Let me say what I know about choosing a service provider.
If you can't read my long writeups, Go for lycamobile.
I don't work for them at all.

You can pick up the Sim for free at some of the shops owned by foreigner, like the Asian and African food shops, phone and repair shops, and groceries...
I visited a phone shop as I was rushing to get the bus and the guy told me I have to pay €5, I japa. It's something I picked for free before the lockdown.

Another way is to go to the official lycamobile website and order it, it might arrive after 5. You can also order it for free. I paid €10 for it once, it never came till I packed out of the house, then I applied for a free one and it came after 7days.

When I first came here as a JJC, me and my guy walked into Vodafone store and paid €20, for 20gig and unlimited Sim and SMS. After the first month, I after I got my room, I noticed that I only used 1gig of data, called very few number and I had to japa from that plan.
I went to lycamobile. There's wifi in school, bus, at home and anywhere you can think of.

Then I moved to a house with a shady landlord, an Irish landlord wouldn't be that shady. This house had Internet issues, the bunch of Nigerians there didn't even open up about the Internet problem. Till after I paid, moved in and asked for the wifi password, they roared in laughter.
Ladies and gentlemen, Nigerians will always be Nigerians.
I just walked to the shared room and ordered an Eire Sim. Eir is irish Sim. Very fast and all. I was happy to transfer my number to Eir and pay €20 for unlimited, after two weeks and Eir sent me a message and quoted a policy, it's called fair data usage, this guy will run down our company the way he's using our data, I consumed €100gig in two weeks. The didn't charge me extra or cut me off, they simply reduced the speed from 4G to 2G.

The 2G is good, if you don't subscribe, your whatsapp messages will still be going actually, so if you have a second phone and want to get messages, you can put a free Eir Sim it and that's how my BlackBerry Passport refused to be useless outside the house.

Then I moved back to Lycamobile later after I left that house of Nigerians. Before then, I had to shake the atmosphere of the house and make it too hot for my landlord, a new router came just after I paid for my first single room. I posted the pictures here, with the red arm chair,

I was using Eir while I wasn't working and was collecting Covid money, I was practically at home all the time. Just that I didn't subscribe to the network, I could get whatsapp messages when I left the house. Then I got this care job and it needed me to call my colleagues at work and clock in with the work app as I did my thing, then I went back to Lycamobile. With €10, I get 25gig, unlimited call and SMS. It's been great, I can take some time off and enjoy instagram vids with peace of mind and I sometimes get close to 15gig outside the house.

If you try to get a phone through this network guys, it's best to pay off, avoid those plans that make you pay monthly, it's a rip-off, saving your precious BTA is critical, that's why I'm typing all this,

Okay that's nice. I needed to make a call at the airport when arrived, so I was forced to buy Vodafone for €25 at the airport with 20gb, 100 minutes local call and all what not. But I got a Tesco sim also. We have Eir wireless internet access at home

For those that travelled via Abuja, I heard you will be required to produce your Covid test result before entering the airport regardless of the airline. Are there specified testing centers whose results are accepted or only government hospitals? Is there anyone who has travelled via Abuja Or about to via Abuja?

It is not true. Nigerian Government or federal airports authorities does not have any effect on ur Covid-19 test requirements when you are an outbound passenger. You are only bound by the Covid-19 guidelines of the airline you are using and the transit /destination country.

I traveled via Abuja with Turkish Airlines, I didn't do any Covid-19 test and nobody whosoever asked me about it from entering the airport terminal building till boarding the aircraft

Wait till December.. @ Chiggsglover, I was somewhere around that building earlier today on Dame Street.. I was heading to Rathfarnham so I picked bus 15b infront of that building gaan gaan. Turkish Airlines allowed you 2x23kg as check in luggage, then 8kg max as hand luggage.

You don't need a Covid-19 test to fly with Turkish Airlines from Nigeria to Dublin

You might want to expedite ur travel arrangements as Ireland will enter a Level 3 lockdown today. The NPHET suggested a Level 5 lockdown (which is very extreme), but government refused and insisted on Level 3. The NPHET has said the level 3 will not yield any good results, and are still pressing for level 5. The government may give in if the rate of infection is increasing.

So if you have received your visa, please be very quick to arrive here before they impose a level 5 lockdown and Visas may possibly expire before it is lifted.

Yes my work permit is critical skills and I think the embassy in Abuja processing study visas only at the moment. That is what is stated on the website here (https://www.dfa.ie/irish-embassy/nigeria/our-services/visas/weeklydecisionreports).

I think all employment visas are processed in Dublin.

My wife's employment visa was processed in Abuja and it was for 6 weeks wait time

Please has anybody who applied on the 26th of August received an approval yet? My application for employment visa and join family was forwarded on the 31st of August to the embassy of Abuja but I did biometrics and final submission of the 26th.

Relax and give them 8 weeks minimum. Join family takes a little time

Good afternoon everyone on this thread.

I guess u all know my story here. Well it all ended in praises after 14 months of visa application. We applied for Employment and Join family visas since July xxth, 2019. Visa was approved by the 2nd week of March 2020,but the Abuja embassy made a turn around and said they were investigating a TZ visa, entry and exit stamps on my passport and they don't know how long it will take. Thankfully the verification was successful after a very long time and we received the visas after 14 months of visa application.

There were frustrations and lessons learnt but I will summarize all in few sentences.

1. Thou shalt never show desperation to Irish Embassy.

2. Thou shalt not present any questionable or unverifiable documents for your visa application

3. Thou shalt not lie in any manner in ur application or in the build up to it

4. Thou shalt wear patience as a cloth and have faith as a virtue.

5. Thou shalt go to ur God in prayers. (Against the village people, cos truly they are at work)

6. Please and please if you are going to come with ur family, and have an adopted child, please exclude the child in the application or try to register the adoption with the adoption authority of Ireland before ur visa application, else you are in for a long thing. This made the Irish embassy Abuja request a DNA test from my family and myself. And it's not just a regular DNA test, it's at a designated laboratory by the embassy and in our case a lab in the UK and sample collection took place at IOM Lagos with an embassy representative present.

7. Never accept any visa or stamps to be placed on ur passport by proxy whether it is to disvirgin the passport or not, no matter how much u trust the person. It will ruin your application and a visa ban will follow.

8. Because Ireland pays child support for children and free education for every child, they are very critical when it comes to children and applications with children.

Thanks be to God that it all ended in praise for us. We have arrived Ireland safely and look forward to our next adventure of life. The weather is very cold here.

Worried some students may end up not getting their visa weeks after resumption. There may be need to brilliantly tweet an inquiry to Irish embassy Abuja to kindly expedite actions for the sake of Nigerian students. Not a bad idea I guess.

Yes Dublin posts decisions on Tuesdays and Abuja posts decisions on Monday.

If it's month I prefer collecting my school fees, moving to UK.

Both are the same engine capacity but the build varies ....I love big SUV and ML fits into that picture but in terms of manouverbility I give it to to the other

But trust me they are same engine capacity 3.5 and possible fuel economy but the other is smaller

You are wrong. The GLE350 (2016 till date) and ML350(2012 to 2015) is almost the same car in size and shape.

Ladipo boys converts the 2012-2015 ML350 to GLE350 by changing headlights and taillights, complete front and rear bumper assembly, and other smaller accessories and you can't tell the difference between the two vehicles from the exterior but men wey Sabi can spot the ML350 conversion by a peep on the center console of the dashboard
