If you are not from Afikpo u can hardly understand their dialect, Now you are a WASC examiner for Igbo Lang, You are presented with Igbo exam papers from Afikpo written in Afikpo dialect what will you do if you can't read the dialect? Are you going to pass all of them or fail all of them.

Advocates of central Igbo did not tell you to abolish your dialect rather it provides a way to communicate to those ndigbo that don't understand your dialect and you don't understand their's. Its that simple.

Me personally, I don't care about stuff like that. We don't all need to be in the same country. English culture is dominant in America, Canada, UK, Australia, New Zealand. Do they feel an pressing need to merge the countries?
