Sean Tizzle has responded after Basketmouth
made it
clear he doesn’t like him. The ace comedian
called him
out for charging a ridiculous amount of money
for his
show in December 2014. Basket Mouth also
noted he
helped the singer with about 3 shows in that
very
month…He told HipTV ‘I called on Sean Tizzle
and he
was charging me a certain amount of money, I
didn’t
know if it was him or his management that
charged me, but I don’t care, I had to tell my
team
to blacklist his name on any of my shows’.I
called on
Olamide who’s even a more buzzing act, and he
said I
can pay him anything I feel like,

In an interview with AFP, President Buhari says
that if Boko Haram members return the Chibok
girls complete in number, he may decide to
grant Boko Haram prisoners amnesty
“We are trying to see whether we can
negotiate with the Boko Haram prisoners in
our custody for the release of the Chibok girls.
If the Boko Haram leadership eventually
agrees to turn over the Chibok girls to us, the
complete number, then we may decide to give
them (the prisoners) amnesty.”

President Muhammadu Buhari is back in the country following 3-day official visit to France .
He was received by received at the Nnamdi Azikwe International Airport, Abuja today, September
16, by Vice President Yemi Osinbajo and other top
government functionaries. While in France, the President held series of meetings with the French President, François Hollande , where
topics bothering on Boko Haram to economy were
discussed.
Consequently, Hollande has pledged to assist
Nigeria with
weapons and intelligence in the war against
Boko Haram.
He also noted that the French government would
invest 130
million Euro in the Nigerian economy.

Denrele was born in Hamburg, Germany to a
Yoruba father
and an Indian-Mauritius mother. He is the only
son and
has two sisters. He grew up in Germany and
came to
Nigeria when he was five where he attended St
Gregory’s
College, Ikoyi and the University of Lagos
Denrele is known for his unique fashion style
and
personality. He started his television career as
an actor at
eleven when he played a presenter/producer on
Kiddievision
101 on NTA Network. As an undergraduate at
the
University of Lagos he went into modelling, and
after
graduation, he joined Sound City as a TV
presenter.
Denrele studied English Education at the
University of
Lagos.

Today, the Senate will begin an inquest into alleged
mismanagement of funds appropriated to the power
sector
from the Olusegun Obasanjo civilian administration to
date.
In a statement by the Clerk of Senate ad hoc
Committee
on Power, Cletus Ojabo, yesterday, the power sector
probe
will be in the form of investigative hearing/interactive
session.
According to Ojabo, the investigation would centre on
funds appropriated for the power sector since 1999 and
the
unbundling of the Power Holding Company of Nigeria,
PHCN.
He said:
“ It is expected that all those who played key roles
in the power sector since 1999, including ministers
and heads of government departments and
parastatals, will appear before the panel.”
It will be recalled that Senate President, Bukola
Saraki,
had last month announced a 13-man ad hoc committee
to
carry out a holistic investigation into the management
of
funds appropriated to the power sector from the
Olusegun
Obasanjo civilian administration to date.
The committee, which has Senator Abubakar Kyari,
(APC
Borno North) as chairman, was given the responsibility
of
looking into irregularities in the unbundling of the Power
Holding Company of Nigeria, PHCN and to also probe
how
the Obasanjo, Umaru Yar‘Adua and Jonathan
administrations managed funds allocated to the sector.
The committee was charged with the task of looking into
the entire power value chain including generation,
transmission and distribution with a view to identifying
what the problems in the sector are.
Saraki, who noted at the inauguration of the committee
three weeks ago, that the task before the panel is
huge,
had however, frowned at the continued absence of
regular
supply of electricity despite the country’s huge
investments
in the sector.
Kyari, in his remarks during the inauguration, detailed
the
nature of the investigation his committee is saddled
with,saying, “ To have a close look at the entire power
value chain (generation, transmission and distribution)
calls for a review of our policies in order to obtain
optimum
performances across the board.
According to him, “the abysmal performance of the
generation segment is no longer news in view of the
current
deteriorating power supply which hovers around
4,600MW
for a population of over 170 million people, despite the
huge resources committed into it.

An offshore oil worker working with one of the oil
companies in Delta state died unexpectedly after
lodging
with two women at Beji’s court in Ugborikoko area of
Warri in Delta state on September 5th. According to
police
report, the man arrived the hotel in company of two
women
but was later found unresponsive in his room by one of
the
hotel cleaners. The two ladies were no where in sight.
He was immediately rushed to the hospital where
doctors
pronounced him dead on arrival. His body was deposited
at
the Warri Central Hospital. Efforts are ongoing to
trace
the ladies while the state CIID Asaba is investigating
the
matter.

President Muhammadu Buhari has approved the
appointment
of Mr. Rahman Adeola Ipaye as Deputy Chief of Staff
and
Mr. Laolu Akande as Senior Special Assistant (Media
&
Publicity) in the Presidency.

The two new appointees will work in the Office of
the
Vice President.
Mr. Ipaye is the immediate past Attorney General of
Lagos
State.
He studied at the University of Lagos where he
graduated
with B.A. (Hons) Degree (History) in 1984; LL.B. Hons
(1988) and LL.M. (1991). He is a Fellow of the Chartered
Institute of Taxation of Nigeria and the Chartered
Institute
of Arbitrators respectively.
Before his appointment as Attorney General and
Commissioner for Justice, Mr. Ipaye was employed as
a
lecturer in the Department of Commercial and Industrial
Law, University of Lagos (1992 to 2001); Special
Assistant
(Legal Matters) to the Governor of Lagos State (2001
to
2007); and Special Adviser (Taxation and Revenue) to
the
Governor of Lagos State and member of the State
Executive Council (2007 to 2011).
Mr. Laolu Akande graduated from the University of
Ibadan
in 1990 with an honours degree in History and a
Masters
degree in Communication & Language Arts in 1992.
He became a Staff Reporter of the Guardian
newspaper
in 1990 while still serving under the National Youth
Service
Corps. He left The Guardian to join the foundation
team
of The News Magazine in 1993, where he became
Senior
Writer. In 1997, he was appointed by Nigerian Tribune
as
editor of the Tribune on Saturday , a position he held
until he moved to the United States of America in
1998.
In the United States, he worked as a journalist with
the
Philadelphia Inquirer and New York Newsday. He also
served at the United Nations as a Press Officer and
later
as an Advocacy and Communication Consultant. He was
also the Bureau Chief of The Guardian in North
America
and the Executive Director of the Christian Association
of
Nigerian-Americans, CANAN.
Mr. Akande taught at the State University of New
York
at Stonybrook and also Suffolk County Community
College in Long Island, New York between 2002 and
2015.
Ipaye and Akande have been working with Vice
President
Osinbajo since the inception of the present
Administration.
