Siena: Advice in terms of what, bro?
I mean what you have to say about direct injection engines, the problems associated with it and same with indirect injection engines.
Car Talk › Re: Direct Injection Vs Indirect Injection Engine by Eyop(op): 7:32pm On Jul 08, 2014
Siena: Urrrmmm, diesels haven't always been direct injection. They were indirect injection up to the late 1980's. Audi pioneered Direct Injection Diesel, with the first passenger car to run the new system being the type 44 Audi 100. This was the 2.5 TDI in Europe, and this was back in 1988.

The type 89 Audi 80 followed with the 1.9 TDI. Back then, Audi's biggest competitor was BMW, with the E34 525 TDS.
So siena what's your advice about the direct and indirect fuel injection.

youmour: well damn..that explained alot, thunder fire her then
lol i can't cancel of a serious relationship because she refused to be intimate with me now but there are more to marriage than boyfriend and girlfriend. She still calls me and chat me up though but sometimes i don't pick her calls or even respond to her chat. I invested a lot there but it yielded no result so have suspended relationship completely for now. She was the first person that pushed me into embarking on 8hrs trip and will be the last.

youmour: so basically u ended up not settling down with her cos she said no tonga until marriage? u were never ready to settle down mister man,u only used that as format.good thing she didnt give in
Brother that was part of it but i didn't cancel the relationship because of that atleast i was still very much in it for over 2 years i said she was not open to me like i was to her. Like she was not free with me and all that. Gisting me a lot about her last relationship and what she did in that one but was never experienced in ours. I asked about her sister that from information was told she was onced married but she denied it and so many other things.
Romance › Re: Nairalanders Share Your Blind Dates Experience Here by Eyop: 3:52pm On Jul 08, 2014
Well mine was via wrong number. It all happened some years ago while i was in a relationship and i noticed one particular number always calling me that she wants to speak with one Aunty Monique but i kept telling her that she's calling a wrong number but she kept calling my number and sending goodwill messages that she's sure of the number she's calling that i should return the owners phone. After a while she stopped and coincidentally my relationship ended that period so i felt i should contact this person that has been calling me all these while to know more about her.

Contacted her and asked to know more about her and she told me her names and she's a student of University of Abuja and she also resides in Abuja with her elder sister and the next thing that came to my mind was that this should be a runs girl but all the same i continued the conversation and also requested for her pic but she refused telling me that since i told her it's a wrong number that we should end the conversation and we shouldn't contact each other again.

But i continued because she sounded very nice and i wanted to know more about her. I kept persuading her to send me her pics that i would really love to see what she looks like but she said there's no means to send that and the only way she can have that done is via her sister's Blackberry so i gave her my pin and she used her sister's phone to send the pic to me. Very beautiful girl i must say after which i requested for her to come to Lagos but she declined that if am serious,i should come over to Abuja or what do i take her for.

I told some close friends about the recent happenings with this babe and her insisting i should come to Abuja if i must see her and during this time she was in a relationship that was shaky(the guy was never in touch but whenever he does,he will profess love that he's missing her bla bla bla and the relationship will be revived) but me i was always looking for ways to knock the guys job grin grin so she can fully concentrate with me because at a point she was not taking me serious like that so i was always calling her everyday and doing all the toasting.

She later told her guy about me and the guy warned her never to allow me come to Abuja which she told me about and she insisted that i shouldn't come again but i later begged and that was resolved.

Finally i decided to embark on my trip to Abuja for the very first time and my guys were making mockery of me that am foolish ooo, guys are going to Abuja for business but me am going to see one babe that i don't know whether she's crippled, slowpoke, etc but i didn't mind them and while i was planning my trip, the babe requested that i should buy a blackberry for her and that when i get to Abuja, she will refund me the money. I was kind of shocked to receive the news and started meditating over it(whether i don enter one chance with this kind request)because it will be a big Bleep up if i should request for the blackberry money on arrival.

I bought the phone and travelled to Abuja and while on the road,i kept wondering what the outcome of my journey will be.So on arrival i informed her as well and she was also eager to see me. We finally met(at Golden Astoria Hotel Utako at their relaxation spot because she resides in Gwarimpa estate) the next day which was on a Saturday and sincerely nothing different from the pics i saw(very beautiful girl) and we gisted and handed over the phone to her,she picked up her hand bag and counted the money to repay me back but i told her it's a gift from me to you. She couldn't believe it but thanked me for the gift. To cut the long story short,i met with the sister and 6 months later she finally accepted my request and we were in a relationship.

But i noticed that she was wasn't open in all totallity to me like that way i was to her,she even said no intimacy despite the way i will beg her like a small baby and this a girl i told i want to marry oooh, made my intentions known to the sister,my family members aware and while in Abuja she met my uncle, wife and children, met with my younger sister as well. So with all the wahala it didn't yield any results so i decided to back out after 2years after the i exhausted my patience. That's how it ended.

