Religion / The Key To Living A Righteous And Sinless Life by FaithfulServant(m): 6:31pm On Nov 12, 2017
From sin we were all conceived (Psalm 51:5) but God expects us to defeat sin during our stay on earth before we go and meet Him to give account of how we lived our lives on earth (Hebrews 9:27; Ecclesiastes 12:7).

If someone lives a good and sinless life, God will give the person a pass mark and allow him to spend his eternity with Him (Romans 6:23). To spend eternity with God, you must defeat sin and the defeat of sin is known as “salvation” (Ephesians 2:8-9).

Salvation is the key to living a righteous and sinless life. Without salvation, you cannot live a sinless life. I hear people say it’s impossible to live a life without sin, but I can say it’s not true because living a life consciously without sin is possible (Romans 6:12).

Follow the following steps below to defeat sin:

STEP 1: Make up in your heart that you are tired of sin and will never go back to sin for the rest of your life (Luke 18:13).

STEP 2: Confess your sins, seek pardon and forsake them (1 John 1:9).

STEP 3: By prayer and supplication invite the Holy Spirit into your life (Philippians 4:6). Call on the name of Jesus because there is no other name by which man can be saved except the name Jesus (Acts 4:12)

STEP 4: Note the date you made the decision and write it down e.g. 11th of July, 2016.

STEP 5: The date you made that decision is your “born-again day”. Just like your birthday, it should be celebrated every month and every year (John 3:3).

STEP 6: Celebrate the day every month and every year and ensure you don’t deliberately commit any sin after your “born-again day”. Any sin at all you know in your heart is wrong, should be avoided. Some example of such sins are as follows: lying, cheating, stealing, gossiping, sexual immorality and others (1 Corinthians 6:9).

Give equal attention to any of the sin in the list or any other sin you know in your heart but pay utmost attention to sexual immorality and avoid it (1 Corinthians 6:18). Sexual immorality include: having sex with either a married or unmarried person (Matthew 5:27) or masturbation (Galatians 5:19).

To put your sexual urge under control, avoid sexually explicit pictures or videos and also avoid looking someone with lust (Matthew 5:27-28).

STEP 7: On the third month as a born-again Christian, you will notice that sin will become irritating to you and you will hate it very much.

If you were having any sickness or demon, the sickness will be cured and demon will abscond (Matthew 8:28-32). Then after, the Holy Spirit will move in and take absolute control over your life (John 14:16; 14:26) and you will notice you will become happy, joyful, patient, loving and above all, you will have a strong self control over sin (Galatians 5:22-23). When the Holy Spirit come into you, you yourself will know and you will notice anything you ask from God in prayers will be granted (John 14:13; Mark 11:24).

Practice these simple steps and it will be bye-bye to that sinful nature. Thanks and God bless and please ensure you spread this to help people defeat sin.

This is dumb_
Why will there be a second judgement considering the fact that the people in "Hell" were already judged to be sinful?

Ecclesiastes 12:7 KJV
Then shall the dust return to the earth as it was: and the spirit shall return unto God who gave it.

Matthew 10:28
And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.

The human body is made up of the body, spirit and soul. At death, the body goes to the ground; the spirit—the life giving part of man return back to God that gives it; while the soul either goes to hell or heaven to be with God.

Yeah, the story of Lazarus and the the rich man is a parable; I just used it as an illustration.

No hell? But, that's not what the Bible says. There is hell brother and don't live in comfort with sin and wickedness with the self taught that judgment and repercussion won't follow.

Repent before it's too late (Matthew 4:17).
Religion / The Difference Between Hell, Hell Fire And Lake Of Fire by FaithfulServant(m): 2:58pm On Nov 11, 2017
At first glance, hell, hell fire and lake of fire can be confusing because of the “hell” and “fire” alliteration. After a careful study of the scriptures, hell, hell fire and lake of fire are used interchangeably but there are differences and similarities between the three topic of discuss.

