Leave English. Osibanjo should have stepped down. If he lost this primaries it will be over for him and if APC should win the general elections then it will be over for him as he will forever be seen as a betrayer.

What do you mean it will be over for him? Only God can say that. Tinubu is viewed a betrayal in many ways, but it is not yet over for him. And what happens if APC did not win?

What do you mean he should have stepped down? Crude African poor mentality. Is it a crime to contest and lose? Buhari lost s verally, atiku has been losing a lot, Abraham Lincoln lost serially. Must everyone step down for tinubu, so you can clap, or what? Those who stepped down are clearly unserious and unreliae.

The victory of Tinubu against Atiku will only happen if Buhari throws his weight behind him, and gets the North to fall in line!

Anything short of that, Atiku will stroll to victory!

Of all the comments I have been reading here, I feel the sense in yours more. Winning primaries now is not as much as the real thing. Abiola, Buhari, Jonathan once won primaries but lost the real thing.

Three armed robbers/touts infiltrated the EndSARS protesters at Alausa, Ikeja, snatched a lady's phone and they were lynched, beaten and deposited at the entrance of the Lagos Assembly gate this afternoon.
Their names are Sulaimọn Ayinde, Damilọla Balogun and Niyi. They were beaten almost to coma. One of them was armed with cutlass and axe to scare away the youths while he was running to escape, but the youths/students out-powered him and rained beatings on them.

Good morning everyone, I sincerely appreciate the advices I have gotten here as well as the condemnations, yes I deserved it. I really hope this ordeal of mine will deter others from committing such a grievous mistake.

In the past days I've been preparing myself really hard to speak out the truth and face the consequences, I pray God gives me the strength to let it all out. However, it would be unwise to tell the truth without having any means yet to start repaying my debt, that would deteriorate my mental health.

I hereby wanna humbly ask for a favor from concerned individuals, I'd be glad if anyone can link me up with a physical job or even an online job to start with. By God's grace, I'll be able to pick myself up and overcome this ordeal. Please do not doubt my integrity because of my misdeed. Thanks Y'all.

FOR I BELIEVE, THIS SHALL PASS.

It's pathetic really what you went through, but I feel your emotions. I commend your courage to even let d cat of the bag here.

My advice to you is a bit different.

One, the mistake you made was not being smart enough, or not even smart at all. I too got my fingers burnt severally on betting but I later got it right and smart. I am not encouraging you to go back, but analysing your issue through the window of my personal experience.

IBros, I can confidently tell you that greed and lack of smartness causes loss in betting. In football betting, accumulation of games is a killer. Many odds of 1.5 or 1.2 are so easy to win, just one game. But being driven by d urge to win you accumulate n tickets keep cutting

I don't do football betting because it is a killer, slower, riskier. I stake on basketball and water polo, and basketball is a bang. Easy, less risky and rewarding. I only do live matches, and would never accumulate. Also my daily target set for myself is 3k. Once I won 3k profit,vi close shop no matter d urge.

Anyway, my candid advise is for you to get a job. If you're around Lagos I can help you out. I work as a correspondent at gov office. Just Whatsapp me on 08038634494 let's see if a job could click for u
Religion / Re: What Is The Difference Between Soul And Spirit? by Faitholu(m): 9:31am On Jun 28, 2020
You would surely find this deep explanation useful. Pls WhatsApp me on 08038634494 in case you need one-on-one comment or clarification. Cheers.

"Soul” and “Spirit”—What Do These Terms Really Mean?

WHEN you hear the terms “soul” and “spirit,” what comes to your mind? Many believe that these words mean something invisible and immortal that exists inside us. They think that at death this invisible part of a human leaves the body and lives on. Since this belief is so widespread, many are surprised to learn that it is not at all what the Bible teaches. What, then, is the soul, and what is the spirit, according to God’s Word?