Nairaland General › Re: My Horrible Experience In The Hand Of Inspired Autos. (RESOLVED) by Eyop: 11:31am On Jul 08, 2014
jeremiahweep: I very much agree with an earlier poster who said there are likely more people who have very sad stories to tell about their encounter & experiences but just decide to "let it pass" so as not to seem to tarnish the dealer's image.

Personally I have dealt with Inspired, and like other nairalanders, the high reputation he seems to have makes a lot of people go for his pre-order vehicles despite being at a higher cost. I think he's currently living on past glory cos his current customer communication skills is "zero" (same story of ignoring calls and he'll never call back despite seeing the numerous missed calls, wouldnt respond to e-mails, if by chance you finally get him by calling with another number, then he talks like he's doing you a favour despite the fact that you've paid 40% deposit and he has missed deadline by weeks.)

Apparently, what I feel is the 31days delivery he displays on his website is most times not realistic, everyone knows it takes a while to ship a car in from US and there could be unforseen issues from customs, but simply communicating the status with the customer would resolve the issue but instead, Inspired would become "incommunicado" for days or even weeks with no explanation whatsoever. We are all humans, promises can be broken but proper communication is key in business relationships.

In as much as Pre-ordering vehicles has its advantages (clean title, american spec etc), some negatives include the fact that, you have paid some % deposit and as a result, you can't pull out of the deal at will. If the vehicle looks or handles different from what you saw in pictures, you have no choice than to buy it. In short you are always at the mercy of the dealer and there is nothing you can do about it. On the other hand, for those who do physical purchase, you can change your mind about buying a car after seeing it and not liking it.

More importantly, I recently unravelled a new "well-thought of" scam used by a particular trusted car dealer to deceive customers (I won't mention his name yet). It is known that the only way you can prove that a car's Odometer has been rolled back is by checking the Carfax or Autocheck history. Fraudulent car dealers have gone to another level to ensure you never find out about the Odometer rollback even after checking the Carfax or Autocheck history.

This is a personal experience and I will open a new thread for it as its a "RED ALERT" and a front page material, I will include proof and correspondence with the dealer so that he's unable to deny it. I will also give information on how you can spot this kind of fraud.

Let's be very very careful with those we trust especially when money is involved.
Jeremiah nice post. I am interested at the bolded please create the thread and lets be informed biko
Car Talk › Re: Siena's MK5 Toyota Hilux Customisation Project - "Apple Candy". by Eyop: 7:42pm On Jul 07, 2014
Siena: I spent the day away from work, and the bodyshop, I had to have a stainless exhaust system made up for a friend's Old Skool Audi Cabriolet.

However, some progress has been made in my absence. I got a call letting me know my Audi A4 B5 Sedan trunk hinge system had been fitted, and could I come down to see if it was okay? The thing is, I was 73 miles away, in Basildon. So it would be a mad dash back to Hayes.

Still, I got back in good time. The hinges have been fitted, and the cantilever-like set up works just the way I thought it would. The hinges are currently secured to the sides of the bed by 10mm self-tappers. I'm going to drop down some bolts and nuts tomorrow. The idea is the nuts will be welded in as captives (on the outside, within the groove / hook area). Because once the hook area is plated over and smoothed, the won't be any access, should I wish to remove the lid.

Tomorrow, I'll pop into the bodyshop during my break, and show the fabricator exactly where I want the hydraulic ram retainers to be welded to the frame, and the tab for the catch. The rams on the hinges are not strong enough to hold the lid open. I'm also toying with the idea of having no lock on the new tailgate, (which has been temporarily fitted to ensure the plated-over hook recess on the bed sides matches the profile of the tailgate perfectly).

I also took the opportunity to have the roof rain channel steel plates cut out, and dropped off. These will be welded in place tomorrow.

Once the bed lid' frame's hydraulic ram tabs have been welded in place, along with the catch tab, I'm taking the frame back to my fabricator, who will then weld in the support trusses, followed by the skin itself. Then it's back to the bodyshop for finishing.

We're cooking on gas, well on track. Things are looking great.
Hello Siena please i need your attention on this thread because i don't want to derail this one. Thanks https://www.nairaland.com/1802722/direct-injection-vs-indirect-injection

Hello house... Siena and co...please can you please explain to me which is better because most cars manufactured these days are making use of the Direct Injection Engines and i understand that it economizes fuel better than the Indirect injection. What are the problems associated with this type of Engines?