Hell is a place of torment for the souls of the sinful dead (Matthew 23:33). It is a place somewhere beneath the earth where the sinful dead are confined and tormented (Proverbs 15:24). A case study of hell in the scripture is Lazarus and the rich man (Luke 16:19-31). The rich man who had all the moments of comfort saw the poor beggar—Lazarus in Abraham’s bosom.

Luke 16:23 KJV: “And in hell he lift up his eyes, being in torments, and seeth Abraham afar off, and Lazarus in his bosom.”

In Luke 16:23, it was written that the rich man lifted up his eyes being in the torment of hell to beg Lazarus water (Luke 16:24). The rich man lifting his eyes up signifies the Abraham’s bosom was up and hell which the rich man was, was down and somewhere beneath the earth. It was a scenario where the chief became the beggar and the beggar became the chief. What a paradox!

Hell is a temporal place of torment. The souls in hell awaits the final resurrection where everyone will be judged according to his or her works and anyone whose name is not found in the book of life is thrown into the eternal lake of fire (Revelation 20:12; 20:15). The lake of fire is the final destination and permanent dwelling place for all who are confined in the hell presently after they will have been judged and made aware of their various offenses (Hebrews 9:27).

Hell fire and lake of fire are most times used interchangeably and can mean the same thing. First, we need to understand that the lake of fire is a pit that has been or will be dug for Satan, his angels and all antagonistic rebels of God's word both angelic and human (Revelation 21:8 ). While hell is not a pit but a temporal place of torment with entrance and exit (Matthew 16:18), lake of fire is a pit with lake-like flames where the devils, his minions and all unrepentant sinners will torment day and night for ever and ever (Revelation 20:10; 21:8 )

In the King James version of the Holy Bible, Hell fire, lake of fire and everlasting fire refers to the same thing i.e. the eternal destination of sinners, demons, and Satan (Matthew 18:9; Revelation 20:15; Matthew 25:41).

Satan is not in hell right now but still moving to and fro the earth seeking who to devour with his kingdom in the heavens and in high places (Ephesians 6:12; 1 Peter 5:8; Job 1:7).

1 Peter 5:8: “Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:”

After the resurrection of Christ and before His ascension, Christ descended to the place where the old testament saints were kept and together with them, He ascended to heaven (Ephesians 4:8-9). With the death of Jesus on the cross of Calvary, Christ destroyed the works of Satan and snatched the keys of hell and death from him and behold Jesus is seated at the right hand of the Father with the keys of hell and death (Revelation 1:18).

Revelation 1:18: “I am he that liveth, and was dead; and, behold, I am alive for evermore, Amen; and have the keys of hell and of death.”

Accept Jesus today because He has the power to save and rescue you from sin, hell and death (Romans 6:23).

True, but you need to read the testimony of a young man spoken in second person - by a pastor.

If I can't share it for you(it's in PDF), I'll have to paste it here. It's a long testimony in which it wouldn't contain a post unless I create another.

Meanwhile, here's a post of mine. You can possibly find that testimony within the thread. cheesy

Be careful how you treat others because when they see you, they don’t only see your face, but they see the pictures of the things you have done to them in their minds both good, bad and evil (Matthew 22:39; Proverbs 11:12).

Religion / Blessed Are the Meek for They Shall Inherit the Earth — Understand Matthew 5:5 by FaithfulServant(m): 5:16pm On Nov 08, 2017
Understanding Matthew 5:5: Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.

In the words of Jesus in Matthew 5:5: “Blessed are the meek: for they shall inherit the earth.”

To be “blessed” means to be happy i.e. happy are those—the meek who will inherit the earth (Psalm 37:11). To be meek means to be humble and we should not forget that Jesus Christ Himself is an epitome of humility who was God but did not consider himself to be equal with God and made for Himself no reputation but took the form of a servant obedient to the Father even till death on the cross of Calvary (Philippians 2:6-8 ). Jesus is an example of humility we all should emulate as His followers (1 Peter 2:21).

