naijamini:Do not act like you don't know. Every social ill or crime in Nigeria is blame on the Ndigbo. Just look at these threads and you will see the level of hate that the Igbo receives. I hate the term that people say that we are the Jews of Africa, but I can see why now. All hate yet we still shine. We suffered genocidal acts and we are still here and thriving. Every Igbo child born is a smack in the face of the people who hate us. And we Igbos do not hate anyone except for the saboteurs but that is left for another day. |
Now this is one aspect of Islam that I respect. The burial process should be emulated among other religions. Nice and simple. I actually support the Spartan lifestyle. |
SEFAGO:SeFAGo, if you don't like the thread, then comment on it. ![]() |
006:That is what the weak does, they bash people who in no way has anything to do with the oppression. Last time I checked, the Igbo are far from power, but get the most hate. Really sickening if you ask me. |
Igbos are not appreciated by Nigeria – Uwechue By Vincent UJUMADU, Awka PRESIDENT–General of Ohaneze Ndigbo, Chief Ralph Uwechue said yesterday in Awka that Igbos have not enjoyed better understanding and demonstrable appreciation from their fellow Nigerians on their role as nation builders and committed custodians of Nigerian unity despite their rich sacrifices to the growth of the country. In a paper titled “The Role of Ndigbo in Nigeria’s Socio-political and Economic Development” at the 2010 Faculty of Arts conference of Nnamdi Azikiwe University, Uwechue observed that Igbos have given a great deal and are still giving, for the sustenance of the Nigeria project, adding that they deserve better treatment than they are getting. “Igbos played and are still playing a leading role in the promotion of national integration. Today, there are several millions of Igbo people living, working and helping to develop significantly parts of Nigeria outside Igboland. They are in remote villages and towns nationwide and in commercial cities which shows their belief and commitment to Pan –Nigerian nationhood. For the Igbos, anywhere in Nigeria is home.” “Sometimes, too much is being simplistically made of the random appointment of talented Igbo technocrats to high profile positions, where demonstrable competence is usually required to tackle certain specific and difficult national tasks. What has been critically absent for decades and still missing today, is fair and effective Igbo participation in the national decision –making process, which is entirely political. “It is therefore clear that since the British colonial administration put together this vast country, the evident role of Igbo people in the political, economic and social history of Nigeria has been that of bridge builders and nation builders. The Igbo political role in Nigeria has been consistent in the pursuit of national unity and inter –ethnic cooperation,” Uwechue said. He observed that despite the contributions of the Igbos to national unity, there is the feeling that, as a people, Igbos are deliberately being sidelined, especially in the sphere of political leadership of the country, regretting that no Igbo person has been deemed suitable to be put at the helm of affairs at the apex management position in Nigeria. http://www.vanguardngr.com/2010/05/08/igbos-are-not-appreciated-by-nigeria-uwechue/ |
Lagos is cheap, but maybe my dollar conversions is why I say that. ![]() |
It will be an Igbo man. Watch the surprise. lol ![]() |
Too much!!! |
And I care because? It is not like the UK is America. |
Now that Yaradua is off the way, Jonathan should hasten and divide that yeye country before another alamajeri general show his ugly face. This kind of opportunity comes only in fifty years; and Jonathan should beware of the Ota ape!
