The 2009 link you sent me is wonderful. Sincerely all cars you bring in for different customers are certified OK. However the price for the 2008 is too much for me. I am just so confused right now in regards the 2006 C230. Well i will look into it for a final decision as this will be my 1st benz and i do not want to venture into something that will be issues for me.

Thanks again inspired. How about the 2008 C300 Sports. Not the 4matic. Mileage should be less than 40,000. I have read so many customers complains about transmission on the 2005,2006 and 2007 Mercedes C230 so am kind of worried even though the 2006 C230 was the prefered choice because the engine is quieter than the 2005 Kompressor. So have decided to find out the cost to bring in the 2008 C300. Thank you.

Inspired am just seeing this now because it didn't alert me in the e-mail. However i am considering between the 2005 Mercedes C230 Kompressor (4 Cylinder) and the 2006 Mercedes C230 (6 Cylinder). In your own opinion which is better in terms of maintenance. I am also aware that the Kompressor is a wear item that will have an issue with time. Your advice will be appreciated. Please confirm the price of the 2006 Mercedes C230 with Navigation.

To me your point is not well justified. I have bought over 15 cars personally in cotonou and i have up to 3 agents over there working for me and even in the area of customs i know some top people there both at idiroko and seme border that can easily bring down cost of duty to a reasonable rate. In cotonou you cannot diagnose a vehicle and cannot have access to the vin report or carfax to ascertain whether the vehicle was well maintained or involved in an accident or if the odometer has been tampered with. The white men there will only buy what they can easily sell here and make more money. I recently bought a 2007 Toyota matrix XR in cotonou for my younger sister but engine wise it sounded very well and the body very neat etc but only to later notice that the car was accidented and the odometer was tampered. At a speed of 120 to 140 you will feel the impact on the car.

In the area of transmission you cannot know if the transmission is OK or not because when a vehicle is stagnant how will you know and where is the space in cotonou to test run a vehicle. But in USA you will have the vehicle history that will show you everything i,e if the vehicle was involved in an accident,if the odometer has been tampered with,if it is was involved in flood,if it has a salvage history etc and it is then left for you to decide whether to buy or not. If one doesn't have a reliable person to do that for you,you can contact some knowledgeable and trusted people to do a preorder which to me is far more better and safer to anyone than the cotonou issue.

Not that you cannot check a car vin but where is the time to do so? Before you must have completed a vin check on the vehicle,someone else must have indicated interest in that same vehicle and paid for it. So that is my point my brother and to everyone reading this.

It will be very advisable for one to pre-order a vehicle from the USA or Europe as the case may be rather than this cotonou Business. Buying cars from Cotonou has more disadvantages except the buyer is aware of all that and still chooses to transact. In cotonou,the white men there would import vehicles that would be cheap and easy for them to sell and most cars are with Salvage history,odometer issues,repairs done on it,parts theft etc. Apart from the very expensive vehicles say from #2.5million and above,anything less than that will be 50:50.

igahdavid: Yes they are for real, cheap cars, original mileages(though it could be high) but mostly manual(schaltgetriebe). I have bought lots of cars from them. You just have to try and buy vehicles that are near to your shipping agent, because the pickup cost might become expensive.

calculusx: A Salvage Car doesn't mean the Car isn't road worthy. A Car could be termed Possible Total Loss by an Insurance Adjuster for so many reasons especially when the extent of the damage exceeds the cost of the Car and at times the damage may be minor but the Car will still be Termed Total Loss.
I recently Sold an Accord with a similar report{link below}. Apart from the Report been manipulated before i made the purchase, i later discovered it was a Total Loss Registered to an Insurance Company.
I will advise you inspect the Car, test drive it and run a scan on it. If the Car checks out, you can go ahead with the purchase or you probably discuss with the seller and ask to know the extent of the damage done to the Car as we shouldn't believe so much in Auto-check Report as not all accidents or damage are reported to Carfax.

Trac thanks for the analysis between the E class and the C class. Can you further explain on which models based on your experience that one can purchase because to my understanding the higher the engine capacity the higher the cost of maintenance and even fuelling. The 1.8 litre engine C class seems to be easier to maintain compared to the 2.6,3.2litre engines which is a V6.

The C Class are very easy to maintain compared to the E class and in regards to fuel consumption,it all depends on the engine capacity of the vehicle you are buying. Also the C is compact in size while the E is larger in size.

Inspired. Is it possible to get a 2006 Mercedes C280 4matic with a good interior from you. Very low Mileage and Not a salvage vehicle but rather clear title.
