Jokes apart, I am giving him shtick because I am a stickler for order. The complaints are embarassing, to say the least. Embarassing and highly disappointing. I hope he puts his house in order because a good name is better than material wealth. As I mentioned to him, until he gets his shiit together and with the kind of reports we've been getting, I will only recommend his services to somebody I want to punish.

oluwaseunla: Bro, you are not entirely correct. Some pre-order guys are based abroad and yes, they physically inspect vehicles. I know someone (here on nairaland) who goes to inspect with a certified mechanic. The day the car is paid for over there, they send the electronic bill of sale to your e-mail so the car is already in your name, not possible for it to be sold to someone else. The only thing is that you are the one that will contact a clearing agent for clearing. Besides, the link where the car is advertised is sent to you, so you know the exact cost price of the car, you are not given some round figure, so it's actually possible to get the car cheaper than you will get it in Lagos or Cotonou.
It's all about the different ways it's carried out. Like Eyop has been saying in this thread, there's nothing wrong with pre-order if you have an agent that is honest and trustworthy.
Inspiredm has promised to adjust on his shortcomings, personally I also feel he deserves another chance, after all no one is perfect. But that is only if he'll do everything humanly possible to work on most of the genuine complaints listed here.
But don't ask if I'll patronise him yet o, I believe his style will suit some folks.

[b]Oluwaseula nice post but to also add to your comment,my own style of pre-order is i have my own credible facilitator in the USA who will complete the transaction for me in the USA(he will charge commission for the service rendered) and ship the vehicle swiftly to me here in Nigeria & forward the BOL after which i contact a credible clearing agent as well for the clearing prior to arrival of the car at the port. I see no reason why i should do this 0%,20%,40%,60% deposit thing & balance amount after seeing the car when i have my complete funds to start & complete a transaction.

Some people won't see it this way but there's no way a car dealer will use his or her funds to facilitate a transaction without one paying an interest on that amount as well because most times it's a bank facility that is being used & you know how the banks charge on interest. Though i also understand that they are more comfortable with this arrangement just to be sure that not all their money will enter Lagoon should incase anything happens.

But one should also understand that if one is to purchase 20" or 40" container of goods you pay 100% before the goods are shipped so i repeat if i have my funds intact,i will do as i have stated above.

I am a business man & all businesses are prone to risk so what works for me may not work for another. [/b]
