I'm just curious, and this is for transparency sake. We took back exam slips after writing the test. Are we not supposed to be able to check and verify our results independently as this seemed to be the purpose of us being in possession of the examination slip?

I think this would have been a better approach where people know their scores and can make postulations as regards their fate. This "Nicodemus" calling doesn't look so straight- forward.

P.S: This post is in no way trying to take anything away from those that have been called so far. It is just an opinion.
Christianity EtcRe: How Appealing Is The Promise Of Eternal Life? by ezme(op): 3:31am On May 29, 2013
kliffo: We need to avert our minds to the possibility of other planes of existence outside the concept of heaven and hell in the hereafter. The Igbo concept teaches a form of communal existence that is more or less a contoinuation of relatiopnships and realities one experienced on while alive. Ones position there would depend on how he lived here, his accomplishments and how he was buried. Some of the experiences I have heard seem to lend some level of credence to this.
Are you proposing that there are other planes of existence?

If the affimative, how many of such planes exist?

POST OF THE DAY 28TH MAY, 2013 ON THIS THREAD

Gboliwe: madam cab driver, is your anger coming from the fact I chose to jump a bus rather than patronise your cab? What haven't you done to be so messed up in life? At your age, you should have your children running around and playing with you and not have your heart in your mouth each time the beep of and email or a phone rings. You owe Americans, you owe Europeans, you owe Africans! Are you not ashamed of yourself? People go 'international' for good things but you are a disgrace to your one time husband, your son, your family even your acquaintances. Everybody who has the misfortune of saying 'hi' to you meets badluck. Shame on you.

I prefer jumping my bus and taking life step by step to sleeping with a man whose parents warned me against, for papers.
A man you say is a drug baron is asking you to drop his name yet you hold on tenaciously. How lower can you fall.
Give him back his damn name and stop being a disgrace to Africans!

Christianity EtcRe: Lightning Strikes: Science vs Religion! by ezme(m): 10:07pm On May 24, 2013
Obinoscopy: Lightening strike should not bring conflict between science and religion. This is because a lightening strike could be due to a huge potential difference between the lower base of a negatively charged cloud and a positively charged surface on earth OR it could be due to spiritual intervention.

Most of the lightening strike we witness can be explained scientifically and can be prevented or neutralised with the aid of a lightening rod. But there are few cases of supernatural lightening strikes, such strikes cannot be prevented with all the lightening rods put together.

CarlAllen: As I suspect. He's comments are absolutely ridiculous. Wumi is but 3 or 4 hours away from me, but we need to travel to neutral countries to discuss this? No I think not.

Before I became an animator/special effects artist, before I was a research scientist and attended medical school, I spent 7 years as a Navy Seal, this can be verified by your so called associate known as my wife.

For 7 years all I did was capture people in foreign countries for interrogation, plant plastic explosives, our assassinated my designated targets in foreign countries. These were my only 3 missions for seven long years, I'm not proud of it. I have put that past behind, he does well to consult my wife before he casts these random rants and accusations about me.

I believe that when I come to Africa it will be a peaceful mission to secure my son, but I will not be coming alone.

mercylicious: @ all,
Best of the day.
My cousin got admision in an uni in Norway.
What are the required supporting docs for visa interview.
Interview has been scheduled for month end, what are the likely questns?
I will also appreciate any advise.
Hello Mercylicious
I think should be all

What must you hand in with the application?

Both applicants who register their applications online and those who hand in a paper version need to hand in their passport and other necessary documentation.

If you apply online, you will at the same time book an appointment for handing in your documents to the police or an embassy. You will not have to wait in line when you turn up for your appointment.

If are not applying online you need to contact the embassy to find out when to hand in the documents along with the application form.

When you have visited the embassy or police station and handed in your passport and other necessary documentation we will start to process your application. In addition to the completed application form (online or paper version), you must enclose:

1: a completed application form for a student residence permit
2: a copy of your passport
3: a passport photo/ photo that meets specific requirements
4: a letter of admission from the educational institution containing your name, the study programme you have been admitted to and the duration of your studies
5: documentation of financial maintenance (subsistence), for example in the form of documentation of support from the Norwegian State Educational Loan Fund, a transcript of your bank balance or a confirmation from an educational institution that the money is deposited in its account
6: documentation that you have somewhere to live
7: documentation of paid application fee
8: a translation of the documents into Norwegian or English.

As a rule, it is sufficient that you enclose a copy of the documents with your application, but you must present the original documents when you hand in your application.
See also for better understanding http://www.udi.no/Norwegian-Directorate-of-Immigration/Central-topics/Studies/How-do-I-apply-for-a-residence-permit-for-students/#whatm

P.S: Is your Cousin having an interview or just an appointment to hand in supporting documents?

Is it possible to work and study @ the same time to supplement your stay in Norway?
Is it possible to get work there (in Norway) after finishing your Msc?
What advice do you have to give a poor student wanting to study in Noray?

ezme: In 2011 only those that could document 86% CGPA qualified to enter the second round of applications from Nigeria. I'm not talking got admission, i'm talking got instruction to send transcript for final assessment.
And I went further to tell you this..........

ezme: The only way you would get in is when people with better CGPA don't apply this year. And believe me many people are looking for a way to get around cost of graduate school and Norway is a highly preferred destination. Preliminary application is free, So you should still go ahead and apply anyway.
And you still saw the need to say this

Ezegozie: thanks, but also try hard not to kill somebody's hope.

