Sports / Re: Who Is Worthy Of Super Eagles, Taiwo Or Babayaro by exu(m): 2:19pm On Dec 19, 2006
How can u begin to compare Babayaro who's been doing it from 1996 till date to Utaka that joined the Eagles in 2002 and Peter who joined in 2004?

If this is your argument then I guess we should dig up Yekini, Amokachi, Siasia, Finidi George and the rest.

I mean they've all been doing it since the 80s, right?

You don't pick your best team on reputation.

Football is about form and confidence.

You build confidence, you build form.
Sports / Re: Who Is Worthy Of Super Eagles, Taiwo Or Babayaro by exu(m): 2:07pm On Dec 19, 2006
The fact is Babayaro is the most consistent Nigerian player in the world.

Had you mentioned someone like John Utaka, or even Odemwingie, you'd have more of a case.

Babayaro is far from the most consistent Nigeria player in the world.

You mentioned that he hasn't deteriorated but Babayaro stopped developing as a footballer five years ago. Good players don't peak before their late 20s.

That's not to say that he's a bad player, just that Taiwo is more focused and as the younger player should be given his chance.

Also, I've met the guy (Babayaro) and as pleasant as he is he really doesn't strike me as professional.

Too much time spent in the clubs, not enough time resting.

Here's a dictionary definition of faith.

2. belief that is not based on proof
Religion / Re: Nigerian Churches And Noise Pollution by exu(m): 12:48pm On Dec 19, 2006
And about me quoting a crackhead. At least he had the brains to figure out that you do unto others as you want others to do unto you. In other words, if you don't want trouble, then don't go asking/giving other people trouble.

Last I heard he was trying to car-jack someone.

But never mind eh?

p.s.
Loving the use of obscenities. Shows a degree of intelligence I didn't realise that you had.

p.p.s.
To get back on point:

Playing music so loud that it disturbs the neighbours is ignorant regardless of religion.

Being annoyingly loud whilst professing to follow the teachings of a man who supposedly told his followers to respect their neighbour is doubly ignorant.
Religion / Re: Nigerian Churches And Noise Pollution by exu(m): 10:32pm On Dec 18, 2006
Like my man DMX once said, "if you don't want nothing, then don't start nothing".

Quoting a crackhead is good times.

Good times indeed.

I didn't say that all Christians were ignorant (that's not to say that there isn't a case for such an argument).
What I did imply was that Christians who worship loudly without regard for their neighbours were ignorant.

The fact of the matter is I said something that hit close to home.

My point was valid and true.

Rather than critique what I said she choose to be lazy (as are you by venturing way off topic, fortunately for you I'm bored).

I wasn't whining, I simply pointed out that she had broken the rules.

Deal with the topic raised or let it go.
Religion / Re: Nigerian Churches And Noise Pollution by exu(m): 10:05pm On Dec 18, 2006
@exu:

i beg to differ. you were being rude.

in other words, you were calling me an ignorant person (alongside other Christians). Now when someone disses you, you start bitching about how the heat's on you.

I made a point. I expressed my opinion.

She 'yawned'.

That's lazy and rude.
Sports / Re: Who Is Worthy Of Super Eagles, Taiwo Or Babayaro by exu(m): 9:24pm On Dec 18, 2006
Babayaro has no business playing international football.

Taiwo on the other hand is a much respected left-back.

This is a no-brainer.

Faith is the evidence of things hoped for, the substance of things not even seen.

So if I spend my days dreaming about retiring to a land of giant talking rabbits, then that will be my fate.

Sweet.
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 8:41pm On Dec 18, 2006
Congrats on your newfound faith!!!

Faith is believing something that you know isn't true.
Sports / Re: Obafemi Martins: Worst Striker In Premiership? by exu(m): 8:32pm On Dec 18, 2006
I apologise for the insult lord.

It was totally uncalled for.

However, you mention that Liverpool have scored 11 goals in 3 games. That's the team, not the strikers.

Also my point wasn't how many they scored but what percentage of chances they had manage to convert. Liverpool is far better team than Newcastle.

How many goals has Dirk Kuyt managed to score, in those three games?

Better yet, how many games has he managed all season?

