So you are among the few that believed developed countries come to Africa because of our money buhaha. My friend Europe and U.S.A in particular are only helping Nigeria and other Africa Nations, the best way any developed countries can help under developed countries are exactly the way Nigeria is being help.

1. Election: you will agree with me that one of the biggest problems of Africa is wrong leaders. They come and try to ensure we have a credible election. Monitor the process to ensure the people in power did not rig against the will of the people. Once we get leadership right and he truly cares for his people infrastructure and salaries will naturally fall into places including good education.
2. Good Education: Educate the people, let them have the ability to think and create wealth for themselves. Take some of their people ,train them adequately and the society absorb them back. This train professionals give back to the society what they have learn n the cycles go on. By this the people knows what to do and do them thereby improving the lives of people and using materials in their domain to improve the society.

3. Good health/ Giving aid during crisis: We all believe health is wealth. You can only think of good election/ education etc when we are healthy. They provide drugs and medicine during crisis, bring expatriates to help mitigate casualties. And at the end theses people are back to their feet and survive. Just to mention a few. our problem will remain bad leaders, leaders who only cares about their immediate family and others can go to hell. The way Africa have being provided for is the same way countries like Singapore, Brazil and many Asia countries have been helped in the past and they are doing well now.

Naive. IBB, Abacha, and several other Nigeria HOS were known CIA agents.

One thing about African people in general is that all of this strife was manufactured by outsiders, Igbo, Yoruba, Fulani, etc didn't know themselves as one thing 200 years ago, but the same outsiders are allowed to go to any African country freely without the repercussions of all the fighting. Nigeria, as can be seen from how US statesmen and other Western leaders simply appear every election time, is ran by Western interest, just like any other African country.

LOL..that is why the airport is now allowed to rot. Now FG has left it behind because other Igbo states understood the politics behind it. Owerri airport traffic is more than twice Enugu airport traffic. The enugu airport has been abandoned, so it is now left for your state govt to take it and run as a local airport.

Owerri has more traffic because of the road connection, everybody heading to Owerri isn't stopping off at Owerri, most of those people get off and drive to Anambra, Abia and other parts of Imo State. The Enugu-PH road is a death trap that nobody wants to try, so also is the Enugu-Onitsha road a shambles. If you fix the roads to Enugu, especially Enugu-Onitsha, the airport will overtake Owerri which was why people were pushing for that road to be fixed.

@ezeagu, one of the observation I've made about SE Igbo's is that they are so self-appraising they fail to notice the obvious reality.

So Port Harcourt's Intl Airport built in the 1980's was built solely to service Igbo's travelling oversea for business. What happened to Rivers indigenes, Niger Delta Indigenes and the huge expatriate community in Rivers state.

Sorry to disappoint you but PH Airport doesn't have flights to Malaysia, Indonesia and China.

You can't try and change the point, the point was about Lufthansa and Air France, and before Virgin Atlantic, major international carriers.

Look at the places Lufthansa flies to, major cities, mostly capitals and they still took time to link Abuja with PH, why? Ndi Igbo. This flight should be taken to AIIA.

Igbo people should demand for 1. The Enugu-Aba / Enugu-Onitsha road to be fixed, and then 2. demand that the Lufthansa and Air France stopover flights heading to the Niger Delta because of Igbo people's village migration be rerouted to AIIA.

AIIA can only get a good start with these two things.

Some of you Igbo's are in dire need of a checkup. So Amaechi should prioritise that village airport in Enugu over Port Harcourt's International Airport. Does Enugu even need an airport cos I really doubt if the Air traffic in AIIA is up to the one in Port Harcourt's Airforce base before you compare with the one at Omagwa.

It is even shameful you guys are giving credit to Your criminal sister Oduah who constructed a failed project that couldn't last weeks and now want Amaechi to help correct it. Sorry Bruh, but you guys have to wait till we have such excess funds cos now funds are limited.