1 Peter 2:21: “For even hereunto were ye called: because Christ also suffered for us, leaving us an example, that ye should follow his steps:”

Now we have known what “blessed” and “meek” means but which earth should we conclude that Jesus Christ is referring to? This present temporary earth (Luke 21:33) or the future earth of the new heavens and the new earth that will be created by God (Isaiah 65:17; 66:22; 2 Peter 3:13; Revelation 21:1).

The present earth we live in was created in holiness and purity (Genesis 1:1) and our early parents — Adam and Eve dwelt in the Garden of Eden in righteousness having an intimate relationship with God until the fall of man when Adam and Eve disobeyed God and sin came into the world but the cure is Jesus (Romans 5:12).

God has promised to replaced this present sinful world with a new earth i.e. the new heavens and the new earth (Isaiah 66:22). So I ask again, could Jesus be referring to this present earth or the future new heavens and new earth or both?

Jesus was probably implying that the humble will inherit the good things of the earth. The Bible has made us understand that this earth and everything in it is temporary and we should not lay too much emphasis on it because everything we gather will perish (Matthew 6:19-20).

Matthew 6:19-20: “Lay not up for yourselves treasures upon earth, where moth and rust doth corrupt, and where thieves break through and steal: [20] But lay up for yourselves treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal:”

If Jesus taught that we should not lay treasure of what have inherited in the earth then what should be do with the inheritance from the earth of Matthew 5:5? A case study of someone who got punished for laying up treasure for himself was the rich man who laid up treasure for himself but never knew his time to depart the world had come (Luke 12:16-21).

Since the current earth will pass away (Luke 21:33), Jesus most likely was referring to the earth of the future new heavens and new earth that will be created by God after this present earth is rolled away.

The inheritance of anyone in this present earth for good conduct should be the joy and happiness that flows into the heart for doing what is right (Galatians 5:22-23). Every other form of inheritance like comfort and wealth is not for the individual alone but for the benefit of others most especially the poor and the needy (Matthew 19:21). There is virtually nothing else to inherit in this present earth because all is vanity and temporary (Ecclesiastes 1:2).

In the new heavens and the new earth, there shall be no more weeping or pain (for the old things has passed away) and the new earth shall be inherited and inhabited by the meek, saints and all who overcome sin in this present sinful world (Revelation 21:4; 2:26).

Be part of it! (Matthew 3:2).

Religion / Application Of Matthew 18:18: Whatever You Bind On Earth Will Be Bound In Heaven by FaithfulServant(m): 5:11pm On Nov 07, 2017
Application of Matthew 18:18: “Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven”

Do you know that a Bible verse in scripture can have more than one meaning and application? I will say that some verses in the scripture is like a stem with different branches and leaves and Matthew 18:18 is not an exception. It all depends on the application and meanings revealed by the Spirit at that given point in time (Matthew 10:27).

Just as it is written in Matthew 18:18: “Verily I say unto you, Whatsoever ye shall bind on earth shall be bound in heaven: and whatsoever ye shall loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.”

This also is repeated almost verbatim in Matthew 16:19 when Jesus promised to give Peter the keys to the kingdom of heaven.

As children of God, we have authority over the kingdom of darkness and over all the powers of the enemies (Luke 10:19; Psalm 91:13) and we wrestle not against flesh and blood but against principalities and powers in high places (Ephesians 6:12). By the power bestowed on us by Jesus and through prayer and supplication (Philippians 4:6; Ephesians 6:18) whatever we bind on earth shall be bound in heaven and whatever we loose also on earth shall be loosed in heaven (Matthew 18:18).

Whatever we decree on earth is also acted upon in heaven. A case study of this is Daniel in Daniel 10 when he prayed and fasted (Daniel 10:2-3) and heaven acted after being heard by God (Daniel 10:12). Though the forces of darkness waged war to prevent his prayers to be answered, but his prayer was answered eventually (Daniel 10:1-21).

