Pity your $80 billion can't buy you aviation fuel or Tents for your troops in the DRC.
haha..thats probably why zuma cannot go to britain for the innovaBRICS event, instead of him to begg an african brother{nigeria} for fuel,he is busy forming familiarity.i know if he asks jonathan nicely,he will dash him a few gallons of jet fuel,he's kinda nice like that.but zuma is proud dude, because i see no harm in him pleading for a few keggs of fuel.

i fear that the whole northern territory will be conquered if this continues unchecked, and if the north is taken, the south is next, and if nigeria is taken?,west africa is doomed,if west africa fall to an islamic emirate{empire},its only a matter of time before africa is consumed,i just pray it wouldnt come to that.as it is,we have no choice but to take international assistance{if it is given to us},or call an emergency AU meeting,Nigeria has the power to summon an emergency AU consencus, and call for an AU mission.

That's untrue, no poor man can ever detest free things in this world. Your government cannot just afford to provide them. Period!!
hmm....perhaps,but they are always suspicious about it notwithstanding.they may collect it,but that doesnt say they arent suspicious.

Governments are not run like private companies. They make revenues and not profits even though they seem to mean the same thing, but there is a thin distinction between the two. The government's involvement in the running of industry is dependant on two aspects, viz, political will and lack of potential investors. Governments run industries in case they want to nationalise such services or if there were no investors to run such big entities or enterprises.
we are saying the same thing love,a government can run an enterprise so far they are not profit but revenue based, which means they wont be as aggressive in their market domination strategy as the private own companies.see, simple common sense settles it!

I just pointed out the military victories in the 1800s and i was asking you. If they never had an empire , how come their political and military reach so vast
have you ever heard of the france empire?,the french had a kingdom, not an empire, just like how the american, russian and german military and political reach are vast, yet they arent and havent ever been empires.

SA government also owns numerous companies (SABC, DENEL, ESKOM, SAA, TRANSNET, POST OFFICE, etc) but that does not mean that it makes profit. Governments are non-profit making organisations.
err...so all the money made in these "many" companies are thrown into the sewers? *looks at him with pity* who did this to you?,how did you degenerate to such a stage?.

So, all European countries are including America and Canada. All of those countries give all those services to their citizens because they have much bigger financial muscle that afford them to do it. By the way SA has now been cut out from receiving foreign aid excluding in matters of HIV/AIDS.
nigerians detest free things,it makes them suspicious, even the oldest dumbest illiterate in the country will take a tentative sniff before taking a bite at such gifts.we rather prefer to work in order to put food on our table.notwistanding,we have free water, schooling{up to secondary level},vaccines and healthcare{at government owned hospitals} etc.of course no one wants to give SA grants and aids to squander anymore, even with all the aids given to you,you guys still patronize violence, assasination and robbery!

All governments are non profit making organisations. why would they keep profit. All the money collected will have to be declared on a budget speech as well as the surplus of the previous budgets which normally occurs when any departments underspend their budgets, all of that will have to be collected and remitted back to the treasury.
wow...tell that to china, russia, georgia etc. where most of the companies are government owned, the government practically controls the industry.so in your mind china's government is a non-profit organisation?,oh i pity your ignorance,i am practically getting embarassed on your behalf.the nigerian government has stakes and investments too.sorry dear.try again.

@Evarn must start to ask himself why is the government of SA is doing more for its citizens despite being marred by chronic corruption.

-Building of massive infrastructure by the government and not the private sector
-Free healthcare
-Social services ( pensions, grants to children and terminally I'll.
-Road accident fund
-Free housing
-Power provision
-Free water supply and sewage, etc

The above mentioned amenities are all that Nigerian government cannot afford to give to its citizens free of charge because of their limited financial muscle. Nigeria might have bigger economy, but cannot match SA revenues, not even close. Thank you!!!
if the nigerian wanted to start giving free gifts to its citizens, they did do it conveniently.but unlike SA,nigeria isnt a country of lazy freeloaders, infact if the government today decides not to allocate a budget anymore, the citizens will start making their own budgets and pooling together their revenues!

You are suffering from a severe psychological syndrome. Budgets of many countries are a representation of an actual revenues of everything which they have collected in a given financial year. So, please!! stop twisting facts and start to behave like a professional in this particular discourse.
so in SA,you spend all your revenue on a fiscal budget per year?,so if your revenue for a year were $50billion,you will appropiate a $50billion budget?,no buffer account?,no excess revenue account?,no national reserve account?,no investment account?,no deficit support account?,no foreign reserve account?,no supplementary fund account?,no national trust and bond account?,you just blow your money into one budget?.little wonder your president is always carrying a presidential begging bowl to BRIC to give him money every time, they will soon start putting a travel ban on him,the way cameron is currently doing.

