The Croods 2: A New Age has come up with its box office at $14.2 million in its 5-day holiday debut and $9.7 million over the weekend.

The film launched overseas in seven markets to $20.8 million with China been the highest at $19.2 million.

This is the lowest Thanksgiving chart-topper in decades but Universal and Dreamworks can still see the good side.

The Croods 2 is the first major film opening after Tenet and still managed to come up ahead making it the top debut since the pandemic.

It wasn't really expected for the animated film to actually do this well following the rising Covid-19 cases in the country.

But, never say never.

The animated film played in 2,211 theatres after hundreds of theatres closed due to the recent cases of Covid-19 cases.

Cinemas still open have had to deal with a fewer number in seating capacity.

In a statement, Universal's Distribution Chief, Jim Orr said;

"This shows that even with a difficult theatrical landscape, people want to come out and get together. The film is incredibly charming."

Nigerian rapper, Ladipoe has revealed he has tested positive for the coronavirus.

The rapper made this known on his Instagram stories, saying that he has been in isolation since receiving the results.

In his post, he said;

"I recently received the results of my COVID-19 test and it was positive.  I have been in isolation for about 10 days now.

"Due to the state of affairs in the country, this Monday was the earliest I could get tested. My symptoms have been mild and I'm getting better every day.

"Please continue to take the necessary safety precautions when you're out to protect yourself and your loved ones.

"Not everyone has mild symptoms. This is definitely something to be taken seriously."

Another person who has revealed contracting the virus is Toke Makinwa who says she is in a recovery state.

Billionaire rapper, Jay Z is releasing his own cannabis line, Monogram, as his marijuana industry seems to be growing.

On Friday the 23rd of October 2020, HOV announced his weed brand, which will be in partnership with Caliva.

Caliva is a vertically integrated Cannabis company in California he joined last year as the chief brand strategist.

Details on the strain to be offered and when the products will be available have not been revealed.

An official website and a Twitter page have been launched to keep interested folks up-to-date for further information.

In a statement regarding Monogram, Caliva as a company said;

"With its careful strain selection, meticulous cultivation practices, and uncompromising quality, Monogram seems to redefine what cannabis means to consumers today.

"In an effort to provide a more tailored customer experience, the brand will also launch through a best in class e-commerce platform dedicated exclusively to its singular product line."

On Monogram's official website, the homepage reads;

The much-awaited Nollywood sci-fi, Ratnik is set for its theatrical release after getting premier in 2019 during the Lagos Comic Convention.

The movie was originally slated to be released in November 2019 but was then pushed to April of 2020.

But the world was hit with the coronavirus outbreak leading to the closure of theatres around the country.

After the pause caused by the Covid-19 pandemic, the movie is now set to be released on the 6th of November 2020.

The movie follows a soldier in a futuristic time set in an African town during the early times of World War III.

The soldier returns from the war front only to find out her home has descended into chaos.

It stars Osas Ighodaro, Bolanle Ninalowo, Adunni Ade, Karibi Fubara, Meg Otanwa, and a host of other fantastic actors.