hehehehe I was thinking that, but not voicing it. Thanks you for clearly articulating that. ![]() |
Pat Utomi should become president. The man has a vision for Nigeria. |
An Aristocratic Fulani, these people are very cultured. Compared to other groups in Africa, I really do look up to them in a way. If you ever came across a Fulani, their command and presence is something to remember. And I am an Igbo man saying this. No other group besides the Tuareg of Maasai command that much respect in my opinion. |
Abagworo:I really enjoyed reading this quote. This is what I believe needs to happen in Alaigbo. The roads are horrible and the lack of development in the South-East is deplorable. Sometimes I blame Igbos for not staying in our own land to rebuild our homeland. So if they suffer persecution in other parts of the country, they get no pity from me. None whatsoever. ![]() |
buchio7:You see some people cannot keep Ojukwu's name out their mouth. This is what makes me angry with these people, they continue to bring up Ojukwu even though he does not have anything to do with the topic at hand. The fool needs to sit down. |
for God sake.when will you do away with your tribalist cowadice.jonathan is the president of nigeria and he doesnt need to run from anybody.he's not a fugitive like ojukwu.ode
Hush! There was nothing tribalist about my post. He has to be careful when travelling in the North so get your head from out the sand and understand that Nigeria is not a safe place. When you have youth in Kano walking around with machetes and clubs and you think it is safe for Goodluck Jonathan to go up North so soon? Frankly, he has to be careful wherever he resides, due to the fact that many people want to get to the top job. |
If I was Goodluck Jonathan, I would stay far away from the North as possible. Maybe he should come back to Port Harcourt or some other southern city, until the north cools off. Abuja is not that far from the north. ![]() |
I know Yar'Adua's mother is cursing Turai and the rest of the Northern Cabal. The man was used like a chess piece and that is what is truly sad about this situation. He should of stayed a teacher at Katsina. |
naijaking1:Did he speak out against Sharia being implemented by politicians in the North? If he didn't, then he is just saying words and we cannot go by words alone. ![]() |
udezue:Just respect for the dead. I feel this is a opportunity for all southerners. Let us get rid of this zoning agreement and let only qualified people run for the top spot. |
I prefer southerner. Let it be an all southern ticket. Sorry but I feel the north is way too backwards to lead the nation. Anyone who is in support of Sharia Law should not be allowed to President nor Vice President. |
Why does the VP have to be from the north? I wouldn't mind if the VP was from a qualified southerner Yoruba or Igbo or even a qualified middle belt person. ![]() I am disgusted by this zoning agreement. The most qualified individual should be the one given a chance. |
I throw my complete support behind Goodluck Jonathan. That being said, what would you support. A benevolent tyranny that is improving our economy, giving us security and better infrastructure or a democracy that does not provide such? |
Maybe it is time for us Igbos and Yorubas to unite. This is not a tribalistic post, but it is high time that we start working together for a more progressive Nigeria. I think my people are willing to give an olive branch. It is our time to cease the opportunity and allow progress to reign. |
I think this is going to be a fight to the finish. It is going to be crazy! Goodluck Jonathan is going to fight to keep the presidency now. |
I will take a break from my tribalistic posting to mourn the death of President Yar'Adua. May he rest in preace. However, what does the nation do now. This will be interesting to watch. I hope nothing bad happens though |
Chai!!! I feel sorry for him and his family. Especially his mother. |
dominique:Remember how your foolish people started rioting when Akintola's resignation in May 1962 sparked bloody rioting in the Western Region and brought effective government to an end as rival legislators, following the example in the streets, introduced violence to the floor of the regional legislature. The federal government declared a state of emergency, dissolved the legislature, and named a federal administrator for the Western Region. And the Northern Region and the former Eastern Region had to watch in horror as your people started killing each other for the do or die politics your people are known for. |
Katsumoto:Hush your mouth fool. Of course you would not understand Ikemba's motives for his support of IBB. Nor do you understand the monster, I mean game of politics. Before you come at me with your nonsense, do some research and understand that the likes of IBB and Abacha were subordinates to Ojukwu when he was the Army commander in Kano that people tend to forget. |
I support anything that would spite the Yoruba and help the Igbo. If IBB diverts funds to Igboland from Yorubaland out of the support we give and the love for his late wife kinsmen, then I support it. Seeing how much the Yoruba hate IBB, I can only wonder if the man might prove valuable to the Igbo. You cannot trust those Yoruba cowards. ![]() |
Watch Yoruba region go up in flames again. Mehn these Yorubas cannot act civil in politics. You can actually blame the Yoruba for Nigerian Civil War. ![]() |
