Artemether lumefantrine is safe in all trimesters according to recent studies. It’s not the reason for the contractions u felt, in fact malaria is most likely the culprit. It is generally prescribed at the teaching hospital here. I’ve used it thrice in this pregnancy and my scans are perfect. There’s no cause for alarm.

This is very relieving thanks mama.

Happy Sunday

Layormiii:
so sorry about the experience mama. Just to add it, please whenever we are given a drug to use please let's do well to Google it out and see if it's really safe for use during pregnancy especially for our trimester.

Had same experience in my first trimester, infact wasnt upto 10 weeks preggy that time. the yeye nurse prescribed some drugs for me to make my surgery spot heal fast, I asked her severally if it was safe for me and she said yes, that night after taking it I had so much cramps I thought I will see blood. Was rolling on the bed praying.

The next morning I sent the prescription to the doctor and she told me to stop them immediately as they are not safe for me. All the nurse could do was apologize and apologize and apologize. What if something bad has happened nah apology I go chop? Since then I don't fail to ask Google oooo and post it here to hear from other mamas.

Am sure your LO is fine.. you will hear good news ijn

Amen. Thank you. I'm a Ftm. Sure such a thing will definitely not happen again. I kinda trusted the doctor's prescription without checking it out cos he's an obstetrician and i was specifically referred there by another doctor.

I just remembered that I had placenta abruption in my 1st pregnancy sef *phew* and lost so much blood... Had to be transfused

They said it was 'proteinous' or something like that, meaning no cause for the abruption was found, so my new doctor really careful as I was very very high risk.
Praise God with me, the contractions stopped and I was discharged a week later to continue strict bed rest. I did everything on the bed. My doctor said if I got to 28 weeks, it would be a miracle.

To cut my very long story short, I was induced at 38 weeks due to high blood pressure

Today as I look at the most beautiful baby in the world and I mean this, not because am his mum, I am grateful to the most high for counting me worthy enough to be bring this jewel to the world, one he miraculously saved from the cold hands of death. I know I prayed for a testimony that would lead people to Christ, little did I know how steep the journey would be in order to share this testimony. I am most grateful to the King of Kings.

The MD confirmed that in all his years of practice he has never seen such a miracle. The hospital staff still call my son baby miracle. Only God could have done this. smiley

I'm really moved by your story God bless you and your baby and know he's all grown now. Your story restored my hope and belief.

Sure we're doing great. Please more August mama's you can quote me let's know ourselves better. April is here already kiss

Team August here.

I have been a little worried mamas. I had malaria at 11 weeks and the doctor prescribed armatem. After using for 3 days , I started feeling contractions, pull and bites. Visited UCH and was later prescribed Amodiaquine which I also used for 3 days and was fine. Was just surfing the Internet one day and read that Armatem (Artemether&Lumefantrine) combination shouldn't be taken in first trimester. I guess it explained the contractions and all however, I am perfectly fine now. But I worry for my baby just hope it hasn't affected his or her formation and growth somehow. I asked the doctor why prescribe it if it was contraindicated but he said at 11 weeks, the fetus had formed and wont have any effect. I'm booked for an anormaly scan next week and I'm kind of scared sha.

Good day House.

I'm 12 weeks pregnant and tested positive to malaria after bleeding once. Doctor recommended armatem and PCM. Upon completion, I started feeling a pull and twinge in my lower, abdomen(both left and right) sometimes it moves to genital and I feel it at my narvel too but one I sleep on my left side I feel contractions pls what does this mean?

Although the bleeding was once and since I started the malaria drugs it stopped. Dont know why I feel the twinge, pain and contractions though

Did you bid with your own rate rather than the bank rate?

Bank rate

I did 364 days wit stanbic last week and it was successful. Maybe the agent you talked to in the Bank lied to you.

Let me shock you, it's likely the customer care person didn't key in your form into their system. So, to save face, they'd lie that their bid wasn't successful.

Bankers do this all the bank.

For instance, sometimes, when you want to make remita payment, a lazy banker can easily tell you there's no network. Whereas the real issue is that they don't want to stress themselves logging into remita platform.

I understand you well but what actually baffles me about the whole thing is that I decided to go to their head office today to confirm. The woman even called Lagos in my presence and the guy also said it failed. I don't understand at all. The main branch is very far from where I bidded o!

Stanbic last primary auction was successful. Maybe you visited a branch that doesn't know anything about tbills

I did for 364 days and I just confirmed from their main branch again today that it wasn't successful both the previous one and this week. Anyway, I decided to go for secondary market.

Make sure you bid early. I have never had any failed bid with Stanbic.

The bid was very early and Did you bid with stanbic last week? Was told it failed. If not then it means I have to visit another branch
