NYSCRe: NYSC: What Do You Think? by fabiyi: 8:07am On Jun 18, 2007
Goodday all,
Well, in my own opinion which is subjective, I think NYSC should be scrapped for these obvious reasons.

First, the ideas of the National service which was being established on had been lost years ago. Innocent graduates are now being subjected to unwarranted stress after much stress faced while schooling.

From my own personal experience, I secured a job in a bank shortly after I graduated but before service with my OND certificate,I was earning well above N40,000 per month and as a youngman with little or no responsibility, I was reasonably confortable. But unfortunately, due to wrong information and I was transfered to a new branch then, I had no choice but to go for this so called National service since my Boss was not helping the matter to give me  three weeks for camp.
From 40k/ month, I fell back to N7,500 Fed govt allowee and N3000 state which was not regular at all.
I did not even mind with full hope that after my service year, "life go better" and I will get a better and well pay job.

My people, it was not the way I calculated it as there are thousand and one graduates with better grades and professional qualifications that are being  struggled for jobs. Then the hope of being securing another job became blinking and shortly I left my former job for youth service they jacked-up the take home from 43k to 57k and 67k per month respectively.

Now tell me, is NYSC certificate am I going to eat or what? Today, every employer emphises more on experience regardless of being a fresh graduate.

So, can somebody convince me in the whole house about the usefulness of national service as I was posted to a villiage in Kogi state with no water, light, network, bad raod and a host of other stuff to numerous to mention.

Well, I can't tell it all. Today, we are witnessing  VAT increment and hike in fuel price, no job, no hope for Nigerian graduates. I stand to be corrected why this NYSC should not be scrapped.

I think Fed. govt should give the lump sum of the money to graduates and undoubtedly, 95% of them will make something tangible out of it. Remain bless.

Cheers!!!!

I thank God for you. It is a well deserved blessing from Yaweh. Please my sister, I want you to be deligent,  honest and faithful in your doings as God only blesses the righteous without adding any sorrow.

To all jobseekers, if you can try these by giving your lives to Jesus, undoubtedly, you will be the next person to share your testimonies on this forum. You see, this is a personal experience for me when I was searching for job and today I have a better job and about to change my job.

I finished my NYSC August, 2006 and to the glory of God about four different banks had offered me their jobs. Please do these as we will rejoice with you shortly.
Cheers!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Oceanic Bank Test Format by fabiyi: 10:37am On Jun 07, 2007
Oceanic Bank test is as simple as abc except time constraint. All you need is to study Economics/commerce O'level, Mathematics O and A' level, current affairs, Banking and finance related questions, English language synoyms and antonyms

Time yourself and try to shade all even if u are not sure of the answer as there is no negative marking. Above all, u need to know God by praying and fasting. Guys, success is yours if u can try these.

cheers!!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: by fabiyi: 6:20pm On May 24, 2007
My people, if you consider the hardship that the graduates of nowaydays face, one will certainly be worried. But I so much beleive that what would be would be.

The secrets of the whole things is for ones to know God as those that have success story today did not make it without the intervention of God Almighty.

Finally, all things are possible for those that know God. I am talking from experience.
May God bless you all.

All the best.

Jobs/VacanciesRe: 3rd Class + 35k Job (is It Advisable?) by fabiyi: 6:21pm On May 03, 2007
hi friend,

Honestly speaking, all the housemates have spoken well. Just grab the job first and gain the experience so that you can move on up. Also don't relent and try to go for your master degree.

My uncle made pass from Ife and he went for his master thereafter, today he is with halliborton. think about that.
cheers!!!

This kind of letter which looks formal, do you still use yours SINCERELY OR FAITHFULLY at your closing end?

I stand to be corrected.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Which Bank Has The Best Training School In Nigeria? by fabiyi: 9:06pm On Apr 30, 2007
Please let us know the basis of the assessments first. Would it be their pay, rigorious training, time span, environment, the calibre of the teachers etc. Until then, your own opinion may be subjective and void.

Therefore, let us argue on a solid paramatre like professionals .