That is a bloody lie you pulled out of ur a55. If the french never won any battle, How did their empire got so big?
You are picking the battles that happened during the decline of the French Empire. Go and read about "Françafrique" The French policy towards their African colonies changed to a political and diplomatic one after the second world war and It is still in effect. and they still have military bases all over the continent. French troops left Vietnam because they did not get America's support at the latter stages of the conflict (pretty ironic that the Americans will go and die there as well) and the UN was no longer tolerating European imperialism. But yeah they were routed pretty well and disgraced.
They Fought and won the Third ,Fourth ,Fifth Coalition wars, Crimean war, Took Algeria, not to talk of IndoChina to name a few. and that's only in the 18th Century.
indeed, the french never had an empire, and they have never won any "MODERN WARFARE">>1700-2014

Man!! indeed, your cranium is damaged. Nigeria's revenues are worth $23 billion. I just only hope you make peace with it and move on because even your government says so during their budget speech. That means you are not up to date with the news of your own country.
fool!,the minister was talking about a budget spending $24billion,not total revenue, jesus christ!,who did this to you?

Patchesagain:
Dude, all known sources say your govt only has a revenue of some $23 or so billion.

Poor taxation, poor tax-structures, double accounting, off-shore havens etc are all to blame for low revenues
be realistic for God's sake!,if a country like nigeria with a GDP of $510billion,is getting gross revenue of $20billion per year, how can a country of 170million survive.how many barrels of oil do we produce a day at a cost of $100 as at 2013?,in 2013 alone,we made $68billion from oil+non-oil revenue, imagine the revenue a year.SA generates about $101billion per year, how is that different?

I wouldn't put China as Number one, because they still rely on copied or stolen tech, China is just really good at taking other peoples tech and improving it, they haven't really reached that "innovative stage" yet, they have the largest but not the strongest defence force.
yet my friend,yet...if they continue with this trend, then they would sooner or later achieve the innovative status, but i just pray that countries like china or russia do not become the next world leaders, they are dictatorial in their principles, they wouldnt have any qualms wiping out a whole race from the face of the planet if they feel "threatened",the US is the lesser of two evils.

What modern warfare are you talking about? Post world war or pre world war?

The French military haven't lost any war since Vietnam (and technically, they didn't loose in Vietnam it was more of a political victory for the Vietnamese). They are usually in an alliance since then anyway. Military power is always measured by capabilities.(Military, political and industrial) Not by the numbers of battle won or lost.
*napoleon?-he was defeated at waterloo
*the north african territories defeated the french troops to gain independence
*vietnam?-the french troops lost and ran out of vietnam.the americans came to big-boy,they were nearly defeated in the initial assault, south vietnam.
in all of history, france has never won any war except repelling the british invasion in the 17th century

You lack enough common sense to understand that the POTENTIAL 10Billion in exports (not actual) does not go straight into your governments pockets

Good lord man. I am astounded by the utter and complete irony of your post

Facts are facts - your government lives off a paltry 25billion income
dude, you better patch you cracked skull
http://mobile.bloomberg.com/news/2013-10-31/nigeria-finance-ministy-says-revenue-gap-may-reach-12-billion.html
in 2013,nigeria was expecting $80 billion from oil alone{though it was reduced by $12 billion,to about $68 billion},add in taxes,royalties,import/export duties,IGRs,revenue from government owned facilities, revenue by sector e.t.c.,imagine what you would have after adding everything up!,do some research please

Brazil is the largest economy and biggest military in south America. They are a huge emerging economy. Nukes doesn't necessarily make you a military superpower (Pakistan is an example) and don't even mention Nigeria in the same sentence. They also have a very robust local military industry (one of the few south american countries that produces fighter/utility jets ,helicopters and missiles)
indeed..but my point is that, they havent been tested in any modern warfare,of course you cant compare nigeria with brazil, not yet at least...but many african and middle-eastern countries that have a weaker military force than brazil, still has more experience in modern warfare{thats why i sited nigeria as an example}.france has military numbers, economy, political power, nukes, tech and logistics but they have lost every modern warfare they ever fought!

hmm...brazil hasnt been tested in any serious modern warfare{even nigeria have fought and is still fighting modern armed forces},they do not have nukes, though they have a semblance of military tech.,still will that be enough?

information just reaching me from a credible source says that there is heavy gunfire going on in maiduguri, borno state military camp in a military test-fire currently going on.difference military exercises are currenty going on in preparation of a major offensive to liberate the nigerian territory claimed by boko haran jihadist, and flush them out of their self proclaimed 'caliphate'.

some people are getting rather desperate in their bid to tell more lies and deny facts/proofs.even if a dunderhead saffer is staring at hard facts right in front of his nose,he would still deny it{violently} in favour of propagating more lies and malice.no matter,SA will soon be left far behind, nigeria will soon be the african 'land of opportunities',be prepared to come sell pork and carrot here,we are kinda friendly like that.
