Religion / Re: Why Don't We Have Super Powers Anymore by farotika(m): 8:37am On Feb 10, 2009 |
Jesus said: "f any man believe in me, the work dat I do will he do also, greater work than this will he do because I go unto my father" He also said: "When I come back to the world, will I meet faith on earth?" The promises of God are still yea and amen. The problem we have is our faithlessness. Faith simply means: Forsaking All, I Trust Him. But today, a lot of things have clouded our mind and taken the position of God in our life. The Devil has clouded our heart with the affairs of this world. We dont want to wait on God, we want to make it quickly thru any means possible forgetting dat the eyes of God are purer than to behold iniquity. If Jesus had fallen to the temptation of the devil and bowed down to the devil in exchange for the possession of this world, then Jesus would have fallen out of place with God but he was able to resist the temptation and thereby became the saviour of the world. Concerning the issue of human life span, God Himself b/cos of our continued sinful nature had at one time or the other reduced the life span of human being; the last reduction was to 70 years. Moreover, a good x-tian will not wish to spent 200 years in this sinful world when he knows he would be seeing God whenever he closes his eyes in death. Shallom! |

To me, this is not something one should be ashamed of. In fact, I'm proud to learn Yoruba people do that Notwithstanding, other tribes (mostly igbos and hausas) do this more often in reality. |

davidif: I think we should be proud of our native tongue. If I can, I will learn to speak other Nigerian languages apart from my own. I'll be so interesting. English language to me is foreign and according to Fela, it lacks expression. Thank you very much Arnold for your revelation. By the way, y the name Arnold, its foreign; y not give urself: Zik or Tafawa etc |

@ poster, I will advise you to go back to history of RCC and u'll realize they are not Christians (Act 11:26; X-tians are those u believe what Christ believe and leave like him). This so-called church has killed many x-tians and even burn many alive just because they preached Christ. The RCC of old made it a sin punishable by death if anybody was caught reading the Bible. Should they be the one to teach us about the sword of the spirit? |

Family / Re: Please Share The Challenges You Faced Before Marriage by farotika(m): 8:20am On Feb 06, 2009 |
First, I'm from Ondo state and my wife is from Ogun state (Ijebu-Ode). Moreover, her parents are muslim while I'm a christian. We dated for 10 years before we got married. During the early part of our relationship, her parents told her she could not get marry to a christian hence, she should find a way of putting an end to the relationship. Not long after dat, I went home and my dad asked me about my relationship (we are very close) and I told him. He gave me a thousand and one reasons why I must not marry an Ijebu woman. Notwithstanding, i was able to talk him out of it. After about 2 years into the relationship, the pressure from my angel's parents were so much that we had to painfully let things go. We stopped seeing each other for some times, but we kept contacts cos our hearts could not let go. After she finished from school, she was able to convince her dad about her resolve to stay sticked by me no matter what. To God be the glory, today we are together as huband and wife; can't bargain for more |

yimiton: @ sara j & poster, For God's sake both of you should try as much as possible to follow yimi's instruction, it will go a long way to help you solve this problem. Note that the success or otherwise of your marriage depends solely on you. The good book says: a wise woman builds her house while a foolish woman pulls hers down with her own hands. Please choose to be wise. |
