The 19-year-old Senior Secondary School student, Saka Ahmed also known as Ejo, of Gaskia College, Amukoko, Lagos, who allegedly stabbed a prefect, Saheed Jimoh, to death on Wednesday for punishing him over lateness, has been arrested by the police.

DAILY POST recalls that trouble started on Tuesday when 19-year-old Jimoh, who was a school prefect, punished Ejo, who only resumed for the term on Monday, for an offence he committed. The punishment meted out on Ejo resulted to a fight between the duo outside the school premises after closing hours.

However, he was said to have been arrested by policemen attached to Amukoko Division, in his hideout somewhere around the vicinity, at about 6.40pm on Thursday.

Also arrested earlier were six students of the college.

Before his arrest , DAILY POST reports that the suspect’s father was invited by the Police for questioning. At 2pm., he was still being interrogated by the police.

At the Gaskia College yesterday, normal school activities had resumed as students were seen in their respective classes receiving lectures.

Officials from the office of Educational Quality Assurance, Zone 14, were also sighted in the school, compiling reports of the incident.
The school Principal was not around, but a man who identified himself as the Vice Principal, was hostile to reporters, saying he was not authorized to speak to the press.

However, a student, who spoke on condition of anonymity, said, “There are several cult factions in the school. It is an open secret that many students are involved in cult-related activities and the use of charms.

“One of the common charms used by some of the students is called ‘no touch blood’, which is a very poisonous charm that kills instantly when it comes in contact with blood. Perhaps, in the case of Saheed, his killer could have tried to test the potency of the charm,” the unnamed student added.

Another student speaking on the incident said, “He failed woefully and was supposed to repeat SSS 2. He was in the same class with the deceased, who was promoted to SSS 3. But he stopped coming to school.

“On Monday, his father brought him to school to see the principal; only for the incident to occur on Wednesday,” he added.

An undisclosed police source however, said that the case would be investigated to its logical conclusion.

The lawyers representing Senate President, Dr Bukola Saraki, at the Code of Conduct Tribunal over alleged false declaration of assets, yesterday, walked out of the court abandoning the Senate president in the dock.


The defence lawyers, comprising three Senior Advocates of Nigeria and 24 other lawyers staged a walk-out following the refusal of the tribunal chairman, Justice Danladi Umar to suspend the trial until Saraki’s appeal before the Supreme Court is determined.

Saraki’s lawyers accused the tribunal of engaging in an act of “judicial rascality”, by refusing to accord respect to the apex court which they said was already seized of the facts of the case, saying they would not take part in an “illegal proceeding”.

Speaking from the dock after all his lawyers had left, Saraki told the court that he had limited knowledge of the legal system, even as he begged for time to seek legal assistance.

“Mr. Chairman, I find myself in a new terrain. Firstly is the fact that my lawyers walked out on me. I need time to go and beg them to come back and in any event that they refuse, I need to look for best hands to defend me. I need to ask them why they did what they did today (yesterday). If they refuse to come back I will then know where to go from there,” Saraki pleaded.

Justice Umar adjourned the case till November 19 for hearing. He also berated Saraki’s legal team, saying “the action of the defendant’s team smacked of disrespect”.

Singer Davido has revealed why his much-anticipated sophomore album has not been released.

The singer had on numerous occasions announced the release of the LP, but came up with vague cancellations as the proposed date drew near. Davido has explained the reason behind the delay, citing the interest of a ‘big corporation’ with distribution interests as responsible for the delay.

“The album is done, everything, but funny enough, two days before we were about to drop the album, we got a call from a very big corporation that wants to be involved in the album distribution, that’s why we pulled back.” Davido told 360jamng.

“There’s no point doing things the same. If you are going to do it big, there’s no point doing it at all. That’s why I chilled back, and I want to let the big corporations do their work. But the album is coming.” [/b]He further said. [img]http:///wp-content/uploads/2015/11/Davido.jpg[/img]




Titled “[b][b]Baddest[/b]”, Davido’s album already has a number of hit singles including ‘Dodo’, ‘The Sound’, ‘Fans mi’, and ‘Owo ni koko’. He is currently working on releasing the video of a song off the album. It is named ‘The money’, and features YBNL rapper Olamide.
