The Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) has shared N636.602bn for April 2022 from the Federation Account Revenue to the Federal Government, States and Local Government Councils.

This is contained in a communiqué at the end of a virtual meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) for May 2022.

The N656.602 billion total distributable revenue comprised distributable statutory revenue of N461.189 billion, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N166.522 billion, the sum of N8.891 billion being Excess Bank Charges Recovered and augmentation of N20.000 billion.


In April 2022, the total deductions for cost of collection was N29.609 billion and total deductions for transfers and refunds was N147.651 billion.

The balance in the Excess Crude Account (ECA) was $35.377 million.

The communiqué confirmed that from the total distributable revenue of N656.602 billion; the Federal Government received N257.611 billion, the State Governments received N201.256 billion and the Local Government Councils received N149.251 billion. The sum of N48.485 billion was shared to the relevant States as 13% derivation revenue.

A gross statutory revenue of N635.037 billion was received for the month of April 2022. This was lower than the N933.304 billion received in the previous month by N298.267 billion.

From the N461.189 billion distributable statutory revenue, the Federal Government received N217.412 billion, the State Governments received N110.275 billion and the Local Government Councils received N85.017 billion. The sum of N48.485 billion was shared to the relevant States as 13% derivation revenue.

In the month of April 2022, the gross revenue available from the Value Added Tax (VAT) was N178.825 billion. This was lower than the N219.504 billion available in the month of March 2022 by N40.679 billion.

From the N166.522 billion distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue, the Federal Government received N24.978 billion, the State Governments received N83.261billion and the Local Government Councils received N58.283 billion.

The Federal Government received N4.684 billion; the State Governments received N2.376 billion and the Local Government Councils received N1.831billion from the N8.891 billion Excess Bank Charges Recovered.

The N20.00 billion augmentation was shared as follows: the Federal Government received N10.536 billion, the State Governments received N5.344 billion and the Local Government Councils received N4.120 billion.

According to the communiqué, in the month of April 2022, Petroleum Profit Tax (PPT) and Excise Duties increased marginally, while Oil and Gas Royalties, Import Duty, Companies Income Tax (CIT) and Value Added Tax (VAT) all recorded significant decreases.

NMWA dropping in Universities

*Update on payment of NMWA to the University staff*

Government has directed that the Minimum wage arrears should be paid without further delay.

It should be noted that payment has started dropping since yesterday; Other Tertiary institutions like Colleges of Education and Polytechnics has been settled but Universities.

Universities are yet to be paid due to some challenges of:

a. The internal issue between IPPIS and OAGF
b. Inclusion of Principal Officers in some Schools against its purposes.
c. Cautions to avoid double payment in the University etc.

However, payment was to be made anytime from now and not outside the payment of May Salary (at least they will be sure discrepancy will be identified)

The federal, states and local governments have shared N739. 965 billion as federation revenue, which was earned in the month of September.

This was contained in a communiqué issued at the end of the virtual meeting of the Federation Account Allocation Committee (FAAC) for October.

The N739.965 billion total Distributable Revenue comprised distributable Statutory Revenue of N577.765 billion, distributable Value Added Tax (VAT) revenue of N159.096 billion and Exchange Gain of N3.104 billion.


In September 2021, N126.272 billion was the total deductions for cost of collection, statutory transfers, savings and refunds.

The balance in the Excess Crude Account (ECA) was $60.860 million.

EAA: from a reliable source, it has started dropping to Universities accounts yesterday. Good news indeed and is an indication that other payments too could be made by the deadline of Dr. Ngige. The Man meant his words this time!

FG, ASUU Set October Deadline for Payment of Salaries, Allowances’ Arrears

The federal government and the Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU) have resolved that payment of the next tranche of the arrears of earned allowances would be paid on or before the end of October.
The government said it would also ensure that issues of promotion arrears and inconsistencies in the implementation of the Integrated Personnel and Payroll Information System (IPPIS) as it affects the university lecturers are sorted out and payment made on or before the end of this month.
Speaking on the outcome of discussions with ASUU that ended last night, the Minister of Labour and Employment, Senator Chris Ngige, said they also agreed to convene a meeting next week between Nigeria Information Technology Development Agency (NITDA), the National University Commission and ASUU, so as to finalise the proposed salary payment platform – University Transparency Accountability Systems (UTAS).
Ngige said the meeting further discussed the issue of disbursement of revitalisation fund and agreed to wait for submissions from the Vice Chancellors of various federal universities on the utilisation of previous allocations. Ngige described the meeting as smooth and fruitful, disclosing that ASUU agreed to go back to its organs to deliberate on the outcome. Copied.
