I quickly reflected on what happened to SW in 2003-20011 whenever people called Tinubu a thug, thief and rouge. I come to the conclusion that all those that rants are the enemies of SW. Where were you people when PDP and Tribune its mouth piece ransacked SW with all its thunderbolt of political comments about Tinubu and ACN? Where is our hope at this moment? Who is the architect of this renew Hope? Awolowo is an individual, an icon whose footprint will be remember in annals of yoruba development and Nigeria as a whole. We need renew our hopes and live with the aspirations of 21st century, not under the shade of the family of an icon. Yoruba ronu, what would have been our hope at the moment if ACN had failled to live to expectations? Never should we ever believe that no single Yoruba will bring forth a legacy that will call that be-quited us by Awolowo into contest. Mr. Omatseye was right in his opinion or an observation of "Awo Family; Without A Awo", but he needs make flaccid his pen in future as it was made too sharp for the write-up. Awon agba lo wipe gbon un eebu ni fun agba (share mumble is language of disrespect to elders). |
SW/Yoruba region was Number 0 in 1960 - 1966 Number 0 1966 - 1975 Development highlights the years above. The Action Group, from 1951 had demonstrated itself to be a party with sophisticated party ideology and political governance. It was a political party with demonstrable commitment to the welfare of the people. It was a party committed to the provision of basic education, quality health care service, integrated rural development and provision of infrastructure. It was the AG government that fully funded free and compulsory primary education when the other regions still shut the doors of knowledge against their people. It was the AG government that established the first television station, the first radio station and the Liberty Stadium, Ibadan. The first skyscrapper in tropical Africa. The AG also produced the first regional government that loaned the central government of Alhaji Tafawa Balewa seven million pounds. The AG government invested in agriculture and used the proceeds thereof to build the magnificent Cocoa House, Ibadan. Under Awo, the South-West was the food basket of the country. The Awolowo government was also responsible for the establishment of industrial estates in Ikeja, Badagry and Epe. The AG government led by Awolowo also established the prestigious University of Ife now called Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife. The university was established as a model African university under the effective leadership of Prof. Oladele Ajose and Prof. Ezekiah Oluwasanmi. What was other regions achievement that goes at par or closer, SE/SS/North in those days. Debunk the above claims. If you can't as you hardly can. Number 0 2011 - 2015. Why are the Ibos crying for us instead of crying for their future in the enclave of geographical entitiy called Nigerai? History repeat itseft because people fail to learn from History. Just take heed as we are on the Match Again. |
This Moderator self, what do you moderate? Sentiment to coffin, do likewise to the like posts. |
These are the confirmed POSITIVE LEGACY OF AWOLOWO: The Action Group, from 1951 had demonstrated itself to be a party with sophisticated party ideology and political governance. The AG also produced the first regional government that loaned the central government of Alhaji Tafawa Balewa seven million pounds. The AG government invested in agriculture and used the proceeds thereof to build the magnificent Cocoa House, Ibadan first in tropical Africa. The Awo government, in the Second Republic, founded the Unity Party of Nigeria, a party which was able to win Lagos, Ogun, Oyo, Ondo and the old Bendel states, which the late Tai Solarin christened the LOBOO states. The UPN had four cardinal points of development, which included health, housing, education and rural integration. The UPN espoused progressive ideology and paraded such outstanding personalities like the Alhaji Lateef Jakande, the late Chief Bola Ige, the late Chief Olabisi Onabanjo, the late Chief Adekunle Ajasin, and the late Ambrose Alli. These men of honour were not only eminently qualified for governorship position, they were also men of good public service and records. They were already household names before they were elected as governors of the UPN. Jakande, who was popularly called Baba Kekere, was the Action Governor of Lagos State. Jakande made remarkable achievements in education, with the establishment of Lagos State University in 1983. He built housing estates and expanded secondary schools. His administration also improved water transportion system through Ita Faji and Baba Kekere ferry services. He conceived the metro line project, which was aborted by the Gen. Muhammadu Buhari administration. Ambrose Alli established the Bendel State University, Ekpoma, just as Bola Ige established the Osun State Polytechnic, Iree, and Osun State College of Technology, Esa-Oke, while Ajasin established the Ondo State University. Onabanjo established, among many projects, the Ogun State University, which has now been named after him. Go study Ostrich brainner. |
Many people swarm NL these days to showcase what I can say confirm them of one suffering from intellectual hollowness. Before you weave any disjointed comments riding off the intellectual purlase. This is an excerpt from the article that HID replied: "The Awo son that many expected to take after the father was Olusegun, who unfortunately died in a car crash. We shall never know if he could have pulled it off. But the others have not shown much of the paterfamilias’ brio and depth. In the past decade, under this republic, they have blended with the wrong crowd. Even H.I.D, hobnobbed with Alao-Akala, who brought illiteracy to governance; with Oyinlola who turned the grace of office into a hell-hole of despots; with Daniel who could not arrest his quick fall into megalomania. I wrote once that this woman whom Awo once described as the jewel of inestimable value has lost value to his cause. If he came back to life, he would have committed the extraordinary act of divorce after death. Even his newspaper, The Tribune, has so stumbled and fallen that it swims in Awo’s vomit." Before making any comment safe yourself from commonsensical embarasment troding a way of intellectual civility. For those that cares, the full article. http://www.thenationonlineng.net/2011/index.php/columnist/monday/sam-omatseye/8489-awo-family-without-an-awo.html |

In 60's, Prime-Minister North, President East and Your Achievement War, Famine, Asylum, Hunger etc. I they Laugh for the Ibos, just wait till 2015 when u will become the next, ? |
My brothers, the reason Ibos are ANGRY are just this: Ibos have periscoped the historical factors inherent in the victory of the Action Congress of Nigeria in the South-West during the last general elections. They fear we are on the march again. They realise they dont have leader that could take them out of the cofine PDP has nailed them under the control of hausa. The victory of the Action Congress of Nigeria in the South-West is a return to history; a return to the political tradition and culture of the Yoruba people. The Action Group, from 1951 had demonstrated itself to be a party with sophisticated party ideology and political governance. It was a political party with demonstrable commitment to the welfare of the people. Dont worry my folks, they will forever be ANGRY as Hausas will never let them lose from the yolk of it control. Ndo omo Ibo |