Hotels around Port Harcourt are full from wall-to-wall during Christmas, why? Because Imo and Abia people are stopping over before driving to their village. Port Harcourt has been the main Igbo stop-off for village, whether from domestic or international, those Lufthansa and Air France flights stopping over from Abuja are the property of the overseas Igbo, they were made for Igbo people, the only reason PH has international flights is because of Igbo people, and these European connect flights don't go to the north so it's very specifically because of Igbo people, and the only other airport in the east that receives international flights is Enugu, surprise, surprise. Ikwerre, Ijo and other people in the east cannot fund Luthansa's and Air Frances extra jet fuel expenses for that short trip, these people have researched the Igbo migration which is one of the biggest and most important in Africa outside of Islamic pilgrimage, they know that Igbo people make up a huge chunk of Abuja / Lagos traffic and they've studied the journey their passengers make after they deplane, they will do this because these companies see huge spikes in revenue on their books every Christmas because of Igbo people. All that needs to happen is rerouting to the closer AIIA and fixing the road and then ndi Anambra, Enugu and Ebonyi overseas will join and will stop using Benin-Ore route and good bye PH. That's all.

In fact, somebody reading this who has power should go and shop AIIA to France and Germany, since Europeans pull the money and political strings in the end.

Do u remember how the Nigeria Army went out of their way to murder a young man for sitting at home.

That is the type of barbaric military we have in Nigeria .

Nobody is that dumb, Nigeria is not a country that does well with agitation and everybody knows from MASSOB that the army has no problem massacring people in large numbers especially in eastern Nigeria. Nnamdi Kanu and the upper guard of IPOB know / knew that when leading youths into this agitation.

If you compare what is going on in Nigeria as a whole to the rest of the world, the work that it would take to get to a level of a Balkan state or war-torn Ukraine let alone Germany seems so exhausting to the point where it looks like it's even impossible.

All I see is desertification. Must not know that herdsmen activity is related to a very close and growing Sahara. Look at examples of New Zealand and California. I know anything is better than nothing, but cinder block building in the middle of the village is what is being used to impress? In 2018?

People might say this is a pessimistic view, but when you look at these things from a global viewpoint, which is what I hope people will start to do at some point, you're comparing cinder block buildings with projects like maglev and HS2 in Europe. It's hard to look at some things and ohh and ahh. Just a point.

Also, how is anybody convinced that the impact of oil politics wouldn't have caused their own group to became individualistic, it is not a coincidence that most of the Igbo groups shrugging off the larger Igbo body are in oil (well) rich areas, what would have happened if Owerri for example was zoned into Rivers State like Etche (who have people who now strongly deny Igbo relation) and had many oil wells? Would Uratta have become an "ethnic nationality" of Nigeria. Nobody knows.

In an older thread I stated that all that (wasted) energy Nnamdi Kanu and IPOB spent on convincing nobody that Ijo, Igala (who are partly muslim by the way who IPOB hate), Nupe, ndi Timbuktu etc were part of an unrealistic Biafra could have been spent on honing Igbo political and cultural unity. At the very least that would have given some sense as to which nation 'Biafra' actually would consist of. Instead, the energy was being spent chasing a mirage mini-Nigeria, Nigeria 2.0 with Igbo as the majority.

People talking about Ikwerre and others may be surprised if they find out how much that anti-Igboness comes from pure ignorance, as in, a complete lack of knowledge of history, or miseducation, rather than pure hate or some strategy. Sorry to say, but one thing anybody should observe is that people in Nigeria don't know anything worth knowing outside of some particular thing they studied in school for a career. Some of these Ikwerre people truly in their heart of hearts believe they have nothing to do with the Igbo people and that the Igbo people are the cause of all their problems because that was what they have been taught right from birth.

The dislike or hate or distrust other eastern groups (usually outside of Akwacross) have for Igbo people is that in this ethnocentric Nigerian tripod set-up, they believe that the third leg of the tripod that the Igbo people hold is up for grabs and they all think it should be theirs because of the political state of Igbo people after the war. It's just self preservation in this jungle country but some people are still out here doing "Biafra" of 1968. Biafra would be a disaster, repeat, a Biafra 'reinstated' as it was in 1968 would be a disaster for Igbo people, as it had already proved to have been.

You guys are acting unnecessarily paranoid. Lets even assume in the worst case scenario that they are building the solar plant with loan and not a foreign direct investment, and so what? Is the supposed plant not going to be built in the state?? A plant that will employ citizens of the state and pay tax to the state government is what you guys are condemning yet Buhari is busy borrowing billions of dollars to pay salaries annually, I mean SALARY!!!
Borrowing money is not completely wrong especially when it is used for capital projects that would generate money when completed but borrowing money to finance recurrent expenditure as Buhari is doing is evil and wicked, and that is what you all should be raising alarm on!!
This is a welcome development (even if its through a loan facility) at best, the state will pay it off in due time while at worst, if it isn't capable of doing so, the Chinese partners would take control of it, so, heads or tail, the company will still be in Ebonyi, and would continue to contribute to the economy.

