fatty27, Your findings are very loaded and really made a whole lots of sense. In fact, the same symdrome has degenerated to ladies below 28 years of age as well and this called for an urgent attention by all the stakeholders( ladies, parents, siblings, guardiance, tutors, govt, mothers, media etc.) to sensitize all and sundries. There is an adage in Yoruba language that says,( obinrin so iwa nu, oni oun kori ile oko gbe) " a woman lost good manners and she kept complaining of incessant divorce or marriage break-up". You can not eat your cake and have it. No way!! Civilization, modernization or any other name you may call it, men will always be the head and can never be the subject. This has been ordered by God. If you research into successful marriages today, you will see that those women respect their husband and the husband reciprocate as well. Respect must come from a woman first and man is equally expected to respect his wife as well. Though, some men know how to handle arrogant women, all you need to do is that damn all her money and stop her from working and endeavour to provide all the family needs if possible pay her salaries. But reverse is the case for some guys as they can not handle the situation most especially if they do not have good job. At the end, they will settle for divorce as every man wants to be in control. That is just the basic facts. So, we can collectively save the future of this generation by starting from our sisters at home. I am confident that it will help a great deal. cheers!!!!!!!!! |
Good said GODANA, When are Nigerians going to stop the mentality of money syndrome? Well, i may not totally blame anybody for this but the level of pandemic and abject poverty in the land. We are living in a society where people depend extensively on money and this money is selfishly concentrated on few hands. The issue of money and love or romance can never resurface in a developed country like what GODANA said in her post above. Frankly, I will not subscribe to the idea of marrying someone who is 'jobless' wherether man or woman. To be candid, the marriage may not go on as expected initially. For me, i say NO, NO, NO! to housewife. You know what, anything can happen at anytime in order not to let my wife and my precious three kids( yet unborn) suffer, we both need to make our millions. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! QES |
Nice job donpapa, it's just as if u were reading my mine. I meant three ladies of recent at different interval and they all asked me the same questions: 'who are you?where do you work? and which part of lagos do you reside?' I was godsmacked not because of the questions per se but why all of them keep on asking d same questions. Did they have meeting on men or guys wot do u think? Maybe, every lady wants a well-made guy. well, I won't blame them sha, they are just trying not to fall victim of hunger. So ladies, Thumbs'up in your search. |
Nice responses so far, Honestly, some bosses are just too desperate when it comes to the issue of chicks. I will advise u to take it slowly bcs your boss is a desperate type. I am talkin 4m experience. I was once in your shoes. my own boss did it openly to d extend of vitimizing me and the girl and always turn our requests down. If not for the type of d organisation I work where nobody has singular power to sack any staff, the man would av sacked me.You know what he did, he sent d lady to another branch and never allowed me to say a jack at d meeting without opposing me. I always display maturity and never show it on my face and still give him his due regards. u guys can see each other by weekends, chats on line weekdays, calls but just do it with maturity provided the chick feels d same way u do. u can as well seek 4 a transfer to another branch if it's applicable in your company or start lookin 4 a new job if and if u really want to marry d chick but if not, it doesn't worth stressing oneself. Takia. |
Hi friend, I think you don't need to create unnecessary blood pressure for yourself. Your not having a job now is not that you are a lazy man but is only that getting job in Nigeria is basically the survival of the fittiest and by God's grace. To be frank, it is not easy staying with a man without a job but all the same, that is one of those things in a relationship which we need to endure with ourselves. I would advise you to talk to her and let her see some senses in you and try to get something doing that will atleast fetch you little money to augument. But if at the end of the day she can't wait, I will say let her go and do not pick any offence because you gat your life to live and you can't put two rods into the fire at atime. Concentrate on how you will get a job and take her issue as secondary because man is not complete without a job as God has even commanded. I wish you all the best friend. Cheers!!!!!!!!! |
Awa and dave'07, I am so much impressed about your positive perspectives towards life and you have a better chances of getting to the apex. I never believed that we still have some positive think tanks in the country. That means the future of this country is bright and Nigeria will be great again in Jesus mighty name.Amen. More positive contributions are welcome on this thread to lift up the hopeless. Peace!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Mr Hnd Holder, There is nothing absolutely wrong with Hnd certificate as it's turning for better. It is all depend on the value you place on yourself while you were in the polytechnic and thereafter. It is not a gain-saying that there is gross unemployment in the land of Nigeria and graduates now struggle for limited job placements and the school system has turned graduates to job seekers and not job creators. Therefore, for one to get better chances ahead of one's competitors, one needs to add uncommon values to oneself. This may be through getting better grade while in school, professional qualifications and masters as the case may be. I am very proud to be a polytechnic graduate and always proud to be identified with it because with the help of God and the light I got when I was in the poly, it really makes me a better person and every employer wants to hire me. I finished with distinction in my Hnd, I emerged as