“SOUL” AS USED IN THE BIBLE
First, consider the soul. You may remember that the Bible was originally written mainly in Hebrew and Greek. When writing about the soul, the Bible writers used the Hebrew word neʹphesh or the Greek word psy·kheʹ. These two words occur well over 800 times in the Scriptures, and the New World Translation renders them “soul,” either in the main text or in footnotes. When you examine the way “soul” or “souls” is used in the Bible, it becomes evident that this word basically refers to (1) people, (2) animals, or (3) the life that a person or an animal has. Let us consider some scriptures that present these three different senses.

People. “In Noah’s day . . . a few people, that is, eight souls, were carried safely through the water.” (1 Peter 3:20) Here the word “souls” clearly stands for people—Noah, his wife, his three sons, and their wives. Exodus 16:16 mentions instructions given to the Israelites regarding the gathering of manna. They were told to gather it “according to the number of the people [“souls,” footnote]” that each of them had in his tent. So the amount of manna that was gathered was based on the number of people in each family. Some other Biblical examples of the application of “soul” or “souls” to a person or to people are in the footnotes found at Genesis 46:18; Joshua 11:11; Acts 27:37; and Romans 13:1.

Animals. In the Bible’s creation account, we read: “Then God said: ‘Let the waters swarm with living creatures [“souls,” footnote], and let flying creatures fly above the earth across the expanse of the heavens.’ Then God said: ‘Let the earth bring forth living creatures [“souls,” footnote] according to their kinds, domestic animals and creeping animals and wild animals of the earth according to their kinds.’ And it was so.” (Genesis 1:20, 24) In this passage, fish, domestic animals, and wild animals are all referred to by the same word—“souls.” Birds and other animals are called souls in the footnotes found at Genesis 9:10; Leviticus 11:46; and Numbers 31:28.

Life of a person. Sometimes the word “soul” means the life of a person. Jehovah told Moses: “All the men who were seeking to kill you [“seeking your soul,” footnote] are dead.” (Exodus 4:19) What were Moses’ enemies trying to do? They were seeking to take Moses’ life. Earlier, while Rachel was giving birth to her son Benjamin, “her life was slipping away [“her soul was going out,” footnote].” (Genesis 35:16-19) At that time, Rachel lost her life. Consider also Jesus’ words: “I am the fine shepherd; the fine shepherd surrenders his life [“soul,” footnote] in behalf of the sheep.” (John 10:11) Jesus gave his soul, or life, in behalf of mankind. In these Bible passages, or in the footnotes, the word “soul” clearly refers to the life of a person. You will find more examples of this sense of “soul” either in the text or in the footnotes found at 1 Kings 17:17-23; Matthew 10:39; John 15:13; and Acts 20:10.

A further study of God’s Word will show you that nowhere in the entire Bible are the terms “immortal” or “everlasting” linked with the word “soul.” Instead, the Scriptures state that a soul is mortal, meaning that it dies. (Ezekiel 18:4, 20) Therefore, the Bible calls someone who has died simply a “dead soul.”—Leviticus 21:11, footnote.

THE “SPIRIT” IDENTIFIED
Let us now consider the Bible’s use of the term “spirit.” Some people think that “spirit” is just another word for “soul.” However, that is not the case. The Bible makes clear that “spirit” and “soul” refer to two different things. How do they differ?

Bible writers used the Hebrew word ruʹach or the Greek word pneuʹma when writing about the “spirit.” The Scriptures themselves indicate the meaning of those words. For instance, Psalm 104:29 states: “If you [Jehovah] take away their spirit [ruʹach], they die and return to the dust.” And James 2:26 notes that “the body without spirit [pneuʹma] is dead.” In these verses, then, “spirit” refers to that which gives life to a body. Without spirit, the body is dead. Therefore, in the Bible the word ruʹach is translated not only as “spirit” but also as “force,” or life-force. For example, concerning the Flood in Noah’s day, God said: “I am going to bring floodwaters upon the earth to destroy from under the heavens all flesh that has the breath [ruʹach] of life.” (Genesis 6:17; 7:15, 22) “Spirit” thus refers to an invisible force (the spark of life) that animates all living creatures.

