kettykin: A senior Army officer involved in the military’s search for the missing herdsmen told The AUTHORITY that “in my capacity I can’t talk to the press but my commanding officer will get back to you for details. He is currently in a meeting in Ohafia I really don't know what to say of Nigeria's military, so their business is now to search for missing herdsmen and shoot at unarmed protesters and arrest youths protesting herdsmen destruction of their farmlands. I cringe for such a useless country. My man u no know say their number 1 kinsmen na one Buhari? Their number 2 'kinsmens' na the whole Fulani and Hausa dominated army. Their number 3 kinsmen na senators way get stocks and shares for their business. Army go cease gun from Book Haram, senate go applaud their bravery, PMB no go say whee as Army go carry d guns give them cow raiser brothers. |

So all you do is to come online and defend politicians who don't even know about your existence.
I'm yet to see any of these politicians children (apc and pdp) defend their parents online.
Better go look for something to do with your life. Don't let your children stone you when they grow up. He is defending his and those who speak the truth in it. I for 1 salute him for take the time to do so. |

Vongsama: OP are u serious about this? I mean with all the obvious flaws of buhari u still take time to hav a dig at fayose instead. Truth be told, fayose isn't a gud leader bt he's better than wat we hav as a president n he is really doin a gud job keepin d daura man in check to some extent. Coming from a young dude like u, I'm really disappointed. Sir, You just spoke my mind perfectly. Fayose seems to be a man that loves mixing high drama with bitter bitter truths and his bold outspoken nature is second to none. Unfortunately haters of truth and lovers of APC chose to see and criticise only the drama part. OP, 3 days ago I came across a topic like yours and lost my temper with that OP for a very simple reason.....GARRI ! in d days PMB promised us change and a better Nigeria, Fulani herdsmen were not murdering Nigerians and walking scot free. Their victims were not being arrested by d army and dumped in jail. The NEPA of this land wasn't allowed to rob me blind in broad daylight or is it darkness and most importantly A PAINT BUCKET OF GARRI WAS 200 naira!!!! Notice now pls, I'm not going to talk about the dollar at all or fake corruption trials and fights that seem to last forever and still get nowhere fast. Today, barely a year later the very same paint bucket of garri is 450 naira! I had bought it that very afternoon for my kids to manage. For a wise man, a knowledgeable former head of state, and for a party as a whole to go promising heaven and earth before elections, they are a terrible disappoint to say the least. Oh, wait....could it be they had no idea what they were promising Nigerians? Didn't know what they were talking about? Or is it that they made promises without first evaluating their abilities to keep them? if so then they purposely lied to Nigerians, to d poor and to the helpless who suffer everyday and have to buy garri at ridiculously high prices while the high and mighty politicians enjoy their loot both here and overseas where theirs kids are. They ought to be lined up against a wall and stoned for vile atrocities against mankind, all of them. Mr. OP, I strongly suggest u and everyone like u leaves Mr. Ayo Fayose alone for he is the only politician in this country that will sit on d bare ground with the poor. And above all, he speaks with the voice of the poor masses, the complete truth and nothing but the truth, though he does it in his own uncultured manner. You have a nice day |

Nalikedis: All countries you listed have active nuclear power plants...india has over 7 nuclear plants India has several multi-productive refineries as well while Nigeria is quarrelling with just a handful that refuse to produce fuel. Where are all the esteemed professors and universities I wonder! Perhaps if we jump over to the highly dangerous nuclear power projects we will get it right,......cool. |