overall best candidate in my professional examination throughout Nigeria, I made Distinction at my MBA level and currently running MSc in one of Uk Business schools. All these to the glory of God. What I want to bring out here is that, the school is generally established to provide useful information for the students and it is left for you to make use of the rare opportunity while in school and thereafter. Sometimes ago, I was with one of the Nigerian banks M.D in a lectures and he asked the audience,' how many people in this hall have international passport?' Majority of people were looking at one another. He added by saying assuming I am ready to employ some of you now and I need you to set-up a branch for me at canada and all expenses will be paid for, I want to beleive many people will not make the list because only few people have Intn'l passport or do you guys expect me to get it for you?Absolutely NO!!. I got another secret of success. Fine, there is an acute unemployment in the country but have you ever seen anybody with master degree without a job? If yes, then try PhD. Though one maybe under-employed but not without a job. One may say CAPITAl but I had no job when i was studying for my professional examinations. The truth is that Nigeria is a certificate crazy country and most CEO proved it that they don't have any confidence in first degree any longer. So, for you to get that your desired-jobs, try to update yourself. I have a friend that has three masters and currently running his PhD. He never tired to get more. Finally mr. Hnd, your destiny is in your hands and the choice is yours as there is nothing wrong with Hnd certificate. God bless you. Amen. |
bebe 2007, No offence afterall we all need ourselves. I am really impressed about your response. That was great. keep it up! 'Bankers should just keep it cool thats all'': As for this, I want to believe they are all hearing you and we will do just that. Thumb up Girl!!!!!!! |
hmnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnnn! BUSTA! BUSTA!! BUSTA!!! BUSTAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! she is eloquent and highly intelligent. i give her that credit. cheers!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! |
Busta my good friend Nice response. She has said it all. There is no point in putting ursef under unnecessary duress or stress. If u are not in relationship, would you die? Absolutely No! Relationship is capital intensive, countless recharge cards, browsing, eatries spending, beach and lots of that. Relationship is more than words of mouth. you really need real cash for you to be in total control as a man. Now that there is no job, where would you get the money from? I beg safe ursef the stress. cheers!!! |
Bebe2007, I can see that you are taken this matter too personal that was why you shot me that I compared a banker with a lawyer in my previous post about, who a banker is? I just want you to know that every profession has it own perculiarity and was being designed for a defined purpose. For you to have said that law is only noble profession and I should not compare banking/finance with law, I see it as an unnecessary Ego-Boasting which is 'altra vires abinitios" null and void without any locus standi One thing you should note is that Nairaland is designed by Seun purposely for people to interracts and share experiences with one another. So, issue should not be taken personal here and we should always be mindful of our utterances as people across the globe are reading our writes-up. So my sister, don't be annoyed if I have ever offended you for citing a reference in my previous post by comparing the requirements for qualifying people into law profession and banking/finance profession with each other. Once again, i am sorry. I did not mean any harm before you sue me to law court. Best regards!!!! |
Hi Busta, What brand of car do you want? how do we connect in canada? Peace. |
Holusola, Do you really love this woman? if yes, you can go ahead provided you will not allow unnecessary inferiority complex to set in thereafter. Forget about her qualifications, they are just mere papers. Do not allow that to drive you away. Remember, you are a man and for real. If she is the type that is not arrogant and ready to leave her age and qualifications behind her. In fact, research has shown that the woman of that categories are more matured and wifely. So, grab her provided she meet up with the conditons above. cheers!! Busta, wot do u mean by"older ladies too needs some TLC" Please expantiate. peace. |
Hi my sister, Do you really like this guy? if your answer is YES, then I will say keep in contact with him tactically but don't make your intention known to him openly so that you will not be taken for granted in case he does not have feeling for you. Also, you need to show more interest about what he does, work, family, studies etc. You share things of like interest. Let me tell you whether we like it or not, we need to build our relationship with each other as there is no ready-made relationship anywhere in the world. So, give it a trial but please don't sell yourself cheaply. Bye dear. peace. |
youngman, I would advise you to take it slowly. you have not gotten GTB job yet and still on the line of hope. Now you have started thinking on how you will deal with your babe. Men, that is not funny at all. You need to concentrate on God first and let the job come before thinking about how you will treat your girl friend. Honestly, I will blame you. Why did you choose to date a lady that place preference on money and job? Could it be that you are getting some material gains? Just be on your kneel and ask God for your missing rib. I mean your God sent wife. All the best. |
poster just take it cool. If u just saw a sign not him with d lady in question, u need to take it slowly as never can't tell who used d tissue paper . bt if it was real, i will advise you to exersice a little caution about your closeness with him as is not worth dying for ok. B/4 u say good bye always demand for the reason for his action. If it is tenable forgive him but if not, run away from him. peace!!!!! |
I am just kidding above, Busta, wot do u mean by gained nothing was all a mistake in the first place. I am interested. |