The days of Daniel was in the days of old when Jesus was yet to come to the world to die for our sins and since Jesus Christ has come to die for the sins of man, no agent, demon or devil himself can wage war against the prayers of the children of God prayed in the name of Jesus because at the mention of the name “Jesus” all knees bow and all tongues confess that Jesus Christ is the Lord (Philippians 2:9-11) and there is power in the name of Jesus to break every chain and let loose (Acts 12:7; John 11:44).

Another application of Matthew 18:18, is on the authority bestowed on the spiritual heads of the church on biblical issues and disciplinary conducts. The spiritual head has the authority to humbly discipline anyone who goes contrary to the laws of the scriptures and the laws of God (1 Timothy 5:20). This authority is from God because it is God who set the spiritual heads on the positions as leaders (1 Corinthians 12:28), with Christ the overall head of the church (Ephesians 5:23).

For example when someone is placed on a church discipline, he is bound by the leadership and it’s also recorded in heaven (Matthew 18:18). That individual should not out of annoyance leave the church at that given point in time as this may attract some eternal consequences.

We have been told in the scriptures to be subject to higher powers and obey what is commanded so long it’s in alliance with the scriptures.

Titus 3:1: “Put them in mind to be subject to principalities and powers, to obey magistrates, to be ready to every good work,”

It is God who placed us under a particular church and we should not leave for trivial reasons except for situations like the church teaching that which is not in alliance with the scripture or immoralities right inside the church (Revelation 2:20).

Gospel Assignment on Prayer

For God’s own word made known before Him is also made manifest before the sight of men.

This has both literal and figurative meaning, but go find out what it means (Matthew 9:13).

Scriptural Guide:

1 Corinthians 14:2

Hebrews 4:12

Matthew 8:8

Romans 8:26, 27

How many of us has got the answer to this riddle?

I tell you the truth, it’s a mystery (Colossians 1:26).
Religion / Understanding The Ways Of God by FaithfulServant(m): 5:37pm On Nov 06, 2017
How well do you know the ways of God? Many have concluded that the ways of God is “mysterious”, but I will say that the ways of God is glorious instead. No wonder after God parted the red sea through the staff He provided for Moses, the children of Israel wondered at the mighty and glorious ways of God (Exodus 15:11). Even Moses at some certain point in time desired to know the glorious ways of God (Exodus 33:13).

We were all created in the knowledge of God to know and live in His ways, but since the fall of man in the very beginning of the creation of the world, the ways and truth of God departed man because sin came into the world and the way of man became completely different from that of God (Isaiah 55:9).

God whose very nature is righteousness (Psalm 45:7), couldn’t condole sin and so man was eternally lost from God and was driven from the presence of God by God (Genesis 3:23-24).

In Isaiah 55:8, the Lord God made us understand that His ways is different from the ways of man.

Isaiah 55:8: “For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways, saith the Lord.”

The things that man regard highly may not be that which the Lord esteem highly also. Things that is being mocked and ignored by men can be esteemed highly by God who has chosen the “foolish things” of this world to confound the wise and the weakest things of the world to confound the things seen mighty in the sight of man (1 Corinthians 1:27; James 2:5).

God choosing the foolish things of the world to confound the wise means we are not to overlook little things or disregard anyone because of his or her status quo. God changes times and seasons and can turn the situation of anyone around within the twinkle of an eye and a short period of time (Daniel 2:21). A child born with voice impairment can by the grace of God outgrow the problem and become a great singer; a child born with a speech impairment mocked by friends and family can become a vibrant public speaker (Exodus 4:10-11). That is just how God works. His ways is glorious but He works in mysterious ways.

Despite man deviating from the ways of God and all hope to know the ways of God lost, the Lord God love man so much that He gave man a second chance to know His ways and the second chance is Jesus who is the way the truth and the life and with Jesus, through the help of the Holy Spirit, we can know and understand the ways of God once again because it’s the Holy Spirit that teaches us the ways of God and deep things concerning the Father and the Son ( John 15:26; 14:26).