Was his transfer fee not comparable to Martins'?

p.s.
All the guys that I listed, bar Andy Johnson, have had overwhelmingly poor seasons. Andy Johnson at least started well before his season fizzled out prematurely. The same cannot be said for the rest.

A gay wedding.

Next.
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 5:31pm On Dec 18, 2006
The writers I was talking about didn't fabricate evidence to prove his non-existence.

They simply stated that the evidence presented was false.

There's a big difference.

One is misleading and dishonest, the other isn't.
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 4:08pm On Dec 18, 2006
and neither should you therefore believe all those organisations who fabricate evidence to justify his non existence 2,000 years ago!

That you go and read their jargons from.

Which organisations have been fabricating evidence to justify his 'non existence'?

Also, how would one fabricate evidence in order to make it look as though someone didn't exist?
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 3:22pm On Dec 18, 2006
How come the same Muhammed spoke so glowingly of Jesus if he did not exist?  Was he also deceived by the 'angel Jubril'?  But you believed what he said about Jesus, even at least 570 years after Jesus but couldn't believe accounts of eyewitnesses and people that lived less than 10 years after!

Don't make the mistake of assuming that because I acknowledge Muhammed existed that I follow his 'teachings'?

I don't believe in angels.

I don't believe in prophets.

And I don't believe that an organisation that needed to fabricate evidence to justify it's existence 2,000 years ago will now, all of a sudden, present credible historical evidence.
Sports / Re: Obafemi Martins: Worst Striker In Premiership? by exu(m): 3:16pm On Dec 18, 2006
Sensationalism at it's worst.

Talk about looking for some attention.

Obafemi Martins the worst striker in the Premiership?

Hardly. Look at the Liverpool strikers and their chances to goals ratio.

Those, my friends, are substandard players.

Look at Shevchenko.

Look at Samaras.

Look at James Beattie

Andrew Johnson.

Look at the Watford frontline.

Whoever started this thread desperately needs to invest in a television.

And a primary school education for that matter.
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 2:53pm On Dec 18, 2006
What other witnesses?

I've been looking at all the 'evidence' regarding Jesus for most of my life and am yet to find anything conclusive.

I imagine the church has had the same problem, over 2,000 years. Hence a reliance on faith that is more pronounced than (for arguments sake) Islam where the existence of Muhammad isn't in doubt.
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 2:26pm On Dec 18, 2006
@Analytical

I found this in relation to your Josephus quote.

However, John Dominic Crossan and K. H. Rengstorff have noted that the passage has many internal indicators that seem to be inconsistent with the rest of Josephus' writing and with what is known about Josephus, leading them to think that part or all of the passage may have been an interpolation. Michael L. White argued: "The parallel sections of Josephus's Jewish War make no mention of Jesus, and Christian writers as late as the third century CE who made extensive use of Josephus's Antiquities show no awareness of it. Had it been there, they would have gladly used it for proof of Christian claims.
Religion / Re: Is Jesus God? by exu(m): 12:45pm On Dec 18, 2006
I guess Forrest Gump must have existed too.

I mean, all the events surrounding his 'life' actually took place.

As to your use of Josephus as validation that Jesus existed. Here you have a Jew claiming the Jesus was the 'Christ'.
This is a Jew who never converted to Christianity.

The Josephus quote that you 'found' is one that has been proven to be highly dubious. This is a guy who would write endlessly about the most trivial matters but yet could only find time to write a few lines about the supposed saviour of the world.

A number of scholars have suggested that Josephus' description of Jesus is an example of the early Church's fondness for forgery. Maybe that's something you'd like to look into.

As for your claim that the gospels are proof of Jesus' existence, they were all written a long time after Jesus was said to have lived.
A LIFE WITHOUT CHRIST IS A LIFE FULL OF CRISIS!
Hahaha

Are you for real?

Have you guys already forgotten about Ted Haggard?

Or about the early Christians doomed to an early death in the Coliseums of Rome?

Or the Christians currently being slaughtered in Darfur?

Or the Christians being persecuted all over the Middle East?

Or how about those wonderful guys in the Catholic church who harbour sexual feelings towards children- are they too living a life without 'crisis'?
