@ poster Ur daughter is just a typical young teenager; naive and impressionable, also highly sensitive, so be careful. I suggest u live her alone. Pray 4 her and thank God she is not yet experimenting with satanism or atheism like Seun Osewa. lol. Nah its nuthin to worry about. Just think back to all the things you felt, thought or did when you were 13 and you'll understand what she is going thru now. Good luck. |

Deariekay, if you need your cars to sell and sell quickly, you need to learn to post comprehensive pictures. Interior, Exterior, Engine, etc. This your style of showing close-up shots of a headlamp or the rear of the car wont fly. Borrow a leaf from Viperman. Good luck |
Sports / Re: First Round Match: Nigeria (2) Vs Benin (0)! by fakande(m): 12:53pm On Jan 30, 2008 |
Emad: I do not know why we Nigerians are so cynical. If you do not have faith in these boys, atleast pray for them to succeed and avoid given expression to your faithlessness!!! I strongly believe that you were one of those that had foreclosed any chance for them crossing into the q.finals before the match yesterday. Now they went thru miraculously and you are already weaving your spells over their performance against Ghana. God will continue to prevail against all your (you and other negative posters) evil thoughts. In the 2002 world cup, France, defending champions at the time, crashed out of the first round after losing to lowly rated teams as Senegal and Denmark and not scoring a single goal. The country kept faith with their team and they were back to winning ways in no time. The fact of the matter is that you can never satisfy a Nigerian. You can imagine some jokers already flying the kite of Kanu Nwankwo taking over from Berti!! How ludricrous!!! While I agree that Berti should have scouted for some home grown talents, the fact is that the team he went with is also ok. Matter of fact, apart from the Ivorians, the Eagles have what I would call a near perfect team. We must never forget that this is the peak football tourney in Africa and the teams that qualified did so by defeating sound opposition in the qualifiers. Thus, they are not in the AFCON to sell groundnuts. The same God that has seen us into the Q. Finals will see us thru and even if we lose against Ghana, we will thank god for the grace to get to that level and prepare better for the next tourney. It is time we start reasoning logically rather than emotionally and stop looking for scape goats each time the Eagles perform dismally. |
Celebrities / Another Nigerian Breaking Into Hollywood by fakande(m): 3:17pm On Jan 21, 2008 |
His name is Nonso Anozie and he is a Nigerian with a background in stage acting. He starred in two recently released movies "The Last Legion" alongside Sir Ben Kingsley and Collin Firth. He also featured in "Atonement" I think he has a bright future just like Chiwetel Ejiofor. I hear he (Chiwetel) may be playing the role of the DC Comic superhero Black Panther (T'Challa) later in the year.

@ topic So what?!!! She's got four kids. How many women look as good as she does after one. Though I do not quite subscribe to the "omosexy" persona she and the media tout so much, I think she looks really good for a mother of four kids. |
Politics / Re: Nuhu Ribadu: A Villain Or Hero? by fakande(m): 4:25pm On Jan 17, 2008 |
Nuhu Ribadu is neither a hero nor a villain. He was just a guy who had a job to do and did it to the best of his employer's ability |

Poems For Review / Insomnia by fakande(m): 4:05pm On Jan 15, 2008 |
Insomnia Yearning for forty winks Hanging on delusional reveries Unhinging fettered fantasies Chasing soporific illusions Coming around again Those tempestuous ruminations Beguiled anguished musings Racking the crevices of my lobes Spasmodic visions of you Endless jactitations taking over Cravings leave me feverish Leaving me wet and shivering Blissful calm comes sweeping Tagging after waves of ecstasy My eyes close and I drift into oblivion Teetering on the brink of sanity |
Religion / Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by fakande(m): 3:56pm On Jan 15, 2008 |
BillGatesFan: Unfortunately my friend, these are not the old days. Culture and tradition are constantly evolving. Tradition only became so because a certain people adopted a certain way or procedure of doing things. Over time, however, newer ways have evolved and those, at various stages became "tradition." You will agree with me that even in the so-called "traditional" marriages, hardly any mention is made to age long deities and demi-gods. Rather, any recourse to divinity is made to the Muslim or Christian God. So, while such ceremonies essentially retain age-long procedure, (breaking of kola, palm wine carrying etc) they are more or less ceremonial in nature and nothing more, which is why most people still resort to the Church or the mosque for the "real" wedding. |
Religion / Re: Lovemaking After Traditional Wedding Only: Is This Fornication? by fakande(m): 1:32pm On Jan 15, 2008 |
It depends on how you look at it. During this ceremonies, prayers are offered up to some form of religiious divinities. If you are a christian and the elder who oversaw the ceremony prayed in the name of Jesus, then methinks you are validly wedded. But if you subscribe to the christian faith but prayers were offered to such gods as Ogun, Obatala, Sango, Amadioha, etc during the traditional wedding, then you might want to retake your vows in a church or before a man of the cloth. |