To know and understand the ways of God, you can by prayer and suplication make the request to understand the ways of God known before Him who gives wisdom and understanding to all who ask (Philippians 4:6; Psalm 25:4; James 1:5).

The world is like a movie and everyone is acting accordingly, with the Holy Bible as the manuscript and manual.

In order to act perfectly, the manuscript has to be studied with all diligence (2 Timothy 2:15; John 5:39), but if out of negligence and nonchalant attitude, the actors neglect the manuscript and act according to own will, they do so at their own peril (Romans 12:2).

In the end of the action film, the actors queue up in front of the judgement seat of the Director (Hebrews 9:27; Revelation 20:12) and every actor is a rewarded according to their display (Revelation 20:12; Revelation 22:12), but those who acts contrary to director’s directives are thrown out of the theater into outer darkness where there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth (Revelation 20:15; Matthew 24:51).

Start acting accordingly to the Director’s manuscript today! (Mark 1:15).

Prayer Gospel

Prayer is like the Google search engine; use the right keywords from the scriptures to get the best result (Luke 18:1; Romans 12:12; 2 Timothy 3:16; John 5:39).

Just like Google, search the scripture diligently (John 5:39) to get the right keywords for prayer e.g. armour of God (Ephesians 6:11), blood of the Lamb (Revelation 12:11) etc.

Ephesians 6:11 KJV
Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil.

Ephesians 6:18
Praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance and supplication for all saints;

Politics / The Major Problem Of The World And Solution by FaithfulServant(m): 3:41pm On Oct 31, 2017
The world was created by God with peace and harmony (Genesis 1:1) until the fall of man through disobedience to God’s word in the Garden of Eden (Genesis 3). The world was created to be devoid of problems like sin, sickness and death but man’s disobedience to God’s instruction not to eat from the forbidden tree brought the whole problems of we see in the world today.

Some have attributed the problem of the world to diverse reasons like politics, religion, with some attributing their problems to witchcraft. While problems may have come from the listed above and many others, they are not the major problem of the world. The major problem of the world is negligence and disobedience to God’s word (Joshua 1:8 ).

The negligence to the word and instructions of God has always been the major problem of the world. Man was created to give glory and honour to God, diligently keeping His commandments (Deuteronomy 6:17). The major duty of man is to keep the commandments of God (Ecclesiastes 12:13) but we all have been deceived by the spirit of the world to think we have any other more serious duty than this (2 Corinthians 4:4; Ephesians 2:2).

In the day of old, during the early existence of man — Adam and Eve, God spoke and gave instruction directly with His presence but today God still speak to us but this time, through His Word — the Holy Bible, written by the inspiration of God and writers wrote as they were moved by the Holy Ghost (2 Timothy 3:16; 2 Peter 1:21). The Holy Bible is given to us as a second chance to obey God after the fatal disobedience by our early parents.

God loves man so much that He sent His only begotten son — Jesus to cancel the disobedience of our early parents that by the obedience of our Lord Jesus Christ many who were made sinners by the disobedience of Adam will be made righteous by the obedience of Christ even unto death on the cross of Calvary (Romans 5:19; Philippians 2:8 ).

Jesus Christ brought hope and without Jesus coming to the world, there would have been no remedy or redemption for man from the “sorry” state which disobedience placed man in. Jesus is the solution to the whole world’s problems. Man should be grateful to God who always has solution every problem and provided one for the world. Without Jesus, all our obedience would be self righteousness which would have been as filthy rags in the sight of God (Isaiah 64:6), but by His atoning blood on the cross, we are made just in the sight of God (Romans 5:9).

Adam and Eve sparked the problem of the world by their disobedience, man continues the same problem by the negligence of God’s word and instruction in the Holy Bible, while God has provided the solution to the problem by making His word (the Holy Bible) available and sending His Son to die for the world (John 3:16), so man is without excuse (Roman 1:20).

