You should factor in the cost of generating, transmitting and distributing 2 megawatts capacity to consumers. He was not talking about generation alone.
Bros! Let's leave transmission, distribution an the rest aside, let talk of "GENERATION"first,we are saying that in almost six years jonathan's admin.can not give us atleast 7000MW(add to Maybe two 2000MW or so we had earlier)by now we be hiting just under 10000MW,then you can now Talk of distribution an the rest. As it is now even if you buy transformer for every household,we wud still not have regular power because we are not generating enof.

I hate when people who know nothing about governance think they are experts. The rot in Nigerian power generation didn't start with Jonathan but everybody wanna cruify him just because they have a handle on the media and they wanna use the clueless Buhari to make their way to Aso Rock ,so they can continue stealing like they did for well over 30yrs....The west are very wicked!
Its a shame that we have leaders wu can't tink to save their lives, but to even see that we have citizens wu belif that solutions to nigeria's problems are "rocket science"is more disheartening.
You mean a government that has spent nothing less than 15billion dollars on power an yet we don't have up to 10,000MW is on the right path,or wat r u trying to justify?
About 1.3billion is suppose to give nothing less than 1000MW,but check our power generation,we are actually going down.shey na juju?

It is sad to see many anti-progressives call Buhari names because of his tribal accent. Igbo's , Yoruba and Hausa's all have various ways of speaking and pronunciation due to our mother tongue. When i watched father Mbaka's video, his accent was obvious when he pronounced OIL as OYEL but does that makes him an illiterate? General Buhari reads, writes and gives speeches in English, but the hatred by some Nigerians will never let them see that fact.

The most supporters of this present administration are the Igbo's. They see this as an opportunity for them to avenge what was done to them during the civil war. They never blamed Ojukwu who started a suicide mission and ran to ivory coast leaving them to their fate. This is why they will never see anything good in Buhari even if GEJ does nothing, they are contented.

Had APC presented Fashola, Atiku or Kwankwaso , they will still find reasons to vote for GEJ and label Apc candidates bad. This hate is not about buhari, it's the way they feel they can get revenge for refusing to allow them form their Biafran territory. They call Yoruba's slave to the North and all sort of names. They are a petty tribe. Its unfortunate the disunity of this country originates from their region.

In 2011, we all saw GEJ as a messiah and we voted him en-masse irrespective of his tribe and religion. We thought he would deliver us from years of misrule due to his humble look and name GOODLUCK. Nigerians did not vote PDP but GEJ. Then Yoruba's were not tagged slaves for trooping out to vote for him en-masse.

They said APC and Buhari promised to make Nigeria ungovernable. My question is why can't these people be arrested if the statements tagged to them were truehuh GEJ is the commander in chief of all forces in Nigeria and it baffles me how a civilian in Buhari can make his government ungovernable while he sits and watch without taking actions. Isn't that a high level of incompetence?

Good luck Jonathan is the worst president we ever had in this country. The misfortunes of his administrations exceeds the so called transformations. I urge everyone to vote wisely

Sai Buhari cool cool cool

BUHARI FINALY SPEAKS: “Fellow Nigerians, People
accuse me of many things. But
one thing they never accuse me
of is corruption. They never
accuse me of mediocrity, or of
lying. People accuse me of many things. I have led this country and I have a record. We were not perfect, but we were effective;
we solved problems, and we
made Nigerians proud. In our
government, we fought
corruption, we stabilized the
Naira, and we shut down
insurgency. We shouldn’t forget
so soon that there was the
Maitatsine ravaging the North
east and we dealt with it. We also overran the Chadian rebels. We rebuilt industries, Nigerians
queued up and treated each
other with respect; Nigerians
took pride in our reputation for
discipline.
The world admired us. We were
proud to be Nigerians. However,
because they can’t attack our
record, they accuse me falsely of ethnic jingoism; they accuse me falsely of religious
fundamentalism. Because they
cannot attack our record, they
accuse us falsely of calling for
election violence – when we have only insisted on peace. Even as Head of State, we never imposed Shariah. All my running mates
have been either Igbo or Yoruba
and are always devout Christian
of indisputable repute. I have
and will continue to condemn
those who burn God’s places of
worship, be they churches or
mosques and wish God’s
judgment upon them. As your
President, their punishment
won’t stop there, we will also
ensure Boko Haram and other
such elements, are found, are
arrested and face the full wrath
of the law as punishment for
their crimes against our country.
My dear friends, this is very
important to note: It doesn’t
matter if you are Igbo,Yoruba,
Ijaw, Hausa, Idoma, Efik, Ekwere, Urhobo, Igala and, no, it does not matter if you are Christian, Muslim, animist or atheist: we need a new direction under a new leadership. The task ahead will be challenging and daunting, but it is surmountable. This is what leadership is about. My only
desire is to prove to you that
Nigeria can truly work. Allow me
prove to you that in your lifetime, you can be proud of this country.
Let me make you this promise
today: We will protect your
children. We will protect your
wealth. We will make this country work again. This is why I am running for the office of the
president of Nigeria. This is my
promise.” – Muhammadu Buhari

