Angelfrost: Were the last elections conducted electronically??! Did Multichoice require voters to go through tedious and tenuous voting processes??!... Be objective please!!! One has a direct impact on Nigeria the other one doesn't. So it worth the stress if you ask me |

seunmsg: I like and respect Prof. Banji Akintoye a lot but what he’s trying to achieve with the secessionist movement is very unrealistic. The only way to achieve Oduduwa republic is through war and nothing else. It is an unrealistic and destructive venture and I will urge him to quickly retrace his steps.
I also have a feeling that some unseen forces are backing him just to truncate Yorubas chances of producing the next president of Nigeria. Whatever the case is, it’s an idea that can’t fly for now. You were making sense untill the last paragraph. One question for you. Does a Yoruba president put food on anyone's table? How does a Yoruba president benefit the Yoruba. What exactly did Obasanjo do for the Yoruba race? A yoruba president is like Arsenal winning a trophy. doesn't affect me in any way. To hell with the rotation system. It makes no sense. So because of war we should not seek to make our future better as a people? Anyone who is against the imminent distintegration of Nigeria is not okay. |

Vyzz: WAR WAR WAR....
War is all we humans know and and understand....
To us Peace is an illusion. And no matter how tranquil the world seems, peace doesn't last long. Peace is a struggle against our very nature. A skin we stretch over the bone, muscle, and sinew of our own innate savagery. I doubt war like world war 2 can be fought for the next 500 years. There's is economic warfare now and it much more effective for those who have the power |
Christianity Etc › Re: 2800-Year-Old Inscription Affirms Bible Character, Balaam Whose Donkey Talked To by Fash20: 11:48am On Sep 27, 2020 |
kingxsamz: It's not rocket science. Certain stories/names in the bible were adapted from somewhere or events that actually happened. Same way the Spider-Man movie is based in a real location, (New York) but we can't conclude that a man who shoots spider webs and flies in the air exists. But I don't expect much from folks who won't read the article but jump into conclusions that a donkey once talked simply because an inscription which contained a name was found. It's only a brain dead mofo that'll believe a snake and donkey talked simply because a 2000 year old book said so. But you'll call these same archeologists liars when they show you 'alleged' bone fossils of Dinosaurs. Who is fooling who? You're correct. the story of Noah was adapted from the epic of Gilgamesh. |

Etinosa1234: U are not entirely correct
Spain has other tribes like the Basque, Catalonia
Germany has a minority tribe that speaks Sorbian French has an area in Alsace-Lorraine that speaks German tho that's only 3% of the entire French population Portugal also has a region in their country that speaks mirandese...
I don't think there is any country esp the large ones that has an homogeneous culture given their history... Good point but I bet you can hardly differentiate the culture of the minorities you mentioned and majority people in that country. But I am certain you can differentiate an Hausa man from an Igbo man from a mile away. |

Foreign Affairs › Re: Ghana's Western Togoland Region Declares Sovereignty by Fash20: 11:20am On Sep 26, 2020 |
WoundedLamb: You have a point.
But then again, splitting isn't necessarily an African thing. Former USSR splitted, North and South Korea splitted. Québec has had multiple referendums to split away from Canada, etc.
Along what lines should a continent as diverse as Africa split? It will only be a matter of years before the new countries start splitting again. Besides, the effects of splitting affects generations unborn cause families might be separated if care is not taken and even with the splitting, y'all would still be neigbours and if there is no peace, it will affect y'all's economy badly. What Africa needs is a government structure that is similar to what we have in Canada. Let each province in a country be as autonomous as possible. At least we will sit and talk about our future. We must first admit that colonialists did a very bad job |
Foreign Affairs › Re: Ghana's Western Togoland Region Declares Sovereignty by Fash20: 11:17am On Sep 26, 2020 |
JerryLekki: Personally, I think all African countries should renegotiate their sovereignty. It is foolhardiness to be clingy to the greedy, unlawful, illegal and immoral partitioning of Africa in 1884 by white racists.
We need new countries in Africa. We should however not resort to this level of crass violence to achieve it.
Until we sit down and talk, across Africa, we will keep having this issues. I mean, look at the Ambazonia issue in Cameroon.
Africa, Think. Abi now. Every Nigerian who scream racist is also a racist |

Christistruth00: I don't think so because almost all West Africans are the same Race it is only Culture and Language that is different.
The successful Old pre colonial. Empires always had other tdibes in them. It was part of what made them flourish. Are western European people not whites? Why do they have countries that seperate them on language basis? France - french England - english Spain- spanish Germany- German Portugal - Portuguese And the list goes on and on. Language/ ethnicity (people with common belief, values and culture) is a very key factor in progress of a nation. These same Europeans came to africa to create identities for us. It is racist cus thats one of the things that cannot happen in europe |

ifejobi84754: All these breaking away way is very nothing in Africa. Look at Eritrea and South Sudan, are those two now paradise after breaking away? The colonial master were racist. They didn't know we are different they gave us an identity that isn't ours. This is time to correct their mistakes.. I foresee A Black Spring in the near future |

Abagworo: Why I still regard that regime as the best economically is what they were able to achieve with oil prices ranging from 7dollar to 11dollar per barrel.I see that as an economic miracle going by our rate of borrowing with current oil prices above 80dollars.Imagine if Abacha regime traded oil above 40dollars not to talk of 100.The infrastructure he built for the riverine people is still unequaled till date.
His human right records went sour because he was fighting to remain in power. The opposition were trying to make the country ungovernable for Abacha. Also remember that nadeco were involved in some bombings and there was a fight between Abacha and nadeco. Abacha is not and will never be an hero. |
Politics › Re: We Want Our Own Country – Yoruba Leader, Akintoye Tells Buhari by Fash20: 7:04am On Sep 25, 2020 |
myBraine: Nigeria democracy is still young when compared to that of the US.
Many of us grew up without the knowledge of democracy including our leaders too. Even though change is constant, we shouldn't just expect people to transmogrified into something they're not or something they didn't grew up with.
With time, our leaders will adjust and start performing. You can only give up when our democracy clocks 100 years. Aside that, no tribe can be guaranteed total sovereignty. Not even Taiwan or Hong Kong was.
As for Falana, Yoruba people should just ignore him. What do you expect from someone whose son suddenly woke him up in the middle of the night and blatantly told him “Dad! This is Nigeria.” “Where everybody (including you and I) are criminals!” This is the most disgusting mentality most Nigerians have. Allways hoping it will be better without putting any effort |

Everyone says the earth is special.
Yes it is. To life as we know it. Suppose there exists another form of life, our special planet may be hostile to it and to it, earth will just be one of the non-special planets in the galaxy. The point is planet earth is special to us because its our only home.
Space travel is not possible for now. The space is so vast that it will take the fastest space probe more than 50 thousand years to reach the NEAREST star.
Think about it. You do not know anyone that live 50 thousand years ago. Human have not discovered AGRICULTURE 50,000 ago. There were no Villages or empires 50,000 years ago. Human were living as hunters and gatherers and one of our cousins Homo Neanderthals were living in europe.
