sCun: Why can't Egypt join hands with us to prevent Boko haram from reaching their territory?
Because boko haram is a much more lesser threat, egypt can tackle boko haram as much as we can.so BH isnt much of a threat to a military giant like egypt, moreover,we never asked them for help.but ISIS is a different matter entirely, egypt alone can never defeat ISIS.To flush out ISIS: egypt will attack libya from the east, nigeria will push upward from the south;with constant aerial bombardment,we will reduce ISIS to rubble before it becomes a major threat. egypt cant do it alone, they do not have missile armed drones to carry out selective airstrikes{Nigeria does},they have limited CT Ops training and experience{Nigerian troops have a knowledge base of CT Ops intelligence, tactics, and experience due to our five year war against islamic terror},they need the satellite and surveillance assets that we have. we need an african coalition force against ISIS.
Msauza: BH defeated you many a times man on man and your army was the one which was often found to have cunningly transformed itself into civilians when the heat was boiling.
thats because BH fighter could easily surround us in battle, but now with the support of chad and cameroon,we are squeezing them like peanuts. . . KABOOOOM!!!!
DieVluit: There will no be total annihilation. Think. The Boko Haram came out of your pathetic socio-economic situation. Until that is addressed, the military game won't achieve total annihilation. Nigeria's problems are self-created and have now become the problem of other countries. http://www.voanews.com/content/boko-haram-resorts-to-guerilla-tactics-as-pressure-mounts/2655726.html "Now they are going to activate cells in cities and attempt to hit at cities, and continue the war, but not in occupying territories, and not in being very defensive. You know they are going to go underground, but just a motley [group] of armed insurgents, fighting in some chosen areas," said Abdulkadir. But I believe that the attack is going to continue more with suicide bombings but also attack on urban populations." http://america.aljazeera.com/opinions/2015/2/african-union-forces-may-exacerbate-boko-haram-threat.html [b]African Union forces may exacerbate Boko Haram threat
owobokiri: This is a very good idea... If we don't go to Libya to get them, after several years of training in Libya with Libya's vast state infrastructure, ISIS will be formidable enough to start spreading rapidly across Africa. With their striking success in Iraq, most African states with their fledgling armies will be of no match.. Tackling ISIS in Libya NOW is the best way forward... But again is the Americans going to like that? ISIS is a very good destabilizing force. And the destabilization of Africa fits Americas foreign policy drives.., so?
on point, the west will stand back and allow ISIS to destabilize africa, especially countries like Nigeria.after boko haram is defeated,we need to arm and train our military for "armageddon".A great crisis is looming,a war is coming, and may God help us if we arent prepared for it.
papaejima1: Exactly! When it finally gets to our shores, they would be the first to say the govt was not proactive and lacked foresight. But right now, we are content with living inside our shells forgetting that as the egyptians said, "it would be like a man shutting his door against a fire"
Msauza: Don't underestimate Boko Haram, it had been reduced to rag tag militants many a times and had always thrived powerful afterwards and grab back the land. BH is very prudent and more intelligent than your army. Once it sees that your army is powerful in conventional war they resort to guerilla style of offensive and suicide bombings to demoralise and frustrate your military.
we arent fighting in a conventional way,a conventional war will seek to capture POWs,but we are driving towards total annihilation. think with your coconut head . . KABOOOM!!!!
Msauza: Chief, you are not protecting the whole of Africa against ISIL, you are protecting your own bottom which you can't even protect alone without other countries' help. Boko Haram wants to establish their own caliphate in Nigeria the same way it was during sokoto era just before the invasion of the British.
Stop spitting out lies like a spitting Mozambican cobra.
and where is boko haram today?,reduced to a three fortress ragtag zombie force. ISIS is next, mark my words.
papaejima1: Bros come join me take one bottle jawe!
Don't mind those who know next to nothing about strategic defense! Am sure when ISIS started in Iraq, the Libyans were seeing it as some far off battle that wouldn't near them because they have their own problems at home. Egypt also never dreamed it would affect them. But today what do we have?
Libya is overrun and Egypt has lost 21 christians to the group.
Forward thinking and proactive actions are best for us.
It pains me how ignorant some nigerians can be. if it becomes our problem tomorrow, people will begin blaming the government for not doing anything.forgetting that it was they who caused the problem in the first place.
Until they arrive at our doorstep?,libya is barely 1500km away from our border!,niger and chad{that are inbetween libya and nigeria} pose little resistance to ISIS....we should join hands with egypt and stop ISIS before they reach our borders and start recruiting millions of our northern youths who remain blinded by a barbaric religion. we must be proactive, act rather than react,or we may regret it while we watch our country implode.
stillchris: it's eating dievult up. where is SA? irrelevant i tells you... highly irrelevant.
hehehehehe....this is just the beginning of our hegemony. First,we seize the economy and became africa's biggest and most prosperous economy by a LARGE margin, now we are seizing military leadership on the continent, protecting africa against ISIS so that south africans can sleep peacefully. yesterday, the presidents of both congo and equitorial guinea came to shower GEJ with praises in abuja, lauding nigeria's swift and merciless destruction of boko-are-rams fighters, and thanking us for our strong leadership.
MikeCZAR: If SAN deploys its submarines at sea simultaneously the platforms will have to undergo refit or maintenance at the same time, leaving the navy with no sub-surface capability until refit is complete. With that cleared. They are rotated. 1. One operational at sea.(Possible it might have shadowed your vessel ) 2.One use for training crews. 3. One undergoing refit and maintenance in dry dock. New battery cells were shipped from Germany.A single sub can cause great havoc at sea.
shadowed our vessel?,mumu.what you typed is basically what i said,so your point is?
MikeCZAR: Do you what is used to carry the WIA when travelling in the C-130 for a long time?
Only one SANDF soldiers was captured but he was returned with his full kit by the Seleka commander who negotiated for a ceasefire.
SA had a small training team in CAR, when the rebels advanced South. The available options for SA was to run home or send more troops to protect that training team.
400 paratroopers were going to be sent to CAR to protect that team, the first group of 200 were sent and the situation improved after negotiations and Seleka leaders were given government posts.
But on that Friday Seleka "arrested" their ministers and gave Bozize 9 hours. They advanced South on Friday boasting they're at the gates of Bangui but they met SA forces their advance was completely stopped.
They only managed to infiltrate small numbers of rebels into the city, they couldn't take Bangui from Friday until Sunday.