One love!
CareerRe: Interview Question: 'What Time Are You Available To Start Work?' by fabiyi: 8:58pm On Apr 30, 2007
Hi my people,
The best answer to that question is NOW provided you are a fresh graduate without any job at that moment.

But if you are currently working , you can tell them that you would have loved to start NOW but they should please give you some days to do your proper handing over.

Then, you have pushed the question to them again, they can now say we give you so, so days. What do you think about that? Check it out. Cheers!!!!!!!!!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Virgin Nigeria by fabiyi: 2:41pm On Apr 27, 2007
hi ayomi, I lost out at the second stage of the test conducted at their office at Ikeja Airport, if you passed that stage I think you just need to relax as they will soon call you for the next stage.
But if you did not do computer test that means you did not score up to their cut-off point. They said we can apply in the next six month. let us hope for the best.
cheers!!!!!!!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Oceanic Bank Please(exactly 5 Monnth Today) by fabiyi: 8:35am On Apr 27, 2007
Sw,
Just exercise a little petience as it depends on the total number of the people that passed their test and the available slots they have at hand. They call people base on their scores. I passed their test last year December and interview this year January which I equally passed as well but nothing has been heard uptill now. I think mine own is more panicking than yours.
Just relax and keep on trusting in God as it will surely come and not tarry.
Cheers!!!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Will This Unexpected Bank Job Help My IT Career? by fabiyi: 8:09am On Apr 27, 2007
I thank God for you because it is a turg of war to get a better job in Nigeria today no matter your grade even  first-class products are not excluded.
For you to have chosen a career in banking sector, you have taken a right step whether  your love career is IT or Engineering. There is IT department in every bank and you can be relevant there. If you are not currently employed in IT department, do not worry as Oceanic bank is a good bank that is not stressful unlike others. You can cross later just get in to the system first and you find your way.
I will not deceive you, the Almighty oceanic bank has always been my dream bank. So take the offer letter with all your strengths. Cheers!!

Jobs/VacanciesRe: Intercontinental Bank by fabiyi: 7:03pm On Apr 23, 2007
obanikoro2, nawa for uuu oo.  are u a HR person or the doctor that tested them positive?
That is just by the way. there are lots of reasons why a person may not be called after medical.

Firstly, if there are too many people that passed the medical and they have limited vacancies, they will be calling people in batches.

Secondly, if there is Age or Certificate discripancies on any of your credentials, you may not be call.

For intercontinental banks, they have hundreds of offer letters that are not being contacted and not because their tested positive but because of their logistics challenges.

I want you to relax as they will call you all so soon and do not put your mind there. A friend of mine nearly died when he did Access bank medical test didn't hear from them as expected. Today, he got the Access bank job but latter left for chevron before he finished training school.
So, keep calm as you will be called shortly. Do not let what obanikoro said weigh you down.
All the best!!!!!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Heard From Pwc? by fabiyi: 6:17pm On Apr 23, 2007
I wrote the test as well but not being contacted yet.
I observed something that is going on in this forum now which is not good for the purpose of this gathering. People are only interested in getting information but not giving information out which I think is not all that good.

Many of us wrote ECOBANK test and we are expecting result and somebody was asking for their pay while many of us are still expecting the result. if you help us with information, God will surely reward you and that can not block your chances.
Please let us help ourselves. Cheers!!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Eco Bank by fabiyi: 4:38pm On Apr 23, 2007
linkman, have you passed their test before asking for their pay. I am also interested as i wrote their test later march at money market association, lagos.
I want to know if the result of that test is out and if not, where and when did you write your test? Pls, we need this infomation very badly and your response will be highly appreciated.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Oceanic Bank Job! by fabiyi: 7:55am On Apr 20, 2007
Congratulation! congratulation!! Congratulation!!!
Bro, count yourself favourably lucky. Oceanic bank is one of the best banks in town if not the best. Zib is too marketing aggressive and can go extra mile in fraustrating their staff to get wot they want. I have been looking onto God as far back as January this year when I passed their interview conducted at Osogbo branch just to call me for my offer letter and here is somebody that is already hooked up with zib and the bank is begging him/her to take their offer letter.