Celebrities / Re: Emeke Ike Vs Jim Iyke by fakande(m): 4:34pm On Jan 09, 2008 |
Neither! To start with, both are lousy actors. Emeka rolls his eyes like a flippin gay and Jim Iyke has this horrible way of trying to fake an american accent. But if put a gun to my head and force me to make a choice, I'll pick Emeka. He has an edge over Iyke in acting and he also looks better. Can someone tell him to stop rolling his eyes, anybody, |
Celebrities / Re: Charlize Theron Is The Best African Actress by fakande(m): 4:09pm On Jan 09, 2008 |
What qualifies Charlize to be called the best African actress? First of, she aint African. She is a pure white woman whose ancestors settled in Africa. Secondly, she been lucky to bag a few A-list roles because of her looks and she performed averagely well. Give those same roles to a Genevieve or an Omotola any day and I'm sure they'll deliver. If you want to celebrate Africans in Hollywood, talk about Djimon Honsou or even our own Chiwetel Ejiofor. If any artiste wants to be recognized as an African act, you should look and sound it. This is my personal opinion. |
Politics / Re: Ribadu's Removal Is Long Overdue? by fakande(m): 2:18pm On Jan 05, 2008 |
@ Afam D fact that Ribadu claims he rejected N2Billion, if in deed such an amount was offered, is no proof that he ddint collect bribe. Even an averagely intelligient person knows that receiving even a dime from Ibori is akin to drinking from a poisoned chalice, the attendant repercussions will be dire. I asked earlier where Ribadu got money to buy Ehindero's former house. I have received no answer. Please, Ribadu is nothing better than an average Nigerian. All this sanctimonious posturing are nothing but a facade. Like his former paymaster, Obasanjo, the truth will soon come to light. |
Politics / Re: Ribadu's Removal Is Long Overdue? by fakande(m): 1:50pm On Jan 05, 2008 |
@ Linuxuser I noticed that in ur list of all the looters who did not serve Nigeria with integrity, you mistakenly left out Obasanjo, I mean, it was a mistake right? I thot so too, |
Politics / Re: Obasanjo's 8 Years Tenure Will Not Be Probed - Presidential Aide by fakande(m): 5:05pm On Jan 04, 2008 |
Obasanjo will definitely be probed. The corruption perpetrated under his watch is definitely too monumental to sweep under the carpet. The money he and his cohorts looted in the name of building new and refurbishing old roads and ensuring improvements in the energy sector is alarming. I may be wrong, but I view Ribadu's removal as a masterstroke by this Goverment as a precursor to initiating a silent probe into the affairs of Obasanjo. Ribadu, unfortunately had evolved into a media junkie who thrived on undue publicity which would be counter-productive. I see the appointment of a new EFCC chairman whose main focus would be on Obasanjo and the numerous shenanigans perpetrated by him and others at his behest. But like I said earlier, I just may be wrong, my instincts tell me I'm not. |
Politics / Re: Ribadu's Removal Is Long Overdue? by fakande(m): 4:44pm On Jan 04, 2008 |
I feel sad to read the posts of young Nigerians like myself working hard at making a mountain out of a molehill. So what if Ribadu is sent on course or even sacked? I think its about time we begin to realize that no man is indispensable and also that there is always someone better for the job. Ribadu is primarily a policeman who was used by Obasanjo to set a bad precedent. He moved 2 steps into the senior officer cadre of the force without the requisite academic and intellectual requirements. He was thus recommended for further training by the police and it was approved by the President. What is the big deal in that? We speak of Ribadu as if without him, the nation, if it so determines, cannot fight corruption. Where did he get the money to buy Ehindero's former official residence in Abuja? That house was valued at well over N100 million. Lets face the fact, Ribadu availed himself of an opportunity given him to serve and performed averagely well, given the circumstances under which he operated. There is, however, no doubt that he was used by the former President to hound his political enemies into submission, a task at which, he excelled far and above the actual job of fighting corruption. Dangiwa Umar might be a whole lot of things, going by the plethora of names he has been called by certain ignorant individuals on this thread. But it is on record that he is one of the few military men that voluntarily resigned their commission at the peak of a promising career and spoke out vocally against the same regime they helped to enthrone and in which they played a prominent role. I wonder how many times the "highly credible" Ribadu spoke out against the obvious high level of corruption that was been perpetrated by the Presidency under Obasanjo's watch. |

Family / Re: Twice Unfaithful And Lazy Husband: Should I End This Marriage? by fakande(m): 4:17pm On Nov 28, 2007 |
@D-reloaded Girl u r such a cynic! Y u so mad? @ poster I think the issue with some of u women is that u become "too strong" for ur men. WAIT!!! Before u crucify me ;D I am married and I used to have issues with my wife complaining about how laid back I am and all dat bullshiznit. The truth is that I kinda got used to her been strong and independent. I mean, she would first take decisions and tell me about them later. Me not wanting to be trouble some or a kill joy, would accept it without a question. Over time, I got used to her that way and stopped bothering myself about certain things in our home. I could easily have passed for the "lazy" husband at the time. Thankfully, things are baack to normal now and we are very happy. My dear, get back to been a woman, aint nuthin wrong with that. About the physical abuse, is it a regular thing? If it is, then you need to seek help urgently. But if it is just a one off thing, then u should forgive your husband, talk things out with him and be his wife again. Divorce should be the very last option. God help you. |
