Wow! This ex-militant hit the nail on the head there. He knew exactly what was going on. Unfortunately, he was probably not taken seriously then. Almost all Nigerians with huge sudden wealth are beneficiaries of corruption. |
Business › Re: Allen Onyema Wanted In Canada For Alleged Multi-Million Dollar Fraud In U.S. by executive12: 10:55am On Nov 24, 2019 |
To save his airline business, he should resign from his position as the company's CEO, travel to the US and turn himself in to the authorities for trial. If he does this, he should get bail while the trial goes on. Even if he is convicted, Air Peace will survive. But if he waits to be extradited, then no bail until end of trial. And Air Peace will not be able to do business in the US, Canada and probably West Europe. He should get himself a good Jewish Attorney. He may come out of this. I remember way back, when the business man IKB (from Awka Etiti) was arrested for money laundering in Boston because they found $500,000 cash on him. I believe he was eventually acquitted. The nature of our society causes us to transact most of our businesses in cash. This is frowned upon by the developed world. It gets our business men and women in trouble with the Western legal system. In the US, if you pay for a transaction with as little as $500, you are automatically suspected of being a criminal. |
Business › Re: Allen Onyema Indicted For Bank Fraud And Money Laundering In America by executive12: 8:26am On Nov 23, 2019 |
This man is in deep shit. I have come to the conclusion that the vast majority of wealthy Nigerians acquire their wealth through mostly criminal activities. Nigeria is a huge criminal enterprise where criminals run the show. You hardly make it big in Nigeria by starting from scratch and working hard. There is usually a criminal angle: Fronting for a well connected politician, inflation of government contract, outright embezzlement of public funds, dealing on hard drugs, internet fraud (yahoo yahoo). I guess our only viable airline, Airpeace is in jeopardy. Very unfortunate. When the US gets on your case, that's it for you. |

paix: The APC's initial intention was to cause confusion in the country if PDP had won the 2015 general election, but (un)fortunately God used GEJ to give them the power and they had it on a gold platter. That's why they're all confused. No focus, no direction, no human feeling in their administration. Everybody is crying. God have on innocent Nigerians. The same "innocent Nigerians" that voted the incompetent Buhari for second term? Nigerians are actually getting the leadership they deserve. If you do a poll on Nairaland, don't be surprised that majority will support the bigot. Our leaders are mirror images of us. |

Now he charging N50 on POS transaction.
Where is the Buhari directive in it? Stop making a fool of yourself, will you? |
Business › Re: Merchants Dump POS, Inactive Terminals Hit 131,201 by executive12: 7:53am On Nov 23, 2019 |
Ijaya123: That is falsehood and fake news else you provide the directive from Buhari to that effect?
Assuming that to be true, Godwin Emeifele must be daft to comply to it. So if there is a directive from Buhari, you expect it to be made public Are you not aware that the bigot does not follow the Nigerian laws? I guess you will also ask for proof that it is on Buhari's orders that some prominent Nigerians are still being detained despite getting bail from the courts. |

How I wish there Is world body that can invade country and kick the president out if the president is making lives unbearable for people. The people can always remove their leaders if they want. Nigerians had the opportunity to remove the incompetent bigot Buhari in 2019 but failed to do so. People get the leadership they deserve. |

LewsTherin: Seeing as this thread has been well derailed by those bashing men and those bashing those bashing men, I'll modify my post.
Your husband has just lost the most important thing to any man - self worth. He is depressed, he is frustrated, he is lost. He may come out of it tomorrow, he may never recover. You can take the easy way out like many so-called feminists will say and kick his behind to the curb...
...or you can honour your vows of "for better or worse till death do us part" (I am assuming you said those words).
If you choose this route, my advice (which may not work by the way) is 1. Pray for him. Constantly. That he find his way back. 2. Keep the house going to the best of your ability. It is difficult, I know. But it is possible. 3.Talk to him like there is nothing different. Ask his opinion on anything and everything. Leas him into discussions that will make him say "if it was me, I will do such and such" or "the best option would have been to do this and that". Something that will help him begin to think again, to plan again. It may help him out of his hole. 4. Keep trying to get his mother/father, closest friend, pastor he trusts to talk to him. But do not under any circumstances involve any other people that it can be said "you went to spread my news round the world". And very definitely no one from your family.
I actually have first hand experience of this so I have an idea how he feels. God help you. Excellent advice. |

I hope you know that oyibo mentality also means that the husband and wife see themselves as partners, sharing financial responsibilities in the home; not the Nigerian model of the man carrying everything on his head. |

genq: Here we go again! Another topic posted for the sole purpose of inviting frustrated NL femcels to come bash your husband.
Just a quick question based off the highlighted statement below. Why is it that a man can feed, house and even clothe a woman and the children all of his life but you will never hear him announce this to the hearing of others - but let a woman pay the bills for just one out of thirty years, the whole world must know and we won't hear the last of it! It's typical of Nigerian women, probably because of the Nigerian culture that heaps all the family responsibilities on the man. |