This is how you will build Biafra? Defaulted loans so what? LOL. Please go and take a look at what China is doing in other countries. This is part of a bigger picture where they take over land and assets with defaulted loans, part of the trade route their building. This is almost the same as what the European colonialists did and there were people like you then who were also giving them land and saying so what.

Such ignorance. grin
The Aros were traders and slavers, hardly a euphemism for anything hegemonic.
You're ignorant about the Nris, as your reply clearly shows.

The British installed warrant chiefs for Igbo's, as there was no known or visible leadership structure they could use to administer Igbo land. Is that not a fact?
Maybe you are not aware there were no kingdoms or monarchies in Igbo land?
The Aros operated mostly among the Southern Igbo clans and didn't have the spread or reach to be considered an expansionist force.

Nsibidi was not Igbo and was never used by the Igbo's as a system of writing, if you have any precolonial documents written in Nsibidi, I'd be glad to see them.

The British met existing bureaucracies, courts, armies and dynasties when they arrived in Oyo, Bini and Fulani territories. Just read up on indirect rule OK?

I understand your ethnic pride is at stake, but historical facts cannot be changed.
You need to go back and study your history, you came off sounding ignorant.

What you're using is Igbo history and culture 101, many people hear 'Igbo had no king(s)' and mistake that with 'Igbo had no leadership.' The warrant chiefs you're talking about was superimposed on an already existing leadership structure based on paternal lineage. Many if not most warrant chiefs were chosen by prominent members (leaders) of the community, it's just that they later abused the power with British consent.

You see, what the Aro did was more intricate and calculating than simply raising an army and invading a whole territory, they created a trade / slave trade network where they installed their sympathetic agents in communities, their hegemony isn't in question because many Igbo communities can talk of the political, religious, and especially economic hegemony of Aro people. Aro people not expansionist? When they went all the way to present Enugu city!

All of this talk talk is even pointless in the case of Igbo participation in politics in Nigeria today, the reason for the good or bad status today is because of firstly the colonial setup where Fulani are firmly the chosen, and two the war. Before the war, Igbo people dominated the Nigerian army.

Oga i finally saw the youtube video you sent and the following were obvious:
1. The speaker is another European speaker pushing and magnifying Caucasian theories of white superiority.
2. He admitted that Africa has a much longer human evolution evidence yet turned around to claim human species originated from Asia. However, credible evidence and studies established Africa is the cradle of the human race and civilization.
3.I saw how he failed to mention the Moors who were the Black nobility who ruled much of the known world in pre-historic times.
4. Much of his hypothesis were based on findings and theories generated in the 18th century whereas Nri civilization dated to 6th century and even long before then.
5.The video you referred me to failed to address the issue under discussion.I expected to watch a frontal rebuttal of Igbo-Hebraic hypothesis. Nothing of such was mentioned which further cast a long shadow of doubt on your credibility for such studies and further discussion on this matter.
6. Again, studies establishing Igbo-Hebrew links were even championed by Jewish and European Scholars. Refer to Jeff Liberman's documentary "Re-Emerging:The Jews of Nigeria. North Eastern University Professor William F.S. Miles published a book titled "The Jews of Nigeria:An Afro-Judaic Odyssey. A Swiss Jewish studies Professor,Daniel Lis,published a book in 2013 titled "A book on Nigerian Jews".
7.CNN did a major story on the “Nigeria’s Igbo Jews:’Lost Tribe’ of Israel?” In that program, it quoted Prof. Daniel Lis. “Daniel Lis, from the Institute for Jewish Studies, University of Basel, Switzerland, is one of the foremost researchers on Jewish identification among the Igbo. He says there has been a clear continuity of Jewish identity among the Igbo. It’s not just something that happened yesterday.
8. Finally, all these wouldn’t make much meaning if the wooden stool in Nri, which is considered as the cradle of much of the Igbo stock does not exist, more so existing in the said location before Igbos made any contact with outsiders. The wooden stool is said to be made from a wood whose tree only exists or grows in the city of Jerusalem. This appears to be one of the most compelling pieces of evidence of Igbo Jewish heritage that ignited former Israeli Prime Minister Yitzhak Rabin to send delegates to Igboland in search of “Eri” with the purpose of establishing this fact. The research in this regard is still on but to what extent can one think of Igbos having Jewish origin or the possibility of Jews springing out from Igbos still rages.

