SirShymexx: But is the Nigerian movie industry based in the places you listed - or Lagos? Stop telling porkies.
Now, let's break it down. Lagos, by far, has the largest GDP in the country at $91bn (about a fifth of Nigeria's GDP). Once you break the Lagos GDP further down - the Nigeria movie industry contributes little or nothing to it, and the industry is largely informal with piracy as its bane. So, how did Iweala magically include the Nigeria movie industry that's inconsequential where it's based, in the national GDP, as one of the highest contributors, is still a mystery to discerning minds. Obviously, it was done to make up numbers.
Also, is P-square Nigeria's biggest music export, or D'banj? Has P-square ever charted on any international music chart? Performed at any international concert (Glastonbury, o2 wireless festival UK, African nation's cup etc.? Oh it is now you want to clarify where Nollywood is based, the "inconsequential movie industry ridden with piracy"? Guy, we know what the demographics of Lagos is. The Oba of Lagos had to literally fly off his seat because he knows what the demographic of Lagos is. It's like a white person bragging about the economy of Atlanta, US or Birmingham, UK. The guys you wanted to diss in Anambra, are the same ones you're indirectly using to brag. What, you think mechanic spare parts and lock up shops seize to bolster Lagos' economy because people want to shame them for being overwhelmingly represented by one group of people? You cannot use Lagos economy to brag against southeastern Nigeria. |

omonnakoda: You are a whisperer of poison and hate. You are not of those who build but destroy. What is the meaning of your innuendo better suited to your grandchild. Yoruba killed Ibaka surely that is deserving of a whole new thread. But is the kind of nonsense you can spew in your Ilo.
Ibaka a pipe dream of Akpabio which he at the end decided to ditch preferring to build a stadium instead. That is your answer for who killed Ibaka. What economic value rather than an ego trip is that stadium.?
You accuse Yoruba of killing it. Who was the most senior Yoruba person in government over the last 5 years What was the total money spent on militants in that period The budget of the Niger delta Ministry Niger Delta development Commission. Without doubt there was enough money to build it and more but it was stolen and wasted and not b Yorubas. Your people were in government, dominant, Minister of Finance,Aviation SFG,Deputy Senate President where were the Yoruba and what were those people doing while Yoruba were killing Eboe or Eastern projects. When hate prevails your sense of reasoning dies What's your point? dafuturis promised a tsunami and I'm setting them up for the eye of the storm? Isn't that fair? |

SirShymexx: What is the GDP of Anambra?
Stop posting junk articles, post figures. Half of the GDP of Nigeria could probably be matched by the contributions of people from Anambra in the informal sector. Your state does not produce anything that Nigeria relies on. |

SirShymexx: You mean Iweala's voodoo paper GDP/economics, which listed an inconsequential movie industry ridden with piracy, that was subsidised more than once by GEJ's - is what you can tout as ya contribution, no? The crap was just listed there to make up numbers.
How about post the annual turnover of the industry based on facts and how much the practitioners are worth, and let's start from there? The Nigerian movie industry (based in Asaba, Onitsha and Enugu), is the only relevant thing Nigeria exports to the world apart from Boko Haram, P-Square and crude oil. How about you provide the figures of the informal economy of Nigeria of which the majority of Nigerians survive on, then you can start to asses the other regions contribution to wealth accurately. That your state produces banana or coco more than Imo does not mean that the Nigerian state isn't well known to be almost completely reliant on resources from one region of the country. How about that? |

SirShymexx: Seriously, I don't think normal Yorubas give half-a-phuck about the oil in the SS (SE is inconsequential and the region doesn't even contribute nothing to the national coffers compared to what it takes). Lagos doesn't even need the oil - the oil would be used for the other states in the SW, and to develop other potentials. Lagos just needs a world class Financial District to thrive. Please, when are you declaring ya own country, it's long overdue? Here: http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/business-31536706 |

We get huge chunk of allocation for being the bread winner, yet it seems we're the poorest. Duru1: I would never want to do anything with group of people whom you have adjudged a bread winners and still remain poor. From your post, it is clear your problem is inferior mentality. I am for the Republic of Igbo land that excludes Ika. I do not need anybody's crude oil as do other meaningful Ndiigbo people in Nigeria. Ndiigbo have lived successful life without the benefit of crude oil since it was first struck in Igbo land in 1951. dafuturis comments do not reflect the views of the general Ika populace or their leaders. The person obviously has a personal gripe with other Igbo people for absolutely no reason since they seem to be living in Imo State with nobody chasing them, unless they are typing on the run. The people of Ika have grown increasingly closer to easterners, many Biafran soldiers were even Ika. We can't let loudmouths be the spokespeople for entire groups simply because they are the most caustic and visible. And if dafuturis thinks ndi Ika are more in line with other parts of Nigeria or wherever, then that is just a joke maka ime mmiri we si o ka banye. |

dafuturis: Er! Nwu onye Ika. It not sentiment but the view of many ika. About Imo and her ilk states, I chose not to say a thing. Ndi Ika a wukozi "ovigbo"? You cannot say Imo did anything bad and then not recount what they and "ilk states" (which would include Anioma) did bad. |

dafuturis: Am from the North, an Ika, Abavo precisely. So what difference does it make? Onye Ika ki wu? Then I know you're comments about the SE are personal and are not the sentiments of ndi Ika, because those days are ancient day. By the way, out of curiosity, what did you see in Imo that would be so ominous for the 'south south'? |