My brother hold on there's a development and update have just received. It may be a 2012 this time because the engine on the 2012 is a direct fuel injection with a higher horse power & it even economizes fuel up to 29 MPG highway compared to 2011 which is indirect fuel injection with 24-25 MPG highway. I will send you an updated e-mail this time around.

bimbor: Eeyah.....I feel you already.....and that is because of the Ignition system used in Mercedes Benz vehicles. Unfortunately there are many other electrical issues common to Mercedes products apart from this EIS failure;

Electrical System Problems

Most of the commonly occurring problems in Mercedes-Benz cars have to do with the car's electrical system. The electrical system starts with the battery, which is used in starting the car and in operating various functions such as the car's lights, sound system, and other accessories. The battery itself is sometimes the problem, but in Mercedes-Benz, it is also common for the alternator, which produces the electricity that is stored in the battery, to be problematic. If the alternator is not working properly, the battery is not being recharged, and therefore will run out of charge quickly. Other electrical system issues that often appear in Mercedes-Benz vehicles are wiring problems and issues with various controls found on the dashboard, such as the radio or air conditioning.

Rattling at Engine Startup

Many Mercedes-Benz owners report a rattling sound when starting their car. This problem is especially likely to occur during the winter or in cold areas. In many cases, the rattle is caused by a worn belt tensioner. The belt winds around the different elements of the car engine to give them power. When the belt tensioner is not working properly, the belt won't be tight enough around these components; if you think this might be the problem, it's important to get it checked as soon as possible. If the rattling sound continues after the car has been running for a while, it might be due to a water pump pulley, and may cause your car to overheat easily.

Engine Cooling Problems

Sometimes a faulty water pump pulley can cause the engine to overheat. The water pump cools your car by pumping coolant through all the necessary systems. It can fail due to a faulty pulley or a worn and rusted seal. Engine cooling problems also occur when a faulty gasket head causes a coolant leak inside your car's system. A leaky radiator can also cause your car to overheat. You can spot a radiator leak fairly easily because fluid will drip from under the car.

Rear Suspension Rattling

Suspension problems sometimes occur in Mercedes-Benz vehicles, especially at the rear suspension. A fairly common issue is a breakage with one of the rear springs. The spring snaps near its lower portion, and the broken end is left loose to knock against the other parts of the car, creating a rattling sound. If you hear a rattle coming from the back of your car, check to see if there are any broken springs and bring your car in to be serviced as soon as possible.

But then most car manufacturers all have one drawback or the other....and we still have to buy a vehicle.
So just weigh your pros and cons well and aim with your best shot.
If you review problems of different brands of vehicles you may be discouraged to even own one. Toyota,Nissan,Honda,Acura, Lexus, etc also have their own common problems and sometimes may not even happen because it depends on usage. All of the above you listed are not big deal to me because it isn't a problem that can happen with a certified car that has a very low mileage and sometimes may not even happen and even if it does,it can be sorted out here e.g like the Engine Rattling you mentioned do happen in other brands. Moreover when i buy,it won't be an everyday car but most times strictly for travelling long distance because Benz is perfect for that.

bimbor: @Eyop u really love this Thumb start ooh cheesy

Mercedes Benz with Thumb Start!! Meehn that one go dey very expensive ooh!
My Oga lol so i find you here...well the thumb start is very unique on it and also to avoid the issue of EIS failure because that is a common problem with this W204 benz. If such happens,it is not something that can be repaired immediately but it has to be ordered & programmed from Germany which may take months to complete the entire process. So you see the wahala

Am glad you understood my point and yes i know we can produce fuel for exports but because of corruption that's not possible at this. It is our crude that produces the best fuel when refined by these countries. Nigeria is blessed but the leaders are bad.

I still do not agree with your post even though i understand what you mean. It's after refining that you get fuel and who are the refiners of the product in Nigeria for export? You previous post stated that USA imports fuel from us which is wrong that's why i mentioned Crude oil. What Americans and some countries import from us is Crude oil(because ours is the best in the world) which is the raw material and the end product is the fuel. I will agree with your post if we are the ones refining for export to the countries you mentioned in your previous post but that's not the case here.

It's better to buy fuel with a higher Octane level than a lower one. But in Nigeria our filling stations doesn't have Octane ratings.

@OP you can experience same problem from other filling stations as well is not all about NNPC Mega station. Thank God you are driving a Japanese that can tolerate some fuel types unlike some Europe cars that requires premium unleaded fuel with a minimum 91 RON octane level. In Nigeria all join i.e buying leaded and unleaded fuel without differentiating the two and i don't even know the standard octane level of Nigerian fuel whether it's even up to 91 RON.

The control knobs will come off in no time. The only scenario where I will pick the matrix is if it is the 4wd version.
Corolla design is unique. The Matrix having 4WD won't the change the fact that it's still Matrix except for the XR or XRS trim.
