afam4eva: Where did you get that impression in my post? The point i'm trying to make is that you're not likely to see a non-Igbo apprentice in these shops just like you're not likely to see an Igbo apprentice in an Amala joint. Yorubas employ Igbos in white and blue collar Nigeria and vice versa. Though you're definitely most likely going to have more employees from the owner's ethnic group.Good job putting Katsumoto in his place. Hopefully, next time he would learn to shut is trap. |
ocelot2006: Oh my.......*smh*Be-careful how you shake your head . . . |
Joey82: all these american wanabes artistes.Low self esteem? maybe Rich? Heck yelz! |
Kx: Paradise Lost (1667, 1674)John Milton. "Better to reign in Hell, than serve in Heaven".Unfortunately for you, I dont do bumper stickers. If you knew what America is like, trust me, you'd rather slave your way in America than act like a king in Nigeria |
Pataki: Somehow I perceived you were going to throw up your infantile tantrums at me. Seeing how u are depraved of attention thus far on this thread. Maybe you seek for whom to exchange insults with, unfortunately you got the wrong door.Wrong word, wrong context. Just one of the many errors in your post. That said, just wanted to tell you that it was fun hanging out with Obama and Hov a the 40/40.Yeah, I was there. You should count yourself lucky to have me on this forum. I am way above your station. ###Justsaying |
Pacify: D'banj is a big disappoint. See how he's craving so much for attention on Kanye's label after been a King and rightly honored in his own home country..SMHDUde, its better to be a slave in America than be a king in Nigeria. True talk. There is nothing going on in Nigeria, America on the other hand is just out of this world |
Pataki: Exactly! He even had a chieftancy title and name for himself on nairaland. One ridiculous name like that.person!! Uoyr mates are busy hanging out with Obama at the 40/40, you are here talking about Seun's highhandedness. ###Tumfulu |
OAM4J: Jarus check his ban log on his profile, you will understand the reason for the hate.If a poster is that smart, that analytical, that educated, that knowledgeable, that hardworking, that witty, and not creepy I dont see anything wrong with cutting DK some slacks. Even God has sacred cows, Mohammed, Jesus etc. For someone devoid of real ideas, witless and bland, I understand why you (OAM4J) are bitter and frustrated. So this this is all about DK's red car? You could have registered your bitterness in a more articulate manner. Thanks to Ekt_bear, Katsumoto, Ileke-Idi and many others that understand and appreciate the challenges of our job here, I can only promise to keep it up.It is always a good thing to start out with your biggest cheer-lady when thanking your cheer-leaders. |
Katsumoto: I get what you are saying but do you think one can find consistency in war?Of course not. War is brutal, gruesome, unpredictable, matter of life and death, and pretty bad. As someone who has ever been to war ( a tour of Iraq shocked?), and lived through war like situations (the Ijaw-Itsekiri conflicts, Ife- Modakeke conflicts and Aguleri-Umuleri conflicts)I can tell you that much. But this is NL, an online forum where people bounce ideas and sometimes insults off each other. This is not a matter of life and death. So, it isnt far-fetched to expect some constitency. Even in the worst of situations, OAM4J isnt staring down the barrel of an AK47. The level of IQ needed to maintain consistency on an online forum like this isnt that high, I'd wager around 70ish, which is borderline retardd. If your man, OAM4J, cant exercise respectable judgement on a low end forum like this, then I am afraid he may not be qualified for the job.Jarus is a good guy and mod but he isn't as active as oam4j. That's not a criticism; just an observation. Mods have different day jobs and online access; so thats to be expected. You just have to throw in some backhanded insult at Jarus, isnt it? Stoke the fire a lil? Couching an insult in the form of a compliment is not smart. You hate SLS, Jarus is a big fan of the mallam. You are just as depraved as OAM4J. Jarus on the other hand has collegial relationship (sort of) with DK. You cant go after DK, so you went after Jarus, implying he is incompetent and lazy. Do you really have to go there? You just couldnt shut your trap? Pathetic! They are also peeps who also have their own issues to attend to.They do? Abeg chill o; please go to the nearest naija joint and have a few odeku on me; i will pay when next am in Texas.Even though you didnt ask me to, I already did. All that is left to do is for you to clear the bill . . . and unlike DK, you dont have to leave London to clear the bill. Just cut me a check. You know where I live . . . in the hinterland . You have my name and address, be a gentleman and do the needful. And the good thing is my hinterland just got a new Chase branch, so you dont have to worry about the money getting in the wrong hands. ### person! |
Ninapha: @Fstranger & Dayokanu,Dude, that election on the last day of the PDP primary? What was that? Remember when Ekwueme was crying after the 2003 primaries, calling it a "charade?" That was the first time I heard the word charade? I didnt understand what he meant until I looked it up in the dictionary. Whats my point: OBJ beat Ekwueme fair and square. The way Ted Kennedy prevented Romney from becoming a career politician: That is exactly what OBJ did to Ekueme. OBJ retired Ekwueme from politics. OBJ did not just injure the snake ( Ekwueme), he KILLED it. Reminds me of Benjamin Adekunle; In the interests of maintaining a calm and dispassionate tone here, I wont go too deep into what Benjamin Adekunle did. |
