually this extra fire, extra burden that just comes on you, that compels you to press in prayer till you obtain the answer often signified by a release or a lifting of the burden. I believe that was the case with Daniel and the children of Israel. The Prince of Persia was legally in command of that domain and the children of Israel had been placed in his hands.
Another reason for seemingly unanswered prayers was what God revealed concerning me recently , I was asking God for an answer to something but because my reasoning on that matter was very carnal and my expectation from God was based on wrong information even when God had sent an answer I couldn't recognize it I kept on bothering God in prayer. In many cases, Our Peter is already at the door knocking but because of wrong expectations we may still keep praying and making God look unjust and unfaithful (Acts 12:12-17) . Only God can help us.

Why did i say all these? Because I actually overcame the devil's food attack on me because I had heard testimonies of how people sweatlessly overcame.
A man I know once had a dream. In that dream an elderly man came to his bedroom and forced something in to his mouth (can't remember what it was, a cake or something else) while he was on his bed.the thing became a cockroach in his throat and he was forced to swallow it, suddenly he developed a sharp pain in this tummy which woke him up. As he woke up he was in excruciating pain and as he pondered on what to do. The Holy Spirit reminded him of a Smith wigglesworth testimony where the devil came to visit him at home, but instead of Mr Smith to start panicking and firing prayers, he just said "oh devil so it's you" and went back to bed and nothing happened. So the man said he too choose not to "panic pray" but instead, thanked the devil for the meal and opening the door of financial increase for him. And he went back to bed, the pain ceased and the next week, the man's income doubled . Since then the man has being looking for the devil to bring another meal . You can see how powerful testimonies are. There is no spiritual heavyweight in reality Except Jesus, we are just at the mercy of what we know and what we choose to believe, to exercise faith or to exercise fear. Have a great night sir.

That's the easiest thing to do, when you wake up just ask the devil to bring fruit juice next time . I will be talking more along the line of faith on this platform ,if the Holy Spirit permits. It's important we really know who Jesus is on a deep level, what he did and where you are sitted in the realm of the Spirit. This will help you to know how to exercise your authority in Christ by just putting absolute faith in his completed works. If you have completely accept Jesus as your LORD and saviour then all the devil can do is to bark and lure you out of your place of rest and faith in Christ Jesus into the realm of prayers of unbelief and fear. The devil has tried that trick with me before, I ate with confidence and Just told them that I enjoyed the meal But they should bring fruit juice next time . Since then they gave up. But first thing first examine yourself and your relationship with Jesus. Be conscious of his Grace and not your works and then, use the stone of targetted verses of scriptures to deal with the enemy. He's not interested in anything that will edify us (just check his post on other forums) . The best way to deal with such people is to ignore Or just keep blessing and loving them if you can. Either of those approaches takes out the sting in their operations.

The office of the teacher and that of the prophet are two parallel offices, if you read some of his books, there was one he said he received the teaching anointing. He said he preached a long time and never had the teaching gift.

Like you, I perceive you have the gift of teaching you are not fully there yet but, with patience, constant study as well as a standing and upright relationship with God, you would have the capacity to occupy the office fully. That does not mean i cant teach infact in my service year, I did teach once or twice or made some contributions during bible study that i know its not me that these. Does that make me a teacher.. NO.. But does that mean i can operate in the teaching anointing definitely when the Lord give me.

Na teachers i fear pass self.. they can be so good at what they do that, if you not careful they will turn the bible upside down and still back it up with scriptures.. They will teach same verse you have reading for more than 15 years and you begin to wonder and be like eh en.. So it true sha.

You are absolutely right that the office of the teacher and prophet are two distinct offices but it's possible for someone to be called to stand in more than one offices. There is a lot of controversy along this line sha, but i've read about a lot of people who are called to stand in a particular office and has time went by, God opened another phase of the ministry to them. For e.g with hagin he started out thinking he was a pastor until he was struggling and the Holy Spirit ministered to him, he was pursuing a wrong miministry, however he didn't wait for a full instruction and ran into the evangelist ministry for a year, until God reproved him and unveiled his perfect will for him to be a teacher, which he did for many years until God, unveiled his prophetic ministry to him. At one time he nearly lost his life because he was pursuing another ministry. So he was a teacher but he stood in the office of the prophetic anytime the propehetic unction came on him. I did some study about the scriptural basis of these some time ago and there is a book I read back then " understanding the anointing ". I need to refresh though because it's always good to be hold on to the scriptures not experiential evidence. But I do believe, for some ministers, the vision is unveiled in phases depending on how faithful they are. Thanks sir. I miss them myself; The thing is, i may be wrong but i think God suspended them for a while taking me thru what you can call a "separation process". That's how i can best describe it; God let me know that for the revelations to "flow", i have to part away from quite a few number of things and make amends in a few areas in my life:

Today this morning, while i was [i]"trying to pray", God put this procrastination thing in my mind and He just prompted me like "Today, not Monday, today , you will finish all the work you've been putting aside and you will send it to your boss; like today." And boss is on holiday o. Does God understand that one? . I finally finished paying some colleagues the money i owed them yesterday ; And it was not even much o! I would have done it since .But the laziness to do it...
If God does not literally pressure me or put me under a tough situation where i have no choice, i would just sit there and watch Him. Yeah i know

Another reason for the supension of the revelations: Distractions. Unhealthy distractions for that matter;
I don't just know...i got someone to download "Empire Season 2" The thing even makes me laugh now.
I spent the weekend watching a show that glorifies viciousness, dysfunction ,portraying unnatural scenes in the crudest way I felt disguisted at one point but i kept on watching. At one point i stopped towards the 4th episode...and that is where my problems started. God let me understand all these "Empire" images were packed in my subconscious and it made it difficult to Him to "work";

I even felt like "but if You're not allowing Me to watch/read this or that..how am i going to be informed about what's going on out there?"

Answer from our dear Creator :" So in your mind....Empire is information, abi?" I'm really laughing hard here That answer just finished me. He assured me He will guide Me on how to go about it so that i won't be behind "the latest information". But on His terms.

Something tells me that even "Power" sef, eh... it would be a thing of the past very soon

Looks like God wants to set a kind of timetable for me to follow; With everything being done in due time and due season and in order.

Wow! Indeed the times is here. Were you able to decipher the date written on the board? My dreams are usually vivid. I see and here things exactly how they seem, but codes (Numbers), dates are usually difficult to decipher.

Honestly for some reason it was purposely blurred, I did see a 2*** as I strained, my closest guesstimate was 2047 but as I didn't exactly know what it was about and I didn't want to run to error. I didn't share tthat part. I don't usually operate revelational gifts of the Holy Spirit but recently I have had a spike in trances and meaningful dreams. I believe the cooperate anointing plus education from this forum is a contributory factor. As for the number I didn't see clearly, my closest assumption will be 2047 . Does 2047 ring a bell as a code?
The funny thing is both dreams started from phone, had almost the same message. If you didn't share yours I won't have had a more firm conviction that the revelation was from GOD.

Suddenly the face of my phone turned into a manuscript with a strange writing. The alphabets were not english, but of an unknown origin. Surprisingly i was able to read and and understand all that is written there-in. The content of this manuscritpt are repulsive. The works of darkness are repulsive in the most profound sense of that word, and we must recognize them as such. My brother who was sitting close to me asked; what is it? I began to explain the content as i've read. It talks about sexual immorality in all of its ramification, Fornication, adultry, homosexuality, bestiality, masturbation, incest, etc, it says the spirit has been poured out and people will, before i could finish the last sentence, unknown to me one of the fella lying at the extreme end of the rug is a demon. With his face downward he said yes, people will do it more than ever before, this he repeated 3 times and immediatly leaped on the person next to him and began to have sex with him, he grew fangs like a dog, grabbed his neck and began to drain him. On seeing this i held my brother by the hand and we began to run. We ran outside and the demon came after us, we saw the gate of the next house before our own opened. We ran inside , but the demon could not enter though the gate was till open. He just stood at the door mouth and was staring at me with anger, i turned and stared back at him. This demon looks exactly like a vampire, just like the one we see in movies. Satan is working with a great intensity, he desires to embrace the whole world in his confederacy hiding his deformity under the garb of christianity. I see a spirit prevailing in the world today, trancending all age groups, even in the church. Sexual immorality has become the norm of our society. There is nowhere that the contents are not found. Pornography is
rampant in the world today. Perhaps more than anything else,
Satan has succeeded in twisting and perverting sex. He has taken what is good and right, loving
sex between a husband and wife, and replaced it with lust, pornography, adultery, rape, and
homosexuality. Pornography can
be the first step on a very slippery slope of ever increasing wickedness and immorality. Let us pray against this spirit.

the Spirit is indeed one, this is almost exactly the dream I had a few weeks ago, I shared it here on this forum on August 13, u can scroll back to check. I heard the LORD speak to me clearly about a massive increase in immorality. To be honest I only shared a scaled down version of that dream with you guys here. What I saw was too putrid, The rapes, the homosexuality, the murders and I saw a date that was deliberately blurred so I wouldn't know it, but I knew the day was very close, very very close, it almost felt like this century but I don't want to speculate on that, at one point I was nearly doubting myself but I knew I didn't pray to see it, neither was I thinking about the last days at that period. I saw the moon vanish, you can scroll back to August 13 on this page and read some of what I shared. IN THE MOUTH OF TWO OR MORE WITNESSES IS A THING CONFIRMED. THE PERILOUS TIMES IS HERE.