Accept the solution which has already been made available to us by diligently obeying God’s commandments (John 14:15) and accepting Jesus into your heart, taking Him as your Shepherd that you should obey, trust and follow (John 10:27).

Visual Gospel

When the eyes stop looking irrelevant ordinary things, the eyes will begin to see relevant extra ordinary things both physically, in dreams and visions (Matthew 6:22; Luke 11:36; Joel 2:28).

Matthew 6:22 KJV
The light of the body is the eye: if therefore thine eye be single, thy whole body shall be full of light.

Luke 11:36
If thy whole body therefore be full of light, having no part dark, the whole shall be full of light, as when the bright shining of a candle doth give thee light.

Joel 2:28
And it shall come to pass afterward, that I will pour out my spirit upon all flesh; and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, your old men shall dream dreams, your young men shall see visions:

Make your eyes clear today by the help of God through His Son Jesus Christ because without your eyes being clear, there would be no visions or dreams (Luke 11:34).

Religion / The Difference Between Being A Child Of God And A Son Of God by FaithfulServant(m): 8:28pm On Oct 29, 2017
The difference between being a child of God and a son of God is simple; it can be compared with ordinary childhood and adulthood.

A child of God can either be a newly converted born-again Christian called newborn babe (1 Peter 2:2), or that which has grown to some extent. A son of God is a person fully grown and able to handle responsibilities on his own (Hebrews 5:14).

A child if God is still tender and cannot handle tough things of God and are given little things to handle for the time being. In 1 Corinthians 3:2, apostle Paul was telling the newly converted followers of Christ that he fed them with little things which he referred to as “milk” because they would not have been able to handle the strong meat because they were still new born babes in Christ (1 Peter 2:2). The “meat” is meant not for the newly converted children of God, but for the fully grown sons of God (Hebrews 5:14).

Hebrews 5:14: “But strong meat belongeth to them that are of full age, even those who by reason of use have their senses exercised to discern both good and evil.”

Children of God are guided and directed by angels (Hebrew 1:13-14), but the sons of God are led by the Spirit of God – the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:14; Galatians 5:18).

Romans 8:14: “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”

At the point of salvation as a newborn babe in Christ, angels may be with you always, directing and guarding your footsteps but as you advance from childhood to adulthood, the Holy Spirit will come within you yielding His fruits in you (Galatians 5:22-23) and giving you gifts also (1 Corinthians 12:7-11).

In Matthew 18:3, Christ was telling His followers to be converted and become as little children. Figuratively, Christ could be telling them to become newborn babes who would require sincere milk of the word to grow to be sons of God (1 Peter 2:2). Humility can also help one grow spiritually to be a son (1 Peter 5:5). Humility and meekness is a character of Christ (Matthew 11:29) and should be emulated by all aspiring sons of God because Christ has set an example that we all should follow (1 Peter 2:21).

Grown up sons of God should direct the children of God so that when the children grow to sons and daughters of God, they can as well do the same to the new born babes in Christ that they may continue to walk in the newness of their spiritual life and christian living (Roman 6:4).

The difference between childhood and sonship is responsibility Gal 4:1-7. However, it is possible for someone to still be a child when God expects him to be a son. It is possible for a 30 year old christian to be a child and a 2 year old in the faith to be a son. Fervent study of the word and prayer will move a man/woman from childhood to sonship.

Very true and correct. Thanks

Oledia:

When you just get born again, you are a baby/babe. At this level you don't need strong meat. By prayer and a continual study/listening of the word (at this stage milk) you grow up to be a child. At the level of childhood you are more experience in the things of the Lord than the baby/babe. By the time you grow up to the level of getting direct messages and revelations from the lord, you are no more a baby/babe or child, but son. A father of 80yrs of age cannot call someone of 30yrs he gave birth to his baby or his child, but his son. Why? Because he is grown up. He has reached the level of taking responsibilities. THIS IS MY OPINION.

That is your opinion but believe me, you're absolutely correct. I even learned much more from this; thank you very much
