That invitation is a worthless piece of paper. Trust me the USA embassy in Nigeria is not interested in seeing it. Presenting it makes it more certain to have your visa application denied

Life won't be easy for you here as an illegal immigrant. There is likely sever shortage of street jobs that could pay you cash in hand without employment permit. Working with someone's identity is a criminality that will hurt ur long term legal residency here in the future. You cant access basic services here without PPSN number. If you have enough reasons or lies packaged to seek for Asylum, that could be your shortest way to living here. Or if you can go the marriage route

It is possible to get your CSEP immediately after your stamp 2 study visa. I would assume that you have several years of work experience which should help you get a good job before you graduate and while negotiating your offer, ask your prospective employer to apply for a CSEP on your behalf. That will shorten the time for a Stamp 4 to just under 2 years. Once you have your Stamp 4, you are good to go

Well the law for Stamp 4 support letter says 20 months of continuous employment, so technically its less than 2 years, if she gets a stamp 1 based on Critical Skills Employment Permit immediately after graduation from school

Be advised that you require at least 3 years Post study continuous residence in Ireland to get permanent residency which is stamp 4 and above. That is assuming after your study, you spent 1 year on stamp 1G and was able to get an employment under critical skills employment permit, then after 2 years on critical skills employment permit, you can apply for stamp 4. If you are so lucky, you may get critical skills employment immediately after graduation from school

Decision letter is the beginning of nursing registration process. A lot of factors will determine your sister's fate and location where she will end up in Ireland.
For your sister to become a fully registered nurse with NMBI and get her Pin she will either do a clinical adaptation in an approved hospital or take the RCSI examination. Now listen attentively,
Both processes are cost intensive and most times nursing agencies gets people with decision letters to be interviewed and offered provisional job offer upon successful completion of clinical adaptation or the RCSI exams(under the sponsorship of the employer hospital)

Your sister if signed off after clinical adaptation will get her nursing Pin and resume work with the employer by converting her AWS(Atypical Work Scheme) visa to GEP or CSEP. Then if she goes the RCSI route, she will apply for exam visa to come to ireland and do the RCSI exams and if she passes, she will return to Nigeria and the employer who sponsored her will apply for her GEP or CSEP with which she will apply for employment visa to relocate and start working in Ireland. Most agencies and hospitals offering these sponsorships are based in Dublin and environment

From facts and evidence available to me, it's better your sister take the option of RCSI exams under employer sponsorship. E get why. People who went through clinical adaptation have sour stories to tell about it.

Please I need help from those resident in Republic of Ireland. I got a job in a job there but I am being asked to pick 5 locations of my choice in ascending order. I don't want Dublin because my findings says it's expensive.

If you don't mind; I need a suggestions on locations with affordable rent, good public transport system with low waiting times at the bus stops/stations and access to African stores.


I have attached the Locations. Some of the locations in case the attached are not care is Kildare, Dundalk, Portas, Portlaise, Kerry, Gorey Co Wexford, Limerick, Sligo, South Tipperary, Nevan, Dublin 24, 14, 11, 9 , 7, 2 Athlone, Longford.

Dublin and Cork at the big cities with all the amenities you mentioned, but trust me 60% or more of your income becomes your rent. If you are looking for cheaper accommodation consider places that are not close to Dublin or Cork. All around Ireland is pretty cool but trust me Dublin and Cork is the heart of the country. I am a truck driver and I have been opportuned to drive to all the counties in Ireland except Donegal and Kerry.

Kildare, Wicklow, Meath, Louth and Wexford are all close to Dublin but houses aren't cheap here as well. Going further down to Cavan, Carlow, Offaly, Longford, Roscommon, kilkenny, Waterford, Westmeath and Tipperary, you can find affordable accommodation as well but compared to Dublin, they are small towns

There is no process. Just book your flight and go home. Make sure u start a renewal process before you travel and have concrete plans to get the passport in Nigeria before returning

The closer you are to Dublin or Cork the better for you. Unless you plan to school or play Rugby or GAA, i wouldn't know why you went to Kerry as a newbie.