Telling somebody that 86% Gp is required for second admission process is highly debilitating..

Without even mentioning the school's name or even the course which the high GP is required.

Please we all should be encouraging our coleages not discouraging them with unspecific and vague information
Don't feel bad if nobody responds to you after now. As I can see that you are the fickle-minded individual that craves being given false hope. I thought I was helping but i believe this would be my last response to you. You come off as a very rude and proud person and this attitude will not get help your way. Go fix yourself.

bolaino: you have a valid argument my good man, and in as much as I would like to agree with u on this, my sense of fairness will not let me, it's very rare to see an hip hop artist who does'nt use derogatory words on his/her song, words like nigga, bit.ch, etc, and even rappers like coMmon, talib kweli, mos def, who rap conscious rap often use these words, and it goes to show u that hip hop is something that holds more negative than positive energy,

it's just like saying you support terrorism, but u hate the terrorism that kiLls innocent people, but there is nothing like good terrorism, the essence of terrorism is to cause terror, so it can not be justified, like wise hip hop, hip hop is a culture that promotes all sorts of vices, from getting rich quick to driveby shootings, nudity, profanity etc, so if u support works of some Hip hop artists who u think are not too bad, you inadvetently support hip hop, in general.
In perspective, I appreciate Hip-hop music, I love how the words come together to make actual and implied meaning. Music is an art and with no rigid confines to how who should go about, so when poeple tend to deviate from the default orientation, it calls for concern.

The Nigerian model of democracy seems to be failing but does that make democracy a bad form of government?
Music/RadioRe: [video]: Chyn - Dito Von Tesse by ezme(op): 8:25am On May 17, 2013
bolaino: Mr ezme, on a previous thread, u were very vocal about the negative effects of hip hop/pop culture on our society, but now it seems you have taken a stance on the other side of the fence, I and several other nairalanders have been waiting for the article of yours, but it's not forthcoming, so my question to u is, are you the one to come or should we wait for another?
There is a way of appreciating art without making it dictate your life style. Why I try to appreciate efforts made by individuals to put out something good. I believe a good video, nice word play and good beats is what I actually appreciate. It doesn't make me take to drugs or adopt their lifestyles.

P.S: I believe the people I try to identify with actually make good music and not the mediocre ones.

Ezegozie: @ Ezme, thank You so much for your responses. I think Nigeria need people like you to move forward, not some selfish individual that will like others to help them, and refuse to help others after they are helped.

Thanks so much
thanks for the compliment but I don't think you should be confrontational if people don't respond to your request on time. Someone who can would always do so in due time. Also try as much as possible to find out information on your own. With persistence you would see what you are looking for. Cheers!!!

Ezegozie: @ezme, maybe i will apply in many universities and in each university, i will about 8 courses.
e.g i may chose Uni of stavanger and put about 4 courses of my choice and also
Univ of Bergen and chose another 4 courses ...
I will apply in about 8 universities.

And out of the 8 universities, one may offer me admission in any of the courses.

And is 2.1 all that easy to get?
Why are they so many people with second class upper holders? (LOL)

they say if i have work experience, i should include it. Do they also mean I can include my experience in I.T?

And i am a 3rd yr student, so i am not applying this year, just want to have some idea.
are you a student in Norway
I don't know if there is a limit to number of courses you could apply for in a particular School. What you also have to understand is that not all courses are available in English. And most of the courses available are not the popular ones you hear of.
TravelRe: Nigerians In Oslo, Norway by ezme(m): 10:26am On May 15, 2013
Ezegozie: 4rm my Knowledge in Maths, 86% CGPA of maximum of 5 is 4.3.

Please do you mean that a CGPA of 4.3 will only be considered for second round?

Apart from CGPA, is there anything one can do to stand a better chance of getting admission there.

And i think the toughness of admission should depend on the course in question, and the number of people seeking for the course.

From the look of things, i may graduate with CGPA of between 3.5--3.8 by God's grace.
So does it mean i cant secure admission there?
The only way you would get in is when people with better CGPA don't apply this year. And believe me many people are looking for a way to get around cost of graduate school and Norway is a highly preferred destination. Preliminary application is free, So you should still go ahead and apply anyway.
TravelRe: Travelling To Canada Part 4 by ezme(m):
I think the urge and need to form alliances on this thread is the reason confrontations are always coming up. That was how someone was asking people to post their VISA to prove they got it as if anyone was competing with him. You all need to chill and just put things in perspective. Are you seeking a better education or you believe Canada is an escape route from poverty? Follow through with your applications, help others if you can and stop letting your egos get in the way.

I know about Norway, most schools have October/November deadline for preliminary application. Then you might get a verdict to proceed to second stage from between December/january and you gt a february deadline to submit documents. Final decisions are made in April... Wish you all the best
