Career / Re: 4 Bullets For Effective Monetization Of Your Talent Career by EzePromoe: 7:41am On Nov 07, 2017
What you said is the Gospel truth! I remember when I left secondary newly, as a keyboardist, I had passion for the piano and being a novice back then, I rendered free services to my church because I had to as a "good Christian who had to do things for God." I derived joy and satisfaction not until that same church I'd given my all to went and hired a "professional" (mark the words in quote, he wasn't as good as I was) who knew next to nothing about the music both in theories and practice. All he knew was to play on the basic major and minor chords and he didn't even know how to play without transposing (instrumentalists will understand very well). Due to my zeal (and of course, naivety), I did most of the playing and at the end of the month, he takes the salary. This continued until I got admission in the university and got exposed to a similar topic as this then I got to know how foolish I'd been. But not just that I got to know how valuable I was an asset to my home church. They kept calling one after another pledging to give me transportation to and from school but little did they know that I've become exposed and I'd packaged my talent and given it an icing. Throughout my days in school, I was never broke, I was getting paid in a church not too far from school coupled with allowances from parents.
It's all about packaging! If you play your game well, your talent will open doors for you. Don't get me wrong! It's good to work for God because it comes with a lot of blessing but think about it for a moment: That pastor in your church, does he earn salary? Why is he not doing it free, since it is assumed that he's working for God.
Same applies to other fields of profession.
In a nutshell, BE WISE!

Anambra setting the pace in everything. Sometimes I wonder if the NL Yorubas are really Yorubas. They are giving bad names to the genuine ones in the South West. They called us illiterates for running from the army's death vaccines but to their utter shame and embarrassment, their highly educated and sophisticated brothers are running from the same vaccines they wanted us to receive. So Nnamdi Kanu's influence stretches to the shores of Yorubaland and he must have also brainwashed the South Westerners I guess. You guys shouldn't argue this 'fact' at all because you guys said same thing of Anambrans.

Shame and embarrassment has surely fallen on BMC crew! tongue

Education / Re: 2017 Scientific Discoveries That Will Surprise The World by EzePromoe: 8:11am On Sep 07, 2017
2017 SCIENTIFIC
DISCOVERIES THAT
SHOOK THE WORLD
There are no limitations with
science as everything is possible
if only we are able enough to tap
into the power of our minds.
There are several discoveries
which have changed the world
but then more discoveries are
coming that are likely going to
shake the world to its
foundations and this article will
discuss some of them in details.

1. Designer babies:
Have you ever thought of having
babies with your own
specifications? With this
discovery and technology, you
can have babies’ custom made
for you. You or your wife will
not have to go through the pains
associated with pregnancies or
even deliveries. All you will need
to do is to visit the hospital,
donate your sperm and egg and
come back after nine months for
your custom made baby. This is
also known as IVF (In-vitro
Fertilization).
Just consider this as ordering an
electronic gadget with your own
specification such as the baby’s
intelligence, temperament, eye
color, height, skin color and even
hair color.

2. Death will be an option:
In case you haven’t heard, there
is an ongoing research at the
Google anti-aging research to
make Larry Page and Sergey
Brin immortal.
According to some scientists, this
research will not be finished on
time to make these men
immortal. Scientists at National
Academy of Medicine’s Grand
Challenge in Healthy Longevity
has earmarked at least $25
million for this process.

3. Windows will double as
solar panels

The demand for a safe and
environmentally friendly energy
source is on the increase and very
soon, windows will also double as
solar panels. The Dutch bank has
been outfitted with fully transparent
solar power generating windows to
generate power. The windows will
come with solar cells installed on
the edges and at specific angles to
allow the incoming solar rays to be
captured and converted into
electricity. According to the CEO of
Physee, the company in-charge of
making these windows affirms that
these windows will help in
producing the energy to be used by
these houses.

4. Cars will get artificial
intelligence

Our dream of cars driving
themselves will soon become a
reality as Apple boss has
announced that cars will soon
get Artificial intelligence which
means, our cars will act as
robots, we can send them on
errands to pick up the kids from
school, drive us to our
destination as we sleep on the
owners corner and many more.

5. Sex dolls will take over the
brothels

With the rate at which people
are going wild for sex and sexual
relationships, sex dolls will take
over the brothels in every city
and they will even be placed on
rent basis. Real sex dolls such as
Samantha and the likes are
already in the market and we
are still hoping to see the male
version.

The truth is that Nigeria has lost its and that "giant of Africa" factor that gave her the respect from other African nations. Legal system my black dry a$$! Can Mexico cease cash belonging to the U.S? Can Austria cease cash belonging to Germany? Could a 1994 South African government have been able to cease cash belonging to the Nigerian government of same 1994? Those Mzansis know that we don't have credible leaders and that cash will definitely end up in the pockets of some cabals, thus they want to beat us to it like the 2-0 scoreline in Uyo.

Once again, Legal System my a$$!
Tell your lies to the birds!

IPOB and fear are like 5 and 6 grin grin grin grin grin tongue

Obviously you didn't read the news in details. It's the Northerners that are falling over one another to appeal to the Igbos to disregard the rhetoric of the Arewa youths (more like subtly begging us for forgiveness). From El-Rufai to NGF chairman to Northern CAN to Federal Government! Your elders just realized that the North will be an urban desert without Igbos and your youth leaders scored an own goal by asking Igbos out. Look at how they're rubbishing a fellow relevant Northern group because they stepped on the toes of Great Igbo race. Respect the Igbos because your escape from poverty and almajirism depends on it.

Wow, My alma mater just got even more beautiful and greener. About UNIPORT being an entrepreneurial school is no hearsay but fact. GES300 (Fundamentals of Entrepreneurship) is a compulsory course all students are made to offer and also frequently, free entrepreneurship seminars are organized to tutor students on entrepreneurship. Any UNIPORT graduate who is carrying files about looking for job probably didn't attend lectures during his/her days as undergraduate

RedboneSmith:

"Atukatagom anya gi" is more like "I have been expecting you" than "I miss you", isn't it?
Yeah. Both English phrases are almost synonymous to one another though.
Culture / Re: Igbo learning thread + Translator by EzePromoe: 6:51pm On Mar 11, 2017
ChinenyeN:
Ezepromoe, we translate that by using our word for nostalgia and longing. I'd like to believe that other Igbo speech forms also have words or expressions for nostalgia and longing. Using those expressions, they should be able to express the sentence "I miss you".

I believe I've seen agwa somewhere either for some other dialects or for Izugbe. So, using agwa, someone could say "agwa gi na-ama m". I'm sure each dialect region may have an expression of their own for nostalgia or longing. If they use it in a similar way, they can all create the "I miss you" sentence.
"Agwa gi na-ama m" looks cool though I wasn't expecting it from that angle. But whichever dialect has a literal translation to that should be adapted. That's how languages are developed centerally. Chrysler's translation, "atukatagom anya gi" seems perfect to me.