About ur question, i am hardly a teacher, infact i lack d patience nd tactfulness of a teacher( going line upon line, precept upon precept...) as evident in my posts. Sincerely i really pray for the teaching grace and i envy teachers. I think I fare better in d pastoral.
I believe if we all contribute our gifts to dis thread, definitely we will discover those with the teaching grace among us here cos i know God can't leave us without teachers

most times its people that learn from you that will notice that you're a good teacher initially and even if u are naturally not a good teacher, if you really study and listen to some like hagin who was a prophet And teacher something will naturally rub on you. Very good point, however from my little study of tongues what happened at Pentecost is a peculiar situation. Lets look at 1 Cor 14:2 again, amplified version

For one who speaks in an [unknown] tongue speaks not to men but to God, for no one understands or catches his meaning, because in the [Holy] Spirit he utters secret truths and hidden things [not obvious to the understanding].
I believe(Maybe very wrong) God allowed the event at Pentecost to be so just to glorify himself. I don't think it's a regular occurrence that people hear other's speak in tongues in their native language. I've heard a couple of occasions but it's rare. Most times if people will hear it's usually an operation of the gift of interpretation of tongues. That's why we all need that gift, I get some personal interpretation some times but it's not common. It's like we are having so many power gifts (gift of unlimited faith, working of miracles and healing) and revelational gifts (word of wisdom, word of knowledge and discernment of spirits) but less vocal gifts (interpretation of tongues and diversities of tongues) these days. Unlike what I read from the early 20th century. Could it be there are many fakes? Maybe, or maybe people think those vocal gifts except gift of prophecy are not flashy like the power gifts/revelational gifts hence we don't covet it And the Holy Spirit is locking up Hmm I think the later maybe the case.

Well I've thought about it @ Lamasta and analice107 . I don't think what any of us believe on this topic makes much difference, as long as we believe praying in tongues is a fool proof realm of prayer as stated in Romans 8:26-27 because you will always pray the will of God and God will always respond when we pray his will (1jn 5:14) . Let's move on, I believe that Satan can't hear sha, because if he hears ,he can as well empower any high ranking human agent of his kingdom to understand, in other words when you pray in tongue some empowered humans can understand nullifying Paul's assertion In 1 Cor 14:2. Again that Satan was a former angel doesn't mean he can understand or operate Kingdom mysteries (mark 4:11), that's why he can only counterfeit he can't speak or understand real tongues. Tongues is an operation of the Holy Spirit and only those who are of his kingdom should be able to operate and (If he will's) understand it. makes no difference though. Most important thing is that tongues offers immense advantages sha. Lets move on

You are equally right about speaking in tongues; In fact, i encourage believers to speak in tongues; not babbling, speaking a language actually. It doesn't even matter if you babble first; that's how it starts for some;

Just speak in tongues for long hours on end; when you're working, at school ,when you doing your chores, when you reading your Bible, when you going to fix your hair or if you are at the barber's ; just whisper under your breath; they will gradually develop into languages. Practice makes perfect; Don't worry if you feel awkward ; it's sometimes like that at the beginning.

You're actually right about the statement that the person of the Holy Spirit is the Power of the Holy Spirit in a sense. I think my use of English was bad there, what I meant is actually the habit of people looking for manifestation of supernatural events, the gifts, signs and wonders, concentrating on speaking in tongues (which is good) without actually looking for a sweet communion With the person that makes this things to happen. People want to skip the step of knowing how the person feels and reacts to things , what grieves him and what brings him joy. People want to skip the part of hearing his voice and chatting with him straight to manifesting his power. I'm guilty of those things I just said, but most of us are guilty without knowing. And that's why many people command signs, see visions have gifts, but there is little evidence of close interaction of the person of the Holy Spirit in their language and actions. The manifestations of his power are good but it's the communion with him that changes US INTO THE VERY LIKE LIKENESS (IMAGE) OF CHRIST FROM ONE LEVEL OF GLORY TO GLORY (2 COR 3:18) . A Christian can manifest the power to a certain extent without knowing the person responsible for the power. I hope u get what I'm trying to say now .