Hagm0nd: Was the basis of the discussion based on maintenance of nuclear plants or that the government shouldnt embark on nuclear energy because some projects are should be attended to first
a good journey starts with a step, all we need are good hands to handle this projects if you are complaining about our mismanagement, then the country shouldnt engage in any projects at all since we know we are so poor at taking care of things
countries like japan and russia that has onhand experts, did that stop nuclear reactor from imploding on it self
pls do not insult my knowledge of chemistry it is very profound Since your knowledge on chemistry is very profound then I need not say much, my good friend. First, I apologize if have insulted your knowledge in anyway. Secondly, please, aside from overpriced bridges, name just two projects in this great country that has been handled right? Not even d senate itself or d housing projects of its leaders are right? Chemistry, my friend, doesn't even begin to explain the phenomenal science of nuclear physics of which I have basic knowledge. Chemistry is just the most basic science that gives one a simple insight of the nature of radioactive elements. for example the water we drink IS made up of hydrogen and oxygen but the same hydrogen is the same hydrogen that is used to create a bomb that can destroy a whole continent in one spark! Chemistry introduces you to d radioactive isotopes not the know how. The Japan and Russia u mentioned are actually pioneers in nuclear science, their technology rivals that of the united states and its allies still they could only stand and watch helplessly when disaster hit their nuclear plants. Japan and Russia are far more advanced than Nigeria and I promise all the chemistry and physics professors in this country will be the first to run away when 'your beloved nuclear plant' goes into a meltdown because of a 3 day warning strike by the union. My late father had a saying, 'show that u can mange what you have first then u deserve a new and better one'. Of course I never agreed with him as a child but I'm wiser now as an adult. Mark my words, the USA will never build any Nuclear plant for Nigeria because it knows Nigeria is not ready but China or Russia will jump to build it and d price tag and fraud that will follow will make u cover your ears when u hear it. but the disaster, when it hits will make your blood run cold. Oil and chemical spills can be cleaned but nuclear disasters can't ....go and ask the very Russia and Japan you mentioned. |

No wonder your uncles spent 16 years in office and looted and shared $20 billion power money in return for the darkness we are still experiencing...
Smh.. How old are u exactly and how old do u think I'm that u should insultive words to me. My uncle? Pray tell, what tribe am I from? My laziness? I laugh at your ignorance. You barely know someone and yet u talk like this? Amazing! if you feel Nigerian engineers won't find ways to mess things up even with the highest safety precaution computers can be programmed to induce I can only applaud your patriotic zeal but refuse to exchange words with someone who knows not how to talk civilly. Every child, even grown ups love a good toy or a new machine but they do not necessarily know how to maintain its health. The Nigerian Airways and other projects failed for a common reason and none of mine was nowhere nearby. Nitel failed for d same reason, NEPA and NNPC with all its refiniaries are failing even now for that reason. The nature of the uranium isotopes, plutonium or even the, heavy fuels that are by-products of d nuclear reactions of generating power, oh man. let's just forget those, too deadly. Let's just consider the tons of water required to cool the reactor and maintain its temperature. if even a small cup of that radioactive water finds its way into underground water source people will be catching cancer for a hundred miles around!! Don't u understand ?? u can study nuclear engineering even here in Nigeria, get weapon grade uranium in Bauchi state but that nuclear plant, after bringing in Russia and Japan to build it for 100 billion dollars, because the wise USA will never agree to it, will go d way of all Nigerian projects. What way do u think that is? Chew on that and be wise. You have a nice night |

