CrudeGold:I'm glad you respect me. At least your insult means nothing to me, especially now viewing your profile has confirmed it that you are one of those nuisances supporting a contestant whom I won't mention because it isn't in my nature to get even with people like you by taking it on the contestant they support. I've been watching your actions on this thread how you've been trying very hard to ignite war between team Refiner and team Ivyy though you belong to neither of them. After a terrible failure, you're now trying to drag me to fight it dirty with you. An alternate moniker? No, I think repogirl was right. Giving you the response all these while wasn't worth it at all. 1 Like |

Dygeasy:I was talking about your submission made on the saga on a thread by title, "Seun, do you now support plagiarism" (The thread is hidden, I can't access it). You said something like you were disappointed in her team, though you also added that it isn't enough reason for her to be disqualified. Using the word "disappointed" passed her off as someone who committed a crime. But like I stated, yours has been the least critical, so no cause for alarm. |

Romance / Ivyy Is Not Guilty Of Plagiarism by EzePromoe: 11:26am On Jun 16, 2016 |
It seems there is a trending issue (which in reality isn't an issue at all) which has been gearing it's head to fulfil it's aim, which is to distract attention from the main aim of this contest. Yesterday, one of the famous Miss NL contestants, called Ivyy was accused of plagiarism. Though accusation holds no water but surprisingly, this has been made more than just an issue but an overstretching one. Seeing this as no issue, it would have been wise letting this slide but the fact that Seun suggested a disqualification and Dygeasy passing her off as a disappointment though not in critical term (more like indirectly) unsettles me. Before I continue, I want you to know that I do not belong to Ivyy's campaign team. You can refer to my siggy for more details. Actually, the said plagiarized quote was made by the country's CBN governor, not even a fellow contestant or a fellow NLder. Here is the article in quote, In the developed nation’s when currencies are devalued, it is to encourage exports, because the prices of local products serve as an incentive and a toast for foreign buyers. In the process, they earn foreign exchange, increase production and create additional jobs. Unfortunately, that is not the position with Nigeria. In my opinion, Emefiele's idea of devaluation is that the cause it is intended to serve is not feasible with a country like Nigeria as it is the case for developed countries. Conversely, Ivyy is asked if this devaluation is a step in the right direction for Nigeria, and she answers; Ideally, devaluing the naira is to encourage exports, because the prices of local products serve as an incentive and a toast for foreign buyers. In the process, we earn foreign exchange, increase production and create additional jobs. Unfortunately, that is not the position with Nigeria as we are an import dependent country. Just today, there was a tactical devaluation of our currency leaving a free floating naira and this should be advantageous to the economy in the long run. Obviously, we can all see that Ivyy was saying almost the opposite of what Emefiele said (with emphasis on the underlined). It is only those with low IQ that will still go on castigating her as a plagiarist because to them, the English word "incentive" is too posh to be used by anyone. What if I'm asked to issue a statement on the aftermath effect of the pipeline vandalism going on in the Niger Delta, and I give the answer anyone would give that "it would lower our export output, and will have a long time negative effect on the average Niger Deltan agricultural life", if this coincidentally happens to be what Lai Mohammed had said earlier without me seeing it, does that pass me off as a plagiarist? Instead of making a mountain out of a mole, why not concentrate your minds on other salient points she raised during her interview. For me, here is her most captivating piece. In my opinion presiding over a country goes beyond having a 'certificate' (which is paramount by the way), it has to do with understanding the way a country works, the driving force of a typical Nigerian on the streets, the working structure already existing. Of course, having a certificate is a prerequisite for becoming a president, but it should not be the deciding factor on the leadership capabilities, economically soundness and emotional clearness needed for a leader of a great nation such as Nigeria. Robert Mugabe is currently the world's most educated president while Abraham Lincoln is one American least educated president. Between the two of them, who would you rather have govern Nigeria right now? 2 Likes

Romance / Re: Seun Do You Now Support Plagiarism? by EzePromoe: 9:18am On Jun 16, 2016 |
Seun:Actually there isn't any plagiarist here. She didn't lift the whole idea but added it to her own. Her only mistake was not giving credit where due, and it could have been an inadvertent omission. It would have been plagiarism if she had aggressively own up to the statement which isn't hers. What the buster could have done was to pressure to admit that it wasn't hers, if she then insisted then it's an offence. So far Ivyy has said nothing, it could be her way of admitting the fact. 1 Like |

I don't know why this issue is being over flogged. Last time I checked, Ivyy didn't answer just one question, she answered other questions intelligently as well. I don't see any wrong in borrowing ideas to add substance to your post. What exactly do you call plagiarism? A three line comment? You guys should just grow up. I don't see anything so spectacular or captivating about the said borrowed line that will warrant this noise. Anybody can come up with that without having to do much brainstorming, and it becomes what it should be called. Coincidence? Meanwhile, join us by 5:45pm to get the best of the mystic lady. jboy73:Well, It's not like we don't value your vote like some guy said but this thread has been dragged on for too long and it has interfered in our schedules. I personally I've never found the time to take part in previous campaigns due to tight schedules but this year, the month of May was free for me and my projection was that the contest as others will get done in the Month of May but alas, we're running into mid June yet nothing. Some of these contestants are students and I believe this is their exam period. You won't expect them to always keep tab on some contest that seems like It's headed nowhere. Well, there are other contestants and your role is to access them and make your judgement, not actually settling with the noisiest. But if you still want to be wooed, then It's Okay. Just add MYSTICGAL to your list. |