Please note: i approach the above studies purely from an academic point of view all and a bid to make sense of both the forgotten and prevailing Igbo traditions, culture and mores which appear symbiotic with past and contemporary Jewish traditions. Again, this neither for polemics nor fruitless debate.Let us enrich the discussion the best way we can.

If you're saying he claimed humans originated in Asia it means you didn't listen to what he said properly. The Moors, who were Arabs that enslaved black Africans, have nothing to do with the discussion, so why would they be brought up in a Ted talk with limited time? No credible scholar, of whatever background, subscribes to the Igbo Hebrew theory, yes, white people can write nonsense books as well you know and many of those books are not even a defence of the Igbo Hebrew theory, rather a documentary on it, similar to how somebody would write a book about the Amish in America. Where is this wooden Israeli stool and who figured out it was from an Israeli tree?

The issue was very simple. (1) What are your theories and hypothesis of Igbo origin?. (2)Both gentlemen you mentioned above are reputable scholars who advanced differing viewpoints on the subject matter. (4) How come Igbo customs and Omenana are the only ones that are exclusively Hebraic? (5) Scholars are people with open minds and not given to emotional outbursts and passive dismissal of opposing views without giving alternative facts.(5) For the benefit of all and sundry, kindly lead the discussion on Igbo history here.(6) Lest I forget, your assertion about Aguleri/Umuleri above was laughable at most. In as much as I accept my Igboness as an Anioma person, I can't also deny the strong Benin Royal influence on every single community in Anioma and Onitsha. When Sypder880 posted the pics of the gateway to Issele Uku ( Oligbo Kingdom ), one could easily notice the small statue of the famous Benin Qween Idah Mask at the centre of the gate. Have you also noticed the Benin royal swords held by the Obis of the various communities in Anioma? The Obi of Issele Uku, as well the Obis of other Anioma communities cannot be crowned without the presence of the Oba of Benin himself or his representative from the Oba's palace. I have come to respect this strong Benin influence because, there is absolutely nothing I can do to change it. These Royal practices in Anioma are the major reasons why some people claim Benin ancestry. Apart from the Royal practices, every other cultural practice in Anioma is Igbocentric, from the new yam festival to speaking of the Igbo language, bearing Igbo names, placing of feathers on the red Caps of the Chiefs and elders, observing the 4 market days, OSU cast system, even the old and diabolic practice of making women suffer for their husbands' death was also practiced in Anioma among many others. These are also the reasons why there are some Igbocentric Anioma sons and daughters

That mask became famous later, most people at the time it was made wouldn't have seen it, it was an accessory, although in some Anioma towns it seems they had the statue of the Oba of Benin in their shrines in the past.

Oga I've seen how you been up and about casting aspersions on the Gad/Eri hypothesis of Igbo origin. There are tangible and oral evidence to support it and there are also many practical reasons to believe it too. The Igbo/Jewsish links was even acknowledged by foreigners including English and Portuguese historians. Start by reading up G.T Basden's works "Among the Ibos of Nigeria" (Note: I attached the picture of the book for you). There are others I will recommend if you wish to study more. Let ask,how many books on Igbo history and Origin have you read? Mention them so we can do a little history class here for the benefit of our brothers and sisters. Don't just grumpily wave off any and everything that failed to suit your mold. Igbo core Omenani(customs and traditions) are Hebraic. Most root words in Igbo have same consonance and meaning as Hebrews. Again, this is an area of study many Igbo scholars this day are devoting their time and efforts to unravel these connections. There are lots we do not know that was lost to antiquity. This is an area of study worth delving into. Check these two names on facebook and follow their view with an open mind: Remy Ilona and Emeka Maduewesi. Also join this group on facebook:Omenala/Omenana(Igbo Culture) Defenders. All these are pointing to the imminent Igbo rennaisance. We leave nothing to chance and we assume nothing until there are ample proof to establish fact(s). Again,i presume you are worthy of response and responsible enough, just only misguided, given to how you waved the first statement aside. Just keep an open mind and quit acting trashy. Ndewo.