Geezyayo: "FAYOSE GBOTI E"
Is fayose a governor or a full-time antagonist of President Buhari? or Is making comments aimed at castigating other people the constitutional duty of a governor. Gov. Fayose should remember a proverb he himself quoted not long ago " FALANA GBOTI E....". It is unwarranted and uncalled for to keep distracting Nigerians all because you think you have an opinion, you have the right to have your opinion but Mr. Governor must you always speak it out in public? Is it wrong to communicate your grieviances if any, privately with Mr. President? Mr. Governor you have the mandate of over two million nigerians focus on doing your best in bringing to their doorstep the dividends of democracy. In Nigeria's history, even the president that stayed at home the most still faced various challenges and yet at the end of the day we had nothing to show for it. I personally do not see anything wrong with Mr. Presidents traveling i only suggest he prioritizes and stay focused on giving us his best. As long as Mr. President gives his best to making our Nation better i have no problem. A lot of people like Mr. Governor fail to understand that even in the best Democratic dispensation it is still hard and almost impossible to fulfill all campaign promises for christ sakes take a look at the economy. You should understand by holding an office as a Governor by now that there are what i believe to be practical realities in governance. This practical realities are what we must evaluate before we can take decisions, permit me to say 90 % of Mr. Presidents campaign promises when analysed and cross evaluated with the present state of the Nigerian economy are unrealistic. Therefore, Mr. Governor and all other citizens of Nigeria should stop expecting magic to happen. We have already made our choice, let's stand by it as MEN and WOMEN who want the best for Nigeria. Let's support PMB it's the only way we can move forward as a nation.
I'm Alukoolokun ayomide i believe with the progressive effort of you and i a better Nigeria is possible. We'll get there!!! My good friend, in d day PMB promised us change and a better Nigeria Fulani herdsmen were not murdering Nigeria and walking scot free. Politics › Re: We’ll Deliver 10,000 MW Target - Fashola by Eze2000(m): 10:26am On Apr 02, 2016 |
winkmart: The Minister of Power, Works and Housing, Mr. Babatunde Fashola, has given an assurance that the 10,000 megawatts of electricity in three years promised by President Muhammadu Buhari earlier in the month will be actualised. He added that the energy crisis facing the country would soon be a thing of the past, saying one of the country’s power plants located at Gbarain in Bayelsa State, which was close to completion, was fired the previous night for pre-commissioning tests.
Speaking at the resolution of a three-year dispute between Enugu Electricity Distribution Company and Aba Power Limited, which had stalled the completion of a 141MW power project for the area, the minister said the resolution and the recovery of four turbines that were down would ensure that the power challenge facing the country could be overcome. A statement by the Special Adviser to the Minister on Communications, Hakeem Bello, on Friday quoted the Minister as saying apart from showing that distribution companies could work together, the development would also be of great benefit to traders in the area and boost ‘Made in Nigeria’ goods, which the area is known for.
He said, “We had some outages on our turbines in Jebba but l am happy to inform you that three of the four have been put back into operation and that there is again stability in the system. The power coming into the country is not enough and how do you share what is not enough, it is not possible, so what we need to do is generate more power.
“The 200 megawatts coming from Aba is very important and it is good news for the market. “The first turbine is on and is being synchronised and that is what we are saying and with incremental power we will achieve the target set by Mr. President in his speech last week.” While thanking former Head of State, Gen. Abdusalami Abubakar, Vice President Yemi Osinbajo, Mr. Adetokunbo Kayode, Prof. Bart Nnaji, among others, for the roles they played in making the resolution possible, the minister said time had come for everyone to work together for the betterment of the power sector.

An0nimus: Safarigirl I didn't know you write stories too. You're pretty multi-faceted and I like - football, rap, literature, video games? dance? keep it up miss.
A few observations on this last update:
" we left the building and drive off, " - I think the 'drive' should be 'drove' seeing the 'left' is past tense.
" I branched" - Looking at the usage I doubt "branched" is the right word. Branched is not proper english in that context.
The second paragraph was a bit long with many commas before the full stop. Feel a full stop can come in after "drive off" and the following sentence tweaked a bit.
On Gladys knowing some French which Isidore didn't know before: my brain protest small for that place. For two people to be close up to "phone call" level I feel they should know they both speak some level of french. Maybe there's an explanation for that I skipped.
As with the first case I pointed out there're a few other tense mix up.
A couple typos here and there but running spellcheck should cure that.
I say make I support your ministry with the small I know. The pros should have more to say. All in all, its a great effort. You can only go higher there are several stages in book writing and proofing, where u make such corrections above, is just one. Her story I still yet to get there I think, if she tries to correct every mistake and grammatical error she'll lose focus on d plot itself. proofing is a time consuming process.