Splashme:
1) Pat Utomi was handed the popular Volkswagen Nigeria and he run it aground

2) Same Pat Utomi managed Platinum bank. The bank was weak and forced to merge with Habib to become Bank PHB. Even the Bank PHB, where is it now? We are now hearing of Keystone bank owned by new owners because Patitos gang could not manage it properly.

3) My point is, 'talk is cheap'. Nigerians love to criticise alot especially while outside of government. Pat himself could not manage very minute aspects of the economy to profitability. If Okonjo, Reuben Abati etc where not in govt there would probably be criticising too
Can you talk base on facts an not been emotional.?
Talkin about Volkswagen..which local automotive industry has been able to survive in during the period that Pat Utomi was incharge...remembered the likes of PAN,ANAMCO,LEYLAND,VOLKWAGEN..,doesn't that tell you that government policy "somersault"were responsible for the failure of those?because the likes of ELIZADE TOYOTA,SCOA NIG HAVE BEEN WAXING STRONG because they just import an sell.

Secondly, you talk about BankPHB..was Utomi responsible was it failures..as in can you proof that..Atuche was the MD of the bank an Kola Abiola was the Chairman..wt did Pat utomi do wrong??..Btw..I have always maintained that Sanusi only succeeded in creating unnecessary panic in the banking,if the banks were insolvent,he cud have just ask the shareholders to recapitalize the bank through "tru right-issues"that was wt SOLUDO did.
BusinessPower Generation Drops Yet Again. by fairheven(op): 2:27pm On Jan 30, 2015
We keep hearing the same old story from this administration why we can't have stable electricity..even after spending billions of dollars?

The country is currently losing 2,042.2 megawatts of electricity due to gas supply shortage and poor water management.

The 411 G2 and G4 units of the Shiroro hydro power plant are currently losing 300MW, while the loss of 1,742.2MW is attributed to gas supply shortage at various legacy gas-fired power plants, including the National Integrated Power Project plants.

The information on the loss was contained in the daily broadcast of the Transmission Company of Nigeria obtained by our correspondent on Tuesday.

The AES barges 202-205 and 207-211 in Lagos are currently losing 288MW due to gas-related problems, while the Geregu NIPP GT 21 and 23 units have lost 290MW.

According to the TCN, the Rivers IPP GT1 is losing 160MW, while the Ihovbor GT2 has a deficit of 112.5MW.

The Omotosho NIPP GT1 and 4, and Sapele ST2 units are said to be losing 240MW and 70MW, respectively.

The Egbin ST1 and 3 units have capacity to generate 660MW, but are currently doing 467MW; meaning a loss of 193MW.

The Omotosho Gas GTI, 3, 5-8 units have a combined capacity of 228MW, but are doing 146.2MW; thus recording a loss of 81.8MW.

Also, the Olorunsogo Gas GT1-4, 7 and 8 units, with capacity for 228MW, are generating just 161.1MW and losing 66.9MW due to gas shortage.

Peak generation for the country as of Tuesday was put at 3,865.4MW, while 3,331.5MW was the figure for off-peak generation.

The Federal Government had shifted its earlier target of generating 6,000MW of electricity before the end of 2014 to this year.

The Minister of Power, Prof. Chinedu Nebo, had said, “We have an outlook for 2015 to 2017. People are saying you people said you will do 6,000MW, yes! We have the capacity standing, we now have the gas standing and we are going to do that shortly within this year. But beyond that; by 2016, we expect to get up to 10,000MW; and by 2017, to get 12,500MW.”

The mid-January statistics obtained from the ministry showed that peak generation on Wednesday was 4,405.6MW; energy generation, 4,000.63MW; and the energy sent out was 3,914.60MW. Peak demand was, however, put at 12,800MW.

On gas pipelines vandalism, Nebo also said the country lost an average of 1,000MW in 2014 as a result of the activities of vandals.

Punch.
