Canadian rapper and singer, Tory Lanez could face a felony assault charge after an attack on Megan Thee Stallion.

Although the Canadian had not been ruled as a suspect, but the Police had been urged to further investigate.

According to TMZ, the Los Angeles D.A.'s office is reviewing the possibility of a felony assault for his involvement.

Megan had suffered a gunshot wound on the night the Canadian musician was arrested for weapons possession.

According to her, the rappers said;

"On Sunday morning, I suffered gunshot wounds, as a result of a crime that was committed against me and done with the intention to physically harm me.

"I was never arrested, the police officers drove me to the hospital where I underwent surgery to remove the bullets."

After the incident, the rapper came out to speak on women protection and their lack of safety;

"Black women are so unprotected and we hold so many things in to protect the feelings of others w/o  considering our own."

As regards her shooting, 50 Cent had made a meme with her head in the 1991 movie Boyz N The Hood as Ricky who got shot running away.

But after finding how serious it felt, the New York rapper offered an apology to Megan Thee Stallion;

"Damn, I didn't think this shit was real.

"It sounded crazy @thestallion I'm glad you're feeling better and I hope you can accept my apology.

"I posted a meme that was floating around. I wouldn't have done that if I knew you were really hurt."

As far as the shooting incident had gone, a petition addressed to the Department of Homeland Security had been raised to deport the Canadian.

The Nollywood industry is definitely the biggest movie industry in Africa and one of the biggest around the world.
Nigerian movies have gone on to produce some of the best actors Africa will be known for. Many have acted and gone to direct and produce their own piece that have caught the eye of the world.

So certainly in the entertainment industry, we are the giants of Africa but there are now a few loop holes.
I've done a lot of study and I have asked questions regarding the Nigerian movie industry and I came up with a few facts.

In this country, there are diverse people and choices regarding movies in general, There are;

Those who'd watch only a foreign movie
Those who watch foreign movies and watch Nigerian movies just to kill time
Those who watch Nigerian movies

Among these three sets of movie watchers, we can still narrow it down a little more;

Foreign movie viewers have close to 5 sets: Hollywood, Bollywood, Telemundo, Televista etc.
Those who watch Nigerian movies just to kill time pay little or no attention.
Those who just watch Nigerian movies out of love.

Nigeria has great movie and Film broadcasters and platforms e.g Iroko TV, WAP TV etc but what is going on?

With what I've found while doing that study, we can deduce that the problems are;

Lack Of Originality:

Many of our movies look way too fictional than The Avengers or the Justice League.

It simply means that if whatever happens in the movie is brought into the natural world, it doesn't make any sense.

Trying Too Hard:

Action movies are very enticing but when you try what you aren't good at when you aren't ready, you end up producing utter garbage e.g Shina Rambo and many more.

Poor Casting:

There are a lot of talented actors in Nigeria and yet the settle for the worst? Well that's a bust.

This is the reason why you have an understudy who'd fill in for a bad cast but no not in Nigeria.

Our Child Casts Aren't Ready:

Believe it or not, most of our child characters are not really prepared by producers before they are handed a role.

I know they are kids but come on man!

Poor Screenwriters:

How do you feel watching a movie where you can tell the end immediately. I am supposed to predict the end, not tell it.

Due to poor screenwriting, there are many unnecessary scenes that end up messing the storyline.


I am not here to troll the Nigerian movie industry but to state the slacks that everyone with a great love for movies will notice.

If we could correct even just one of these things, the industry will see some change even if it's not a big one.

Nicki Minaj's husband, Kenneth Petty has requested that the court grants him permission to witness the birth of his first child.

The Trinidad and Tobago born rapper ended speculations of her pregnancy when she posted a picture showing her baby bump.

According to XXL Magazine, Petty filed a document, pleading that the court adjust his conditions to allow him be present for his child's birth.

But, he was told that he may be prohibited from visiting the birth if it falls in his curfew hours.

American rapper, 50 Cent has apologized to female rapper Megan Thee Stallion after a meme regarding her shooting.

It was reported that Megan Thee Stallion had suffered a gunshot wound on the night of rapper Tory Lanez arrest.

The Canadian was arrested for having a concealed weapon and now is facing a petition to be deported after shooting the BET award winning rapper.

50 Cent had posted a meme using Megan's head in the 1991 movie Boyz N The Hood as the character Ricky who got shot running away.

He went on to respond to the comments she made earlier about losing both of her parents and not getting over it;

"Imagine being 25 and you don't have both of your parents, my mama was my best friend and I'm still not over that.

"So, you try to kinda feel your space with a bunch of people that you think to make you happy. Like, it's a lot."

The New York born rapper apologized stating that he didn't think it was real and never intended to hurt her.

Megan had also went on to social media to address the people making fun of the shooting.

In his apology, he said;

"Damn, I didn't think this shit was real.

"It sounded crazy @theestallion i'm glad you're feeling better and I hope you can accept my apology.

"I posted a meme that was floating around. I wouldn't have done that if I knew you was really hurt sorry."

Deport Tory Lanez is the petition going on right now following the rappers shooting incident involving Megan Thee Stallion.

The Canadian rapper was arrested earlier in the month for possession of concealed weapon, in the process Megan took a bullet wound.

And right now, a lot of people aren't really feeling the Canadian after that incident.

According to change.org, a petition was filed for his deportation two weeks ago but gained more attention on the internet as at July 27, 2020.

The attention gained was due to the fact that Megan Thee Stallion had taken to Instagram to address the incident.

The campaign initially required 15,000 signatures but now it is already at 25,000.

"Deport Tory Lanez (Daystar Peterson) back to Canada and ban him from coming to America FOREVER.

"This little 5'3 man with a big ego has contributed nothing to the American Economy, and promotes violence and violence against women.

"Furthermore, he should be banned from the United States FOREVER, for intentionally trying to harm Megan Thee Stallion.

"SEND HIM BACK TO CANADA ASAP!." - the statement read.

The petition is addressed to the Department of Homeland Security.