Katsumoto: When was the last time you were in London? She is married. She doesnt go to London. If you are this desperate for online p/u/n/n/y, I am afraid you may have to be a lil more creative to land a Nairalander. And for god-sake, please stop pestering married women for their location, it is disgusting. There is more than enough single women here. SMH! |
Gbawe: You are nothing but a cretin. It is olodos like you, never with anything to offer, ruining this forum. I want you and others to show where I have ever submitted anything other than Praise for non-ACN Governors who are delivering like Chime, Amaechi, Okorocha et al. That is the only proof anybody needs to see that I am a sincere person who sees the need for every corner of Nigeria to develop as far more important than empty ethnic jingoism or Party clannishness. Look, you are not from Ogun State where Amosun has high approval rating. Nobody cares what a feudalistic mischief-maker like you believes. So long as citizens of Ogun State , as voters, are seeing progress then your opinion is completely irrelevant.High approval rating ko, high likability index ni. |
SO the govt of Ogun is now in the business of handing out clippers and showcasing badly constructed fly-over bridges as dividend of democracy? I thought these people call themselves progressives? Very sad that our politics hasnt grown beyond the politics of entitlement, of instant gratification, of indirectly buying votes. This is the same 'ol well oiled Tinubu machine that gave out "jigi-Bola" as dividend of democracy in Lagos not too long ago. They've brought their veritable machine to Ogun. Handing out cool cash to people, buying their conscience and their vote and then telling us, without any accountability, that they've increased IGR to an Market forces ensure that the uneducated will always be at the mercy of the government. The trouble is, handing out clippers to those least in need of it does not do a whole lot to brighten anyone's economic outlook. Handing out cash and concrete goods in the form of clippers et al is the worst way any govt could think of exploiting the people they were elected to serve. They are not only buying their vote, they are also silencing them and depriving them of their voice and future. Posterity! This is the worst form of welfarism anyone in govt could have come up with, but not unusual in this part of the world. Tinubu did it with "Jigi-Bola". GEJ used his wife to buy the conscience and vote of the people by handing out bags of rice & gallons of palm oil to women willing to pummel one-other to pulp for it This has been the way politics has been practised in Nigeria for a long time. However since the ascension of Emperor Tinubu, buying people's conscience and vote has been elevated to a new level: It is not just what you do to beat your opponents, it is now the main policy. It is the dividend of democracy. If you want the working poor class to continue to vote for you, then you have to give it something in return. Something tangible, but worthless; Like a clipper they will never be able to use because there was no electricity in the first place. Or a clipper they couldnt use because they never had a passion for 'barbing.' Or shoe making machines that are of inferior quality. Or shoe making kit whose product couldnt compete with foreign made shoes in the same class. So what is the Amosun Administration thinking? Maybe those clippers Amosun passed out to those young men were supposed to substitute for decent jobs with decent pay and retirement benefits. Or maybe the ACN govt under Amosun is counting on more photo ops of the governor in his trademark 'agbada' to soothe the underfed and downtrodden of Ogun State. Or possibly the proposed new SW integration plan, which would bring Chinkos in to work on the proposed new train system at exorbitant price, could be used to shore up the Governor's dwindling public image. If the citizens get too demanding, you can always use unsuspecting Chinkos to launder the governor's public image Or maybe the Amosun Administration in Ogun State isn't thinking at all. Cant wait for ACN house of cards to collapse. . . |
naijababe: Aww!!! You didn't put your genius hat on today? Is that why the sarcasm is lost on you?! Stick to your other talents like cursing people, insulting other people's parents and generally getting under people's skin. You are a genius at those brosNever had one. rofl |
AjanleKoko: Actually, I ignore you both religiously.I didnt even mention your name. But you just wanted it so bad, init? You see, the only thing worse than you opening a thread to drag your relatives in the mud is your low IQ, clearly affirmed by the piss-poor 2:2 you graduated with from your substandard Nigerian university. How you managed to get admitted in the first place will forever remain one of the mysteries of modern day Nigeria. What happened to you, man? Where is your common sense? I mean, the only way you could be less dimwitted is if you were, actually the computer with which you posted this d/u/m/b and utterly insensitive thread. But then you'd be providing some other entitled n/u/m/b/s/k/u/l/l with a platform to drag another relative in the mud, and reflect on what a dimwit he is. It is my prayer that later in life, much later in life, after you have learned to think independently, work hard, knot a tie, and tie your own shoes, you will achieve more success than you currently have. To be honest, these are basic skills that many of us normal Nigerians take for granted. Though these basic life skills we learnt in kindergarten, we often forget that there are quarter-wit persons like Ode-n lekoko in this world who find these things more mind tasking, as demonstrated by your numerous thoughtless posts and redundant advice. If I had known what I knew a few days ago from going through your post history, that you were, in addition to your title as NL's most famous underachiever, this dimwitted I would have never read your posts. It would have been wrong. kind of like expecting a slime with downs, who perhaps struggled to graduate from a below average university, to one day become a decent, thoughtful human being. Godspeed and best of luck in the emotional turmoil, and social upheaval that will inevitably become your portion. Ciao ![]() |
