Today at BlackBerry Live, CEO Thorsten Heins announced BBM will soon be available on Android and iOS. The messaging app will launch globally this summer. This is a huge move for BlackBerry as it brings BB10′s strongest feature to literally hundreds of millions of potential users.
“It is a state of confidence,” Heins explained. “The BB10 platform is so strong and the response has been so good that the time is right for BBM to become an independent mobile messaging platform.”
The app will be free on both Android and iOS. Much like other messaging apps, it will be a standalone application. iOS 6 or Ice Cream Sandwich will be required.
Initially, only messaging and group features will be available. But Heins promised that the rest of BBM will eventually make its way to the Android and iOS versions including screen sharing, BBM voice and the just-announced BBM channels.
We are making the BBM platform more powerful than ever”, Heins proudly stated. And with this very uncharacteristic move from BlackBerry, it’s hard to argue against his statement.
It’s clear BlackBerry is finally waking up. They are no longer the big dog in the mobile war. If they are to survive, the company needs to forge new relationships and learn to work well with the two reigning platforms. This move to put BBM on Android and iOS is a big step forward. BlackBerry might actually have a chance.

A very great thread i found!!! I have loved online biz a lot. Anywhere i am, u always find me clinged to my smart fone. Its only ba3 juice that seperates our fight (lol). In the words of basket mouth our great comedian "There are two things involved in everything we do" You should ask yourself this question.who are we creating this website for? if its for Nigerians and foreigners abroad,there is no problem but if it is for Nigerians at home then there are two things involved.it is either they browse the website by their slow mobile internet connection or only the very wealthy once visit the site.if the wealthy ones visit the site,there is no problem but if the blackberry internet connectors visit the site. bro there are so many things involved. lol

I dont think its the Connectify... Its my pc that got the prob. I tried on a friends laptop who use Modem and also Connectify. My fone connected flawlessly. i've being searching the internet for solution. Its neither my fone nor connectify. Its my PC.

I use Connectify on my PC, If i go to Cyber cafe.. (Using the cable connectio) i can connect my devices (phones etc)
But when i get connected using my MTN USB Modem. The connectify starts but my devices wont connect. Would keep authenticating till Thy Kingdom Come.
Anyone got a solution?

Dominique... This is an Android device, the only different thing is the name and maybe the specs compared to Big brands like Samsung etc... They run same app. I'm planning to go for one of these type. Not that rich to get Sansung, Nexus etc.

KazaaUpload: My bros you've said it all. Me I love phones and have owned 4 Blackberry, the iphone 3G (from 2008), HTC 8x, galaxy s3 and iPhone 4S.....so I downed all platforms.
All are good and it comes down to opinions. But one is limiting themselves by not doing there own research and just keep saying the same (iPhone has no memory card) etc etc.

The beauty of the iPhone is that it's resell value holds more than any other. In most stores, the iphone 4 (a phone from THREE YEARS AGO) is still one of the top 5 selling handsets. Like you said that says it all.
I love android cos it allows customization. But reality is 90% of people have no desire, or no time to be rooting their phones, sending music over Bluetooth to their friends and all of that. I will keep saying it, the iPhone remains the highest selling phone in the world, and their is a reason for that. Sleek design, best selection of apps (the newest apps ALWAYS come to iPhone first - Instagram, temple run, BBC, you name it), intuitive OS, awesome camera, built in iCloud, iTunes U education resources built in, etc). Most techies would prefer android and that's cool too.

iPhone and iOS does so many things well, but the screen size is too damn small for my needs now.
