OP needs to clarify why his insurance was voided....... More to the story.........šŸ˜‚

Most of what you stated, is what your insurance company is supposed to do ........ But at the point of a claim, your insurance can run a DD check on the insured and void policy (if any discrepancy was uncovered)......

I have someone facing something similar to this.
He has gotten a full license but have failed to update the insurance company, now there is a claim, company is speaking oyibo, owner of the other car is on his neck to repair. Wahala too much, he no know wetin to do

My take on this: Let her plead, beg, implore , beg and plead with the employer to give her some time to arrange child care.
From my experience of these matters (and based on what you have posted here), it will amount to a massive waste of her time, resources and mental health if she pursues some of the options being mentioned by respondents here.

Posers are:
a. She verbally told employer she would be on mat leave for 9 months? Where is the evidence such a thing was agreed?

b. When she was on a tier-4 dependant visa and working for this employer (note my choice of words, I didnā€™t use EMPLOYED), did she sign a contract? Was she on zero-hours contract or permanent employment?

c. Was she interviewed before she was given a CoS? What does the transcript of the interview say? Did she agree at interview that she will start immediately? What was the agreed start date at interview?

d. A CoS is NOT a job contract. If the employer decides to revoke a CoS, the employer could cite that the prospective employee provided false (or misleading) information during interview.

Etcā€¦..

In conclusion, tell this woman to beg, plead and plead again and again. She (actually) has no locus standi to claim wrongful dismissal.

Update

She has reached an agreement with her employer on when to resume (peaceably if I may add). Employer even agreed to assign her shifts when her husband is home and off work because of the child (no crazy childcare costs).

Thank you everyone for your input.

Hello Elders, please I need your input in this. Someone I know was on student dependent visa and was working as a support worker. Along the line she got pregnant and went on maternity leave but was not entitled to statutory maternity pay so she got maternity allowance. She has verbally told employer she would stay up to 9 months for her maternity leave. During her leave her visa was about to expire when she approached her employer for the possibility of a sponsorship. Employer agreed and gave her a cos which she has applied for the visa.

Employer is now insisting she resumes immediately, meanwhile she is still trying to arrange childcare and all before the previously agreed time (9 months). Nb employer is threatening to cancel Cos and withdraw sponsorship.

Please how should she approach this?

Hi all, please I will like to confirm if a visitor can state that she has a petty trade in Nigeria which is not registered with CAC as a proof of home ties.
Someone I know did this, but stated in the cover letter the kind of petty trading, where and how and supported with a busy account statement showing small small money entering via the trade and the visa was granted

Visa Alert!!!
Visit visa 6 Months granted for my mum.
She is visiting my family in the UK because I had a baby recently, Iā€™m the sponsor and I applied for her.

She retired from civil service 10 years ago and has been doing petty trade.
I added all evidence of her employment and retirement
I added family pictures (in MS word with descriptions)
Added letter of attestation from her husband
Added pictures of her in her shop
Added her bank statement
Added a letter of self-introduction
In addition to the above, I added a lot of Sponsor evidence to support her application.

Biometrics was done in the new PH centre and decision arrived in 6 working days.
Congratulations, please what sponsor document did you attach? Did you send any bulk money to her Acc?

You become liable for council tax from the day when you stop being a student, not when your student visa expires or when you switch visas.

In the letter you were issued to send to the council when you applied for an exemption from council tax, your university go don write the expected date of completion of your course.

After that date, you are liable to pay council tax unless you no finish your course on that date and had an extension.

Yes this is true. I called the council and they explained this to me

Hello,

I am about to file in a visit visa application for my mother. She would stay with us for 5 months, my husband and I would sponsor everything. Question is.. hope the duration of 5 months is not too much? She is a petty trader, should I file her as unemployed, since itā€™s just small fruit selling that she does. Anyone with similar experience?

What I did was to show an account statement with enough money to cover the flight fare and some miscellaneous expenses and then added my payslip and accomodation contract to show I can accommodate her and take care of her while here. First visit was for almost 5 months.
Hi, please did you state that she was going to stay for 5 months in your application?

Hello everyone, I have come for adviceā€¦.again

Iā€™m trying to rent a new apartment and part of the requirement is that I fill some forms providing my employer reference, previous landlord references, a guarantor etc etc including allowing the company keysafetv access to my account. Now I donā€™t have a problem with providing all the details,,,,, but allowing a company have access to my account and that of my guarantor(even though they said itā€™s ā€œview onlyā€ gat all my alarm ringing.

Has anyone gone through this cos Iā€™m already thinking maybe they donā€™t just want me to have the house. Ps.. I offered to generate the account statements but they refused

the Ā£150 they sent? Or the single occupancy discount? No these are not.
Scared to redeem mine cos I donā€™t want Ā£150 to spoil my parole. I was billed council tax and when I paid, they made a refund and said I was exempt. My question is, are people who are exempt from council tax entitled?

You can actually send them an email; something along the lines of
(NB : this essentially reduce to documentary evidence your 'oral off-record' convoys)

[Coy contact person]
[Company full name and details]

Dear ....

Outstanding remuneration re:

I take note that after refusing to avail yourselves of the mediation process, and the (non remuneration payment) dispute revert back to the you, you have now
- acknowledged the primary dispute at hand
- thus acknowledged that you have not effected remuneration payment to myself for service rendered as at when due
- you are indicative of readiness to effect long overdue payment
- acknowledged the dispute pending before the court

I trust you will do the (reasonable) needful forthwith without further delay or needing to be compelled to.

I thank you

Many thanks
... ....

Tweak as you desire. However, don't say too much. Less is much in law!

I simply told them to send their own email first with an offer to settle if I withdraw same case, then I will respond that I am willing to withdraw if I receive the money but they kept insisting that I send my mail firstā€¦ fishy much. Na me them wan use sense for? Person owe me, I carry am go court, na me go come still send mail say I Dey withdrawā€¦ mbanu

Please I need advise cos when I remember the suffer wey I suffer trek from bus stop to client house still Dey pain me

Hello people,

Please I need advice and help. Today is my 8th day at the hotel and I still can't get a house yet. Houses I've seen are mostly shared apartment and they won't accept us because we're a family of 3. Our baby is just a year and 1month. I sincerely Don't have money to renew., Checked studio flats as well but it's been negative so far.

Wifey's school is Westminster university a I have a budget of 900poundsper month. 1 hr commute is fine, y'all should pls suggest best area that fits this budget for easy commute. I can't even think bou work when we're not yet settled.

Make una help me abeg...

My suggestion is to keep searching on Zoopla and Rightmove etc. call instead of sending emails. One by one, then follow up.

I was frustrated when I was searching for mine, so I brought out a book and was calling everything and anything within my budget and wrote down all my interaction with them. Until one clicked

I'm back with my money saving or money making avenues. Good one on all the SIPP talk. Like someone said you can maximise your workplace pension by increasing the minimum contribution since most employers match the increase with a higher percentage. I went from contributing 3% percent for 2% employer's contribution (on auto enrolment) to contributing 6% for employer's 12%.

For anyone looking to save/make some cash whilst spending, utilising TopCashback when you shop online is the way to go. You essentially get cashback on items purchased from legit UK retailers . If you go through TopCashback website to retailers website , you will earn cashback that goes as high as 20% or even more.

You also get Ā£10 on sign up using the link below

Honestly though, in this 2022,keep your ears to the ground... We need to be making money and/ saving money so embrace every avenue that legally allows it . You can call me your Nairaland moneysaving expert grin grin grin grin

Money expert ā€¦. Please what bank would you recommend I open an account as a JJC here?