coogar: the comment above is the most brilliant, most incisive and the most illuminating since i joined this forum. socrates and plato would have been so proud of your rare ingenuity!Truth be told, I love how you cut Ode-n-lekoko to pieces. It was refreshing, poignant, and masterfully done; on par with works done by some of the best Nobel winning laureates around. However, rating Niajababe's comment as brilliant made me lose a great deal of the respect I once had for you. No one really knows how Socrates would have felt about the comment, so you are wrong there. As for Plato, I doubt he would regard any of Naijababe's comments as brilliant. Her comments are mostly feminine and of little originality. Mostly, she just paraphrases Odenlekoko, " a witless" electrical technician c/u/m panel beater whose comments are, as your rightly described, "archaic and vacuous . . ." |
oyb: i would only give money to a relative with a clear and demonstrable track record of academic achievmentComing from someone with no " clear and demonstrable track record of achievement" himself. The point is that, you are not a profile in clear academic achievement either. Maybe the Nigerian govt should have discarded you when it was obvious, somewhere midway through your five year program, that you werent gonna graduate with anything better than a mediocre, piss-pooor 2:2? in the west, scholarships are based on a academic achievement, and maintaining the same through the duration of the scholarshipYou mean in the SW of Nigeria where you live or developed countries you've never been to? You know, having a so called unknown "bigwig' in an IT firm in NY doesnt count as first-hand experience of the West. The 'bigwig' brother of yours I am sure is only a 'bigwig' in the mind of his mediocre family. Making grand statements about scholarships in the West without any first hand experience is the height of ignorance and recklessness; very unfortunate that such statement is coming form a 'bush-boy' like you who ought to be more humble, going by your bland and unimpressive academic record. I mean, what did you actually do at Ilorin for the five years you were there? To graduate with a 2:2 at such a substandard school is quite an achievement really. You must have thought academic excellence was a race to the bottom, init? The first to 1.0 . . . Just so you know, merit based scholarships are few and difficult to come by nowadays. Most scholarships are now need-based. A student form the inner cities in with average SAT is more likely to attend an Ivy league free of charge than a student with perfect SATs who grew up in middle class neighborhood. I am sure it is the same thing in most developed countries now that the data are clear that you can actually teach people to do well and tests and test-scores dont mean much in the grand scheme of things, at least as long as you meet certain threshold. that is just Nigerians and awoof mentalityIt wasnt awoof money when the FG sponsored your stupidddd arse through Ilorin? When the money could have been better spent taking care of your more illustrious classmates like Becomrich? Agbaya oshi! |
AjanleKoko: To be frank, I think it's not a matter of being rich, or if the funds are available or not.Well, I dont think it is illegal or unlawful to help people close to you. If your main concern is in fact a matter of its "legitimacy" or lawfulness, I'd like to believe that there are no overaggressive sheriffs in Nigeria eager to haul you off to jail for trying to potentially make someone else's life better. As far as i know, no one has been arrested for being charitable to their relatives. And I really doubt this is an area the courts are willing to dabble into. Things like this are better left to the discretion and abilities of individuals involved. So Mr. Ajanlekoko, Nairaland's most famous underachiever , chillaaaaaaaaaax, no one is gonna send you to kirikiri for trying to help your relatives. Its not that serious!Legitimacy: lawfulness by virtue of being authorized or in accordance with law |
tpia@:Because his name is not there. Reason? hmm, idiopathic! |
tpia@:An Ibo rising star looking to compete in 2015. |
Yeah, the last time they competed was in the 1970 olympics, with about a million people. Go Baifraaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa! |
Now I know where Don Jazzy got his incredibly good looking Ibo face. . . nna, thank God I am not Ibo |
Efemena_xy: ^^ Damn!! I love this girl o!http://www.naijatori.com/naija-story-i-love-you-but-pls-sign-the-marriage-contract-first/ |
Katsumoto: LMAO50+yr old AGBAYA stalking and commenting on a thread started by a 20+yr old confused college senior. FYI, you have no shot at landing Ileke, not in this life. It is best for you to concentrate your efforts on your "sawawis' like Tpia and Naijababe;after all, Egbe eye l'eye n woto. Leave Ileke and other 'ayounges' for young, capable, and, may I add incredibly, good looking men like me. |
I am not sure what I find more discomforting about the story; The OP's English or the fact that the OP actually knows someone who works in a top company. Anyhooo, OP, you is have to rewrited your stowie as per it has not well wrote. |
Bumpology! |
