If OP knows what he's doing, moving to NZ is the right call. He can work, get a PhD (naija or NZ) and be better for it.

I mentioned my near-NZ experience in another comment. I have 2 classmates with PhDs working in NZ. it's an underrated country far far away.

I would say this depends on your prior relationship with supervisor and other staff in your Dept.

You can start afresh after you resumed your job. PhD students can work full time in NZ. PhD Admission is quite easy if you have a sound proposal and potential supervisor. Most schools have scholarship consideration in their application process. I got PhD admission with Auckland University of Technology in 2020 without funding because of Covid-19 wahala

The Nigerian Association of Zoological Gardens and Wildlife Parks (NAZAP) is to undergo urgent professional development that will be a catalyst for the transformation of its member facilities. This was made known by the Chairman NAZAP Board of Trustees Prof Olajumoke Morenikeji, following the resignation of its President, Mr. Oladipo Bali.

In the acceptance of the resignation, the BOT Chairperson thanked the former President for his contributions to the advancement NAZAP.

On his part, another Trustee / Secretary of the NAZAP BOT Mr Andy Osa Ehanire, said that there will be a fresh Accreditation process for all Zoo and Wildlife facilities that will pave way for the election of new Executives and the reconstitution of the NAZAP Governing Council.

The Chairman had earlier called for increased synergy amongst wildlife stakeholders as recently prescribed by the Convention on International Trade in Endangered Species (CITES), during the recent World Wildlife Day commemoration. She emphasised that Zoos remain a veritable scheme for wildlife Conservation and thus deserve adequate support from both Government as well as corporate organisations.
She further said that Zoos will continue to make impact in the growth of tourism in Nigeria. Other Trustees are Alh Ali Yola, Dr. Moses Oyatogun, Mr. Francis Abioye and Mallam Aminu Beli.

You are right. Someone has a very big ulterior motive and the other partner does not know that s/he is simply being led to the marriage slaughter.

I won't be surprised if so many corners were cut (full of deception and fake love) in this rushed wedding. Give it a few months, and the innocent party will start realizing the trap.

Can you help out in suggesting top Universities that offer the course abroad. So far, Griffith University Australia is the only one I've seen in the top 1000. Problem is, they are not in the top 10 in Australia. A university must be in the top 1000 globally and top 10 in home country. This is a requirement if my employer is to allow me.

Your father placing restrictions on your movement is for your own safety. A time will come when you will have the chance to do as you please. In a very short time in fact. You also need to know that when that time comes, you'll need to be able to control/curtail your need to attend every show. This freedom of choice and prioritization comes naturally with age and maturity. If not, financial standing and work commitments will force you to decide. Enjoy your protection from daddy while it lasts.

Kinda like a natural park, because we get to see different animals out here doing their thing. Snakes, frogs, different birds like flamingoes, and all. We still have the tortoise (last pic) that made its way into our compound. I'm waiting to see a crocodile come into my compound, I will be ready. And guys - this is no village or forest. This is Lagos!

Yes, this creature...pangolin can be found in Nigeria especially the rainforests of southern Nigeria. More prevalent in south west region. It is very elusive and a highly prized "bushmeat". However, as a wildlifer and conservationist, i am happy that the international smugglers were caught. Trafficking of pangolin scales resultd in the death of hundreds if not thousands of this endabgered species

The snake your friend killed is a species (Rock python-Python sabae), whose population is being decimated at an alarming rate in recent times.

It is one of the beautiful, non-venomous reptile in Nigeria's rapportoire of wildlife species. They should be conserved and not killed at every given opportunity. It will interest you to know that the snake that was killed among others help in controlling the population of pests and vermin such as domestic and wild rats by feeding on them. These rats are vectors of diseases such as lassa fever, etc

I know the negative perception and phobia for snakes is high, let us educate our people to avoid unwanton killing of these wonderful creatures.

FACT: Snakes like other wildlife species avoid humans as much as we avoid them. They only attack when we intrude their space, habitat, privacy. Reason is because they feel threatened.

Let us #save our wildlife species!

LEARN THE ART OF MODERATION (PART 2)... SELF CONTROL !!!

Hello Dear Friend,

I hope you had a simple and moderated day yesterday.

Today, we shall continue in our moderation series. The focus is on SELF CONTROL or SELF MASTERY if you will.

In our race for success, and our desire for improvement in every sphere of our lives, be it in the financial, emotional, career, spiritual or social circles, we may or may not know the acceptable boundaries to keep. That is, our actions or inactions might step on people's toes, emotions, will power, authority, freewill, Respect, name it!. Try as you may, you can't help but have one or two disgruntled rivals either at work, family, church or mosque, School, social gathering, etc. You cannot please everybody!. However, in order not to escalate the number of your "haters", you need to practice and make SELF CONTROL/MASTERY a habit. My friend, this requires re-examining your life.

An unexamined life is not worth living ---- oracle at Delphi

Re-examining your life require you or a trusted unbiased 3rd party to x-ray your character, your approach to issues, people and challenging situations generally. If you can objectively point out your areas of weakness and strength whilst fashioning out ways to work on those weaknesses, you are well on your way to character renewal. The expected results varies depending on temperament(internal) and upbringing/social environment(external) factors.


SELF CONTROL/MASTERY simply put is a man's ability to say NO, to things he has weakness for or primarily lack control over. In other words, it is your ability to say NO to things, people, situations, temptations that are unimportant or potentially harmful to you and to your relationships with others. If you are a sweet tooth, saying NO to chocolates everyday is self control. Declining drinks after work with colleagues especially when you know you are not a strong drinker is self control. It saves you from unnecessary embarrassment.

Your ability to say No to bad things you always like to do, refusing to treat people badly, avoiding dangerous habits like smoking, drinking, talking too much, backbiting, any other addiction And bad character is the first step towards self mastery.

HOW TO MAKE SELF CONTROL A HABIT
Making self control a habit requires that you set an initial target of SAYING NO as discussed above for a few days to few weeks. Basically, psychologists have surmised that an act repeated consistently for a month stand better chance of becoming a habit. Don't forget to reward yourself when you meet your target. It's a positive motivating factor towards learning the new habit of SELF CONTROL.

NOTE:
Self control is not easy especially for a carefree spirited person. It requires a strong desire for positive change and will power to achieve results.

ADVANTAGES OF SELF CONTROL
1. you become unpredictable, which reduces the chance of people manipulating you at will
2. You gain people's respect for being able to hold your own
3. You have more time to do and be with productive people.
4. Prevents embarrassment

DISCLAIMER: saying NO too much might make you miss opportunities that may never be regained. Discretion is advised.