KingCheezyPuff:I know what you're driving at, but trust me, it's way beyond this contest. Generally, Nairaland has degenerated into a gossip site, and has wholly affected the quality of contents in it. But if we're to talk of the contest, the best I define as "the most efficient of all, in beauty/handsomeness, in wits, in discretion and every other positivity. Do you know that most of those contestants were diasporans, e.g lucenzo, 2legit2qwt, CFCfan, Beennkumar etc. Have you asked why the diasporans are no longer finding this attractive even with the attached prize. It's simple, NLders in general should grow up. |

Romance / Re: Who Should I Vote For And Why by EzePromoe: 11:17am On May 26, 2016 |
You can vote more than one contestant until you get to the finals. But MYSTICGAL should be your first choice. Why? Because she's got an impressive character. She's got a fine mix of Beauty and Brains. These nine traits of Mysticgal will make you like her as a person: 1. MATURITY: Most of you may not know Mysticgal but from my encounter with her, you can confide in me when I tell you that she's matured and sensible. She knows what she wants in life and she holds on to it like a life support but from my encounter with her, she's not willing to risk her reputation of all things. There was this thread about analyzing the MissNL contestants where she was set aside for character defamation, she of all contestants was rated the lowest. I would have pummeled the OP if not for her calling me to order. #TeamMimzy and #TeamLanicky will agree with me that it is difficult to let that kind of insult slide, but Mysticgal 's maturity comes to the rescue of the OP. She's the kind of person who love kids and still has the passion to get an institute for catering for them. 2. YOUTHFUL: You would want to think that I'm mistaken somewhere placing youthfulness and maturity, two distinct words as one person's attribute. Think no further, love. Now, you'll agree with me that on this forum, we have childish adults as many as matured youngsters. The mystic lady belongs to the latter. As I've talked about her maturity, perhaps you may have thought of a lady who is about to clock thirty. Far from that, sweety. You'll be amazed that she's very young yet a very composed lady. Just like any young person, she has potentials of becoming a worthwhile queen if voted for. You'll agree with me that the queen has to be young and Mysticgal is the perfect match. 3. STYLISH: Few days ago, one of the mystic lady's critics threw a jibe at her that she was someone who's always applying make -up to complement her looks. Then I asked him this simple question, "what's beauty without style?", and he couldn't speak further. People should know how to contrast and fine-tune beauty from fineface (you know what I mean ). Mysticgal is beautiful from the crown of her head to the sole of her feet, which is complemented by her amazing dress sense. Despise the noise currently going on, you'll see beyond what others see. That is the meaning of "mystical" 4. TOLERANT: Now let's get a bit personal. I took my time to ask her to what extent she could go in tolerating jerks, and from the reply she gave, she pretty looks like someone who'll serve her boyfriend's side chick dinner without hard feeling (I don't know if she has one ). Jokes aside, I can attest to this traits because I know that 90% of NL ladies will fail the test I gave her. Despite the insults thrown at her by misogynists, who've taken over the forum, she remains calm and reserved. You'll never see her engage in e-war or gender battles. Her silence is her gold 5. INTELLIGENT: This attribute is not so common amongst many ladies but Mysticgal stands out here. You can check her records and see for yourselves, she has made a lot of contribution to the literature section, then to the Romance, Celebrity and Fashion sections. She's not the type of female Nairalander who wants to achieve e-popularity by any means possible thereby churning useless posts and threads. She's got a high IQ, many chaps from the literature session can attest to this fact. She played a major role in guiding me when I was writing my first story on Nairaland. Hers will definitely be a blockbuster if she finally releases hers. I know that you can't wait to see the stuff she's made of. Just vote her to get to the finals, then you'll be happy you did so. 6. CHARISMATIC: She is naturally likable, and exerts positive influence on her admirers without any word or action, and you wonder why she is called mystical? She is the kind of person that will mutter a wish, and many miles away will hear it, and battle themselves to grant the wish. She is naturally born a leader. Leader? How? I'll tell you. Do you know that she is a course rep in her school and simultaneously presiding a campus fellowship? That's who a queen should be, a leader! She isn't giving up her aspiration into the SUG. A tall dream, you may think but for someone who has foresight, it's a goal to meet. 7. GORGEOUS: Phew....... What haven't I said already? Mysticgal is very beautiful from head to toe, on any hairstyle, cut or plait. She's not just a fineface, amazing skin color, charming smile, elegant in every sense of it. You're welcome to ask for evidence! 8. ASTUTE: She has a good sense of judgement but not judgemental in her approach. Check her out in the literature section where she gives constructive criticism. In the fashion section, she proffers helpful recommendations and advices. It's not a coincidence, that's what she is accustomed to. 9. LEARNED: She is learned. A student of law she is and you'll agree with me that there's hardly a moment you'll come across an unlearned law student. At least if not for anything, they've got that intimidating wide knowledge, and they're the most valued and paid professionals after doctors. My opinion. Mysticgal's knowledge of the world will blow your mind, just vote her to get to the grand finale and watch how she'll tackle the teasers. Dear Nairalanders, we know that convincing you with this article is hardly enough to sway you from your favourite contestants. But the good news here is that you don't have to do all that for Mysticgal. You can still vote her through to the grand finale alongside your favourite contestants. You'll be grateful you did so. VOTE MYSTICGAL FOR MISS NAIRALAND 2016! 3 Likes 2 Shares