A portable radio without any electrical or battery power source
The soul and the spirit are not the same. The body needs the spirit in much the same way as a radio needs electricity—in order to function. To illustrate this further, think of a portable radio. When you put batteries in a portable radio and turn it on, the electricity stored in the batteries brings the radio to life, so to speak. Without batteries, however, the radio is dead. So is another kind of radio when it is unplugged from an electric outlet. Similarly, the spirit is the force that brings our body to life. Also, like electricity, the spirit has no feeling and cannot think. It is an impersonal force. But without that spirit, or life-force, our bodies “die and return to the dust” as the psalmist stated.

Speaking about man’s death, Ecclesiastes 12:7 states: “The dust [of his body] returns to the earth, just as it was, and the spirit returns to the true God who gave it.” When the spirit, or life-force, leaves the body, the body dies and returns to where it came from—the earth. Comparably, the life-force returns to where it came from—God. (Job 34:14, 15; Psalm 36:9) This does not mean that the life-force actually travels to heaven. Rather, it means that for someone who dies, any hope of future life rests with Jehovah God. His life is in God’s hands, so to speak. Only by God’s power can the spirit, or life-force, be given back so that a person may live again.

How comforting it is to know that this is exactly what God will do for all of those resting in “the memorial tombs”! (John 5:28, 29) At the time of the resurrection, Jehovah will form a new body for a person sleeping in death and bring it to life by putting spirit, or life-force, in it. What a joyful day that will be!

If you would like to learn more about the terms “soul” and “spirit” as used in the Bible, you will find valuable information in the brochure What Happens to Us When We Die? and on pages 375-384 of the book Reasoning From the Scriptures, both published by Jehovah’s Witnesses.
Politics / Re: Bayelsa: Supreme Court Hears Application For Review Of Judgment Sacking Lyon by Faitholu(m): 1:29pm On Feb 26, 2020
Judgement delivered just now, Douye Diri remain the Governor. APC application thrown our like bad water

On Wednesday, 26 February, the Supreme Court upheld its decision on Bayelsa election which removed David Lyon as Governor-elect and reconfirmed Douye Diri as winner.

When the earlier verdict did not go down well with APC, it applied that the Supreme Court should revisit the issue and reverse itself. So, today being the appointed day, there was tight security around the court premises.

Governor Douye Diri of Bayelsa, Adams Oshiomhole, All Progressives Congress Chairman, supporters of the parties in the dispute and others were in court.

It was Chief Afe Babalola, a Senior Advocate of Nigeria, who led the team of lawyers for Lyon and his deputy.

All were all ears as the seven-member panel headed by Justice Sylvester Ngwuta pronounced the upholding of the court’s earlier verdict.

The party, in an application filed by its team of lawyers led by Wole Olanipekun (SAN) and Lateef Fagbemi (SAN), also wants the apex court, according to a newsguru report, to set aside the “wrong” interpretation given to its judgement of February 13, 2020 and its subsequent execution by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

‘The party is, among others, contending that the Supreme Court, in its judgement, misinterpreted the November 12, 2019 judgement of the Federal High Court, Abuja which it (the Supreme Court) affirmed.

The APC argued that the Supreme Court acted without jurisdiction and denied the APC fair hearing when it proceeded to disqualify its governorship candidate even though the Federal High Court, in the judgement by Justice Inyang Ekwo, which the apex court affirmed, refused PDP’s prayer to disqualify Lyon.

The party also faulted the interpretation given to the apex court’s judgement by the INEC in deciding to issue the certificate of return to the candidate of the PDP.’

“In this honourable court’s judgement of 13th February, 2020, the court erroneously and inadvertently stated that the trial High Court consequentially disqualified the applicant‘s governorship candidate even though the trial court made no such order and when the trial court indeed refused to grant the express orders sought by the plaintiffs therein for his disqualification,” APC averred.

