If AKA doesn't make it to Valentine's Day then people would say "He said it" and if he does then the prophet would say people prayed and BTW he said he "might not" Light skin rapper... How many are they and why did he replied? This guy was specific. |

LibertyRep: It is fine for anyone to accuse the governors of ulterior motives in this naira scarcity but you can't fault the fact that ordinary Nigerians have been at the receiving ends of this ill-thought policy, and not the governors and their immediate family members.
The governors should just grow some balls and direct their angers to the President and not the 'inmocent' CBN governor. Their meeting is now weekly over the naira swap (also ignoring the two times they try to intimidate Buhari himself). As those above me, the fuel scarcity would be 2 years old by August 2023, why didn't they show the same concern for the masses during these 18 months of fuel scarcity? Lets call a spade spade; they should deposit all old notes they looted in the states treasury. |

Iamgrey5: You must tell the whole Nigeria your location so that they can come and get their own too. It is you people that turn it to business. Everyone is now keeping it because it is written 1000 but in reality it is 1200 in value. I have seen but I have not touch the old notes since Friday 11pm. Anyone that try to pay me, I tell them, 'go and change that fucking money' or do transfer. |

Old notes is in circulation already na. I have been spending old notes and collecting old notes as change from vendors and market women
I have old notes with me and i will spend it in coming days
Your question is very funny seriously It is possible my palms have not touch old 200, 500 & 1k notes since Friday Night (I have 3 inside a book as collection). If they should be a riot, I should be in my house sleeping (don't want to be among them protesting why my money is now worthless). Even one of my favorite trader, I thought he was Igbo, his bank account name is very Yoruba and he looks very Igbo. Just discovering everybody birth name or real identity. |

lonecatt: The governor is stupid, banks no longer accept the old notes , how is it the supermarket's fault. The babaringa thief should bring out the old naira notes they have buried in billions and stop causing hardship in the country. zed7: Every girl seem to have an iPhone and use Brazilian hair. From the cleaners in the office to the receptionist in the hotels. I keep wondering how people are able to afford these things with their 30k minimum wage. The answer has to be men. Nigerian men are known to be 'providers ' at their own expense of comfort. I seen cleaner that wore cloth that is her salary. |
Phones › Re: Why Do You Nigerian People Buy Expensive Phones? by faceland: 2:18pm On Feb 12, 2023 |
Braintaf23: I can bet anything that the average Nigerian youth now has at least an iPhone worth over 200,000 to 1 million naira, and most of these people don’t have money in their bank account. They have no job, they have no car or house or any tangible source of income but you see them with extremely expensive phones.
First I’m curious how do you people even afford these phones?
Secondly why will you choose to hold a 600k phone in your hand and have less than 50k in your account after?
Do you truly feel happy about that?
I’m not judging sincerely I’m only curious, why is this so common that we have a youth population of people who have less than 100k in their accounts but use phones of half a million naira?
iPhones are damm expensive, the iPhone 14 alone is 1 million, the rest are from 200k to 1 million, you barely see these people with old model iPhones it’s always the latest ones, especially in Lagos.
How is this even possible in a country as poor as Nigeria? My phone can't be more expensive than a laptop or motorcycle. If am very rich and have dollars account filled with money, I might go for an iPhone to make sure no hackers steal my money. My favorite brand is iTel (it has fractures that save battery and it was made for the Nigerian Jungle). I bought my first one for 19k when I was broke and my phone needed replacement and since patronized the brand for almost 4 years in a role. Even my next phone would be an iTel (last changed my phone around 6am and it is currently 40% by 2pm). |