Anyway, that is just by the way, looking at zib pay, u may not want to leave but considering job security and career prospect, I will not deceive you, oceanic bank is the best because it has always been my dream bank just look at their core values.TEAMS- Transparency, Equal Opportunity, Accountability, Merit and Service Excellence. Better still, make a wise decision and move on up.
Cheers!!
CareerRe: Graduating With A Second Class Lower by fabiyi: 6:08pm On Apr 16, 2007
For how long are we going to continue like this? I believe this forum was designed purposely to connect and encourage Nigerian graduates in their quest for searching for job. I want you all to realize some facts; the rich men are created purposely to help the poor, the able ones are equally created to help the disables. We should all be our brothers'keepers in all raminifications and share out of their problems because nobody knows tomorrow and we need ourselves.
The dearth employment opportunities in Nigeria today is neither your faults nor mine. This is a pandemic and an endeamic problem  created by our ego-centric leaders that has gotten out of control up till now. If you conduct your research very well, you will realize that most employers that discriminate against grades (1.1, 2.1, 2.2, others) and qualifications (HND,BSC,Btech etc) do not hold such qualification if at all they do, you will see that they made poor grades. Another facts are that they now employ more ND holders on contract basis purposely to cut down the cost and post satanic profit at expense of graduates. Oh my God that is an act of Neo-colonalism ( slavery) in our father's land that is flowing with milks and honey. Do not mis-quote me, ND holders are equally good.
Find out very well, most expatriates( foreigners) that are working in Nigeria hold just technical certificate and we worship them like God. Please for the last time , let us all try to encourage one another and unanimously stop this act of discriminations in all aspects  so that Nigeria can be a better place for all of us. Good luck to you all . Please do not be tired. It is well as you will laugh last. Hab.2:1-3. Cheers!
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Access Bank And Its Pay by fabiyi: 6:13pm On Apr 11, 2007
Mypeace, I can see that you really know what is obtainable in Access Bank. As for Ogs, I will not make any comment about the way he/she responded. I know one thing for sure as a banker, no one will disclose his/her exact take home to other people. Some may inflate it for Ego boasting while some may reduce it for personal reasons maybe not to be easily targeted for money by relatives. I know of a bank that pays ETs 2.8m per annum but their monthly take home is just 77k. So, what about that.
All the best.
EducationRe: "My Names Are" Or "My Name Is"? by fabiyi: 8:27pm On Apr 10, 2007
Well! well! well! You have all spoken well. Concerning the topic,  .My name IS or ARE.
It is advisable for job seekers like most of us to use my name is for this obvious reasons. Firstly, using my name are, it is an act of garrulousity and pride which the interviewer will not tolerate in all aspects because you are in for business and nobody cares about your other names.

Secondly, I participated in an opened interview conducted by a bank, a guy lost out of the race for using my name are. Looking at the statement my name are, is it not irritiating? Anyway, for those that are ready to learn and to avoid public disgrace, please you can introduce yourself by saying,  I am so, so and so simple. For better understanding, pls, consult A-Z English textbook and the latest Oxford Dictionary.

Best regards to you all.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Access Bank And Its Pay by fabiyi: 6:23pm On Apr 02, 2007
Hi Goodleader,
I like your positive way of thinking. But why not relax and pass their interview before you can talk of their pay. Anyway, their pay is not bad, it may not be the best but one of the best. For ETS 60k plus 20k medical allawance but not all the time. All the best.
Jobs/VacanciesRe: Nim Exams 2006 by fabiyi: 6:14pm On Apr 02, 2007
hello faith,
Since you are still an undergraduate, why not wait until you finish your degree as no school will offer you MBA without your first degree. Well, for pastor Adeyemi's MBA, I am fully aware but I do not have full details of it.
My dear faith, why not concentrate on your first degree first and get not less than 2.1 so that you can have better chances after your graduation. Adeyemi's MBA is still on going as it lacks modus operandi for now. Remember Nigerians way of discrimination and acceptability.
Cheers love!!!!!!!