I used Airport Driving School in Jamestown Business Park, Finglas, Dublin 11. You can also check ISM(Irish School of Motoring) located in the same place as well

Omo you try oh! Kudos to you. For those who want to drive here and you have a drivers license from home, get a letter of entitlement from home from FRSC. It will reduce the number of tests required from 12 to 6 and your period as a learner from 6 months to 3 months.

It exempts you entirely from the 6 months wait. You can do ur practical driving test immediately after the driving lessons and driving lessons will be reduced to 6 modules. Its called Reduced EDT(Essential Driver Training).
Apart from the 6 months wait exemption, I would advise everyone to complete the 12 modules lesson as it will boost ur confidence and knowledge to pass the practical driving test. I passed all my driving tests in one sitting, no retest at all

That's alot of money, it's what irish citizen will pay for a masters, the truck licence is hard, they made it that way cos of safety concerns, can't believe you even took car.

I did oooh. It was strenuous, but it in the end it all made me a better driver. I drove for 16 years in Nigeria, but i had to learn a whole lot about driving here. Safety is a non negotiable concern in the EU

Don't buy anything anywhere, you just need the theory tester, do it as often as you can its super flexible, and free of charge, I'm going after our educational system in Nigeria in future, how can you set questions, give exams and fail to give students a corrected mistakes so they can do better in future.

This theory tester will after every mock show you all your mistakes with detailed explanation. With this I got the perfect score only twice with the mock. And got 30/30 in real test. It's simple.


Thanks to the pandemic, after my masters exam was made online, I knew deep down it will only be a matter of time before they made the theory test remote, I was able to take it in the comfort of my room, sweeet!!!

Well said Chiggs. The driving licence is something else. I passed through a lot to get the Category CE Articulated truck licence from scratch to finish. Spent over €6000 and time that I cannot quantify. The worst is going through 4 practical driving tests(B for Car, C for Rigid truck, CE for Articulated truck and Walkaround test for CPC)

In which Nigeria do you see speed limits conspicuously displayed? Same Nigeria where people don't know what a Blue Road sign means? I specifically mentioned NLNG because they have driving staff in Lagos who MUST drive no faster than 40km/h irrespective of the mad driving in Lagos. And correct me if I'm wrong, I'm not sure I have seen a speed limit sign on Lekki-Epe or 3rd Mainland. Person wey ask no dey loss

In split seconds while u are reversing and looking on ur left mirror, something could appear on ur right side and already in ur blinds pot in that split second. Your mirror won't see it, but a little look over ur shoulder shows u that.

Secondly it could be a moving car scenario, so u could be on the road driving and not necessarily starting off from a rest position

I actually used to think i was a great driver having drove for 17 years in Nigeria and travelled to almost everywhere in Nigeria without an incident or accident. Not until I relocated and passed through the rigorous process of being an Articulated truck driver, i began to see driving differently and i understood what safe driving is.
I got to know the difference between moving a vehicle from one point to another and safely driving a vehicle. As a matter of facts I get scared to drive whenever am back home and most people I see are just vehicle movers. Only a handful of drivers out there.
Our government needs to actually revisit the road safety act and driving licencing procedure. Also if possible go a long way to see if they can retrain and recertify a lot of drivers already with licence. It's gonna be cost intensive and albeit proper marking of the roads and proper road signs too.

The benefits of the above will make Nigerian truck and bus driving licence holders be recognised for direct licence exchange with some countries and help a lot of people get to greener pastures as there is serious shortage of truck and bus drivers in the developed countries

By the way, so you rely on the cam more than the mirrors.

Relying on camera and mirrors during reversing is good, but for cars you are expected to watch over both shoulders all through the process of reversing while joggling views between the driving mirrors. You are expected to stop the reverse maneuver if any person, car or cyclist comes in view and wait for them to pass before you proceed . For trucks you are allowed to use side mirrors and cameras and if possible look out of ur window or jump down from the truck if need be