Don't bother yourself about looking for solution on how to quit masturbation, it never works!
It is only ageing, regular sex or denying youself the privacy of being alone when the urge comes that can put an end to masturbation.
Masturbation is harmless unless from the religious angle. Even when it comes to religion, if you can masturbate without thinking about sex, it is not a sin.
How you can achieve that fit of masturbating without thinking about sex is left for you.
Finally, think about this before self guilt kills you that nature is in support of masturbation, have you ever wondered why you can't tickle youself but you can excite your sexual organs?

Also if you can muster the strenght to pray once the urge comes. After prayer, open your bible and read any portion with the aim of getting something out, talk loud to the masturbation urge saying No, no, i wont let you win me. You would conquer. Politics / Two Days To Poll: Court Sacks Bayelsa APC Governorship Candidate by Faitholu(m): 1:42pm On Nov 14, 2019
A Federal High Court sitting in Yenagoa, on Thursday nullified the governorship primaries that produced Chief David Lyon as the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC), for the Nov. 16 poll in the state.

Delivering judgment, Justice Jane Inyang, held that the primaries were conducted arbitrarily outside the rules of the party.

The suit filed by Sen. Heineken Lokpobiri, challenged conduct of the governorship primaries of APC which held on September 4.

She held that since the process was conducted in violation of the party’s constitution and guidelines as clearly spelt out for the conduct of governorship primaries, none of the aspirants should be fielded as the party’s candidate.

She therefore restrained the Independent Electoral Commission (INEC), from including Lyon as the APC candidate in the governorship election slated for Saturday.

Inyang noted that according to the APC guidelines for the conduct of the 2019 governorship primaries, the results were expected to be declared by the returning officer for the pre-election, Gov. Mai Kala Buni of Yobe and not Sen. Emmanuel Ochega, Secretary of the election Committee.

Inyang also held that the APC violated its own rules in the composition of the election panel when it constituted a one-member committee and not seven members as stipulated in the party rules.

“It has been established by judicial authorities and several judgments that political parties are bound by their own rules, the committee that conducted the primary threw caution to the winds and it is my ruling that the primaries stand nullified.

“The results announced by Sen Emmanuel Ochega is not valid as he is not the returning officer for the election.

“And I make an order restraining INEC from recognising any of the aspirants that participated in the said primaries”,Inyang said.

Lokpobiri had approached the court, to challenge the emergence of Mr David Lyon as the APC governorship candidate in the state.

Listed as respondents in the case are the APC, Lyon and the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC).

Lokpobiri had claimed that he won the September 4 governorship primaries conducted by the APC, using the direct primary mode.

The aspirants, who participated in the September 4, APC governorship primaries in the state, included Lokpobiri, Aganaba Steven, Ebitimi Amgbare, Diseye Poweigha, David Lyon and Ongoebi Etebu.

NAN reports that a former Cross River Resident Electoral Commissioner, Briyai Frankland, was disqualified.

Former Minister of Aviation, Femi Fani-Kayode has described the Minister of Power, Babatunde Fashola as a shallow-minded and overrated individual who only cares about his ambitions.

Fani-Kayode rolled the heavy knock on the minister following his comments on Nigeria roads.

Speaking shortly after the Federal Executive Council meeting on Wednesday, Fashola insisted that reports on the poor state of the country’s roads were mere hypes.

He said: “The roads are not as bad as they are often portrayed. I know that this is going to be your headline, but the roads are not that bad”.

This comment from the minister has earned him heavy criticism from Nigerians and Fani-Kayode known for his staunch criticism of President Buhari’s administration didn’t let this pass without passing his comment.

Fani-Kayode said on Thursday: “I have always believed that Tunde is shallow, limited, intellectually dishonest, overrated, loyal only to his own ambition and not too bright. He also has a big chip on his shoulder. With these words, he has proved it.”

Please stop this Yoruba's are naive nonsense. This country would have been better if the northerners and easterners are like our Yoruba brethren. I believe they are the ones still holding Nigeria together. Whoever wins, PDP or APC, there would be Yorubas in the government. I really don't understand the marginalisation you are talking about. A Yoruba man was president from 1999 to 2007, then speaker of the house of rep for four years, etc.

I support one Nigeria. Enough of this division.
